just the two of us (Uma x Harry) ~ Descendants Prompt Challenge

A/N: Couldn't figure out which one I liked better so I'm posting them both lmao. Also, I've never posted anything for Huma so here's my excuse to lmao. Again, this is another scene I planned on writing for my Descendants Rewrite Series (if I ever get to it). This takes place in the first fic of the series, at the very beginning, so that's why a certain character might be a bit meaner than usual (so don't come for me, Mal stans).

12:53 a.m.

Ursula's Fish and Chips should have closed fifty three minutes ago but a gang of pirates too drunk to tell time or care made closing much more difficult for Uma than usual. The streets were quiet despite the many civilians walking or running to Zeus knows where as Uma dragged her boot clad feet back to the docks.

Back to her ship.

Back to her goddamn birthday party, almost nine hours later.

Uma grunted at the thought as she picked up her feet, practically stomping, as she continued her journey, causing anyone around her to part like the sea as she took another step forward.

This was supposed to her day. The one day on this godforsaken (sans Hades) island that allowed Uma to let her guard down. To smile. To be so happy for once that she wasn't reminded of the fact that every kid had paid for the sins committed by their parents and then some.

Then Mal snitched.

This was a new low, even for the purple haired pixie dragon. No matter what they threw at each other, whether it be hands, shrimp, swords, or for a brief moment, spells, the unspoken rule still applied: no parents involved. The last thing the Isle needed was full blown turf war because two teenage girls couldn't get along.

But of course, Mal found a loophole, and went to Ursula instead. And while Ursula didn't feel the need to know where her daughter was every second of the day, her best worker was missing and the angry customers didn't care for the temporary substitutes that were her crewmates.

Mal snitched. All because she wasn't invited to a former friend's surprise birthday party. Uma had never felt more embarrassed as Ursula literally dragged her out of the docks and into her restaurant.

Well, maybe once...

"Watch me not invite her ass next year," Uma thought to herself bitterly.

Uma sighed as she finally caught sight of the ship. Trashed wasn't a good enough word to describe the mess everywhere. Cups, crumbs, small shards of glass, and small spills from a variety of liquids covered the floor, the sails were teepeed, and some parts of the dock were graffitied. The sea witch pirate could only imagine what the inside looked like.

Luckily, for Uma and her crew, they were on it. With whatever cleaning supplies they had, Bonny, Gonzo, and Jonas were sweeping and mopping the deck as needed while Gil and Desiree hung from the crow's nest to try to remove the toilet paper without falling.

"A LITTLE TO THE LEFT!" Harry yelled, at the forecastle, as he collected the stray swords from the fights earlier. "NO, MY LEFT!"

"Aye, aye," Uma spoke up, boarding on the ship cautiously to not get in anyone's way.

A smirk grew on Harry's face as his icy blue eyes met with Uma's brown, who attempted to reciprocate. Harry's smirk then immediately curled into more of sheepish smile once he realized something was off. "Aye, Captain."

"I'm guessing everyone took off and ran?" Uma asked, observing her ship yet again. "Why don't you all go inside and finish up? Harry and I will finish out here."

Harry beckoned Uma with his hook to follow him to the their plank, as Gonzo, Jonas, and Bonny hastily made their way inside. "One of Harriet's crew tried to make a break with a sword after Harriet and Ginny got in a fight."

Uma took a seat next to him on the edge. "I missed a fight?!"

"Apparently, Anthony's a little...loose lipped. And Harriet didn't like it a bit."

"Who won?"

"Harriet, obviously," Harry said, his grin returning. He brought his right hand up close to Uma's face, slightly bruised, a bit swollen with a few red slivers spread out. "We Hooks are scrappers."

"Are you bleeding?!" Uma's eyes were popping out of her head as she grabbed his hand to examine it.

"Was." Harry shrugged. "Some of Harriet's crew tried to go head to head after Gil caught the thief."

"WHAT?" Uma asked. Harry winced as Uma's grip tightened.

"Harriet got it under control! But not before one of them tried to stab me with a broken glass bottle of rum. Stupid me tried to slap it out of her hand, and well..."

Uma continued to stare at her first mate's hand, softly massaging it. "I'll talk to Harriet tomorrow."

"No need."

"No need? Unless they wanna start something they can't finish, their captain and I need to have a talk before this gets out of hand!"

"Trust me, Harriet already gave those girls an earful. Probably still is. Harriet doesn't wanna fight, and neither do we."

Uma took her attention back to Harry as the two stared each other down right into each other's soul. Uma's gaze was as fierce as always, determined, and fed up while Harry's was more playful and calming. As the staring war continued, Harry slowly grabbed Uma's left hand. His grin was as wide as the ocean before he softly kissed her hand and winked.

Uma rolled her eyes and sighed. "Fine."

Harry chuckled as Uma snatched her hand away. "How was work?"

"The usual," Uma replied. She took her hat off and slid closer to Harry, lying her head on one of his broad shoulders with another deep sigh, looking into the water below them. He twitched for a moment, some of her turquoise braids cascading own his arm and neck were a bit itchy but he didn't mind it a bit. "I still can't believe she told my mom."

"Me neither." Harry shook his head slightly. "We had it all worked out for you too."

"I appreciate it."

"D'awww, you're making me blush." Harry teased with a overly cute, high pitch tone.

Uma laughed as she playful slapped Harry's thigh. "Shut up."

"How are we gonna get her back?" Harry asked, enveloping Uma's hand with his.

Uma looked up at Harry with a furrowed brown. This time she sported the mischievous, playful grin. "I've got an idea."

Like music to his ears, Harry grinned back.
