this is my reminder to write a thing about dany and westerosi notions of propriety. the short of it? she don't give not one f*ck
#;; especially when !! in the past !! propriety and piety and all these restrictive social expectations were *used* to destroy her family??#;; looking at rhaenyra! looking at how assimilation to those andal norms caused her family to cannibalize itself! looking at how it played#;; such an overwhelming role in the subjugation of targaryen women???#;; additionally !! dany's life up to meereen has been all about erasing herself; after seeing what *that* did to her IN MEEREEN ESPECIALLY?#;; EVEN WITH VISERYS . . . SHE WAS *STIFLED* BY THE WEIGHT OF HIS ANDAL IDEALS. THE TRUTH OF HER *SELF* WAS ABSOLUTELY OPPRESSED#;; the way he makes her talk and dress and act?? the way he expresses rage/disgust when he sees her happy and free and embracing#;; dothraki culture???#;; smth smth viserys tries to make dany into what *rhaella was made into* bUT THAT'S ANOTHER THING#;; ANYWAYS she's not about it anymore. she's tired of making herself digestible. she's over betraying herself to make herself palatable#;; she *is* unification and that unification isn't just for westeros! she will be unifying HER PEOPLE AS WELL!#;; and she is devoted to unifying the cultures she's very wholeheartedly adopted as well!#♕░░ queen of the summer isles ( LUXX SPEAKING )#;; tbd.
