Observing Zane Flynt WAY too closely! - Style Headcanons:

While looking at Zane’s cosplay guide, I’ve gotten a few ideas, so it’s time to share!

Hair:

-Zane cuts his own hair. He doesn’t trust anyone with anything sharp near him, so he does it himself. Looking at the back of his head, you can see it’s a tad messy/inconsistent, indicating (to me) that he has to do it himself and maybe he doesn’t always have access to a mirror while doing so, but he tries! And it WORKS.

-He probably keeps it short as to avoid being grabbed, also. Not so fun having your hair grabbed by someone swinging a blade around...

Jacket:

-Zane’s jacket is for sure his signature look. But if you look at the spider emblem on the back? It’s not perfectly symmetrical. He designed it himself AND sewed it himself.

-The jacket has some special abilities to it, most likely. The subtle lights, aesthetic for sure. He likely has some emergency measures inside of it to assist in keeping him alive. Maybe, if ever his hands are unavailable, something in his jacket allows him to activate his gadgets. Something inside to help him escape from any situation that’s a little too sticky for his liking...

Under Armour?:

-The black part of his outfit underneath the jacket/shirt? Under armour, of course. The part covering his neck? Added layer of protection. May not be completely bulletproof or damage proof, but it’s an extra layer between him and certain death, eh? Mistakes should be a learning lesson, of course.

-He probably has something hidden on his neck, whether it be scars from an attempt on his life, or some branding from one of the companies he’s worked for.

Pants:

-The layering of different fabrics makes me think that perhaps it was a gift, or a stolen idea, from Maliwan. (Maliwan was once friendly with him, as not only has he worked for literally everyone, it was pointed out to me that some Maliwan soldiers will excitedly say hello to Zane, before trying to kill him.) To me, it looks as if it’s supposed to be elemental-proof. (Gameplay aside!)

Boots:

-I personally think that he does have his flesh legs still, but perhaps the boots assist in his speed. The design confuses me a tad! With his almost wheezing after running, makes me think he might not be used to running so fast. Or he’s just got asthma. (cybernetic/prosthetic legs headcanon is totally valid, btw!) Maybe he does have some cybernetics in his legs, I have no idea.

-The lights at the toe of his boots? Hidden weapon! Perhaps it’s a hidden laser and if he needs to ever use it, he can do some cool kick and stab someone with his foot!

Overall/Random Ideas:

-He has hidden gadgets EVERYWHERE. Anything to help in a fight, anything to help if he’s ever in danger/at a disadvantage.

-The port on the side of his neck is connected to any/all of his cybernetics. Helps steal files and other spy stuff, of course. Helps download any upgrades/whatnot.

-The pockets on his belt hold important stuff, like emergency snacks, or maybe something to throw in people’s eyes.

-Zane is good at way too much and probably designed his entire outfit/other stuff bcuz AESTHETIC. Aesthetic is a completely valid reason. It meshes well with practicality, like a puzzle! Puzzles and problem solving are mmmm!!

Facts about Zane Flynt/The Flynt Clan

Heyo! So since Zane is becoming a main character in my fic The Timekeepers Gambit, I’ve decided to post backstory facts for him from my AU. It helps one understand where he’s coming from in regards to the way he acts at times, or how he thinks, or how his family functions. Of course if y’all have any questions or want clarification on something, please feel free to ask!

-Zane is the youngest of four children. His older siblings are Baron, Captain, and Treasure. His was an accidental pregnancy that his father didn’t want. He left before Zane was born after being given the choice to leave and never return, or shut up and accept his new child.

-Zane’s mother is the Head of the Flynt Clan. Captain was to be the next Head after his son Sparky was born, since having an heir is usually a requirement for ascending to lead the Clan. After Baron, Captain, and Sparky were killed, Treasure was to be the next Head of the family. She however has disowned the Flynt Clan after marriage and the birth of her son Myron. Treasure also took on her husband’s name, breaking one of the laws of the Clan. She is no longer eligible to lead the family.

-Zane is the only other member of the Main family left, but is ineligible to be handed over the leadership and let his mother retire due to having no children of his own. This was later rescinded upon adoption of Wyn.

-A bored day plus wanting to try and find her family led Wyn to do extensive DNA and family history research with the help of ATLAS resources. It was discovered that Wyn and Zane’s family share a common ancestor.

-The Flynt Clan are descended from Biddy Early, a White Witch from Old World Ireland born in the late 1790’s. The females of her bloodline were born with her gifts, but it has diluted over time. Females born into the family have become rarer and more scarce over the generations, leading to a female born into the family, especially one born with their ancestral gifts, to be seen as a blessing upon the Clan.

-Zane’s sister is the first female born to the Flynts in twelve generations. If she has inherited any of the gifts, she’s kept that information well hidden from everyone else.

-Wyn sharing a blood connection with the Flynts, distant as it may be, makes her adoption “legal” for Zane to claim the title of Head of the Clan. The fact she’s also a Siren, which the Flynt Clan believes means she’s a witch, and already having a child adds legitimacy to said claim.

-He will not take over as Head of the Flynt Clan until his mother retires, which won’t happen until a few years after the events of Borderlands 3

-The Flynt Clan was one of the first bandit clans established after the Corporate Wars ended and the leftover slaves had to fight to survive. The family had a different surname that has been lost to time. They took up the name “Flynt” from their use and love of pyrotechnics.

-They are the oldest Clan family left on Pandora, all the others either dying off, or their family names being forgotten due to their members going Psycho from the Song of the planet.

-Unlike other bandit clans, the Flynts prefer to remain neutral, only really becoming involved in fights or politics when an outsider makes it a personal fight for them.

-They are compassionate individuals who love deeply and see family as the most important thing. Any wrongdoing to a member of the family, whether it be a Main member or Branch member, is met with swift retribution. If a member of the family becomes aware of wrongdoing to one of its members, they are to swear a Blood Oath to seek vengeance, no matter how long it takes. If they are going to die before said vengeance can be fulfilled, they are to find a successor who can finish their work for them.

-Theirs is a well respected family by Native Pandorans. A strike against the Flynt Clan will cause Natives to riot, as the family is well known for taking others under their banner for protection and always keeping their word. They do not discriminate against a being unless it will harm the family.

Guarded Like the Night Air Ch. 2

Chapter 2: Refreshing Like the Mornings

Characters: Wainwright Jakobs, Alistair Hammerlock, Zane Flynt

Rating: T+ for mention of sex and the do in a study

Summary: Zane wakes up in Wainwright and Alistair's bed slightly disoriented. His body is sore, his throat and nose hurts, his body needs to let it all out. But he needs something to break it for him so he can drain himself dry after aching for so long.

Zane could feel the air conditioner on his bare back. His lower body was nice and warm under the covers of his bed, his arms tucked under his pillow, his face mooshed into the sweet smelling pillow cover. He knew he was going to have creases on his face when he got up, that’s how it always was when he slept like a rock. He could hear snoring next to him. A little wheezy through a half plugged nose. Zane’s eyes shot open and he gently pushed himself up, arms coming from under his pillow.

It took him a moment to realize that he wasn’t in his bed at all, that he had in fact been taken to Wainwright and Alistair’s room the night before. He had slept in between the pair after having some help undressing down to his boxer-briefs and the slightly sun-bleached black ankle brace. “It’s my dominant foot so- best to keep all possibilities for injuries covered.” Zane had said as Alistair had slowly peeled it off and put it, and Zane’s clothes, into the laundry shute like most of the others had done yesterday afternoon, bathing and cleaning themselves up before having a laundry droid bring them their clean clothes. Alistair had grabbed Zane’s heel and massaged his sore ankle and calf for about a solid minute before Zane had to interrupt, “Anymore Laddy and I won’t be awake much longer.” He had to tease or else he would have started crying out at how good it felt to be touched with care.

Now however Zane was awake, nearly naked, in Wainwright and Alistair’s bed. He looked at his cream coloured pillow case with sleep squinted eyes, crusty in the corners from sleep and maybe tears he couldn’t wipe away during the night. His nose and throat hurt a lot, that came with being touch starved and having more than one good touch at a time. He could feel the cool room air as his arms left their warm encasement and the covers slipped a little farther down his back.

When he looked up he saw a rich oak headboard stained a deep cherry hue with cogs, and mechanical parts, and bullet butts carved into the wood in such delicate detail, he saw at either side were slats that went from thick to thin in pairs until their reached the bed posts that shot up into a supple red canopy with gold trim, the curtains on the sides closed but the foot of the bed was left open for air to circulate. Zane thought it fit the pair, rich and royal with many a personal touch.

He looked at where he could hear the snoring, Alistair, hair a wild mess against the pillow, his hand by his cheek as he laid on his back with his face towards Zane. His beard and mustache were also in disarray much like his hair. Zane’s smile was quirked to one side as he burned the image into his head. It was gentle on his mind after a turmoil filled afternoon and evening. It was also noted that the harness and mechanical arm Alistair wore were off, leaving behind a scarred stump that Zane ached a bit for. It may look the same for his leg as well. But it was part of him. Zane had to keep a soft groan down as his eyes scanned lower and saw two peaked nipples from the cold, surrounded by a field of dark skin that looked soft and a healthy smattering of small curls in tones of grey and brown. Alistair also had some beauty marks that Zane wanted to poke at and play connect the dots with his fingertips.

“I take it you aren’t used to waking up with someone next to you ? Or is it because whoever you were with has gone already.” Wainwright’s voice was warm even with those words. Something about his voice soothed every ache that he brought up in two short sentences.

“Something like that.” Zane replied with a croak. His accent was thicker than the water on Eden-6, his tongue lazy in his mouth after sleep.

Wainwright hummed, earning Zane’s attention with a slow turn of his silver haired head. “You’re just like Alistair and myself.”

Zane’s eyebrows rose in question.

“Accent forward in the mornings.” Wainwright’s eyes were lidded with sleep, but he was awake and reading from a good old fashioned book, a dim lamp clipped to the headrest. He was sitting up and laying against a couple of pillows for support. His thumb and pinkie kept the book spread while his other hand rested at his waist on the covers. For no reason other than Zane’s own body screaming it at him, the simple sight of Wainwright’s large hands and the sleep addled hair and face made for such an erotic sight. “I enjoy that aspect of the morning even when everything else is shit. But that’s not what this’mornin is.”

Zane licked his lips, feeling how chapped and bitten they were, peeling a little from overworking himself as he and the team chased the twins and the vaults through the galaxy. He could tell his cheeks were slightly red still from the wind burn he had gotten on Pandora that he was recovering from. He had bruises from where he had kept his Echo eye on too long that had really come in yesterday on the steps. He ached all over from finally stopping for more than a couple days. But he felt like a million bucks as Wainwright lifted his free hand as an invite.

“It’ll be awhile before Alistair even thinks about waking up, always been like that with late nights.” Wainwright chuckled softly, his belly moving with it.

Zane moved slowly, turning onto his side and moving in close under Wainwright’s arm so his head could rest just under Wainwright’s shoulder. The man smelt like cigar smoke and gunpowder but it was subtle and welcoming. His chest was as suntanned as his arms and face, probably having his shirt off in the heat of Eden-6 when he was working. Even if that didn’t make sense in Zane’s head as Wainwright had bots at his call and people to do a lot of the physical work. But weirder shite has been seen. Wainwright’s chest hair was grey and white, slightly curly but soft looking over an equally pillow soft chest that Zane knew concealed some damn fine muscle. He had a fair few scars in lines and puckers from scratches and bullets, one patch of small puckers and bursts looked like birdshot from a shotgun.

Zane went to lift his hand to touch, but stopped halfway to what he knew was warm skin. He could barely handle being so damn close with his cheek pressed to sleep warm and clean sweat smelling skin, anything else so close to his waking would surely set him into a tizzy. Instead he motioned to the small patch. “What happened here?” Zane asked.

“A hunting accident when I was younger. Me and a few friends went out towards Ambermire for some fowl, ended up getting plugged a mere thirty feet away from our tents when I was coming back from pissing behind a tree. The moron didn’t even bother to call out who was there, just shot first and asked after. Never went hunting with us overnight again. Poor sap. Hurt like hell though. Took a couple’a hours to get everything out and cleaned. My daddy didn’t let me go hunting for a few months after my recovery. Didn’t bother me none as I didn’t much care for the sport.” Wainwright dog eared his book, setting it down beside him by his pillows where there was enough space for it to sit nicely not fall off. His drawl was thick and Zane tingled as each word dripped southern comfort from Wainwright’s lips.

“Don’t go back to sleep now, it's just past 9 o’clock, any more sleep and you’d screw up your sleeping habits.” Wainwright teased.

“Can’t help it. You sound like a damned audiobook reading a wet dream.” Zane murmured, his lilt just as strong. “All soothin like and a good kind of sticky, warm honey and all those niceties.”

“He is right, Winny.” Alistair mumbled behind them, sucking in a deep breath as he stretched out on his back, muscles tensing and making Alistair shiver in his spot. As Alistair scooted up behind Zane with some distance Zane noted that his leg was also off, half his thigh making a short lump under the covers. “A dream in all cases. Wet or no.”

Wainwright hummed a laugh, and smiled warm at the two. “You’re both itchin for some attention aren’t you?” Wainwright nudged Zane back, extracting his arm as Zane moved to press back into Alistair’s chest, tensing slightly at new contact but thoroughly enjoying being pushed around a little, being encompassed by another’s body.

“Hello, sweetheart. Sleep alright?” Alistair asked, sounding crisp like his home world. It was wonderfully lush in Zane’s ears.

“Didn’t move at all. Don’t think I had a sleep like that in ages.”

“Glad to hear it.” Alistair didn’t even think before nuzzling his face into the back of Zane’s neck, taking in sleep and sun before pressing warm lips to cool skin.

Zane couldn’t hold back his whimper, tucking his body closer to himself but also pressing fully back into Alistair.

Alistair pulled his face away, “Oh my, I’m sorry Zane, I forgot myself for a moment. Did I hurt you?”

Even shivering with need and too much Zane shook his head. “No. It’s a lot to handle, but you didn’t hurt me. The opposite.” Zane could feel his skin buzz with need. “Very opposite.” He could feel his need spread from his neck and back, down his spine and into his belly and legs.

Wainwright had fixed his pillow, tossing the other one out the foot of the bed and onto the floor. “Don’t break him, Alistair, at least not yet.” Wainwright kept his hips back from Zane, angling himself a little diagonally so he could keep close without letting Zane feel how he slept naked entirely. “Let’s just take it slow until you can take more than some touches before feeling overwhelmed. It may take awhile, be prepared for that. But there are ways to- uh.”

Alistair rolled his eyes a little. “He’s a terribly shy man when it comes to the bedroom and actually talking about matters that involve sex and whatnot. If you ever get the need to have sex with either or both of us, such as now, and you don’t have the capacity to accept more than few points of touch, such as now, then don’t ever be afraid to ask for something. We have other methods besides penetration or other physical forms of stimulation. We can use dirty talk if you like, or sweet talk if you prefer. Watching each other is another favourite of ours when we don’t feel like doing the work that’s involved in the traditional matters. I think we still have toys left in their packages that we either got doubles of or just never got around to using. We don’t even need to be involved my dear, we can simply let you be on your own for such events. We have a well stocked bathroom. We could even leave the bedroom for you.” Alistair nuzzled the back of Zane’s head, softer this time, slower. “We’ll make sure you get what you want and need but that also has to come with the healing process in mind. Touch starvation is a rough matter that cannot be overlooked. We care for you Zane, we don’t want to hurt you at all.”

Wainwright nodded along, blushing wildly but letting Alistair lay out the ground for them all.

Zane shuddered again, grabbing at Wainwright’s forearm and holding on as a wave of too much crashed over him, eyes squeezing tight as Alistair pulled back again, slower this time. Zane let himself ride the feeling a little before slowly relaxing again. “Closer.” He whispered to Wainwright, needing to be at least bracketed in order for his mind to stop the mantra of They’re going to leave.

“I’m nak-”

“Winny, I am too. Just- come on.” Alistair sighed a little, they were both very careful and Zane adored that, but he could also take the fact that two out of the three of them were in the nude without being a giddy mess. He may have a high sex drive but care and comfort came first.

“I’m a little hard from- all of this.” Zane decided to say what was going on, let them know what he needed and what was happening. “I’m overwhelmed and on edge. I need you to be surrounding me, my mind won't stop whispering the possibilities that you two will leave- or that I’m in some sick nighterror. Pretty sure I’m shivering constantly but I can’t rightly tell. Everythin is too much and not enough. I couldn’t care less if either of you were naked or fully clothed in winter gear, I just need you both to be here and close.” Zane brought his arms in, letting go of Wainwright, and tucked them into his chest.

Alistair nodded, heart aching for the man between him and his boyfriend. “It’s alright sweetheart, you have us here for you. Let yourself feel everything and let it go.” He breathed softly as he pressed his amputated upper arm lightly to Zane’s ribs, his other arm sliding under the man to pull him back snugly. “We have you.”

Wainwright wiggled himself into his usual place if he were cuddling Alistair, pulling the covers up around them all and tucking Zane under his chin as he wrapped his arm over the pair. “It’s okay Zane, you’re gonna be okay darlin’” Wainwright could feel the shivers. And both Alistair and Wainwright looked at each other when they finally heard Zane break into tears. Shoulder heaving, big fat tear having, slobber and snot making tears. “There we go, that a boy.” Wainwright encouraged it, loosening his hold because he knew that crying required a lot of space to breath. He didn’t move though, and neither did Alistair. “Give us everything Zane, we’ll catch you.”

maple - is there a hobby / skill that you’ve always wanted to try but never did?

I wanted to get into stick-n-poke tattoos, I have had an idea for one for a long time, but im too chicken shit that ill mess it up. Most other things I am willing to take that plunge, but I just can't with that D:

harvest - what fictional character do you most identify with? Why?

Uhh this one is hard. I feel a connection to a general type of character, someone who doesn't need to be front and center, but is competent. I guess the best ideas that I can think of on the spot are Aizawa and Arthur. Though, weirdly enough I do occasionally find myself connecting with over the top characters (maybe its a facade) like Zane Flynt...but deep down I'm a Timothy Lawrence lol. (We all have been hurt by someone, no?)

bonfire - describe your dream house.

Ha, my dream house is a weird mix, I really like houses that have character, whether that is gingerbreading or or other fun things, but i also like simple houses. River rock, Dutch colonials, a-frame cabins. I'm truly all over the board.

I would honestly love a nice A frame somewhere surrounded by wilderness. I love the idea of the house being in a forest where it snows, but i am also obsessed with the southern cypress swamps and southern gothic flair. (This might be one of 900 reasons I don't have my own house yet)

The kitchen has a lot of counter space and its open, dark cabinets and fixtures with light counters. The living area is deep leathers with light floors and pops of color, comfortable and inviting.

There isn't really a theme, but there is exposed beams, lol.

Under appreciated things in BD3

Because I finished watching a Zane play through and I noticed far too much for any normal human being.

A) spoilers

B) I have no idea how to do a read more. Sorry.

Zane is ridiculously tall. He’s like a solid head and neck taller than pretty much everyone he meets

Fl4k’s body shape is completely unknown. They could be shaped like a human, or like one of them service bots, or even just a square, but we don’t know

Lorelie’s troops call her “sir” (this is after she says “password’s: open the bloody door before I shove a coffee grinder up your arse.”)

All of the sanctuary’s echo logs explain their back story. Zane’s is the only one that doesn’t follow this pattern

Fl4k’s tells us that they were a regular butler-type bot for a rich guy

Moze was on her last mission, but had been told this a few times

Amara has outgrown tier “friendly neighbor hood Spider-Man” and was drawn to Pandora because she’s a siren

All we know about Zane is that he went to Pandora to lay low because so many people were out to kill him. We literally have no idea why

Ava knows about Captain Flynt. She follows Claptrap around while he tells her stories and while we don’t hear it, he probably tells her that one too. The eldest Flynt brothers are mentioned a few times but nobody makes the connection between them and Zane. This is probably just because the lines have to fit all four characters, but I still found this interesting

Moze is on Pandora for no reason other than she cares so much about Iron Bear, she’d be willing to get herself killed while trying to get money to keep him running and this is adorable

Not only does Zane’s jacket have the Spider-Man symbol’s on the back, he literally has hard light Wolverine claws. He’s a massive nerd and I love him.

Moze and Zane are literally insane. Moze laughs way too much during battle and Zane just casually admits he always hears screaming and he knows it’s not real

Amara’s the only one that doesn’t wear armour. Moze wears the military uniform (or most of it), Zane wears his under his clothes and Fl4k doesn’t need anymore than his metal outer layer. She exposes herself quite a bit and I think this has something to do with the tattoos

Maya, Troy, Tyreen, Lilith and Tannis all expose their tattoos, or at least their arm. It’s like they need to be uncovered for some reason

Moze and Amara are really concerned about going inside a head, Fl4k seems interested in the idea and Zane is way too enthusiastic about it

All of them admit Vaughn is decently good looking

Fl4k flirts with Ellie, Zane flirts with Vaughn and Amara flirts with Moxxi, and that’s just scratching the surface. It’s like Moze is the only one with any level of reserve and this is hilarious

Zane never mentions his brothers by their last name, and he even seems cautious about saying their first names on an entirely different planet

All of them have a surprising amount of character development despite being just playable characters

Amara expects people on different planets to know her name, despite never reaching outside of her little home town. It’s like she wants the fame, but she’s scared to get it, and Pandora is her next step to getting over that fear and getting what she wants

Zane, despite being so extroverted and friendly, is shockingly slow to trust people. He barely bats an eye at the fact that somebody he seemed to know quite well just tried to kill him, and he gets frustrated when he realises just before the fight with Tyreen that he actually likes them. This is like an hour before the end of the game, if not later

On top of this, it’s near enough impossible to tell his opinions about pretty much anyone. It’s as if he genuinely just doesn’t care about people to the point where he doesn’t even bother with an opinion of them

Moze is completely unaffected by gunfire, which is weird for a soldier whose just left the military. In her trailer, she barely even opens her eyes as bullets fly over her head

Fl4k’s not at all interested in the vaults and seems only to be on Pandora for the killing. It’s like they’re not really human-level sentient, but sentient enough to know that they want to kill and they prefer animals to people

On the other hand, they don’t hesitate to help the Crimson Raiders. If they prefer people, surely they’d be better on their own

Going back to Zane’s opinion of people, he must know by the end of the game Lilith and the Crimson Raiders had something to do with Barron and Captain’s death and yet he shows no resentment towards any of them

The one thing that made me like Tannis was how, when she asked Typhon is if he was with anyone and he said he lost his wife, she backed off completely. She was still fangirling over him, but she didn’t flirt with him or show any interest in him while she was around him after she found out

Tannis gets attached to objects a lot. She was in a relationship with a mine cart for God’s sake

The character, regardless of which one you play as, will stay completely silent when Ava shouts at Lilith for wanting to go after the vaults after Maya dies. I feel like if anyone would have said anything then it would have been Zane and Amara, but no. Nobody says anything, and most people leave

It seems like Zane actually has had all sorts of jobs, just not the ones he stated in his trailer. He joined a Black Ops outfit, he said he went to the same assassins bars as Zero, so he was most likely an assassin, he’d worked for Maluwan and all the others he said in the echo log and now he’s a vault hunter. Just let the old man retire for Christ’s sake

BALEX doesn’t ask to be taken out of the teddy. Ever.

Claptrap appears all over the ship but can’t get up and down stairs. Conclusion: Ava carries him.

There is no bed in the player’s room on the Sanctuary, only a cushioned window seat. I wouldn’t mind since Fl4k doesn’t even need to sleep, Moze seems quite comfortable sleeping anywhere and Amara’s probably quite flexible, but Zane’s going on sixty and is literally living out his retirement at this moment. Just give this old man a break pLEASE-

Saw the opening cinematic for Borderlands 3...

Absolutely liked how they continued the Running Gag about the last character being introduced with a Self-Explanatory description...

BL 1: Brick as Himself.

This makes quite a bit of sense. One look at Brick and you can tell: "Yes. He is an absolute Heavyweight Hitter. A Tank. He is quite literally a brick!" He doesn't need anything else.

BL 1.5: FR4G-TP as A Mistake.

Which is more of a joke being jabbed at how terrible of an idea turning a CL4P-TP General Purpose Robot into a fighting machine is, considering how much of a coward he is. Although he does make up for it with only needing the Oz Kits for Jump Boosts and Slams (Since he doesn't need to breath) and having access to many of the Vault Hunters' Specials (As well as a few extra of his own).

Also, TIL that Claptrap means absurd or nonsensical talk or ideas.

Which is exactly what Clap-Trap is like.

BL 2: Zer0 as A Number.

He's an assassin. It's kind of a jab towards how special agents and assassins will go by numbers (Like James Bond "007" and Agent 47).

BL 3: Zane Flynt as Himselves.

Cause he has access to a Digiclone Construct, which lets him make that joke. Plus, he can switch places with his Digiclone, so he really is himselves.

I will have to say that I loved the cinematic due to its referencing to two parts of the opening cinematic of Borderlands 1:

The Bandit getting run over by the Bandit Technical is reminiscent to how the Skag got hit by Marcus's Bus (If you were to put those two scenes side-by-side, you could tell they're shot the same way as well).

The ending where Marcus's bus pulls up and he goes to the door asking who's getting on reminds me of how in Borderlands 1, when he pulls up outside of Fyrestone he asks who's getting off. A full circle.

Now, as much as I would love to play Borderlands 3, I don't have an Epic Stores account (I'm a Steam guy), so either I will have to wait quite a while (For Borderlands 3 to be released on Steam), buy it for the PS4 (Which means I won't be able to play multiplayer since I don't have a Plus account and I haven't really connected it online since the Summer of 2018, or get an Epic account and enough money to buy BL3 and later Add-ons.

God, I hate exclusivity...

I don't even know where to begin with this universe (Zer0 is an alien! Hammerlock is a werewolf! Troy is psychic! Tannis is a skag! Wait, no, wrong shitpost...) so imma open the 140 page document and start from the beginning

Annnnd Clay! Junpai-7.

When Zane meets Clay for the first time he mentions they did a smuggling job together on Junpai-7, u know, the water planet, so obviously this is good news (This made me super happy because my discord channel's name had been the junpai-7 moon pool for a while so I was like 'holy shit it's canon now' :') )

Timeline wise this isn't the beginning, but I don't write in chronological order and I don't order anything in chronological order, either, so. Eh.

Speaking of chronological order, I once got a line where Zane was like exclaiming something and used the moon instead of idk a god or powerful figure or smth and I was like 'lmao that's canon now'

So the moon... Elpis fucking got yeeted halfway across the galaxy or smth, and, considering we've seen (more) ocean on Pandora in 3 instead of just, like, Liars Berg (getting to THAT) or Tretchers landing, I feel bad for the tides. But that's good news for everyone else. Unless you were on Elpis, I guess.

Also hoh boy the 'end' of the game where Troy Phaselocks the moon was fun to write (it actually wasn't, I lowkey hate writing Moonstruck phases because... It hurts and I can't do it well.) also can we talk about how in tps the psychos are called Moonstrucks in tvhm because this makes me so happy. I really hope they did that intentionally considering H2O is an Australian show because my two favorite things combined can and will kill me. Wait actually the Troy boss fight is gonna be hilarious to write mostly because of that one attack with the tidal waves lol oh no

Also, also, also, you guys it's only explained in a guide book and never actually in-game as to why Captain's ship is Like That (TM) so I took some liberties and uhhh blame the Crackening. I mean the crackening happened after dahl pulled out of Pandora/Elpis so it works. It sorta works. It mostly works. Fuck. It works okay? shut. That's why Liars Berg is all frozen ocean [shoves 3 page essay about climate change on Pandora into the trash] don't need that anymore.

Oh yeah

Mostly brain freeze and trick of the light. That one meme video I made of Tannis and the Flynt Brothers imposed over that one clip of H2O (so let me get this straight: you freeze things, you explode things, and you boil things) wasn't just for laughs, it was actually a warning.

Each Flynt has a thing and Zane's is ice, Baron's is explosions, and Captain's is fire. (Glorious cleansing fire) Because it fits. It fits so well. I will say right off the bat that Mako Mermaids isn't my canon. I lowkey want to write out Charlotte as well (lol) because I've seen the 2nd season so many times and tbh I much prefer them having 1 really strong power over having 3+ really weak powers. Also Charlotte did nothing wrong in the first half of that season. Cleo was just a bitch to her. And Mako Mermaids is just. Not great on the power side of things. You can TURN INVISIBLE. USE IT. Soooo. (also cam got destroyed in s1 and I'm so glad they ended up making him work in s2 and 3. Because he deserved better and Zac was a terrible friend to him and only got away with it because he's a main character). /rant sorry I have so many feelings about these shows. Grew up with them soooooo.

And if ur wondering why I brought up trick of the light it's cause the 13th year exists and that movie was bopping. U guys remember Jess? Good times... Tuba pool scene is iconic. U know the one. I would also bring up aquamarine but ngl that movie was weaksauce comparatively. They hid that bitch in a water tower and iunno talked to earrings. Meanwhile in the 13th year they bring Jess back from the fucking dead and climb on walls like Spiderman. Clearly one is superior.

I'm never kidding unless I am and I fucking love werewolves so I'd never kid about that. I love werewolves and I love Hammerlock and it's perfect I just love the idea of this gentlemanly hunter being a werewolf because I want to see a giant hulking monster being all proper and shit. They're just really cool. Werewolves > vampires and ngl I'm sad skyrim screwed over werewolves with the dawnguard dlc. Anyway Aurelia's ice powers are nanobots as explained in-game and listen I already lore-scienced this okay? Let me say it's amazing the things science is capable of when it thinks it's trying to beat out a competitor and doesn't realize non-Siren magic exists. Even better now that we know Sirens are not Eridian and actually existed before Eridians. Makes me giddy to think about. The universe is tearing me APART Lisa.

Oh speaking of, can we talk about the witch's brew quest on eden-6 because holy shit I had been writing Hiromi and her fascination with discovering all the secret circles long before the game came out and then learning about the group of witches and The Pact (TM) made me lose my shit because 'oh my god it's actually canon now'. We're on the canon path nowwwww. Soon. I hope we get a water planet dlc. I wants it, GB, I wants it.

Also I was totally gonna write a clip in the main story of the game (because I write a lot of backstory stuff if you can't tell, I only have like 3 scenes that take place during the events of the game and like 4 that are speculatory from before the game came out (including a scene from before I realized Troy was Like That but I edited it so he's more in-line and also has Maya's powers now so that's... Hm. In line with the storyline somewhere, but not an actual scene in the games story. Because its not possible with how the game does things (seperating Vault Hunters) I suppose I could just insert a 5th Vault somewhere and say it's the 4th Vault connected to the Machine (with nekrotefeyo's being the 5th). Fuck it.) and then 9,000 are backstory) where Hiromi comes back after like decades of the two not seeing each other and she's been hired to assassinate Zane by one of the many corporations looking for his corpse for a multitude of reasons (And Emma and Nino are both d e a d a s f, you know, for context). And like Barnabas (ya old bastard) Zane is still joking around and just having a grand old time catching up with his black ops buddy meanwhile she had just tried to blow his brains out (she's a sniper) and got pretty damn close. She's not even amused because of her psychic powers so she's just like 'ok' every time he opens his mouth because she already knows what he's going to say she's mostly just frustrated that she missed because she thought she knew him well enough to go off instead of just listening to her intuition but alas people change after, like, 3 decades of not seeing them.

Oh since we're talking about Hiromi that reminds me why Zane wears the black suit. In my non-h2o universe it's because it looks cool and provides some protection from dots. In the H2Oniverse it is because it's waterproof. Okay wait hang on context so Hiromi doesn't like take off his suit or anything, she's extremely gay and not interested, because I realize now how that sounds me relating Hiromi to the clothes, they just get into an argument about how Sirens don't have to follow any arbitrary rules to hide their magic and how it's easier to hide magic without giant glowing tattoos (and mind you this is before Zane even knows Tannis exists though he does immediately know she's a Siren and that's a whole nother can of worms) and hr's like 'I wear a bodysuit for most of my waking hours, so I am pretty sure they can try wearing long sleeved shirts and makeup for a day. Just a suggestion' but like way more in character (and for the scene) because do I sound like I'm in character right now? I'm not. I'm me. And God what a terrible thing to be.

So context for the context: ~magic is real~. If you've got it then you can usually tell who else has it if you're looking. It's especially clear if they're 'similar' to you (if ur a werewolf and u meet another werewolf then you sorta just know they're a werewolf) or if you're psychic (like Hiromi) then you can make some informed guesses. Like. Same Hat? Same Hat!!! Sirens are basically such powerful magic users that they are in literally a whole nother ball park. They're leagues above everyone else. Kill you just by looking at you sort of deal. So sirens normally don't feel other magic because their own magic is so strong it just 'overwrites' the other signals. You know, to not only explain why Lilith isn't immediately like 'who the fuck are you' to Zane and also how Amara couldn't tell Tannis is a Siren. I had a whole thing with Troy (who is psychic) being able to tell Zane had magic despite being near 4 Sirens at once because Troy grew up with Tyreen always at his side so he's used to it and knows how to look through it. Meanwhile Hiromi is basically incapacitated when she's near a Siren because she gets overwhelmed because her powers make it easier for her to read other people's magic.

Oh, context, the black ops outfit worked with Atlas for a short time (the group being Zane, Hiromi, Emma, and Nino. Emma is the yeehaw captain. She's the leader) and ended up meeting Steele for a little bit. Hiromi was just dead the entire meeting, Zane was totally out of it, and Emma and Nino were too busy eyefucking to really care that there was a Siren in the room so. Just imagine one person lying face down on the floor and crying, another staring at the wall without blinking, two undressing each other with their eyes, and then Cmdt. Steele standing in the middle like 'how the fuck did I get here'.

So that was everyone's first experience with a Siren.

There are more but ehhhh I'm tired and I mostly wrote this because I wanted to talk about it with someone else but they haven't read the whole thing yet so now I can scream into the void about it and not feel like I'm bothering them.
