The tang of blood was in the air and for a moment, Karina was back at the Black Diamond, her grandfather's personal fighting ring. It had taken years before she was even allowed to watch matches, let alone participate. It was not the thing, to have Printsessa be exposed to blood and carnage. At least, that had been the thing before they realized just how deep her fangs really went.

Fangs that were carefully kept now, as she surveyed the fighting ring of the Pits. Matches apparently were quite common every day and despite the atmosphere of excitement as the recent match ended, there was a hush around the Pits that seemed subdued, as if any rowdiness would invoke a wrath not meant to be stirred.

"If I had known you had such a punch, zaya, perhaps I should not have ended things between us, yes?" Her voice was a soft hush, still easily discernible as she put herself in the path of the victor. "I had missed you so," With the purr of a lover, she stepped close, and heeding not the smell of sweat and blood on him, embraced Arwyn.

As Lio's groan broke the silence, Karina felt a pang of relief wash over her. She had been holding her breath, waiting for any sign of his recovery, and now that he was stirring, she allowed herself to relax just a fraction.

Slowly, Karina shifted back into her human form, her muscles protesting the transformation as she settled beside Lio. She felt his arm wrap around her waist, a gesture that filled her with a sense of warmth and reassurance.

But as she met his tired gaze, Karina couldn't help but notice the confusion flickering in his eyes. She knew she owed him an explanation, but the words caught in her throat, tangled in the web of uncertainty and fear that still lingered within her.

Eirwen's hurried intervention broke the tension, as she rushed to cover Karina's nakedness with a flurry of clothing pieces. She tried not to smirk, amused by her friend's scandalized voice. Karina wasn't at all embarrassed by her nakedness. The feel of his warm body beneath her was both relief and pleasure, even as she cursed her mind for immediately jumping to admiring his muscles after he nearly died.

Languidly, both due to the strain of her muscles and to reassure Eirwen that she wasn't bothered by showing skin, Karina straightened. Rising from laying atop Lio, she gave him a secret look, as if words were not enough. And for a moment a flush coated her cheeks at their positions now.

"Funny that I didn't think I'd end up naked with you tonight, lyubmiya." Her smile was sly as she stretched, pushing her long blonde locks away from her skin. Playfulness put aside for a bit, her eyes raked down his chest, a brief frown appearing at his wound.

"We need to go to the hospital," She dismounted from him, putting on her clothes as she met Eirwen's eyes. "I apologize for having to call you here, Eirwen. I am grateful, beyond even." Her eyes were sincere.

As Hyunseok and his secretary finalized their conversation, the air in the upscale Seoul restaurant seemed to subtly shift. A new presence made itself known, commanding attention without effort. Karina, prodigy of Koschei, entered the private room with an aura of confidence and poise.

Draped in an elegant ensemble that exuded sophistication, Karina offered a polite nod to Hyunseok and his secretary before taking her seat. Her sharp gaze, the color of steel, assessed the room with a calculating intensity before settling on Hyunseok. Deep down however, Karina was a bundle of nerves. This is the first time her grandfather had let her meet one of his potential business partners. All the way to Seoul no less. She had an entourage, but for this meeting, she preferred to gather her courage on her own.

Her clothes were chosen precisely for that reason. And for the first time since in a long time, Karina had abandoned the spectacles and wore contacts, enough for her eyes, almost reptilian in their color shine through.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr. Cho," Karina greeted in a voice as smooth as silk, her Russian accent lending an exotic allure to her words. Thankfully the accent helped hide her actual nerves. "My grandfather apologizes he could not be here today, at his age, the doctor recommends he stay in Moscow. I am surprised your own father suggested Seoul, but I can understand the appeal." The smile was polite almost discerning.

In the past…

It had only been months since the failed wedding, and Hyunseok was already back in the grind of his work. Meetings done left and right with suppliers and those they supply parts, software, and other things. It was easy to return back to his life, especially now that he’s not locked to an engagement anymore. His parents are still unhappy about what had happened, but he’s learned to just… move on with his life.

With him still being the sole heir to the company, he’s still the one to meet with their future business partners, learning the ropes and such.

Hyunseok, now clad in his suit, walks into one of the high end restaurants in Seoul with his secretary to meet a foreign business partner that his parents had asked him to meet with as they are currently out of the country. He had reserved a private room for them to have their meeting in.

He speaks with the waiter to ask them to wait until their guest arrives before coming to take their orders, then turns to his secretary as they leave to finish up the conversation they had on the way to the restaurant straight from their office.

In a reboot/reimagining of X-Men Evolution, what if the Spider-kids were there, too, with maybe Aunt May and another Spider-adjacent adult, and they were their own group, along with the Brotherhood and X-Men... And then there is Reader, a spider mutant, who is now stuck in the middle of the three groups, and is trying to stay neutral and out of their way? More-or-less wanting to stick to themself, but not cold or aloof, just someone who may be slightly uneasy around them, yet is friendly or at the least amicable?

Like, imagine the Spider-kids consist of Peter Parker/Spiderman, Miles Morales/Spin, Gwen Stacy/Ghost Spider, maybe with their friends/enemies as Spider-kids too, like Harry Osborn but with Carnage, or a green crab spider or orchard spider theme, Mary Jane Watson or MJ with her symbiote or with a trapdoor spider theme, maybe Flash with the Venom symbiote or with a tarantula theme... Reader I can see being a wolf spider, orbweaver, or jumping spider mutant. Especially if they are related to or an experiment involving the DNA of one of the adult mutants.

Would the X-Men and Brotherhood try to get the Spider-teens at some point to join their groups? Probably. Would it work? I think it depends on what the options are and how stable their powers are. Would they be more spider-like? Yes. The Venom symbiotes could be anything from aliens to experiments to even an alternate personality. Or they could be with the adults? It's undecided as of the moment.

Characters that won't be included in this au are Eddie Brock and Miguel O'Hara. I like them, for the most part, but I'm not sure how to write them. I do like Venom, but I'm sticking more along the animted versions of him, as that works better with this AU.

A name for this AU could be the 🕸Silken Threads and Venomous Webs🕷 AU...

Either way it goes, it sounds like a fun AU to me, and I hope to be able to bring it to life a little. Thank you for reading, and have a great day or night 💛🧡🍯🐝

Anyone in the area knows to point those with any sort of vehicular trouble to Rev and Ven; the pair could fix up anything for a reasonable price. If Rev couldn't fix it, it was too far gone for fixing. So no one is particularly surprised to see strangers drop in, cars limping along or walking their bikes to Rev’s garage. Babies always ran like new out of it after Rev’s tender loving touch.

Ven is on a stool just inside the garage, watching for customers, while Rev works on Rose’s bike. She notices Tech’s approach, waits until she’s close enough to bother calling out. “Engine trouble?”

A quick glance at her wife tells her Rev is near a stopping point, so Ven reaches to the switch and flicks the lights off and on twice to get her attention. Rev looks up, sees Tech, and nods to Ven, holding up two fingers. Ven nods back, and Rev returns to Rose’s bike, finishing off her task before standing, wiping her hands on a rag as she approaches. “Engine trouble?” She signs to Ven. Ven shrugs back.

[9/10] this guy is not even there!!! the whole time!!! nothing behind this dude's eyes. he started dissociating shortly before meeting the scientist lady and he just never fuckin stopped. the lights are all off upstairs. this dude is checked out and he is NEVER coming back.

[10/10] final point the dialogue was just fucking phenomenal start to finish. just absolutely batshit nuts what was coming out of everybody's mouths. and the delivery was stellar, like the wack shit they were saying was completely normal and fine. i'd like to shake that writer's hand

Karina laughs softly at Giselle's pronouncement and she gives a nod of acceptance.

"Well, as you have declared it so, how else can I be able to live?" She teased but there was still a gratefulness in her eyes as she looked at her. "Oh please, you are telling me, Giselle doesn't have any gossip? Even on an island paradise such as this?" She adds with a wink, before sinking back unto the massage bed.

"Well, I've taken a job, if you can believe it. As a yoga instructor." She wiggles her eyebrows as if it was the most ridiculous thing ever.

Karina was not prone to sentimentality. no tears shed, just shoulders squared and proceeding forward. All things considered, Karina knew there was very little thing she needed to weep about. Despite the complete eradication of the world and life she knew, she was positively cheerful about the life she now can build. As cheerful as a grandchild of Koschei can.

But sentimentality had a way of creeping up on you, Karina mused to herself as she sampled the frosting of the sans rival, a soft hum escaped her lips. It tasted...familiar, almost too familiar, as if she were back in Moscow, in her grandfather's hotel, sampling the restaurant's desserts and....

"Now I can be mistaken..." Her voice carried as she sauntered her way towards the counter of Black Forest Bakery. "But these confections taste very familiar...." A smile bloomed across her face that seemed positively predatory.

The night is dark. Eddie sleeps peacefully under the skin of the symbiote, unaware of what it's doing. Eddie had asked for a peaceful night, and that is what Venom helps to achieve, isn't it? The symbiote is slightly confused as to why he may want to sleep early if this is the case . . . but it knows he trusts it to allow it to use his body this way. To get out for a walk, he said once. Fresh air, if you need it. The symbiote hoped it was doing the right thing, because that's all it ever wanted to do, such as right now. Wandering into dark alleys like they used to, hiding in the shadows, waiting to strike at the first sign of danger. They couldn't crawl on walls or swing from webs, but the symbiote could still do plenty like this.

White eyes open, and then the reveal of the sharp teeth in a wide smile as Eiden stepped closer to the shadow. It blinked a few times, and then decided to break the silence. ⸨ Hello. ⸩

It came out loud, a little more frightening than intended, but the symbiote was still unsure how to go about the 'approachable' route. They'd always considered Eddie to be 'safe', so why would appearing in the same body type ( if not a little larger ) be intimidating at all? ⸨ Do you need help? ⸩

It had been quite some time since Karina indulged in luxuries. Being on the run and not wanting to attract attention meant she had to get used to a certain way of living that wasn't up to her usual standards.

Since arriving on the island however, she was delighted to discover not only could she be her complete self in Mount Phoenix, but also reconnect with people who can now join this new part of her life.

Lio was one such person. Last she had seen of him, she was shadowing Koschei and he his father in one of their "business dealings". Now it seemed both of them had gone on their own paths, of which now intersect. Karina wasn't complaining, Lio had an edge about him that intrigued the chaos the lurked in Karina's own blood. She didn't know if it was because of the demigod blood they shared, or merely because she was not built for a quiet life, much like Lio.

"Are you asking me on a date after all this years, zolottse?" Karina accepted the apple cider and took a hearty sip. "Was all of this pomp and circumstance a way to butter me up?" Her lips quirked into a sly smile.

"A chance to dress up and people watch? Why, how could I say no to that?" She raised her glass as a toast to him before lowering the glass, her eyes studying him intently.

"Any other reason as to why you would need my company on this night? To distract you from what exactly, pet?"
