I know it comes from a late and unreliable source, but Peleus being a lover of Hephaestus is so interesting to me. I’d imagine they were together around his younger Argonaut days. It also adds another weird dimension to him marrying Thetis, considering she’s Hephaestus’ adoptive-mother.

Yeah, it’s especially fascinating with how Thetis’s marriage is usually viewed as unconsensual , with Peleus abducting Thetis. I wonder if Hephaestus and Peleus had a falling out bc of that, bc it’s obvious that Hephaestus deeply cares for Thetis.
