Surely he couldn't have eaten your brownies, they were waiting to cool down before you cut them, yet you didn't connect the dots at the time.

The man child was all smiles as he made a joke to not have 'too much fun while he's gone." Little did he know...

Joker was doing his normal thing, quick gang meeting, casual murder and arson, and laughing gas inventory check, all before midnight.

Everything was going fine to the point J wanted to hand over the reins to Frost and head back home until he started to feel off.

Like normal, too mellow. Is that even possible for a man like him? He thought nothing of it, just nodded along during the meeting although his eyesight did get a bit blurry halfway through.

No one noticed Joker’s odd behavior until him and loyal three were out on a run and Frost was talking.

"—too easy. Right J?" No response. Three pairs of curious eyes stared at J who was too busy glancing at his hands to notice. "Yo Boss?" Frost called out again.

"Is he listening to us?" Mac added.

Neo on the other hand leaned across the table to get a good look at his employer. The invasion of privacy gained somewhat of Joker's attention, but he was too lax in moving out of the way.

Now, that everyone noticed. Joker’s reflexes were notoriously fast.

"Holy s__t is you good my guy? You looked smacked." For once Mac agreed with Neo's crass words. Even more bizarre, J nodded along.

"Uh, I'm alright. I just can't feel my life right now." J mumbled. Why was he speaking so normal? 👀

Crickets. Did they hear that right? Frost was the only one brave enough to reply, "What?"

And with a heavy sigh, Joker broke down. "I saiiiiiid, I can't feel my life! What does it all mean if I can't touch it? But more im-port-ant-ly. Why is he so pale?" Joker asked while pointing to Mac. "What was I thinking hiring a flashlight?"

Frost disguised his laugh into a cough. Mac glared at his other coworker openly laughing at the situation, "It’s not funny. Is he high?"

"Oh yes it is flashlight! Aight lemme check. Dilated pupils. Sudden change of behavior or personality. Duh? Hey Boss, did you take a hit tonight?" Neo asked to be for certain.

And then Joker's phone began to ring with your gorgeous face as the contact photo. Joker didn't hesitate answering but he didn't mean to hit speaker in the process.

"Joker?! Are you still alive, you ate an entire pan of 🍃 brownies! Have you been out yet? Please don't tell me your not out high as Cooter Brown with unlimited weapons! You crazy on a normal day, Gotham ain't ready for you in rare form. Come. Home. Now! On second thought, send me your addy. I'm coming to get you. I can’t even get high without you screwing it up!"

You ended the call and the room plunged into silence.

"Oh my God, he is high."

While kinger can only cheer and clap, I think Caine sets off sparkles and fireworks... probably has a whole group of bubbles cheering you on too , assuming there can be multiple bubbles at any given time (I personally think there can be, and they all share a hivemind of sorts)

Says things like "what am I gonna do with you" everyday, always lightheartedly of course and usually accompanied by a tired chuckle

Generally very supportive of you though, just so long as you're not hurting yourself! Sure, this is the digital world and injuries dont really stick, but still! The pain is still there

JAX:

I mentioned the marshmallow test in pomnis part and I feel like jax would do something similar with you. Except the test is rigged and the candy (which he uses in place of the marshmallow( is actually for him and not for you. So if you actually earn the extra candy you dont even get it

That said I do think jax would feel bad when you get upset about the joke

I think he finds it funny, as long as you're not tugging on his overalls and screaming at him for something, or interfering with his plans

Hes not a neglectful rolemodel/familial figure, he just has a short fuse with the above I think, regardless of who it is, kid or not

As mentioned in ragathas part, the wheathervane BMO thing is basically in essence you guys' dynamic. Except where I think ragatha would be quicker to pay attention to you, zooble may be a little slower. Not because they dont care about whatever you're trying to display to them, but because I think a lot of the times they kind of mentally check out (me too honestly)

Tries to scold you if you do something too dangerous or out of line, may come across as way angrier or upset than they actually are though thanks to their voice being kinda

You know

Zooble gives off "cool older sibling who doesnt care about nothing" energy

GANGLE:

Meekly tries to get you to calm down for a few minutes, especially if theres an IHA going on because she doesnt want you to run off and potentially get hurt. Tries to keep you occupied with arts and crafts. Watches in horror as you impulsively eat the glue

Tends to wrap one of her ribbon hands around yours so she knows you're not running off.. this is more so when theres an IHA going on

wrote these after getting off of phighting, was very fun phighting is so good shsigsjshsk, anyways enjoy!

- When you first met Rocket you thought he was hyper and kind of annoying, fast forward to you two dating, you did not see that one coming but hey, boyfriend acquired so who cares

- While yes he is sorta hyperactive and a bit loud sometimes you love that about him, it’s part of who he is and you love everything about him, and he loves everything about you right back, even if not through words he shows his love for you a lot, especially through touch, he’s very clingy, he likes hugging you, holding you, holding your hand, draping himself across your legs or having you drape yourself over him, he just wants to be in contact with you at all times

- He probably uses those really cheesy embarrassing pet names just to make you embarrassed and annoyed with him, stuff like shnookums or cutiepie, but actually he calls you sweet things in private when he doesn’t wanna be an ass, if you do it back he turns it into a game, who can call the other a more weird/embarrassing name, whoever can’t think of something or whoever gets too embarrassed and asks the other to stop first wins, he’s very competitive but he has admitted defeat a couple times before

- You definitely help Rocket with trimming his horns, cleaning his rocket, basic maintenance on his arm and leg, etc, while he can do those things by himself it’s difficult, especially his horns and since Zuka ‘thinks it’s stupid’ he usually asks you or Sword to trim them, then it’s difficult to repair his arm when he only has the one to use

- Speaking of his arm it has occurred more than once where you slept over at his or he slept at your and the next morning you have to spend 5 minutes finding his fucking leg because he put it somewhere the night before and can’t remember where so he can’t fucking walk, he gets all grumbly and huffy even when you remind him it’s his fault he doesn’t know where his leg is, if your at his place and you just cannot find it he puts on an old one that’s not bionic and is more like a peg leg and hobbles around to help you find it

- For dates he probably enjoys movie nights, semi fancy dinners, gaming into the early morning, a lot of quality time stuff, but don’t get him wrong his love language is physical touch during all of it he’s touching you somewhere, arm, leg, head, whatever, something of his is on you or something of yours is on him

- Chronic clothes thief, hoodie? Rocket is gaslighting you into thinking it’s always been his, but not actually it’s a silly goofy thing not a toxic thing, some accessory you wear commonly? You take it off for a second and he’s got it on, don’t even get started on if he spends the night at your place, you wake up after him and nothing he’s wearing is his, it is all from your closet

- DO NOT LET THIS MAN IN THE KITCHEN. Early on in the relationship he offered to make you breakfast, Zuka had to grab a fire extinguisher. You learned a valuable lesson to never let him cook, he forgot the water in ramen, SIX TIMES. If you can’t cook either you guys eat a lot of take out or rely on Zuka, luckily he can cook, though some of it is solider ration meals because of his past, so honestly if you also can’t cook you might just wanna pick up food for everyone’s sakes

- He feels ashamed about his past and hates talking to you about it, it was a awful part of his life and he has the scars to prove it, you don’t push which he is grateful for as he doesn’t want you to think less of him for the violence and anger that was teenage him

Sorry but your recent artwork has me thinking about parent Varigo and I have to dump my thoughts somewhere. I feel like, if they actually had a kid it would be really emotional for them but in different ways. Varian finds out he’s pregnant and is a little scared at first, but he actually adjusts to the idea pretty fast and is excited about it, because he’s in a good place now and has a good support system. He doesn’t have to worry about his family judging him, he knows they’ll still see him for who he is. Hugo on the other hand is terrified. But not because he doesn’t wanna be a dad, he’s pretty excited about that, he’s just really scared that Varian is going to get sick from the pregnancy, or that the whole experience is gonna be too much for him. He feels like this is just another thing he’s “putting Varian through” because he’s still not quite over the guilt of his betrayal years ago, and now it’s coming back to haunt him. They work it out of course and Hugo realizes that it’s gonna be okay and that he also can depend on Varian’s family for support because they’re his family too. Now I’m emotional. Anyway I love your art <3

AUGHHHH YEAH YEAH THIS IS SO REAL!!!!! i love plots like that fr, their characters are so fun to explore😭😭😭 Honestly? i think in the right circumstances hugo could be a deadbeat dad. like he could just straight up leave bc he’s paranoid varian or the kid would get hurt or he’d put them in danger or something. he’s the kind of guy who’s always Running! like i could think of scenarios where he’d run away on their wedding day too. those are both horrible extremes SORRY FOR THE ANGST I JUST THINK IT’S NEAT.

i think hugo’s always WANTED a family but its something she’s always viewed as unachievable, mostly bc of the shitty living situation hes been in for most of his life. she could barely survive on her own and she’d never want to drag someone else into that yk? and she’s still scared of that commitment even after she moves into the castle, bc what if she DID have a kid and then something happened and she couldn’t take care of them anymore, or she ends up on the streets again….and what if she just ends up abandoning them? what if she’s no better than the parents she never even knew? it’s like, obviously she wouldn’t do any of those things or be in those situations but she has….a Lot of anxiety around it for sure. but i also think that she tries to adopt literally every orphan she and varian see. she LOVES kids as much as she pretends she doesn’t and its very obvious….she just hasn’t really had the privilege to be able to think about it until now.

varian…i think he goes either way, he doesn’t really plan to have kids but he’ll kinda learn to adjust to whatever, he’s also just a very family oriented guy so he’s definitely not opposed to that kind of role. in my head they usually adopt bc i think varian like, Hates anything related to the human body at all so even disregarding the gender dysphoria pregnancy is SO gross to him. idk why i just think he’s silly like that. hell make bombs and poisonous chemicals but he remembers people have organs and he wants to throw up. i’m not opposed to the idea of them having biological kids at all though…especially considering all the art i’ve already drawn for it’s us against the world LOL. personally i think even if he weren’t opposed to the idea he’d be miserable the entire time, and not even like in a serious way necessarily he’s just REALLY mad that he can’t work in the lab anymore. he’s pissed about EVERYTHING, actually. he’s bored and he’s tired and he can’t work and he feels like shit and he doesn’t really have any other hobbies either. his whole life and routine has been completely fucked over for nine months and SURE he loves the kid and he’s excited but like why does it need to be in there that long. why can’t it just come from the stork or something. 🙄/j

i think he might pick a few fights with hugo bc of it, just because he’s so overwhelmed and emotional and doesn’t know how to handle it, but hugo’s really understanding; also they’ll honestly take any kind of treatment from him because they’re like, “Yeah i probably deserved that”. which varian does NOT like btw and always gets on his ass later to stick up for himself more while also in tears apologizing for yelling at him

idk i just think them as parents would be Sooo silly. neither of them have any clue what they’re doing. dude if those two had a baby? Dude can you imagine? varian’s sooo fucking sheltered i think he’s only interacted with like, 2 babies in his entire life. quirin stays with them for tje first few weeks bc varian literally just has NO clue what he’s doing and is crying to him all the time. and hugo like, has an idea of what to do but he’s also SUPER paranoid. they’re both just staring at the kid while they sleep not so much out of adoration but because they’re just terrified they’ll stop breathing at any moment. you cant convince me that either of them know how to change a diaper. They’re gonna bring out like full lab gear. like the gag where the dads will pull out full hazmat suits for the diaper change. That’s them idc

ruddiger is also SO protective of their kids from the moment they’re born, like he jumps up into the crib and snuggles up with them and they always IMMEDIATELY stop crying. olivia is the opposite. she’s kinda like a toddler who just got a new sibling she didn’t want. shes pissed that she isn’t getting hugo’s full attention and keeps being a brat about it. hugo’s just trying to calm down his baby and olivias glaring at him while she’s about to push a glass off the table

technically the latest fic I had posted when I reblogged this was Scars and Stitches BUT right before that I posted What Are You Waiting For? which is FAR more interesting to me SO I'm answering for that one because rules are fake and I feel like it.

5. How do you decide how long your fics/chapters will be? Do you have a word count goal?

Ha. Ha! I don't decide anything. Do you all think I'm out here deciding that my next update for Know Yourself should be 18k words?? Of course not.

Here's how it goes: I tell any given chapter what I think should happen. The chapter says "hmmmm, maybe. We'll see." Then I beg the chapter to please please please please please not be over 10k words. It gives me a smile like it thinks I'm adorable for even asking when we both damn well know that the chapter will do whatever it wants, and what I want has nothing to do with it. And then either the chapter takes mercy on me (like it did in this fic) or it Does Not (like it is doing in Know Yourself).

7. What part of this fic/chapter was the most fun to write? 

Honestly, the whole first chapter. There's just something about the way it flows that I feel so good about 💚

8. Which line/paragraph are you most proud of? Why are you proud of this? 

But the strangest thing is how everyone believes Jason anyways. Just like that.  Then again, Dick is backing him up, so of course they believe him. Everyone believes Goldie, all of the time. He just flashes that gorgeous smile like a fucking master key, and Jason’s always been a tiny bit jealous that everyone else turned out so goddamn endearing.  Not that being intimidating doesn’t have its uses, but sometimes he can’t ignore how much easier certain things would be if his edges were just a little less sharp.

This whole section. I think it's just that this is one of those thoughts that Jason keeps to himself, even though he thinks it fairly often. It captures a part of Jason I rarely see represented, which is how he came back different and he feels different from the rest of the bats in a lot of ways that strain his relationship with them. (Also, I feel like this reads in his voice really well which is something I sometimes have a hard time feeling like I nailed.

15. What is one question you wish someone would ask you about this work? Ask it and answer it.

There is ALWAYS a question I want to be asked about fics, and it is what songs inspired them! I listen to so much music (Spotify wrapped outed me last year at 84k minutes of listening lmaoo) and I used to write to music a lot but I've been finding it distracting lately.

soooo much things have happened, that this log will be such an oversimplification of this school year LMAO whew prepare for a major yap session

🎀 — I MET UP WITH MY ONLINE FRIEND GROUP !! THE FIRST FG I'VE MET UP WITH AAAAAA they were SO sweet & fun !! honestly, its been months so the details are fuzzy but GOD we played dungeons & dragons, did some bowling, and sung our hearts out at a karaoke. i LUV them !! i had saur much fun, my geeks! i also met lots of new people cause friends brought their friends lol. they were also suuuper nice and fun aaa!!!!! <3 <3 tho i skipped my training the day after (even tho i had a comp the day after?!!?!) bc i was so damn EXHAUSTED from the fun 🧸 — i found a mini journalism family with my CDP team and i luv em aaaaaaaa!!!! VERY UNEXPECTEDLY we won 3rd place !!! are u crazy !! even tho we performed so horribly !! pls we RAN to the stage we were so damn surprised 🍰 — also, our schoolpub entered the regional school paper competition and we misinterpreted the guidelines, so guess what happened: we crammed 15 articles into one weekend. yeah i won't elaborate anymore it was hell buuut my writers are very diligent and skilled so they saved me from lots of headaches and i'm so thankful 🍀 — we had a retreat in our school's villa 4 hours away !! again, details are fuzzy but ... i couldn't get to enjoy it much because i was damn sick. 40 degrees celsius. jesus. BUT I HAVE A FUNNY STORY LMAO!! as typical for a catholic school, people entering the opposite gender's dorms weren't allowed. but these 4 guys didn't care, showed up at our doorstep and literally went:

the entire time we were playing uno, i was so damn anxious lol. i had to lock the door. like i kept telling them to go hide under the bed, in the closet, whatever whatever when the inspector comes to visit. i'd tell them to hide in the bathroom but my dorm mate was using it and i was scared. I WAS SO ANXIOUS ... AND THEN ...

WE HEARD A KNOCK ...

and i opened the door SWEATING ...

it was my 3rd roommate !! we all breathed a sigh of relief lol and she was like "lol whats happening why r they all here"

anyways all six of us were playing uno ...... until we heard another knock AGAIN ..... and this time i was sweating bullets ... because if all my three of my dorm mates are now here ... and so are all of my friends ... then who else could be knocking but .....

now this time we were genuinely sweating bullets . my dormmate was still showering so i had them all hide in weird places again and i opened the door sweating and ..........

🌷͙֒ — also had my prom :) it wasn't really anything magical or amazing, but i still had such a fun night! i was wearing a hot pink dress under converse HEHEHEAHAH 🦢 — average of 95 in 3rd quarter ... yeah baby ... !!!!! 🐰 — you know !! i volunteered to do the broadcasting for the food bazaar news posting in our schoolpub. i finished writing the spiel, rehearsing, and everything else despite my tight schedule and stack of activities. then i asked our broadcasting editor if the broadcast is still gonna continue ... then she notified me that our EIC found another person outside of our org to do the broadcast ..... and they used my spiel ...... no credits ... i didnt even broadcast ....... ahahahahaha Pain

🫧 — FOURTH QUARTER WAS HELL UNLEASHED!! I CANT BELIEVE I SURVIVED THAT!! I WAS FR GONNA CRASH OUT ICB!!! okay, okay, just imagine this: you're the one in charge of 3 research paper projects, there's upcoming thesis defenses [which is going so wrong due to the incompetency of ur groupmates and there's only like 2 or 3 ppl that are actually helping], sleepless nights and overdosing on caffeine, in charge of the final PETA poster [in which there's that one uncooperative groupmate that delayed the projet SO DAMN MUCH and you're frantically handling the costuming, photoshoot, and makeup for the cast all at the same time THEN you're also the one editing it], you're handling news articles for the schoolpubs, you're the one in charge of your robotics project [a 5 group project in which 2 of them are just fooling around and barely helping out, and you practically handled all the hardest parts while keeping them updated] (but my discord friend carried most of all lol he did the circuit wiring and coding i love him), you're cramming your research papers in which one of them was assigned 3 days before the deadline THEN the draft of the other one is dued tomorrow, you're filming lots of scenes for a short film, you're juggling between acads, hobbies, personal life, and family matters, you get diagnosed with pneumonia in the middle of it all, but even then you throw away your health just to finish the research paper and defense material within the due date because who else would do it, but then some of your incompetent groupmates FUCK IT ALL UP and you explode and cry and all they do is mutter a half-assed apology they really dont give a shit, but oh don't forget there's also requirements for other subjects dued tomorrow and the day after and the day after that hahahaha, then some of your friends are giving you unnecessary BS and stress as well as your family ............................. do you understand me now. AND HAVE I TOLD YOU THAT I HAD TO SORT THROUGH 900 PHOTOS TO EDIT AND FRAME FOR OUR NEWS ARTICLES. oh and on top of that self image issues and impostor syndrome because of course im a teenager

🩷 — on the bright side, we made our research all PINK and GIRLY!!!!! i'll show in the photos lol. the best part was that we won best in research for it. truly an elle woods moment. on that note, i don't even know how we won best in research !! i was so convinced we were cooked !! the gods heard my prayers and struggles !! 🌸 — anyways, i repicked up some hobbies recently. i got into cooking again and somewhat into cosplaying !! 🌿 — speaking of cosplays, i attended this one cos-con alongside an old friend as hu tao. my friend was veeeeeeeery well-known in our local cosplay community and she was talking to people left and right and i was just standing there awkwardly XD YOU KNOW SHE WON AS A CHAMPION!!!!! I SAY VERY WELL-DESERVED!!! she's so bubbly, cute, sweet and genuine lol i have sm fun with her! 🍥 — dude i finished playing split fiction with my best friend and oh my god. it was an AMAZING experience!! 10/10!

🫧 — my friends took me out to a badminton court (haha they had to pick me up from my house which was the opposite side of town XD), and out of post-badminton exhaustion confidence i sang to our tricycle driver. very good btw. we ate ramen in a mall afterwards

I know I basically haven't been keeping up with these this year--it's been kind of a slow writing year in general for me, which is part of it.

And normally at this time of year, I'm setting a number and picking a set of projects to work on for a fake/cheat NaNo but given the whole...AI-nonsense implosion that went on there...

Yeah, not happening.

But I do want to get back into more writing, because I miss it, even if it's been hard this year. So behind the cut is a bit of rambling about the following long-range projects I'm hoping to get more into as time goes on:

Anything I've written/posted about here or on AO3 is fair game. I do take prompts, but no promises on when I'll fill them, haha.

The Other Battlestar

So this is an AU that I technically started building the first time I was in the fandom, so like...twelveish years ago now? Haha.

The premise, essentially, is Baltar ends up on Pegasus instead of Galactica. Which means a lot of gaps to fill in, both in terms of getting the fleet into roughly the same position when everyone reconnects, and also, even with Razor filling in some gaps, there's a fair bit of 'how do I fill those six months' on the Pegasus side of things.

There are a few OCs involved in filling in those gaps--splitting Baltar's canon shenanigans across two people, one to do the Politics and one to do the Science. Politics is Vance Kimball; movie star/philanthropist, went to university with...I'm blanking on his name; Roslin's original VP pick; anyway the two of them were at an alumni event and got off Caprica together along with the Science person, who is admittedly the most self-indulgent part of this fic but I've decided to stop feeling guilty about my pleasures and honestly what is fandom for if not self-indulgence lol.

Also adding a few people on the Pegasus side of things--there's a Marine officer who grew up with Baltar on Aerilon; Daphne Reed who is the senior medical officer (Cottle's counterpart); and a Four with the civilian fleet who gets drafted to work under Reed.

I did also figure out how to keep Helo on Caprica so he can meet Athena, because they are important to me and see above about self-indulgence, and Fleet!Cavil and Vera (Tough!Six/Hooker!Six/Punk-rock!Six/whatever the cool kids are calling her these days) are probably going to show up once or twice.

So, yeah, the holdup here is...figuring out the best way to balance all the different threads, how much I actively need to rewrite vs. how much I can handwave, and so on. Even if I stop at the end of the Pegasus arc (which is my current plan; I have some vague ideas for where the second half of S2 and beginning of S3 might go but no Active plans at this point), I'm guessing this will end up being like. 150k? It will not be short, anyway. But it's been in my head for a long time and I'm very fond of it.

2. Papa and J----, August '34

So this (and its companion piece, Provenance) is something I was having a lot of fun with and just. Need to get back to, haha. It's outsider POV, an art history grad student named Ari doing some Research into a previously-undiscovered painting by Cosette (who is a moderately well-known painter). Obviously this is a post-canon AU where both Valjean and Javert survived the summer of 1832. I left off with Ari about to go to Europe to continue working there, going into museum collections and archives to try and a) identify J; and b) put a name to 'Papa,' now that we have his face. Anyway, I do plan to get back to this, just...again, slow year, haha.

3. Precipice

I will not quit this fic until/unless I entirely quit the Star Wars fandom which doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon (even if it's back-burnered a bit). So, yeah, even if it's been...::checks notes:: three years since I updated, I haven't forgotten this, it's too big a part of my SW fandom life for me to do that.

(For those who don't know, it's a 'the Republic falls but Anakin doesn't' AU, we've just reached about the timeframe of ANH where I left off)

4. Other Miscellaneous AUs

Just kind of rapid-firing--

The Selkie AU and Backup Plans AU I started with the Year of the OTP project back in 2023. They could go interesting places, and I want to explore them some more.

Acheron is another Les Mis fic, Groundhog Day loop for Javert, fun times.

Percussive Maintenance is the one where D'Anna accidentally unlocks Sam's memories what with all the concussing when they're trapped in the parking garage during Downloaded. It involves a lot of Sam talking to Philosopher!Cavil; I still need to decide whether or not I want to involve/reference the girls from Caprica-the-TV-series. I had a general outline going from Sam regaining his memories up through when they get back to the Fleet that I was hoping to do for GBB this year, but I didn't get enough into it to make it happen. Maybe I will moving forward.

Someday I'd like to get back to Serenissima (which was a Baroque/Renaissance Venice BSG AU)

I have some BSG crossovers floating around that I'd like to actively work on At Some Point (mostly Star Wars, though some of the self-indulgent Stargate crossover stuff I've done in RPs with a friend of mine is always percolating in the back of my head, lol; also the Wheel of Time stuff I started noodling with back when I watched S2 of that series is still interesting--maybe when S3 comes out or when I start my reread of that series)

Someday I'd like to get back to the Avatar Zuko fic or a couple other AtLA AUs I started working back when the fandom renaissance really picked up.

5. Original Works

The Farglass Cycle/Feredar is a fairly typical swords-and-sorcery type fantasy world; it's one of my oldest/longest-running projects and just sort of always a constant in the background of my writing universe.

Lux is the Apocalypse in SPACE. I think a lot of what I've written lately has focused more on the Horsemen than the original two main characters, lol (which would be Lux (Lucifer) and her human love interest Mariko). I still need to get around to fully explaining who Trixie Milton is, among other things.

Untitled Intrigues Story is technically a fantasy because it takes place on a made-up map. The pope/High Priest has sent his two sons as envoys to two rival kingdoms to try and prevent them from going to war, each of them ends up tangled up in the internal politics in different ways, and it's mostly about that. There's also some Politicking going on within the higher ranks of the church (this world is kind of modeled after late-Renaissance Europe soooo), which I find a lot of fun when it's. y'know. fictional.

...yeah, I think that about sums things up, haha. I'm not making any promises for when any of this is coming out, just...these are the sort of uppermost things in my mind for what I want to get more into working on in the next few weeks/months/through the end of the year and beyond.

I decided that it was time to make my letters into an internet blog situation. It felt like less of a desperate attempt to keep up with the various pages in a journal I would ultimately lose and more of a poetic way to send my letters into a void. They would all be in one place whenever I wanted them if I wanted them (but honestly I don't know if I will ever reread them). I don't know how existing in the ether works, but if you could see my journal pages, I would assume you can also see this internet post as well. Or I am writing to no one. That's okay too.

I don't have much to update you on but I wanted to write to you and christen this page with its first of many journal entries. The last time I wrote to you, I was in a really dark place. I still am. I am trying to work through that since I really hate feeling this low. It is one of the most gutwrenching, aching pains to feel that way. And it almost felt like the last time I wrote, I didn't have a reason to feel that way. The universe gave me one.

I got into an argument with my father after he told me that I had an attitude with him. I am a 23-year-old woman and suddenly I felt 13 and alone. I was stuck in a room in yet another unfamiliar house and I just wanted out. I wanted to leave and never come back. I wanted to escape this hellish nightmare that I had been placed in. And it is so dumb. It is so unbelievably dumb. I tried to explain to him that I wasn't trying to be a bad daughter. I had so many things I could have said that maybe would have rectified the situation. But then he looked me in my face and told me that I am so ungrateful for everything he does for me and I broke.

I am not ungrateful. I am always so worried that he doesn't recognize how grateful I am. I am a gift person, but he never wants gifts. We don't talk much even though his room is just on the other side of our house from mine. We don't spend time together anymore. We aren't really a family anymore. I feel as though I am being replaced by a better family. One that isn't so complicated. By a family where they are having children and moving out and they have so much going on that even bad days can be seen as good but I am just here. I am struggling, drowning, and afraid to ask for help. And so when he said I was ungrateful, it was as if it I had been found out. I think I cried for two days. I showed up to work just tired. I didn't want to be there and I had almost hit a car from how spaced out I was on the drive.

I really don't know how to go on. I wanted to die so, so badly. And I wish I could have a fun, creative word to say how I *specifically* felt. But I do not. The feeling is fading and it is still there. I do feel that, within the last day it has been a bit better. I got cookies from my order when I picked up my food. They were definitely not meant for me. And I did feel a bit bad knowingly taking them. But I also figured if I gave them back, they would throw them out. And so it felt like I shouldn't let a good cookie go to waste haha. But, I do appreciate the kind gesture, whatever powers are at play for me to be told "have a blessed night" and to get free cookies.

Anyway, I am going to go. I am very tired. I really hope you are doing well. I know you can't really respond or anything like that. Nonetheless, I do really hope you are doing well. You deserve to be happy now. Life was cruel to you in a way I can't imagine. Please take care of yourself out there on the other side. I'll make sure to write soon.
