PROMPTS FOR NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION

          Over a decade at the BAU has turned Spencer into a bit of a light sleeper; he has to be able to wake up at a moment’s notice if Hotch or Garcia calls him in on a case. So when Slayer presses a soft kiss to his forehead, he stirs. With the lack of a ringtone to startle him to wakefulness, he comes to consciousness slowly, brows furrowing && eyes squeezing to remain shut. It takes a moment for his brain to catch up && for him to remember where he is — on his couch, having fallen asleep during a history of science fiction documentary. He’s not sure how long he’s been asleep, but he supposes it was long enough for DG to finish what he was doing && decide to let him sleep.

          When he feels the other man tuck something soft around him — Slayer’s jacket, judging by the feel && size of it ( might as well be a blanket for how drastic their size difference was ) — he finally blinks his eyes open. DG has already turned to leave && Spencer reaches out to grab his wrist. It’s a light hold, weak from the drowsiness threatening to drag the genius back down, but he knows Slayer will stop anyway.

       ❛❛ Wait — ❜❜ It’s a mumble, thick with fatigue, && he tries to speak a bit louder. ❛❛ Don’t leave. Let me get up and come — come to bed with me. ❜❜ He tries to stand, && not only is it a bit clumsy, but his knee is still stiff from the way he’d curled up on the couch. A groan leaves him as he flops back down && instead glances up at DG through his eyelashes. ❛❛ Carry me?? ❜❜
