The tiny Claudia looked at her adoptive father with bored and tired eyes. Humans were capable of incredible amounts of violence, sure – he had told her this numerous times. Over and over. Like a broken record. Along with several other stories that she soaked in like a sponge. Other animals were capable of violence, too, and violence was part of the nature of animals.

She wasn’t going to tell him this though. She wasn’t much of a talker, to be honest. And she felt like her father didn’t deserve words from her at all, really. So she kept her words to herself. Kept them like a secret. And, instead, she simply stared at the man like he was stupid as he spoke, even though she listened to him go on and on about suppressing her powers, and keeping down her rage, because she could harm people if she didn’t. 

The idea of harming others wasn’t something she liked, so she kept that in mind. But still, he was talking and talking and talking. He was talking so much that it got to the point that she broke a light in the room and screamed because it frightened her. 

“...See, even you are capable of violence!” father expressed, making her sigh because his logic made no sense. He was using fear-tactics. Aidan, your brother, had warned you of this. He used them with him. So you were prepared for the use of them eventually. "We will do more studying tomorrow." He said this in a way that's so sure of himself, and Claudia wanted to argue but she knows it will go nowhere. She's too tired, too. So, she just nodded.
