literally exactly like that one breakup scene in blue is the warmest color where adele (reg) is all pathetic and crying and snotty and gross and desperate & emma (barty) watches her, a bit dissociated, lightly teary-eyed, putting up a front and trying not to appear affected both for her sake and for adeles sake trying to protect them both, but also folding so easily because it’s reg. sloppily making out and being all weird and unbelievably sad and confused about it. especially reg, and barty being so weak for anything reg gives him and trying to fight it

barty is just sort of. wired wrong. that’s regulus’ kid and his kid or anyone elses isn’t any of his business, is sort of the mindset, aware of not. like we very much believe there’s a sort of ask dont tell culture in pureblood families. also, barty is already deranged and predatory and dangerous himself, i mean just look at what he did with neville when he was posing as moody. i think he cares deeply for sirius jr, that’s regs offspring yaknow, but he’d never step in or do something. barty isnt a good enough person to like. take a stance against childhood abuse / or even consider it. it’s simply none of his business

barty grives regulus in the bellareg universe, but not necessarily because he became an abusive parent. more because he’s just a shadow of the boy barty once knew. it’s about his personal loss rather than anything else. and i don’t think he’s necessarily surprised that reg grows up to become his mother, i mean they were both abused growing up, and i think he has an attitude of ’that’s just how things go’. there’s an oasis documentary (supersonic) where noel talks about their fathers abuse and he has a very nonchalant scoff like attitude about it and says that you can’t let it affect you lmao. but he also tried to physically fight his dad for just showing up at a bar he was at once. i think that’s barty. i think he has a very scoff like teenage boy attitude where he’s like whatever, it is what it is, can’t let it get you down. but then he also kills his dad lol. it’s a very complex situation…. like it’s just the way it is, but he also wants to kill his dad. and with sirius jr it’s also just the way it is, and if jr grows up and kills his dad then barty would probably have the same type of scoff like attitude of ’he had it coming’ while also grieving like a fucking mad-man. just the way things go, we’re all doomed, etc

i also don’t think barty necessarily feels to bad for sirius jr, nor is he angry at regulus. it’s simply an ask dont tell situation and the way things are typa thing
