yes! currently the plan for when i finish writing noble pining is to try and post a chapter a week! which will take. a very long time lmao bc im currently at 18 chapters with at least a few more to go after the one im writing rn jskfbvkfb but yeah you'll definitely hear about it when i finish and start posting because the plan is to post a chap every week !!

Are you even a no wips published person or is noble pining getting special treatment?

i actually do try to finish wips before posting as a general rule- there are a couple exceptions ive posted as i've written, but more often than not when i post chaps on a wip before ive finished the whole thing i tend not to finish writing or posting it at all, which i don't love bc then i have unfinished wips hanging out on my ao3 </3 having the promise of getting to post my work and getting to share it and get feedback about it is a big motivator for me, so even when i know a wip is gonna be a multichap, i usually wait until the whole thing is done before posting

and especially with noble pining, because it's so long and involved, a large part of my process especially when i'm blocked is to go back and edit and read back through old chapters- updating and changing things that warrant it and getting inspo for later chapters, and i like having the freedom of being able to do that without having to worry about updating already posted chapters!

Is it even going to be called noble pining or are you going to come up with a different title?👀

the plan was always for "noble pining" to be a working title for the fic lmao, it was something i came up with ages ago when i was first talking about the idea with casey and got tired of typing out "the princess adaine guards fabian and gorgug fic" and came up with noble pining as a stopgap working title until i came up with something more formal lmao, and that's still the plan- i'm considering between a couple formal titles right now, but when i eventually do post it ill probably still call it noble pining as well as the actual title i decide on, because i recognize it'll probably be a little confusing to refer to it solely by another name when ive been blogging about it as noble pining for so long (honestly i never expected to get back so much interest and so many asks about noble pining! i always thought of it as my silly little niche passion project, and so to receive so much interest and excitement about it is truly so lovely and heartening to hear!)

do you maybe have a link to somewhere that explains your noble pining project? not to expose my ignorance, but i have no idea what it's about and i would love to know 😅

hiii omg!!! genuinely do not feel bad at all, i blog a lot about noble pining without context!!! the general description of noble pining is that it's a long form fantasy high (d20) au fanfic i've been working on for the last three years, centering around an au wherein adaine is a princess and fabian and gorgug are her best friends and personal guards! all of the other bad kids and a lot of major npcs also make appearances throughout, and it's got figayda, yellope, and trackerbees in it, but the major central ship of it is/will be adaine/gorgug/fabian (which i know is an ot3 that literally no one cares about or has written before. but here we are skjfbnskbj) !!!! the fic itself is currently at around 110k words and i've just finished the nineteenth chapter and it's not yet done (i'm waiting to start posting it until it's all done and more cohesive and polished than it is at the moment) but i'm getting there slowly but surely !!!!!

Slasher 😵‍💫. i think it's so clean and well executed and also i was insane. honorable mentions go to my figayda coffee shop au, and the as-yet-unposted charlieverse with casey @aberfaeth and the infamous noble pining

ooooh i just read a steve/eddie spiderman au a couple days ago that was VERY good and it made me think about a fig/gorgug fig!spiderman au where she was the hero and gorgug was her guy in the headset/in the chair yk ooohoohooo.... 👀 much to think about

26. Would you rather write a fic that had no dialogue or one that was only dialogue?

i actually have written a couple fics with no dialogue!! neither my acoc ruby reflection fic or my duck/minerva taz amnesty fic have any dialogue in them!! they're both just introspective monologue pieces <3

that said i doubt i'd ever write anything- or at least any fic- that's only dialogue, because a big part of the writing process for me is figuring out the internal hook and journey of both the pov character and everyone they talk to so as to write their dialogue, as well as the physical action/behaviors/setting of the scenes, and i can't imagine successfully writing much that was solely dialogue without either of those things

4. What detail in [slasher] are you really proud of?

i think one of the things i like most about slasher is how. clean it is. most of the time i don't plot out or plan fics before or even while im writing them, and so often times i think for better or for worse, my work tends to be a little directionless and meandering. it gets to an end point eventually but the path it takes there usually has some unintended sidepaths, if you'll allow the metaphor. for slasher, i sat down with a really vivid and clear image in my head of the first scene i wanted to write, and while the rest of it flowed really organically from there, i think as a whole it's the tidiest and sharpest thing i've ever written. theres not a lot of additional or unecessary fluff or filler in it, and i think it makes it a really strong and fast read and something i'm alwayys really proud to go back to

i also had a lot of fun kind of discovering the events preceding the fic as i wrote it- how all the other bad kids died, what drove daybreak to do what he did, how did all (most) of them end up in the cabin, how did fig and gorgug get hurt, what were they doing before the rampage, etc- i find all those little details that fig remembers and either pushes away or clings to over the course of the fic really fun and compelling and they help flesh out the whole story in a way that felt really natural to me <3

5. What do you wish someone would ask you about [slasher]? Answer it now!

ooooohhh uhh. it's not really a question but in my head, the fall following the events of slasher fig and gorgug move in together (bc they're codependent and traumabonded) and find and adopt a little kitten and name her aurora (which means dawn) <33 hhehehe i think about that so much
