I think Sonic would really like graffiti tagging as a hobby.

It's about freedom. It's about rebellion. It's about seeing a highway underpass, boring drab and gray, and deciding to fight back. It's about reclaiming spaces behind fences and barbed wire placed there by people who'll never actually walk there. Look at me, a graffiti tag says, in a place I'm told I cannot be.

It's about community. Sonic can look at a wall of what looks to be scribbles and pick out the names he recognizes from around town. He's seen "SENCE" on the bridge over 4th street; "DIAM" on the side of the shopping mall. It's a network of people coming and going, no social media needed, and it's always nice to see a familiar name pop up in a new place. Has he ever actually met any of these people? No, but he knows them, well enough to tell their mannerisms through their marker or spray can.

It's about anonymity. No one knows Sonic's graffiti tag, and he works hard to keep it that way. He's able to, for once, disappear into the night and have himself judged only by the quality of his actions, no reputation or fame proceeding him. And sure, he's able to cover an entire city in a few days what might take others a few weeks, but he's seen other taggers perform similar miracles, clinging to the side of bridges and leaving their marks just above the waterline. The playing field is equal. It isn't about "who you are", it's about what you can do.

It's also about slapping stickers onto the back of Metal Sonic's head so that Eggman has to spend painstaking hours scraping them off, but that's beside the point.

Okay, so not to be a hater, but I completely disagree with the "Jamil cuts his hair after he gets his freedom" headcanon. It feels so out of character for him.

He says this, and middle school is also conveniently when he started growing out his hair

I think his long hair is a form of rebellion against the Asims, not the other way around. It also makes sense that his long hair is a rebellious form of freedom for him because someone in his line of work shouldn't have long hair. Fighting off assassins, manual labor, and not overshadowing his master, yet he has butt length hair that he puts cute little bells in? Considering how Jamil is really overcautious, this doesn't seem like an oversight to me. It seems like it's on purpose.

To me, it seems like his little safe way of saying, "hey everybody, look at me PLEASE". It's his little way of being Jamil, as opposed to just another Viper. He can spend extra time on his hair away from Kalim, and have plausible deniability to his parents. "Oh, it wouldn't do for an Asim servant to look bad, right? So of COURSE I spend so much time on my hair!" It's his little way of prioritizing himself and putting himself first, in a world that tells him he's always second to Kalim.

Gingka's image in me has worn down and changed over time, but I've always had strong impression with his character development in Fusion. Almost literal embodiment of the wind (in my tween/teen's vision). Honestly, if I could think of one "blink and you'll miss it" moment from Leverage that perfectly encapsulates how glaringly different Hardison's criminal career pre-Leverage is compared to Eliot, Parker, and Sophie, it's the part in the season 1 finale where the IRS agents are telling Sterling which countries they're all wanted in and the only one for Hardison is "Iceland"

And then in the third season, we learn that Hardison skipped his senior prom because he was hacking the bank of Iceland to pay his Nana's medical bills
