There's a Takeru here looking for one Mako. He knows she's felt a little down lately, so he's leaving one of his extra sugar cookies from a trip into town out for her to find. And scribbled on the napkin the cookie sat on? A small heart with his name wrote out to the side.

A cookie and a heart were so simple of a surprise. Nothing big, or flashy - and yet it was still more than enough to have Mako stopping still at the sight of it, biting into the tip of her tongue. She’d been trying so hard to hide her poor mood from him, not wanting him to fuss and worry... When had he picked up on it? Where had she slipped?

Regardless of the when, where, and how, the fact he’d thought to get her a cookie had tears pricking at her eyes, lips curling into a soft smile. He hadn’t had to do that, she reminded herself, letting her fingertips brush over the heart; he could’ve just.... It was just a cookie, and it made her heart soar.

Enough for her to turn on her heel and leave the treat alone, rushing through the house until she could find Takeru, cup his cheeks, and pull him close for a quick, soft kiss. “Thank you- I love you, Take-kun-”
