for George: Is your muse noisy in bed? How noisy? What makes them reach that level? Nick needs to know. (I am NOT LATE FOR SINDAY DON'T LIE TO ME)
so in general, george is noisyĀ but not loud. heā€™ll moan and swear and mutter incoherencies. when hitting the right buttons, heā€™ll even quietly start to beg or ask for more, but even that is like... mumbled and barely coherent. a lot of it is just like one word things on breaths.
to get him loudĀ nick shoooould withhold things or be annoying, really. like. edging gets george frustrated and demanding, teasing with no hint of giving in. make him mad.Ā basically get george like... emotionally riled up and the noise shall follow. the more worked up he is, the less he restrains himself.

itā€™s time i made an Actual record of the degrees george has, and the languages he knows, since fuck this guy is too intelligent for his own good.
this got long so i read-mored it.
i should preface this by saying, yes, george is only 29, and yes, he did most of this in about a decade. he didĀ start college early, at 16.Ā but the reason he was able to get so many degrees so quickly is because he was avoiding society due to guilt over his brotherā€™s death and the accompanying estrangement from his family. he threw himself into his studies, and had a natural mind for languages so a lot of the time he was able to finish his degrees early. he didnā€™t haveĀ spare time, it was all spent researching and memorizing and studying. academics were safe, they were his comfort, and he needed them, so he refused to stop, and whenever he felt he was capable of taking on more, he did. he is incredibly intelligent, but he is notĀ what most would call aĀ ā€˜geniusā€™. while languages come incredibly easy to him, for the most part he has had to put in hours of work, and only through his own high expectations of himself and his desire to overachieve did he manage to stay sane through his intense journey. also, for the most part, he did survive off of scholarships, though he also spent a lot of time tutoring and working as a teaching assistant.
he first double majored in linguistics and ancient studies, focusing primarily on pre-christianity history, with minors in general theology and philosophy (graduated in 3 years with extensive summer school, done at 19)
he then did a masters/ph.d joint program in ancient history & archaeology which cemented his fluency in latin and ancient greek, and included specializations in epigraphy and papyrology (a combined 5 year program)
when his masters portion was done (at 21), he took on a second ph.d and a third bachelorā€™s in translation studies and ancient languages respectively, with a primary focus in aramaic and like languages, which added 4 more years to his studies (completing his first ph.d a year into this, at 22, and then completing the bachelorā€™s at 25 and the second ph.d at 26)
it was at some point during this second ph.d that he met scarlett (around age 24), another avid learner who was in the middle of her own second ph.d, having obtained a ph.d and masterā€™s already. her interest in his ability to decipher languages started their relationship and had george actually leaving the academic scene (in presence, not in credits) to follow her around on her pursuit of the philosopher's stone, and he used their adventures as the basis for his dissertation of said second ph.d.
her determination to do whatever it took to get the stone rubbed against his desire for sticking to the book, and this eventually led to them parting ways midway through georgeā€™s third ph.d (in science & religion), since she kept getting him into trouble that was beginning to affect his academic performance. though only several months later scarlett showed up again to ask for his help (age 28), which resulted in them literally going to hell and fighting for their lives to escape. upon returning, george attempted to finish his third ph.d, but struggled due to nightmares about nearly dying and about watching others die gruesome deaths, and eventually cited mental exhaustion and took a semester off.Ā
once he and scarlett broke up the second time, george needed a distraction, so he began to work remotely on finishing his last degree, and while he did also do some freelance translation work, due to his inability to sleep and his general anxiety about everything, he managed to complete his degree only a few months later, now 29.Ā
this happened only a few weeks before he met @interphraseā€˜s nick, and it was because nick helps him feel in control of things again that george has not disappeared back into academia. heā€™s much too busy learning magic now.
alright, now lets move on to the languages the george knows. this is by no means an extensive list, and at any given point he is learning more (to various degrees), but these are the ones he has the easiest time with or likes the best
so, full fluency in:
english, obviously
french
spanishĀ
german
latin
ancient greek
aramaic (and languages that are considered precursors/successors, such as hebrew/arabic, since itā€™s relatively easy for george to recognize the changes)
advanced reading comprehension but not complete fluency:
dutch
russian
ancient egyptianĀ
italian
portuguese
conversational at best:
chinese (cantonese and mandarin)
korean
swahiliĀ
various other dialects, like creole or catalan in which he knows enough to get by but would probably require a translator for the majority

George: šŸ’‘ and šŸ‘Ž and šŸ¬
šŸ’‘ What are my museā€™s requirements for a potential partner?
uh, that they donā€™t abandon him in a prison to hunt down ancient artifacts, or that they dont drag him to hell and nearly cost him his life and then traumatize him forever? thatā€™s the big one. but mostly, with george, itā€™s very easy. if he says no, let it be (regarding anything, but particularly topics he doesnā€™t like to talk about), show interest in his hobbies such as translation and fixing old buildings illegally. just like... mostly he just wants to be appreciated. heā€™s not clingy though, so like, he could go several weeks without seeing his partner and be fine with it. as long as at some the partner checks in likeĀ ā€˜hey iā€™m alive still, are you alive stillā€™ thats all he needs
šŸ‘Ž Would my muse ever cheat on their partner?
not like.. intentionally? i donā€™t mean like.. black out drunk make mistakes things but like... well if thereā€™s a hazy line between whether theyā€™re actually together or not, he might hookup with someone else. and also he has experience with lots of crazy supernatural shit, and itā€™s always possible one of them may manipulate and/or cause him to act against his own will.
šŸ¬ Is my muse a sub, dom, or switch?
mostly a sub, to be honest. he probably could dom if he wanted with the right person, but he is very much the take-orders type. itā€™s not even that he likes being told what to do, because it can be very frustrating, but he just feels so weighed down by everything all the time that letting other people be in charge is one thing he doesnā€™t have to worry about

What are George's thoughts on religion after the movie?
so georgeā€™s thoughts on religion pre-movie were already sort of all over the place. he was always fascinated by history, and thus the creations of religions, but due to being a scholar (particularly a scholar of ancient civilizations and core belief systems, with a focus on probably-untrue speculations into said civilizations capabilities (like with alchemy)) heā€™s had to study a vast array of beliefs and how they came into being, what they entailed, how believing in these things helped or hindered these peoples, and how to decode clues left behind within these beliefs.
so that said, he has a strong idea ofĀ ā€˜these people think this is valid, but so do these people, and their beliefs are completely different and yet entirely backed up by evidenceā€™ view point. because allĀ religions come from somewhere, have their start with someone, and itā€™s just a matter of who was better at spreading their beliefs, and which people survived to keep spreading it.Ā
so he has a very like... itā€™s impossible to tell which ones exist and which ones donā€™t, if any exist at all, but all beliefs follow the same sort of rules and thus there must be one central event or something that blossomed this desire to worship or follow or pray to something greater than us. and he canā€™t say there isnā€™t one true god or religion or set of beliefs because each one has their ups and downs, their pros and cons. his method of examining them is super scientific, so he doesnā€™t adhere to any one because then heā€™d be bias towards that and not give the others their due credit. but he also doesnā€™t deny that something might be there. he doesnā€™t believe in a higher power, but he doesnā€™t necessarily believe there isnā€™t one.
so then during the movie, he finds proof of the philosopherā€™s stone existing and descends directlyĀ into the popular idea of hell. he literally experiences what religions for decades have warned about, have threatened people with -- and on the way there, he had to solve an egyptian puzzle, used danteā€™s idea of how far away hell was, and encountered a greek warning over the entrance of hell. three very strong sets of beliefs -- and all employed to protect this idea of eternal life. certainly during the events, he had a hard time believing that any of what was happening couldĀ be happening, and that it was probably a collective hallucination from fear of being trapped in the catacombs forever. as the movie goes on, things get increasingly harder to deny, especially as he witnesses scarlett heal fatal injuries as if theyā€™d never been there at all.Ā
then he escapes the catacombs, and quite literally hell, and spends a good portion of the next year pretending it hadnā€™t happened or trying to rationalize his way out of it -- it couldnā€™t have happened, so therefore it didnā€™t happen.
but papillon and souxie and benji are still dead, the documentary still exists that shows proof of their experiences -- and thatā€™s too hard of facts for his logical mind to reject. these things didĀ happen, things that explain in full how many beliefs came into existence. because he and scarlett and zed canā€™t have been the first to get to hell and get back out, and earlier peoples might have used these things to bolster their beliefs because back then, it was easier to just straight up sayĀ ā€˜i went to hell and survivedā€™ than it is now -- it would become a warning and not a sign someone is crazy.
so where he didnā€™t fully adhere to one religion, he has hands-on experience to prove that there isĀ a reason to pray to a higher power to keep you safe, to follow a set of codes to ensure you a happy afterlife. he gets it now on a plane he could never have gotten it if he had never gone into the catacombs. he still doesnā€™t entirely believe in any one religion himself still because his experiences were not rooted in any one religion and could arguably make sense of many, but if that sort of nonsense is beneath paris, is real, is something to be physically part of, then whoā€™s to say there isnā€™tĀ something opposite. that there isnā€™t heaven or valhalla or whatever awaits.
so it didnā€™t make him choose, but his experiences made it impossible to doubt

1, 2, and 5 for George
what would completely break your character?
not much to be honest. pre-movie, george is very resilient, and even though he gets irritated at lots of things (usually scarlett), heā€™s also pretty up for adventure and is more angry at situations than he is broken (although dannyā€™s death devastated him). post movie, heā€™s a numb shell who has nightmares and canā€™t stand being yelled at, or being underground, or in water, and while he wonā€™t break down per se, he will shut down, which is his version i guess. however, if nickā€‹ even remotely indicates in any way that he doesnā€™t want george around, george will shatter thanks.
what was the best thing in your characterā€™s life?
hmmmmmm. yknow he hasnā€™t had the best life. lots of things just added up to more bad things. arguably, it was probably meeting nick (which is. terrible) because nick gave him a purpose, gave him someone he can trust, helped him sort of start to heal. heā€™d have probably kept spiraling down if he hadnā€™t
does your character work so they can support their hobbies or use their hobbies as a way of filling up the time they arenā€™t working?
his hobbies are his work, tbh. heā€™s fascinated by history and legends and language, and heā€™s goodĀ at them. he is an expert in many fields even though heā€™s young simply because he loves what he does and itā€™s basically allĀ he does, really. heā€™s a nerd, and heā€™s okay with that.

george is an avid rock climber. he does a lot of freehand climbing, and can scale most things with ease. after his brother died, and further after the catacombs, he doesnā€™t do much climbing anymore
annnnnd mmmm.... i once almost died of blood poisoning when i was five. so now iā€™m dead terrified of splinters
