He's been stubborn and insisting that he wasn't tired and didn't need sleep. So naturally, as it was destined to happen, he was slumbering now with his lips slightly parted and frowning in his sleep every once in a while. All in all, peaceful. A sight of unfamiliar vulnerability. And with his arms moving to wrap around Lucy at some point, Freed huddled up to his girlfriend and nuzzled the curve between her neck and shoulder. after a long mission, they both needed rest. freed though, stubborn as always, had insisted on lucy's relaxation before his own -- but, the celestial mage had foreseen this, and settled into a book instead to tire her eyes, though she kept one on freed from atop the book's spine.

it wasn't long before sleep took her boyfriend. at first, he simply looked peaceful, and relaxed. but it wasn't long before he began to shift around and curl up, that's when lucy set the book she'd been half reading down, turned off the light, and lifted the covers over them both.

he reached out to pull her body against him, and lucy laughed against his chest, slipping into his strong arms with ease. gentle hands reached up as he settled himself against her, and nimble fingers slipped into silken green locks. as gently as possible, lucy pulled at the hair tie that held his hair back, and tossed it on her night stand. once long green locks were free her hands didn't leave his scalp, lightly she ran her fingers through freed's hair, with a small contented sigh as she herself got comfortable.

once they were both settled, lucy couldn't help watching freed as he slept. it was truly such a sweet thing. never had lucy seen her captain so peaceful, if only she had a way to capture this moment. his hand slipped up her side, and soon freed's head fell into the crook of her neck. with a sigh, nestled against him, lucy pulled the covers over them both, kissed freed's cheek and whispered, " goodnight, " just as she shut her eyes. sleep found her shortly after.
