 Project Tittle
Flight of Thought, to see a person’s personality by the train of their thoughts.
 Reflective statement
After 3 weeks of hard and work and self-induced stress I have finally come to finish my first project for BCT semester one “cards for play”. The outcome of the game was far more different in design and context from the initial idea I had thought up of. I was quite astonished from the outcome of the final game as when it first started it as a play experience and through trial and testing by play testing around my class and gathering data from the players it evolved to its current state.
Each play test that was done changed the play experience little by little and in the end turned into a game, there was quite a bit of play testing required then I anticipated for this project. The game has a lot of potential to be developed further in the future as if I get a chance to revamp the project I would like to do my own detailed illustration for the cards and further develop the interactions between the players and develop sets of cards with different themes. There is a previous blog referencing the places in the web where I obtained the illustrations from which I have linked below.

Rules of Play
This game is designed for ages 15 and above.
1.     The game consists of four players and two decks of cards consisting of 20 cards each (one deck consisting of illustrations and words and one consisting of settings.)
2.     Player roles include Dealer, Judge, Player A & B. The objective of the game is to gain the most points from the other players.
3.     There is a compass in the middle indicating the role of the players. The dealer places three pairs of cards on the mat (the dealer choses the difficulty the cards placed thus the dealer can be strategic on which cards he places to challenge the players).
4.      The dealer is not allowed to look at the cards and the dealer can’t put down a mix the word and the illustrated but he/she can mix the difficulty levels.
5.     Cards are colour coded at the back per the difficulty level of the cards.
6.     Red- Hard, Yellow-Medium, Green-Easy.
7.     Player A & B picks up a pair of cards, they don’t look at it until the judge gives the signal. Once the judge gives the sign they get 20 seconds to look at the card, after 20 seconds they get 80 seconds to come up with the scenario and 30 seconds to present it. The judge must time the players with a stop watch available.
8.     Player A always goes first, each player presents their scenarios to the judge and then the judge decides what points will be awarded to the players by the quality of the scenarios.
9.     The points allocated will be from 0-3 (The players not only are competing against each other but also must please the judge to score the maximum points available.)
10.  The only cards that are put away are the ones that the players have already used any unused cards that are on the table gets put back in the deck.
11.  After each turn the compass mat turns towards the left changing each player’s role.
12.  When the game finishes the player with the most points will be bestowed with the tittle of the “Royal poet”.
