it dawned on me that some people in fontaine could dislike the melusines (unrealistic, i know) or even could actively hurt them or try to steal from them (which is a strange concept to me because, apparently, they'd give you things if you nicely ask(which is further proof they need to be protected))

Like a quest in which a guy and a few mercenaries literally go through their belongings and try to steal from them. And the second melusines first reaction to this is "oh we have to let chief justice neuvillette know" which means to me that either, this happened before (hate that thought) or neuvillette made it a point to tell them. every. single. time. Until they got it down to tell him (which is beautiful and i'm crying)

And now after some trial and error like is this wrong? Should we tell you this? Their first reaction is to tell him.

Conclusion: i love monsieur neuvillette and his aquatic adopted daughters and i don't understand how anyone can hate them.
