The words of a yaksha were absolute and a promise from one was ironclad - such were things written in the tomes and texts of Liyue's history and legacy. It made sense here in the land of contracts, that even a verbal contract like a promise would carry much weight. Xiao was an individual of fewer words than most, but that just meant that everything he said felt all the more meaningful. So it only felt right to also be just as resolute as the other - Aether more than happy to accompany the other into the city limits when Xiao had expressed a degree of willingness to enter the harbor.

Of course, thoughts of what occurred not too long ago at Lantern Rite came to mind as Xiao's expectation of a small meeting with his lord the Wangsheng Funeral Consultant and the director quickly became a second gathering of people met at the festival. Even without the presence of Venti, there were other people who were dropping by now, since their particular venue was a little more out in the open compared to the privacy of a restaurant. Conversation from the yaksha slowly began to dissolve the longer the evening stretched and when Aether caught the direct gaze of Xiao, he made good on his own promise to keep an eye out for the yaksha.

"Actually guys, there was something I wanted to discuss with Xiao - it's kinda related to some stuff back at the Inn and it's getting kinda late, so... catch you guys next time?" Tilting his head over towards the street, he beckoned the other over. Xiao didn't have to actually walk him back to the Inn, he was free to leave once they reached the outskirts of the city again, but that was up to him.

The descent downward was undoubtedly time consuming. It was to the point the funeral director began to wonder when she would reach some form of stable ground. She edged herself carefully down the jagged rock walls..taking advantage of some of the wooden ladders that were left in place their prior. After a while she finally reached the first leveled platform that overlooked the main entrance of the The Chasm.

She took a note that it was just one of the many abandoned mining camps that were scattered through the underground labyrinth. Signs that workers tried to leave in a hurry were present in the form of misplaced tools and unmade cots. It was hard not to tell something was amiss about the place. Her attention turned toward one of the damaged logs. It covered stained with an odd substance she managed to carefully open to read its contents, though she didn't get far into read when she heard a familiar voice nearby.

"Obviously to get some poetic inspiration~," Hu Tao replied in a musing tone looking up from the book. Oh, she knew Xiao wouldn't buy that. But it was worth a shot. Still perhaps there was some half truth to that.

No. He at least deserved to know why she was there.

"Aiya. Fine. Did you think I wasn't going to learn about last expedition here? There's evidence of a corrupted place in Liyue. It would be wrong if someone from of my lineage did not to investigate this."

"Ya know, I could ask you the very same thing? It's for the same reason, isn't it?"

Oh! Now this was a surprise. She was happily chillin and relaxing, like normal. Enjoy a good handheld game in her hands, her feet up. Only to have this dropped before her, leaving her a bit speechless to begin with, but shaking her head and getting herself back in the zone.

She loves a surprise, and this certain was, and a surprise of this standard, deserves a proper reaction. Much like giving the best gift, to someone in one of those dating RPGs that she knows of, or even a friendship based one.

As she properly reacts, but giving something that is rarely seen by most people...A sweet warm smile.

I know I state that Silver Wolf isn't too into it, but in general, I would say she has done the business before. She has dived into it. Curiosity killed the cat as one may say. While she isn't active in the thought of it, she has least finger blasted.

What is your muse’s sexuality?

This is...Subjective to me. Because honestly, I don't see ANY of the Stellaron Hunters to be straight, or bi, or gay. That's not because of my own opinions in sense, but more that looking at their characters in detail, it's more the idea of love doesn't really cross me.

Blade...I mean, if you thought of his past, then would've said yes. Blade as he is now? Hell no. No way love and him come into the same sentence. Kafka is a tease, the issue with her, is that I feel like cause of where she is from, it's a bit...Yeah. I feel like while she can love, but I feel she'd more find it amusing to tease someone, rather than full on love in sense of swinging in a direction, as she'd do it to ANYONE.

As for Silver Wolf...I know, people will pinpoint the obvious. She's a Bronya. Bronya is normally with Seele. But right now, Silver Wolf has NO Seele. Her entire character doesn't really scream any which way, which is why I feel like Silver Wolf is asexual for sure.

[ EXTRA ] - Candace [ EXTRA ]:    sender hands the receiver a spare weapon during a fight to give them a better chance after they break or lose their own.

It was no surprise to the traveler that Candace was quite fierce in battle, one did not become the guardian of Aaru Village without some high degree of training and self discipline. Indeed, for all the hospitality that she had given himself, Paimon, and many others, there was a severe of tolerance that came from those who trampled over the rules she held dear. As for himself, he wasn't the kind of person who would let someone go into battle alone if he was there to help - so when news that a new wave of bandits were making their way towards the village after catching wind of a particularly lucrative day that merchants had, he offered up arms immediately.

Thus, it was a little embarrassing when the darkness of the night combined with unique challenge of finding footing in loose, fine sand meant he was a little late on a parry to an axe swing - non dominant hand already starting to gather anemo energy into his palm to push back the bandit enough to retrieve his sword from the sand. Such wasn't necessary though, not when the business end of a spear sank deep into the sand near him, golden gaze raising enough to catch that knowing one in Candace's eyes.

"I'll be borrowing this for a sec then!" Familiarizing himself with other weapons would be paying off today, it seemed!

[ COVER ] - Xiao [ COVER ]:    sender lunges forward to throw their body over the receiver and shield them from harm during a fight.

The last thing Aether wanted to be was a burden in the middle of a fight - least of all to someone who had always been reluctant to accept help and fight in the company of others. Xiao's reluctance was understandable though; the sheer power of his skills along with the lingering effects of his karmic debt were palpable any time the traveler had the chance to experience the other in battle. At the same time, if there was anyone who he wanted to lessen the burden for, it was Xiao. Getting the other to even converse with him at first had taken time, so getting Xiao to agree to some company whilst hunting demons had taken an immeasurable amount of time comparatively.

The handful of times that he managed to see Xiao in the midst of battle were honestly a treat - the mastery the other had with the jade spear merged seamlessly with his elemental power, movements fluid to the point where it could almost be a dance. It was a dance of demon subjugation, as Zhongli once told Aether over a pot of tea, and apparently it was mesmerizing to both demon and mortals alike.

It was only when golden gaze aligned with amber hues and the traveler could read the flash of panic even through the mask did he remember just how quickly the tides of battle could change with even a moment of unawareness - swirl of dark and teal energies slicing across the air in a bid to beat the icy quills of an abyss mage with an eye for opportunity. The yaksha's body practically collided with his own, breath effectively knocked out of him as the roars of the mask echoed in his ears, rush of anemo whipping around the both of them with the chill of cryo pushing forth after.

One moment stretched into another longer moment and when neither of them moved despite that, he realized that the yaksha's plan was never to move, but to endure.

Geo energy gathered in his palm immediately, other arm wrapping tight around Xiao's frame to pull him even closer if possible - fingers snapping open sharply to draw up a cocoon of protective stone around the both of them in the next second. The dull thudding of ice from the outside drew a sigh of relief from the traveler, grip still tight around the yaksha.

"...that was my fault. I'm sorry - are you okay?"
