#/That is also why I feel like putting similar angst on Anabel doesn't work

Ya'll already know this and have seen PLENTY of people talk about it.
But I do like Ingo's story telling via character design.
Mohn and Anabel and Looker all look put together somewhat, or adapted to their environment. They are all deeply connected to the world they now live in. For Anabel specifically, she's gotten a brand new look, but wears it with pride and is still subconsciously remixing an aesthetic she already liked. (Just leaning a bit harder on feminine instead of androgynous)
Ingo is different, I think.
If you imagine him without the uniform and ONLY the Pearl Clan outfit, he looks like he's just another Pearl Clan villager. He wouldn't stand out.
But he puts the same Subway Master uniform on top of that, day in and day out. Based on the concept art, it has went from pristine to faded, the metal rusted, torn, scuffed, and even deeply torn at the ends. It's the reason he still makes the same Japanese Train Conductor pointing and calling/vocal cues-- Because he's still in uniform. He's clinging onto that uniform, onto a role that is both foreign and deeply familiar because it's all he has left.
That's why the character feels like he has to go home. He's actively making himself not feel like he's just another part of Hisui. For an XX amount of years, Ingo has remained in uniform. I don't believe he talks like a train conductor when he's off uniform... So instead, he has a natural drive to feel like he's still on the job because it was the very last thing he was doing before losing his memories and becoming stranded.
