What would be their strategy if they suddenly had to use a different team for a bit, and/or had to pick from selections at a Battle Factory? What would they focus on? How adaptable are they? Anyone you want, but the main characters and/or their rivals at least! But the more the better, I guess.

// Brendan may be Hoenn’s future champion, however adaptability isn’t exactly his forte! If he can’t use his pokemon, or the match doesn’t follow the rules established by the League he falters- a lot.

He excels at single battles, double, triple and even rotation battles are quite challenging for him.

Raising and training his pokemon, means he gets to explore and know each individual’s strong and weak points. He knows exactly what will work, for each one of them. The bond he builds and establishes with them, is also essential for him. Unfortunately, in the scenario of swapping teams? Brendan finds himself having a hard time, trusting on these new pokemon- being able to perform the strategies and his tactics for battles.

In every single adventure/travel he has gone through in other regions. He would always bring alongside his Blaziken, meaning he needed at least one of his main partners all the time with him.

He is unfortunately, way too stuck on his ways- and strategies. He is incredibly lackluster, at coming up with entire new strategies on the spot. Because of this, he has always avoided the battle frontier. Their rules and challenges, would simply expose these huge flaws on him. Even though it would be better for him to try and address these flaws, while still young.

This becomes a huge problem down the line for him.

// While still young, Barry would struggle if he were thrown into a situation like this. However, unlike Brendan he would have an easier time adapting to new pokemon. In every region he visited, and put himself through the League challenges, he would always make sure to come up with a whole new and different team to use.

Barry becomes extremely experimental, he tries to mimic strategies and tactics used by others who happens to use the same kind of pokemon and he had battled against (e.g.: If he finds himself using a Raichu, he will immediately try to mimic the same things someone like Volkner used against him in the past). He still prioritizes speed and attack, but it is a whole new and different experience from facing him with a team he raised and trained.

When he grows older, he becomes a frontier brain. During his training and studies for it, he gets to study the battle factory and numerous kinds of different strategies. Meaning, his adaptability and versatility skills become even sharper.

However as an adult, he starts prioritizing stalling strategies- abusing status conditions and stage hazards. He is way less erratic, than his earlier years.
