Fuck it, posting this here too. Crossover brain go brrrrrr.
Yes, my brain is currently fixating on both Warframe and Kenopsia/Forever Ocean lore, and that's manifesting as "What Sembla would each Warframe have?" (and possibly what would each frame look like as a Kwaiz/Vani ajsdgajsdk I have no clue how I'd incorperate things like Parazons n shit with that lmao).
So, yeah, Warframes placed on @kenopsia-official's Sembla wheel. (taken from this post)
Note from me: I don't really know much about the sembla outside of what Juno's mentioned on the Tumblr Sembla breakdown and what I've seen mentioned on Kenopsia-asks and Juno's Toyhou.se. I'm not in the official Discord or anything, so if anything is off from info derived from the Discord, let me know!
This thing is honestly still a huge WIP, what with all of the frames that are still in the "????" category in the middle lmao. A lot of these frame/sembla pairings are being a pain in the ass, a lot of frames don't really fit neatly into any single sembla and have intricacies that can fit in multiple or no sembla. Honestly, if anyone has any ideas, that'd be great lmao.
As for the wheel: Frames inside the Sembla section are the "Primary" user, while heads outside of it are considered "Secondary" users (what with how many frames overlap in the "element" department).
This is already getting really long, so the rest of this (specific selections + reasoning, going over the ???? squad thoughts, etc.) will be under a cut.
Going through the wheel, elaborating on decided pairings, from Hex going clockwise.
HEX - N/A
FIRE - Primary Ember, Secondary Nezha. Basically exactly what it says on the tin, they both specialize primarily in burning shit.
ALARM - N/A
FLESH - Primary Lavos, Secondary Garuda. I put Lavos here because of the fact that his Orokin-granted ability in his Leverian is power over flesh (Maybe his Kwaiz-version would have a specialized Amplifier that mimics specialized organs to still fit with his "element-mixing alchemist" thing?). Garuda's there because she's basically just all "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD" (her talons could probably be considered Switchlimbs? Maybe???).
VISCOUS - N/A
WAX - N/A
ROCK - Atlas. Another "exactly what it says on the tin" situation. Punchy with rocks, rock armor, etc.
DUST - Inaros. Because POCKET SAND.
METAL - N/A
THREAD - Khora. Weirdo barbed-wire whip-ensnare-dome dominatrix lady. Early info points out that she was originally supposed to be spider-themed, further fitting with Thread.
ELECTRICITY - Primary Volt, Secondary Gyre. More "exactly what it says on the tin" stuff. Just look at 'em.
FORCE - Mag. She's supposed to be magnets, but she can yoink basically about anything, and "magnetizing the bones of your enemies" makes no damn sense for just metal, so telekinesis it is.
PLANT - N/A
SLIME - N/A
WONDER - N/A
CORROSION - N/A
RADIOACTIVE - N/A
PLASMA - Wisp. It may be a bit of an odd pairing, but she's based off of will-o'-the-wisps (which have had theorizing over their origin from crude flames, electricity, swamp gasses becoming luminous plasma, etc.) and her fourth ability is her opening a portal to the surface of the sun to rain forth a beam of solar plasma, so I think Plasma fits most cleanly for now. She's honestly stuck in a limbo between being Plasma or Plume lmao.
SALT - N/A
COLD - Frost. Another "Captain Obvious" pick. Just look at his abilities lmao.
WATER - Primary Hydroid, Secondary Yareli. Both "Captain Obvious" picks. Hydroid's a yarr harr pirate that can turn into water, call down water, and has a KRAKEN. Yareli's a cute seaworld totsugeki surfboarding magical girl that can summon bubbles, water blades, and a whirlpool.
GRAVITY - Rhino. His abilities are all over the place, but I put him here because of his fourth ability, which states: "Rhino stomps with force sufficient to disrupt time, tumbling enemies around him in stasis.". Distorting space to distort time, you say?
SILICON - N/A
PLUME - Ash. Smoke bombs, that weird smoke vent billowing from his left arm... That's about the only reason I put him here. Weeb.
CRYSTAL - Citrine. Gemussy. To be serious, just look at her and her kit. All crystals, all the time.
INK - N/A
SPIRIT - Nekros. He's also a bit finicky like Wisp. I put him here because he has technical "literal" soul manipulation, and I noticed that there's a lot of language about manipulating fear in Juno's description of the sembla, which fits with Terrify.
TOXIN - N/A
FUNGUS - Saryn. She could honestly have fallen under Corrosion or Toxin as well, but Fungus has enough variety to cover both while also fitting with the language around Saryn's abilities involving "spores".
GLASS - Gara. Duh, glass lady. The "messing with perception" bit also fits for Spectrorage.
SUGAR - N/A
MUSIC - Octavia. Duh, the Maestro, the Pied Piper of Doom. Buffing, debuffing, luring enemies to their doom, fits her like a glove.
DREAM - N/A
LIGHT - Mirage. Similarly to Nekros and Wisp, I wasn't really sure where to put her. Her illusions could also fall under Spirit, but I decided to put her under Light because of Eclipse (which gives her various buffs depending on if she's in the light or in the dark) and Prism (exploding laser disco ball of doom).
WIND - Zephyr. Wind bird lady. Flying around, redirecting enemy fire with a shield of swirling air, it fits.
PLASTIC - N/A
VOID - N/A
DISEASE - Nidus. Literally a walking manifestation of a disease (in WF's case, the Infestation), throwing around weirdo worms and maggots, while also being able to parasitize enemies and be symbiotic with allies. Can't get much more
SHADOW - N/A
(UNKNOWN) - N/A
----
The ???? Squad™
Excalibur - I have no clue what sembla he'd fall under lmao. His "thing" is swords and blades, not much else. He could be Light because of Radial Blind, but that's one minor ability out of four, two of which tend to overshadow it... idk lmao.
Equinox - No clue here either lmao. She has A Lot going on, to say the least, none of which really fits cleanly into one sembla.
Gauss - Funny speed man. He specializes in kinetic force, energy storage, friction, etc., not telekinesis. He can both light shit on fire and freeze things solid. Another messy one.
Harrow - Weirdo glock-wielding, self-flagellating, crit-buffing Void priest. No clue here either lmao.
Vauban - Balls™. No clue what to do with him.
Xaku - Resident bone-zone Void weirdo. No clue what to do with them.
Banshee - Her abilities are a weird mixture of noise, debuffing with sonar, and silencing the aforementioned noise. Her passive is that all her weapons are silenced. There really isn't a sembla based around silencing noise. Feels like a toss-up between Alarm and Void.
Baruuk - Putting enemies to sleep, disarming enemies with his own summoned projectiles, avoiding projectiles when not attacking, going ham with projectiles from his melee attacks. Not sure where to put him.
Caliban - He's a fucking weirdo in-universe, I have no clue what sembla to give him lmao.
Chroma - Dragon hunter given power by his hunted pelt. He's all over the place, his gimmick is that he can cycle between Heat (Fire), Cold, Toxin, and Electricity, so he doesn't really fit neatly in a single sembla.
Grendel - He's the food/eating guy who can give team buffs. Feels like a toss-up between Salt and Sugar.
Hildryn - Flying buff shield lady. Shield in the Keno-verse are probably a whole other can of worms, especially considering that Shields are her whole gimmick. Might be Silicon territory, who fucken knows, people in-universe barely understand it lmao.
Ivara - Stealthy invisible huntress. Invisibility falls under Ink, but I'm not sure how to account for her various arrows (zip-wire, noise, cloak, sleep).
Kullervo - The all cannon, no glass overguard guy. I have no clue what sembla he'd have lmao. He's another one of the weirdos along with Caliban. The Void + Keno-verse is another can of worms like Shields lmao.
Limbo - I tip my hat to you, my old friend, you've confounded me as to what sembla to give you. His whole thing is slipping into (or sending others to) a different dimension, somewhere under the skin of reality between it and the Void, or ripping a hole in reality to it. No clue.
Loki - Another invisibility guy. Could be ink, but not sure about Switch Teleport or Radial Disarm.
Mesa - Yeehaw cowgirl. No damn clue what to give her lmao. Her thing is Gun™, a reflect barrier, and a weirdo enemy-gun-jamming beacon thing that moves between teammates. That gun-jamming ability could fall under Wonder, but that wouldn't fit with her other abilities.
Nova - Antimatter lady. No clue, there's no sembla that manipulates antimatter or sounds much like any of her abilities unless I decide to just cram her under Plasma.
Nyx - Mind control, mass hysteria, temporary defense-strip, making herself the main target. She's... strange. A toss-up between Ink and Spirit.
Oberon - Deer-goat paladin. Lots of radiation, the lawn of team-buffing doom, team-heals, and slamming enemies around. Could fall under Plant (Hallowed Ground) or Radiation (Smite, Reckoning, Hallowed Ground again).
Protea - Hacky sack tinkerer time-reversal lady. Big ability weirdo. Shields, throwing around blades and hot plasma, sustain with energy/health/ammo dispensary, and then the weirdo timey wimey reverse stuff. No damn clue lmao.
Revenant - Mr. Vampire Eidolon dude is a thematic mess lmao. He's got mind control, weirdo "Sentient" energy, and lots of funny laser beams. No clue what he'd have as a sembla lmao. A fellow weirdo along with Caliban and Kullervo.
Sevagoth - The JJBA Stand user space Flying Dutchman rescue guy. As he sows, so does he reap, cloaking himself in something... outside of darkness. Life drain, enemy slow and damage taken increase, whatever the hell the Exalted Shadow is. Not really sure what sembla to give him. "Shadow" seems too literal for what he does...
Styanax - THIS. IS. (NOT) ASS SPARTA /j. Succ spears, enemy defense strip, team buffs, becoming the center of attention, a Rain of Hell. Not sure what sembla to give him.
Titania - Tinker Bell's packing heat. Make enemies fumble weapons while allies become status-immune, "extract" a buff from an enemy, turn an enemy into a beacon of doom, and then Tinker Hell™. A bit all-over-the-place. Maybe Wonder due to her fairy/fae-themeing? She doesn't really fit anywhere, but Wonder is extremely weird.
Trinity - Basic healer. Make an enemy a healing well, make an enemy an energy well, split any damage taken between enemies she links to, and a big fuck-off uber-heal. She's a general healer... but that could fall under both Flesh and Silicon, so no clue.
Valkyr - Angry skinless cat lady. Spiderman meme silly string, team melee attack speed buff, radial stun by expending her own shields, and Rip and Tear Mode. Outside of Warcry (the melee buff), she doesn't really do sound-based abilities. It could fall under Alarm, but that isn't her main theme, her main theme is rage, which isn't necessarily the same as Alarm. Brayziel's a ball of anger because she has Alarm ESP that's driving her insane, but I don't recall that being a native quality of Alarm-users in general.
Voruna - Wolfpack mom. Unlike with Lavos, looking at her Leverian lore didn't help much. She can go invisible, slap All of the Elements on enemies, force the drop of health and energy orbs, and generally likes ripping and tearing, not even getting into her variable passives like cheating death. She's all over the place and doesn't really fit cleanly into one sembla.
Wukong - MONKEY FUCK (Affectionate). Celestial Twin, turning into a cloud, returning enemy damage, and Big Stick™. Not even getting into his Passive. He could be anything from Plume to Wonder to Hex. No clue.
#Warframe#Kenopsia#the forever ocean#Vanishing World#Vaniwo#long post#crossover#cross over#The 'tism won. This took me 800 years to type out. Send help. If I forgot any information please tell me lmao#Hypnofantasma

Staring into the Flames
Ashton Greymoore x Reader
Summary: Ashton loses his shit when you get injured.
Fluff, angst, hurt/comfort, gender-neutral pronouns, raging Ashton, injured!reader.
Warnings: swearing, violence, descriptions of injuries.
Word Count: 3.8k words
A/N: Time for some Critical Role content, because I'm a raging nerd. And I'm in love with Taliesin Jaffe. God, all his characters give me such gender envy! Also, for context, this is written in the wake of c3e33, so I need comfort from the trauma 😭 Anyway, enjoy my beautiful punk rock babe <3
Watching Ashton Greymoore have emotions was one of your favourite things to do.
Sounds strange, I know – borderline creepy maybe – but you just found him so fascinating. Everything Ashton would ever do was based entirely off impulse. He wanted to steal some random arcane item he knew he would never use? Done. Rile up that complete stranger just because they didn’t like their hat? Did it last Tuesday. Take you off on a completely random unplanned date right to the top of the Lantern spire just because they wanted to? Absolutely.
All these impulse actions were based off impulse thoughts and impulse emotions; emotions that he feels so fucking strongly. I mean, just look at the destructive power his anger and rage can bring upon his foes in a fight (you do look, you look very hard…). Their feelings swirl like the kaleidoscope shining from their head, and you found it simply hypnotising to watch those feelings spread across his body. You could watch the cogs turn in Ashton’s brain for hours, seeing each new emotion spread across his body like lava.
One of your favourites was the slow realisation that you had stolen permanently borrowed something of theirs: a certain red and black jacket, perhaps. They would be rummaging around their room, thinking they’ve gone mad because they could swear they left it right here. Evidently they were too dead asleep that morning to notice you slipping out of the bedroom, the jacket claimed for yourself. Eventually, he would come bounding into the main room of the Crook House, finding Milo tinkering away at their latest project, and you lounging in a chair wearing his most prized item of clothing. It would take a minute for him to even notice what you were wearing. “Y/N, where in the fuck is my j-“. There we go. You got to sit back and enjoy as the realisation of your thievery spread through his body like a wave on the shore, every one of his stance and posture and facial expressions each slowly changing down throughout him. It was captivating. Although not for too long as soon a smirk rose to Ashton’s face before they were barrelling at you, you both tumbling onto the floor in a mock fight to win the grand prize of the jacket, as Milo looked on with a smile and a shake of their head at these idiots in love.
Oh yeah, in love. So in love. Which thankfully was reciprocated on both ends. It had, in fact, been your staring that had helped get you together. Subtly wasn’t your strong suit - sure you could sneak into Ashton’s room silent and assassin-like without him noticing, but you weren’t as skilled at hiding how much you just stared at him, getting lost in every single part of the earth genasi. And… they noticed. Luckily, Ashton had also been pretty enraptured by you over the past couple of weeks, meeting pretty frequently on jobs as both colleagues and rivals. So, Ashton’s impulses being Ashton’s impulses, they walked right up to you after one of said jobs and asked you out right on the spot.
“Angel, I could feel your eyes on me for the last three hours, wanna go get a drink so I can return the favour?”
Of course, you said yes, and from then on you have been pretty much inseparable. You now lived at the Crook House and could now stare all you liked. And so could he. He really did. God he’d do anything for you. You were the best thing to have come into his life and he was not about to let you go any time soon.
Definitely not today.
Today, you two, for once, weren’t together; you had some things to buy in the market and Ashton had to go for one of their many strange meetings with Jiana Hexum. So, you walked through Elder’s Post, pushing through the hordes of tradespeople and customers alike, keeping your coin purse close to your side away from any thieves lurking. You had already picked up some food for the household plus some bits and pieces of metal Milo wanted for Fresh Cut Grass’s repairs, and then you moved onto the trickier task: healing potions. They were pretty essential, especially given how much you two got hurt on jobs, particularly Ashton - gods, he got beaten up a lot - and, sure, you could ask FCG for help, but you didn’t want to overwork them. Sadly, your group weren’t exactly rolling in cash so, shall we say, less reputable vendors of potions had to be your main source.
This included one particularly awful man, Rackoth. He was a leering, lecherous man, spindly and towering over most people. He was also a swindler with prices way too high for substandard potions at best. Both you and Ashton had had run-ins with him in the past and nearly none of them ended well. Unfortunately, all your other sellers were out and you were in a bind - FCG was undergoing some internal repairs with Milo at the moment, and so was largely out of action. Hence, you had to grit your teeth and bare Rackoth and his usual ways. His sunken, hollow eyes bore into your soul as he offered up some wildly off-colour “healing potions” at some astronomical price. Usually, you would try to keep your cool and try in earnest to haggle him down, but after one too many not at all innocent placements of his bony hands on your waist, you had had enough. You smacked his hand out the way hard and snapped back at him, calling him out on his extortionate business (and maybe also insulting his mother in Deep Speech - honestly, you can’t quite remember, it was all a blur). Suddenly, you felt a burn across your cheek as Rackoth punched you with a force you never expected from the scrawny man. You stumbled back in shock, but he launched forward to meet you, gripping you by the neck. You could feel his jagged nails biting at your skin as he roared at you to never return to his shop again, throwing you down onto the ground after he was done. The customers around you all gave strange looks as you picked yourself and your belongings up, no healing potions in hand, and carried your hurt pride home with you to the Crook House.
Mercifully, you found the house to be still and silent when you arrived. You were safe in your own home at last. The adrenaline of the altercation wore off and a few tears fell from your eyes. As you wiped them away, you noticed blood smeared across your fingers, from your injuries presumably, so you trudged your way with a sigh into your and Ashton’s room to clean yourself up. You passed a mirror as you walked down the hall, finally seeing the extent of your injuries with a groan: thick red blood dripped down the side of your face, matting your hair, and purple was starting to bloom around your eye from the punch. You winced as you lifted your chin seeing more purple marks at the top of your neck along with five punctures to your skin from Rackoth’s nails leaking a small trail of blood. With a turn, you saw the muddied and scuffed back of your jacket from your fall and emitted a groan in pain as you turned slightly too far. Your back would be black and blue in the morning thanks to your impact onto the cold stone ground. Honestly, you’ve looked better.
Gritting your teeth, you collected your strength and pushed on into your bedroom, but almost screamed as you were met by the sight of your partner sprawled on the bed counting coins from a leather pouch. He wasn’t meant to be back yet.
“Hey, Angel, you’ll never guess the fucking bonus we got from Jiana for that extra information. She was fucking thrilled-“. Ashton stopped as his eyes fell on you.
In any other circumstances, this would’ve been a beautiful show.
The swirling colours in the glass in Ashton’s head seemed to almost speed up and spark out as their mind processed your injured form before them. He blinked slowly as his piercing eyes scanned over you, searching for the answer… there. His beaming smile dropped into one of concern as his eyes widened to the size of saucers. He breathed out a quiet “what the fuck?” in disbelief, before he suddenly took off, scrambling off the bed with zero coordination, but zero care for anything except you. Ashton stood on (and probably broke) most of their belongings as they ran over to you, immediately bringing his firm, calloused hands to your body as he checked you over. His eyes burnt a hole through your clothes with their intensity as he examined every single part of your body for more injuries - worry was the only emotion in him now. Ashton’s searing gaze on your body was usually a very good feeling, but you could see the bubbling anger low in him.
“Hey, Ash, I’m not dying!” You said with a pitiful attempt at a chuckle, trying to laugh off your injuries and put your boyfriend at ease. “I’m okay, really.” He clearly didn’t believe you as his roaming stare continued, logging in his mind everything he saw. His finger and thumb gripped your chin as he brought it up, inspecting the bruising to your neck, breathing out in disbelief. Rising their gaze to your face, Ashton gently prodded the bloody wound on your head with shaking hands. You pulled back slightly with a hiss of pain and that anger in him rose. Someone had hurt you. Red leaked into his eyes like a poison as they narrowed and focused on your own, still brimming with unshed tears. Already impossibly close, he took a step forward, towering over you, noses almost touching and hands coming back to your face. The delicate way he cradled your face in his large hands almost shocked you, the softness of his movements contrasting his hard, rocky palms. One thumb gently brushed away a stray tear on your cheek, both hands trembling as they grasped onto you.
“Who did this to you?” Ashton spoke so softly so that no one but you could here, but with so much menace for whoever the fuck thought they could touch you. Any attempt at him concealing his anger failed as it seeped through every pore in his body, every cell almost vibrating independently, ready for a fight.
“Ashton, really, it’s ok,” you counter again, trying to calm that fury in them that made you love them so much.
“No, it’s fucking not, who was it?”
“Ashton, it’s really not important-“
“Y/N.” He was firm. Final. You sighed before looking down slightly in defeat.
“Rackoth,” you breathed out.
“What. The Fuck. Did he do?” Ashton enunciated every single word, so slowly, so precise.
You stumbled over your words for a minute as you felt his gaze on you. He did deserve to know. That and the tiredness in your soul made all the words come tumbling out.
“I was getting healing potions because you’ve got that big job for Hexum coming up, and Milo is working on FCG and - shit! Letters needs a break sometimes! – but all our usual guys were out so I had to go to Rackoth. But that bastard stuck his prices up again. And they barely looked like healing potions - fuck me, Ashton, our bath water has more healing properties than that shit! And I was just so pissed off and. And... h-h-he had his hand on my waist and I just wanted to rip my skin off so I pushed him off and shouted at him and his potions and maybe his mother in Deep Speech? So he punched me. And grabbed my neck. And through me down. So yeah…” You stood in silence for a few seconds, taking a breath after your outburst, before you raised your head again to watch Ashton…
Now, here came the rage.
Ashton’s back straightened to an even higher height than before; every bone in their body tensed into a sharp point with their fists, now by their side, clenching, nearly popping joints. Their teeth clacked together in a bite, bared and ready to rip the throat out of the culprit of this heinous crime. The mesmerising colours beneath the glass in his skull seemed to swirl faster, getting brighter and brighter, threatening to violently burst free into chaos. The anger was white hot now, bleeding from his eyes and dripping down every tort muscle to a pool at his feet. A deep snarl sounded at the back of their throat, animalistic and ready to hunt.
“That piece of shit,” Ashton yelled out incredulously. “Fuck! That lanky piece of shit! That fucker’s going down!“ They had never sounded so serious in all their life. And so you needed to take action.
“Ashton. Babe! It’s okay, just leave him he’s not worth it.” Yet, it was not okay, and he was not paying attention. Like a flash, Ashton was at the bedroom door and screaming out.
“Oi, Grass! Grass! Where the shit are you?”
“They’re powered down. Ashton, don’t worry-“
“Argh, fuck!” they shouted, now moving at pace throughout your shared room. Trinkets and knickknacks alike were tossed around - no, thrown around - as Ashton scrambled from place to place at lightning speed, searching for something unknown. He grunted as he rummaged even further; you simply stood in the centre of the room, slightly startled by your partner’s sudden burst of movement. Eventually, with a cheer of triumph, from under a pile of multicoloured fabric he pulled out a slightly dusty red vial. Despite the slight discolouration, it was clearly a healing potion long forgotten and Ashton was soon back in front of you, pulling the cork out.
“Wait, no, I don’t need that,” you protested, “Ashton, you need these a lot more than I-“. You were cut off by Ashton shoving the neck of the bottle right into your mouth mid-sentence. The glass clinked against your teeth at the force as Ashton tipped the bottom of the bottle up, pouring the entire potion down your neck. You gagged as the bitter liquid hit the back of your throat. For all the difficulty of drinking the healing potion, it did thankfully begin to help you, like water refreshing you after wandering the dessert for a month. A dull ache passed through each of your injuries as the skin started to knit back together, eventually leaving no trace of ever tarnishing you but the now drying blood. You spent maybe five seconds checking over your body and by the time you looked up again, Ashton already had his trusty glass hammer clutched tightly in his hand. You had one last chance to stop him.
“Ashton, please, just stay here with me. You kill him and you’ll get caught and then gods know what will happen to you!” You pleaded to them, grabbing their arm, not wanting any more trouble for the day.
“Angel, I regret to inform you that I honestly don’t give a fuck,” Ashton growled lowly. “If that bitch thinks he can touch you and get away with it, he’s got another fucking thing coming.” He grasped the side of your head softly again, brushing a lock of hair behind your ear.
“I’ll be back soon,” he whispered and rose to place an uncharacteristically gentle kiss on your forehead, before sprinting out of the room, one mission on his mind.
And there you were left, alone, staring off at the space your sparking barbarian once stood.
Even in times like this, he was beautiful to watch.
A singular tear rose in your eyes and fell as your exhaustion battled with new anxiety for Ashton’s safety. Of course you enjoyed your mountain of a boyfriend sweeping in to beat down those who had wronged you – I mean, who wouldn’t? – but your dear Ashton also had a tendency of not being the subtlest creature in the world. Sure his mystic colourful powers could occasionally let him pass through like a ghost, but not always. Frequently, they could be found in a fight, on the run from a fight, or on their arse thrown out for being in a fight. But they were just silly bar fights; this was personal. You just didn’t want him in trouble and it would bite away at you until he was back in your arms, safe.
However, predictably, exhaustion won out and you soon fought yourself flat out on the bed, still caked in your own blood, but no energy in your waking spirit to clean yourself up.
The next – how long had it been? – was spent in a daze, maybe sleeping, maybe just staring off, disassociating from the stresses of the day. Until Ashton emerged back through your door with a slam, sprayed slightly with blood that did not look like his own. You didn’t raise your head from the pillow, still waking from your haze, but you watched through glassy eyes as Ashton quietly placed down his trusty hammer in the corner of the room, slipped off his boots and padded over to you. He gently perched on the side of the bed and reached a calloused hand down to stroke your hair. His fingers were so tender and threaded through, caressing your scalp, almost sending you back to sleep. Gazing up at them, you saw the same intensity as before flooding their eyes, but this time the rage was gone, now replaced with so much love. Everything Ashton did carried that fire, that passion, but it always moulded itself into new shapes and forms, sometimes surprising even you. That’s probably what drew you too him, that fire, always burning bright out of every pore on his tough skin; no matter what he did or felt, it was always with such ferocious and intensity that you couldn’t look away, only stare further into the flames. But they never burnt you. They caressed you, held you, protected you at all costs. Not always in the safest of ways, but the intention was good and pure.
Ashton softly smiled at you and, without looking, reached back to find a (vaguely) clean cloth and started to dab at the dried blood along the side of your face. You stayed perfectly still, letting him work, enjoying this rarely seen quiet Ashton. They cleaned you up surprisingly well despite this not being their forte, moving from your face down to the marks on your neck, doing their slightly clumsy best, trying to remember the kinds of actions FCG would perform when in cleric-mode.
When all the dark red streaks had gone from upon your skin, Ashton placed down the cloth, but kept their hand cupped around your face. You threaded your own fingers with his and looked up.
“You get him?” you whispered.
“Yeah, I got him,” Ashton replied, just as softly.
A rush of emotions took over you all of a sudden: the relief that that fucking man who touched you so horribly had been dealt with, the pain of your whole bloody ordeal, the adoration you felt for your soft punk rock who cared for you so well, even in the ways he was not as accustomed to. You choked, more hot tears running down your cheeks. Ashton immediately bundled you up into their strong arms and held you in a tight hug against his chest.
“Aww fuck, Angel. Okay, okay, come here,” they cooed into your ear as your cries muffled into the leather of their jacket. “Don’t worry, baby, I’ve got you. I’ve always got you.” And you believed every word of it. You grasped onto them like a lifeline with heavy and shaking breaths as you slowly pulled yourself back from the brink with his help.
“You okay now?” Ashton asked after a while and you nodded looking up through your eyelashes from your place on his lap.
“Shit, I’m sorry did that, Y/N. Fuck, I was just so fucking angry! I don’t care about a lot of things, but, goddamn, I care a lot about you. And I never wanna to see you like that again. I’ll do anything to make sure you don’t.” Ashton poured his heart out to you, his brutal honestly always hitting you right in the heart. You sat up and pressed your lips to his in a passionate kiss. Your eyes fluttered closed as you gripped onto each other like you were the last things left in Exandria. The kiss deepened as your tongues slid across each other, tracing the other’s lips and swallowing their sighs. You pulled away for breath, but remained trapped in Ashton’s warm grasp, as he continued his assault of kisses over your cheeks. They came to rest soon, forehead pressed together with yours, soft eyes staring into yours in peace.
“Fuck, I love you, Angel,” Ashton murmured, his love and devotion towards you on display for all the world to see.
“I love you too, Ash,” you whispered back with a beaming smile. Ashton gave you one more quick peck before he shifted his position, lying down on the bed with you remaining on top of him, still encased in his arms. You both laid there in silence, listening to the other’s heartbeat, until Ashton spoke, brushing the hair out of your eyes.
“What was that you said before about Deep Speech?” they asked and you giggled at his curiosity.
“I may or may not have insulted Rackoth’s mother… in Deep Speech,” you admitted shyly as Ashton’s eyes widened.
“That’s so cool. Wait, how do you know Deep Speech? Who are you?” they marvelled at your admission as you sniggered. “What did you say? Like in Deep Speech.” You repeated the deep grinding growls you had shouted at Rackoth and your partner’s jaw dropped.
“Okay, that’s hot, please talk to me more in Deep Speech,” you laughed out loud at Ashton’s antics (and remembered that information for later…). “I wish I’d brought you with me now. It was fucking great seeing him scared. Shit, I robbed you of your revenge quest, didn’t I?” Ashton carried on rambling, clearly having enjoyed being your knight in shining armour. Note to self: ask them later what they actually did to Rackoth…
“I swear to the gods if you said ‘Smiley fuckin’ day!’ just before knocking him out, I’m breaking up with you,” you joked. Ashton held a hand to his heart in mock hurt and tickled you away from your non-injured body parts as you cackled.
Your old friend exhaustion soon popped back up again as you let out a yawn, burrowing yourself further into Ashton’s body, nuzzling into his neck. His arms hugged you closer.
“Get some rest, love, I’ll be here when you wake up.”
You took their advice, letting your dreams overtake you, staring at the one you loved most until your eyes eventually closed.
Ashton would protect you. They always will. Come what may.

Hello! Can I request Camilo x reader where reader’s magic is like chains kinda for example : they can summon chains and it’s really hard to break so it can useful for the town? That’s if you don’t mind ofc!!!
well look what i caught
Camilo x gn reader short fic
you didn't really give a plot so i couldn't think about anything other than kuropika.
summary: reader is the first person who isn't in the family to get a gift, Alma thinks this is a good opportunity for more unique powers in the next generation. Camilo... Not so much...
warnings: pre movie and pre relationship. nothing serious.
Cat and Mouse.
Y/n and Camilo
it wasn't a secret how the two of you circle around each other since Y/n got a gift. That wasn't supposed to happen. up until then the two of them had been friends. maybe even liked each other until Camilo was scared away by the fact that they two had gotten a power.
But Alma Madrigal was ecstatic, a non-Madrigal who had a gift! In her brain it increased the odds that their children would bring better gifts for the community in her eyes. Who better than to push her first born grandson towards?
and so the game of cat and mouse began. Senora Madrigal and their Mother pushed them to build a bond with Camilo while the shapeshifter in question avoided them like the plague. It wasn't that he didn't like them per se. He just didn't want to end up like Isabela, stuck with someone he barely knew for his Abuela's sake. No matter how pretty he thought they were...
But still...the Encanto was small and avoiding them was so much work. especially when they spent so much time getting chores from his Abuela.
he sighed and skipped a rock along the river. He'd finished his last assignment and wasn't quite ready to go for a new one yet. He just needed a break.
However, it was cut short by leaves rustling. He turned his head and let out a sigh of relief. Luisa.
"Ah Primo! What are you doing out here?" she waved enthusiastically unfazed by the large stone bridge on her shoulder.
"just resting a bit. not feeling well." he mumbled relaxing back down amongst the rocks.
"Luisa! slow down you powerhouse-" a voice exclaimed from the trees making Camilo tense back up. The Cat. "I'm the one lowering the bridge down." they whined tumbling less than elegantly out of the greenery.
"y/n." he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose oh Camilo Hi they look surprised to see him so this was definitely not part of their game still They smiled mischievously at him and it made his face flush. nope. "Well I guess I should let you guys work on moving the bridge for the third time this week." He fumbled over his words, awkwardly raising himself from his spot on the rocks. Unfortunately for him he was less than graceful in his attempts to escape; his foot got caught on a rock, sending him flying backwards towards the river. And his brain panicked, going over anyway he could escape without hitting the water. It's not that he couldn't swim but it's not exactly like he was the most elegant swimmer he'd ever met. He never really had the time to learn beyond the basics. Louisa lunged forward to catch him but seemed to remember that her hands weren't free and just as his body began dangling over the river he felt chains wrapped around his body and suddenly he wasn't falling anymore.
"well…would you look at when I caught it? a mouse." in front of him not very far away was the cat. Y/n. "If I help you will you stop avoiding me? I'm not trying to marry you, just get to know you, loser."
"please." he sighed. "Just help me up."
y/n smiled pulling him up watching him stumble closer to them. "Oh I was going to help you up either way but I'm glad that we'll be spending more time together."
"I'm sure you are, Gatito." the two of them stared at each for a few seconds until a loud cough broke their eye contact.
"oh! SHIT-" Y/n jumped their chains releasing Camilio's body leaving him stumbling forward towards them
"yeah...my shoulder is falling asleep holding this bridge." Luisa mutters look anywhere BUT the nervous flustered flirting teenagers in front of her.
"right sorry…"

Waters Brackish and Briny (four)
[Ralph Lamont X Female Reader]
Summary: the first of many strange and unusual occurrences to come in your new home. Previous Masterlist Next
Tags: 15+ | 2k words | hauntings, an argument, physical intimidation 😬, secrets, crying
AN: hey remember there were ghosts in Things Seen and Heard? Personally I hate angst so sorry y'all 😔 I will NOT leave it here for long
SECOND WEEK
Ralph went back to work and the house became empty once more. Empty except for yourself and the house. And possibly a rat or two. You set up traps and finished moving the furniture in the downstairs rooms into place. The previous owners left a decently conditioned upright piano behind when they moved. A few scuffs on the legs and a toy soldier in the strings, but perfectly playable and barely out of tune. Nothing a little warm up couldn't change.
You ate lunch on the piano bench, glaring at the unfinished archway leading to the solar room. Should you sweep first or measure the windows to be fitted for panes? Do you want regular clear glass or some stained glass? Get crazy with it?
You waste a couple hours playing basic melodies and manage to squeeze in time to do all the measurements for the windows before 3 pm. You take down the paper on the floor most window holes and sweep the dust and leaves and branches outside. You mop till the hardwood floor shines but you hate the white beech wood and add varnish to the To Do list.
You ring up the Vayle boys you met the day you unloaded your furniture. "Hey Eddie! I was planning on making something for you and Cole as a thank you but I need some supplies first."
It rained in the afternoon and Ralph came home with mud on his pants. "Baby what happened? Did you fall?"
Ralph looked supremely annoyed. "One of the kids took a tumble and grabbed me for support. We both went down."
You know he's in a sour mood but you can't stifle your laughter. You coo at him, looking over the damage to his suit. He's got mud caked on the seat of his pants and flecks of it as high as the back of his neck. You help him strip as much as appropriate with guests in the house.
Your husband sniffs the vanilla scent from the air and looks at you incredulously. "Did you make cookies?"
"Yeah," you said, "for Eddie and Cole."
The boys waved at your husband from the kitchen counter. He gives a lustless wave back and trudges upstairs in his under things. You tip the boys with the rest of the cookies in an old dish and send them on their way home.
You open your bedroom door to find Ralph butt ass naked and on his knees looking for something.
"We should do this more often," you tease.
Ralph looks up and raises an eyebrow at you then notices the position he's put himself in. "Now's not the time for jokes: do you know where the luffa is?"
You cross your arms. "Well it's not under the bed…"
"Helpful." Ralph climbs to his feet and his nose bumps yours. "Where. Is. The luffa."
"Behind the bathroom door on a hook."
"Why?" Ralph takes three steps towards the bathroom, then quickly retraces them and this time his forehead collides with you none too gently. "And not saving me a cookie? Uncool."
"Open your mouth." His eyes go dark for a second and you roll yours. "Do it."
You plant the last cookie in his mouth and flop onto the bedspread. "Go. Shower. I'll clean up the kitchen."
The house creaks at night. Sometimes the sounds make the hair on your neck stand on end, but you simply squeeze Ralph and drift back to sleep. In the haze of a dream you think you hear something small and glass break a few rooms over but you can't hold onto your memories for long like this.
Except tonight there is more than sounds. Beneath the smell of your body wash on Ralph's skin, something tickles the back of your throat. It's acrid and raw pulling you from the fringes of sleep into reality fast. You sniff the air and the scent seems to grow ten times stronger. It's like… it's like…
You shake Ralph by the shoulder. He doesn't stir an inch. The smell is so strong you're choking on it. You grab Ralph and shake him like a doll until he bursts into wakefulness.
"What? What?!"
"Do you smell that?"
"What?" His eyes are completely unfocused, face pinched in annoyance.
"It smells like…" you turn on the bedside lamp much to his dismay. "It's like gasoline or something."
Ralph growls and rubs at his eyes. "Exhaust fumes maybe. Ralph! We have to get up– we have to get out!"
Somehow you manage to drag him out of bed and down the stairs. The smell gets weaker but it's still there burning in your nostrils like actual fire. Your eyes search frantically for that yellow orange flicker in every room to no avail. It doesn't ease your fear.
"Come on." You push Ralph outside and the man almost falls off the wrap-around porch. His eyes are glued shut, legs shaking as he stands, and trapped in that sleep state.
You rack your brain for ideas. Is the car on fire? Should you check the garage? Do you have a working fire extinguisher? There's one in the garage by the door but you doubt it's up to date.
"Ralph baby please wake up, I need you…"
You cling to his arm and he manages to crack one eye open. "The fuck is going on?"
"Something's wrong," you stutter, "I think he's here."
Ralph opened his other eye and looked at you. His head swiveled to and fro over his shoulders, trying to peer out into the dark cover of night to find anyone lurking in the dark. His grip on your arm is tight, almost hurts. He looks back at you, puzzled.
"Where?"
You didn't know where, in fact you don't know why you said that. He had no idea where the two of you were. For all you know he might not even be a he at all. You've never met them but you're haunted by them.
You shake your head and focus on the danger of now. "Fumes. I woke up and it smelled like exhaust fumes in our room."
"I didn't smell anything," Ralph says.
You growl. "I did. We need to call someone, we can't go back in the house. What if it's filled with gas and there is an open flame somewhere?"
Ralph looks around then tries to walk past you towards the door. You catch him with a look of disbelief.
"Did you not just hear a single word I said?!"
Ralph sweeps your bruising grip from his arm. He keeps walking but he never breaks eye contact with you. He's definitely awake now.
"If there's fumes, it's coming from the garage. Lord knows you're not going to let me look knowing that," he says stepping past the threshold into the mud closet next to the kitchen, "so we need to call someone."
He picks up the phone from its cradle and dials 9-1-1. "Unless you have some secret satelite phone hidden in the barn, I'm all ears on how we call someone…"
He's right. He's being an asshole about it but he's right. You can smell the fumes as you step in, desperate not to be far from him no matter what happens. Ralph plucks the housecoat from the hook by the door and fits it around your shoulders. You didn't realize you were shivering.
The sheriff comes out tonight and it's half past 2 am. You and Ralph are waiting outside, a reasonable distance from the house in case an explosion was imminent but it never came. Sheriff Laughton brought a fire team and they searched the house.
Travis– as he asked them to call him– asked a few meandering questions. Ralph held your hand and answered as many as he dared, looking to you for the questions you could answer better. They both noticed your thousand yard stare but said nothing.
Travis came back with the fire team and a long, befuddled face. "They checked over every inch of that house and didn't find anything except a broken lightbulb in the laundry closet."
Ralphie did not return your gaze, instead he asked. "Nothing at all?"
Travis scratched his head. "If there was something, it's gone now. I might have your cars looked at just in case, there's a mechanic about 10 miles yonder I can give you directions to."
Ralph's hand smoothed over your shoulder to try warming you up. "No, no that's OK, I have a mechanic right here."
You slap his chest for teasing you but your weak smile falls not a moment later. How can that be? They found nothing? Had you imagined the whole thing? But it had felt so real…
By the time you brought your mind back to the present, you found Ralph had moved you to the kitchen and offered Travis a cup of coffee for his troubles. The fire team was packed up and driving off the property, leaving only the sheriff's cruiser out in that empty night.
"Ralph," you whispered over the sink. "I think we should call Reagan…"
"No."
You blinked. He hadn't even taken a second to consider it, just… dismissed you out of hand like you were an annoyance. You crossed your arms over your chest and glared.
"If you won't, I will."
Ralph beat you to the phone and blocked your path, you glimpsed Travis standing awkwardly in the door but paid him no more than a passing thought.
This was about to get ugly.
"I. Am not crazy." You keep your voice low but the quiver of anger still seeps through. "I know what I smelled. It was real. If you're not going to ask for help, then fine, but do not stand in my way because of your pride."
Ralph had that look in his eyes– the dangerous look. "Oh, honey, no… I told you– we are not calling Reagan."
He kept shaking his head minutely, like it was the only thing keeping him from screaming. "That's final. I mean it, baby. I will lock you in that fucking basement if you touch that phone. I will burn this fucking house down before I let you even look at that dial."
Your jaw hit the floor but before you could protest, Ralph had your arm in a death grip as he began to drag you out into the hallway. He was probably trying to push you to the bedroom but his out of character threat had rocked you.
"Let me go," you growled, "Ralph! Stop it!"
Travis called out to you two and you tried to wipe that innate look of fear from your face. Ralph seemed to snap out of it a bit when he realized you weren't alone and he finally released your arm. It didn't stop him from bending over you until his nose brushed yours and in a growl commanded you to go upstairs.
Now is not the time to cry. Crying right now feels like weakness. You're not sad– you're fucking furious with him right now. But you're not about to make a bigger scene in front of this cop, so you push past him and head for the stairs.
The blood racing in your veins is making your face hot and head pound. You can hear Ralph follow you up shortly, likely to continue the argument further but you are beyond listening at this point. You turn just in time to see him look at you funny– why are you mad?-- before slamming the door so hard you hear the wood around the lock almost splinter.
He doesn't try the door. The light of the hallway goes out and you listen to him sigh as he heads for the couch to sleep on. You throw yourself onto your bed alone and cry into your pillow until exhaustion takes you to a dreamless black sleep.

I’m kind of nervous about this chapter because this was the situation that inspired the entire story, so please let me know what you think!
I’m going to try to have the next chapter out quicker! Put who knows, I got worms in my brain!
Masterlist AO3
After almost taking another roll around the ship — thanks to Din's lack of a warning — Sedona was now aware of what hyperspace felt like. It was actually rather calm, quiet, and still. She wished she could see it, but she didn't really know if she should attempt to enter the cockpit. Instead, turning to face her bags, she figured it was a good time to get some real clothes on. The child cooed sadly when she set him down in the sleeping compartment, and though she hated to, she ignored him and knelt by her suitcase. Searching for something somewhat warm through the clothes that were packed for Florida was proving difficult. She settled on black leggings, an old grey Ron Jon Surf Shop hoodie, and a pair of soft crew socks. A sports bra and a fresh pair of underwear completed the 'look' and she gathered her things and headed to the shower room.
Not before quickly turning back and grabbing her deodorant, because, yuck.
With a deep breath, she decided it was finally time to look at herself.
Nothing was exciting or truly different to note about the person reflected back to her in the foggy mirror. It was the same girl, blue eyes, short brown hair, but now there was a brand new massive bruise on her left temple. Her dark circles were deeper, and her eyes were tired. But other than the wound there was nothing new. She discarded her pajamas, and slipped into the clean clothes, she never thought it would feel this good to be fully covered. Her arms all the way to her toes now concealed in comfortable fabric, and she was grateful. She quickly put her hair into a folded bun, and set to her second task, putting that extra bacta patch on her head.
Peli made it look much easier. Whatever it was, was slimy and hard to get a grip on, but once it was placed, it stuck. So now she had a slightly lopsided, oversized band-aid on her head. And she knew it was going to hurt like a bitch to yank out of her hair. Taking one last look in the mirror, she sighed.
Honestly, she looked like she was about to go take a plane trip back home, and it tugged her heart a little bit.
Shaking her head she picked her things back up and opened the door to exit into the hull. A shiny helmet of beskar startled her, he must've just jumped down from the cockpit, as he was facing her through the ladder. She tried not to think too much about the way he stared for a bit too long, most likely just assessing her change in appearance. Before she could say anything he turned sharply, stepping over to where the child pouted in the sleeping compartment. She scooted by them, heading to put her things back in her bag. And when she straightened up to see what he was doing, he was already halfway up the ladder, taking the child with him.
Sedona tried not to dwell on it too much, it's not like he knew her, he barely even trusted her. He didn't owe her any more kindness than he was already giving her. But it really didn't help when she felt like she knew him. She needed to get that idea out of her head, she didn't know jack shit about what went through his head. Seeing someone on screen is so much different than actually being around them, and Sedona had to make sure she didn't get too comfortable too fast— she couldn't afford any slip-ups. So for now she would take it slow, tiptoe around the Crest, and do what she needed to do when called.
In pursuit of being quiet, she decided now might be a good time to check her phone. She settled herself in the sleeping compartment, purse in her lap, and plucked it from the bag. The time read 10:34 am, and obviously, there was no way of telling if that was right. Her calendar read two days since she had been ripped from her hotel room, and she was pretty sure that would be reliable. As long as she had some way of knowing how long she'd been here, she could keep herself grounded.
It didn't even cross her mind that she should try to find some way to get back home.
Sedona dozed off after a while, curled around her purse in the sleeping compartment. Her circadian rhythm was thrown off, or maybe it was like some kind of space-sickness. She was just tired, and she didn't know what else to do. The plot was getting scrambled in her head, and until Din jogged her mind in some way, she wasn't going to risk getting a headache thinking about it.
So she slept, the soft hum of hyperspace lulling her into relaxation, no matter how uncomfortable the bed was.
~o~o~o~
That was how Din found her a few hours later. Curled like a lothcat around one of her smaller bags. The child gurgled in happiness at the sight of her— he was the reason they were down there, wailing incessantly at the ladder. He didn't understand why he liked her so much, but if he trusted anyone, it was the child. So he set him down next to her knees, a position they had just recently been in. The child began climbing up her legs, and Din could only look on in amusement as she grumbled something incoherent.
The toddler reached his intended destination, her shoulder, and began to tap his tiny hands on her cheek. Din couldn't stop a small smile from breaking his features, thankful for the helmet once again. Her eyes popped open, panic clear on her features as she turned to look at what was tapping her face, and a smile overtook her.
"Hey little guy, how'd you get up there." Din pretended not to notice the roughness of her voice or the sleepy smile that turned to face him. "Oh I see now, you had an accomplice."
She slowly sat up, taking care to hold the child steady. She folded her legs in front of her, setting him in her lap. The child smiled up at him, and before he could stop himself, a gloved hand reached out and stroked his ear. Din wasn't used to showing affection in front of others, especially people he didn't fully trust. But the atmosphere was so relaxed, and it seems his body reacted before his mind could stop it.
"Did we stop somewhere?" Her quiet voice broke him out of his trance, his head snapped back up to meet hers. She looked worried, her eyes searched the helmet, and her teeth caught her bottom lip. Din told himself he was just observing a possible threat, analyzing her tells.
Subconsciously, that was a different story.
"No," he paused to clear his throat when it came out in a whisper. "I've picked up a job, I'm changing our course, and we'll be there in an hour... I just—" well Din didn't really know why exactly he felt the need to warn her. "I just wanted to know if you had... anything to tell me." Right, just trying to get information. Her eyes seemed to light up in recognition, her brow furrowed in concentration.
"Who- or what is the job exactly." She looked confused still, her eyes zoned in on something in the distance, deep in thought.
"It's with an old... acquaintance of mine." His voice was rougher than he intended, still not really enjoying the idea of the job. But by the way her eyes darkened, he knew it was probably going to be a big mistake.
~o~o~o~
Sedona's mind instantly hooked onto the information and dragged it from the depths of the scramble. This situation, she knew well. This episode, she had watched, many times. For the plot... not for the way the red lights danced off beskar or the amazingly hot fight scenes.
No for the plot.
She knew what she needed to do.
"They betray you, they're going to try and shove you in a cell and leave you there... and a droid tries to shoot the baby— and they're all massive dicks, every one of them." Okay. That sounded crazy, she didn't mean for everything to tumble out like that. According to the way Din suddenly stood straight and alert, she probably didn't say the right things. "Wait... but you get out of it, no one gets hurt— except for the assholes— but they deserved it a-and you get money."
He just stood there, still as a rock. She couldn't imagine how all of that sounded to him. He probably didn't even know what the mission was supposed to be, and she had already informed him it was doomed from the start.
Yeah, I gotta work on the info delivery.
He let out a long sigh. His fingers twitched at his side, he probably would've rubbed his forehead in frustration if he could. She could feel herself shrinking in the silence, she unconsciously held onto the baby in her lap a little tighter. He cooed at her, seemingly sensing her anxiety. His little 3 clawed hands tapped at hers that held his waist.
"Well... like I said, an hour." He then turned and quickly made his way to the ladder. Climbing into the cockpit in almost record time. Sedona let a long sigh escape her, bringing one hand up to rub her eyes. She wasn't tired anymore, anxiety had squandered that quickly.
She had to either, A. Figure out some way to keep Din from being tricked and captured. Or B. Make sure Grogu doesn't alert the droid of his presence. For some reason, the situation felt wrong. She knew this mission was on course to go sour, but there was a bad feeling whispering at the edges of her mind.
Everything was feeling super, extra, bad and it was making her stomach hurt.
Or maybe she was just fucking starving.
Sedona realized she had never eaten the 'bar' Peli had given her. And an all-liquid diet the day before probably wasn't helping her whole, situation. Moving the child from her lap, she placed her feet on the ground. Thankful for her socks as the cold of the metal seeped through the fabric. She walked over to her suitcase— not really remembering where she had put the food— the entire evening leading up to her fight with Toro was a blur. When she didn't find it in her purse, she searched through her suitcase. Her hands touched the foil wrapping, and suddenly there was another presence at her side.
The little green gremlin was a bloodhound for food, it was like he read her mind and teleported to her. Letting out an excited squeal when she brought the bar into view, Sedona couldn't help but laugh with him. Sitting cross-legged in front of her suitcase she invited him to sit with her. And with more adorable grunts and snorts he sat down in between her legs, eyes never leaving the bar.
"Okay we can share, but don't tell your dad" she whispered, he made a soft coo in response. The bar looked like someone had put a granola bar through a grinder, and then reformed it back into a bar. Not exactly the most appetizing thing, but food was food, and the little guy seemed excited. She broke off a small piece— yes she had witnessed the child swallow a frog whole— but he was so little in front of her, so she went by baby rules and gave him something small. He grabbed it in his little hands, and then she broke off a piece for herself.
It was dry, and tasted kind of like a protein bar, but not at all like a protein bar. It was just different, but with the way the child inhaled it, she knew it was probably worth eating. They carried on like this till it was gone, Grogu munching happily, not minding the crumbs that fell into his lap. She was able to choke it down with the assistance of the water bottle that still sat in her purse. But eating didn't seem to help the way her stomach twisted in worry. When she wasn't distracting herself by watching the child, her mind wandered dangerously.
She couldn't tell if the walls her mind had put up the moment she dropped on the Crest were finally crumbling. Or if something was actually wrong. Her head was starting to hurt again, and now with a stomach ache, she felt like she was starting to break down. She needed another distraction.
Crumbling up the wrapper she turned to her suitcase. The child babbled a little, probably wondering if she had more food. Instead, she was just looking for anything; she moved through everything in the bag, toiletries, bras, a journal. And then she felt something solid. Her boots! She had honestly figured she didn't have any shoes here. Those had been the first thing to come out of her suitcase when she got to her hotel. But now, pulling her work boots from the depths, it was the first time she had actually been excited to see them. They were beat up hiking boots, with the perfect amount of ankle support and non-slip bottom to make it in space.
"Well, are you gonna let me put these on or what?" She said to the child in her lap, he tilted his head with a coo. She slowly started to straighten her legs, he made a squeal and then started to wiggle away from her. She laughed, helping him get off her lap and setting him to the side. He grunted, loudly, instantly very mad at her. She chuckled again, trying not to notice the way her hands shook as she began to lace up her boots.
Grogu toddled over to the ladder, reaching his arms up toward the cockpit. She couldn't help the smile, she finished tying her boots, standing, and headed over to the child. He was hanging from the 3rd rung of the ladder, obviously getting his speed from his father, she was able to catch him just as his 3 fingers slid off the metal. She rose and looked up with anticipation, obviously he wanted to go up there, and that meant she would have to... talk to Din.
She swallowed, but the baby in her arms let out an impatient squeal, reaching his arms up. She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.
"Um... D-Mando" she called, catching herself on the name quickly. "G-The kid wants to come up, i-is it alright if I bring him up." She hated the way she was stumbling through this, it shouldn't be that difficult to ask, but she almost shaking in fear at the prospect of being dropped off on the next planet. Her subconscious was telling her the Din she knew wouldn't do that, but this wasn't the Din she 'knew', this was a stranger. God, why did this have to be so complicated?
There was a long daunting pause. "Just don't touch anything." She let out a sigh of relief, and quickly attempted the climb to the cockpit. Proving to be much trickier with one hand. Her head breached the hole, and in front of her was something amazing. The cockpit of the Razor Crest lit up with the blue streaks of hyperspace. She stopped, awestruck at all of the buttons and levers, all of the details laid out before her. She didn't even notice the child wiggling out of her grasp.
It was beautiful, but also so terrifying. She watched the expanse of space whiz by, something her mind could've never been able to comprehend. And as she stared, she didn't notice when the pilot's chair slowly turned.
"You can come inside." She jumped at his voice, eyes meeting the helmet she didn't know was facing her. She quickly shut her mouth, just now realizing Grogu had made his way to Din's lap. Slowly, she finished the climb up the ladder and found herself at the door to the cockpit. Tentatively she stepped inside, eyes still wide in wonder, and made her way to the chair behind Din's left shoulder. He turned back to the controls, or more back to making sure the child didn't touch anything. She sat down slowly, still not entirely certain this was all real.
Swirling blue was constantly moving above and before her, it was mesmerizing, she felt herself getting lost in it. She could probably look at it for the rest of her life. It was the perfect distraction. Or until someone broke her from her daze, but she didn't expect that to happen anytime soon. Instead, she sat quietly, trying to take up as little space in the room as she could. Her thoughts were pushed to the back of her mind, she was allowed this brief moment of peace.
Sedona had held it together surprisingly well, though it was more likely she was in shock. Numb is what she would call it, seeing everything moving around her, but she didn't really feel it. A mild form of disassociation is probably what a therapist would tell her, her body was in survival mode while her brain just followed, screaming from the shadows. But at this current moment, her mind was quiet, the rolling blue was enough.
Comfortable silence, the baby sleeping, his snores being the only thing breaking through the hum of hyperspace. The pair sat quietly for what seemed to be a long time. It was the first moments of calm both had experienced at the same time, hopefully, it wouldn't be the last. In the past, the silence would have irked her, gnawed at her stomach. She probably would've started a conversation with anyone in the room. But now, it felt okay, her mind felt at ease for the first time since she'd got here. She ignored the voice that whispered, maybe it's him.
A sudden beeping broke through the serene atmosphere, Sedona jumped, while Din only moved his helmet. His hands reached out to flick some switches and punch some buttons.
She secretly wished she might be able to figure out what it all meant, but she wasn't going to get her hopes up.
"We're dropping out of hyperspace, hold on." It was an off-hand comment she realized because she didn't even have time to straighten in her spine when the ship seemed to lurch forward. Her hands flew to her sides, gripping the seat quickly. With the sudden movement, all of her anxieties flew into her throat. And as another giant space ship came into view, another emotion came forward.
Rage.
"Oh, those fuckers." The words were growled out before she even knew her mouth was open. Her eyes widening in surprise as a T-shaped visor snapped to face her. She could only shrug in response, it was the truth. Deep down, she was glad to know her shock-induced state hadn't taken everything from her, she could still talk some smack.
That was going to cause problems.
"You're staying on the ship, with the child." He had turned back to the controls, grasping the handles with gloved hands. The child in question had just woken up, cooing curiously at the scene change. "Make sure he doesn't cause any trouble, or whatever you said happens." She heard him and understood. But she was focused on trying to figure out how the hell she was going to hold her tongue when she knew what was about to happen. Din seemed to notice her unease, his helmet shifted slightly toward her, most likely confused by the white-knuckle grip she still had on the seat.
"You're going to have to gag me." The realization came suddenly, it was the only way, she did not trust herself to keep quiet. Din fully spun to face her now, even without seeing his face she could tell he was surprised and mad. She aimed for his eyes beneath the black visor, "It's the only way to shut me up." He let out a long sigh, that ended more in a frustrated growl.
"Are you serious?" His voice was sharp, serious disbelief. She nodded, it was ridiculous she knew, but with all the choice words swirling in her head, and the way she didn't have full control of herself, it really was the only way. With another growl-sigh he leaned down, ripping off a strip of material from his cape, and handed it to her, then he more or less shoved the child in her lap. "Just go— take him to the sleeping compartment, and... do it yourself."
She stood and left quickly, not wanting to anger him further. She staggered her way down the ladder, Grogu laughing at her struggles. She was panicking, her eyes darted over everything quickly, setting the child in the compartment she went over to her things. She zipped her suitcase closed, then hooked the handle to one of the nets that hung on the wall, hoping that would keep it out of way. Then with her purse, she made her way over to Grogu and climbed in after him. He babbled excitedly, not picking up on the frazzled emotions that were rolling off her in waves.
"We are going to have a totally chill time in here." She said to the child, though it was also mostly to herself. She adjusted till her back was against the wall, and allowed Grogu to clamber onto her lap. "It's gonna be totally cool and nothing bad is going to happen, alright?" Her voice had risen multiple octaves, and it seemed the gremlin had finally caught on to her panic. He tilted his head at her, making a much smaller, almost sadder sound. She instantly felt bad; making shushing noises, she rubbed his little back as he pouted up at her. The ship started to wobble, Din was maneuvering it into the bigger space ship, she held onto the little creature. And with a big thump, they were stopped.
Sedona let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. Grogu's ears seemed to perk up at that, he settled down onto her lap. Listening carefully to the noises above her, she could hear Din moving around before steps began to descend on the ladder. He paused in front of the compartment, carefully observing the situation. Sedona could only stare back, doing her best not to let him know how scared she was, but he probably had a fear sensor on his helmet. Before he could turn away her voice betrayed her again.
"Di-Mando... could I have a weapon." It was a whisper, she was doing the best she could to hold herself together. But this was becoming more and more real by the second. He stared at her for much longer than she wanted, even Grogu made a small whine at the atmosphere. Then his hand moved to his wrist, tapping something, and a compartment opened adjacent to the one she was in. She peaked around the corner, eyes widening at all of the weapons laid out. And she almost laughed at the sight of her pink taser, placed there among all of the space gadgets. He grabbed that, setting it in front of her.
Without a word, he turned, fingers working at his wrist again. Almost simultaneously, the weapons doors and the door to her compartment shut. While the side ship door opened. She and Grogu were alone in the dimly lit compartment. He turned to look at her, head tilting in confusion. And she could only shrug in response.
There was silence on the ship for what felt like hours. Sedona and Grogu sat quietly, only the child breaking the silence with his babbles. She would shush him quickly; not really knowing when the crew would be joining the ship, and she didn't want their cover blown sooner than it needed to be. When his fussing became a bit more persistent, she gave him her keys that were still tucked in her purse. His big eyes widened further, entranced by the shiny metal and jingles.
Because how else do you calm a baby you don't know what to do with, you give it your keys. Fuck.
A heavy sigh passed through her as she leaned her head back against the wall. She's trying desperately to keep her emotions under control, obviously, Grogu could sense them, so if she was calm, he was calm. And that was most important right now. Her mind was constantly on edge, just waiting for something to happen. She didn't want to tie her mouth yet, fearing it would startle the child. Instead, she chewed on her lip, distracted by the soft tinkling of her keys.
The wait was soon over.
Metallic footsteps were making their way up the ramp. Thinking fast she tied the strip of fabric around her mouth, then held the child close. He cooed, moving his head up to face her before his ears flicked up in surprise. She tried to give him a smile.
It definitely looked absolutely horrifying.
His little features contorted into a frown, and a whimper was heard before the footsteps on the ship drew closer. They both snapped their heads to stare at the unmoving compartment door. Ears perked, listening closely as she heard someone ascend to the cockpit. There were noises outside of the ship, people were gathering, she felt her heart rate increase sharply. She squeezed them further into the corner of the compartment. The mattress creaked so loudly in the silence, but thankfully the noises coming from above them seemed to drown it out.
Her brain had ceased its flow of information. She wasn't sure who entered the ship first, it could be Din for all she knew. But she knew there were about to be a lot more people, and then shit was going to go down. Her mouth had gone dry thanks to the fabric, and the child had started to whine. She tried to shush him, but it came out more in weird hissing sounds. His eyes bugged out as he looked at her in fear, pushing his arms against her chest. She moved to set him down behind her, pretending her heart didn't break at the sight. She maneuvered herself more to the front of the compartment, leaving the keys behind for him.
She almost didn't notice the grumbling that followed the metallic clink of someone leaving the ship. The person was complaining, aggressively, but the voice was definitely not human.
Of course. That shitty droid.
The one emotion that had been hardest to keep at bay was rising up again. It coiled in her throat, sharpening her tongue with nasty thoughts. She hated this group, and all the shit they say to Din and the violent betrayal. She didn't know how she was going to be able to handle it if it happens right in front of her— the fabric in her mouth was going to be her saving grace. She really did not want to risk making this even worse for Din than it already would be.
And sure, she knows they get their due karma in the end. But the nagging pit in her stomach, the feeling of wrong, was eating her alive. She reached for the taser that sat at the front of the compartment and maneuvered her back to Grogu. If that compartment opens, she was going to fight like hell.
And that's how she waited.
And waited.
Back turned to the child as he jangled her keys around. She waited as voices crept closer to the Crest. As someone made their way up the ramp, then another. Until something was set down with a heavy thump, and a murmur of voices filled the hull. No one was really saying anything of importance, just fighting about who got to sit where. Sedona turned her head back to the child, who was now also listening attentively. His ears perked, owlish eyes met hers, the keys now forgotten in his little hands. He made a small 'ooo' sound and pointed to the compartment door, and she shrugged, holding her finger up to her mouth in a shushing motion.
Then there was the sound of the hatch closing, her head snapped back to the door. Trying to picture the scene behind the metal. She heard someone climbing the ladder, and then there was more grumbling. It wasn't long after, the ship began to move, she braced her hands behind her back as the compartment rocked. She looked back at the child, who was now back to jangling the keys around, she tried not to cringe at the sound, hoping they couldn't hear it.
She couldn't help thinking how insane this was. She was sitting in a space ship with a little green alien, gagged, and listening to other aliens argue. Her breath had started to quicken, and she could feel her pulse thumping in her neck.
This is so fucked up. What the hell am I even doing here. I'm going crazy-
Her spiraling thoughts were cut off when she felt a small hand on her back. She turned, blinking away a tear that had formed in her eye. Grogu made a tiny coo, his eyes wide. She instantly felt bad, he could sense her distress and it was making him feel bad. But she almost let out a sob when the little creature leaned forward, setting both his arms on her back in a tiny hug. A strangled noise tore through her throat, lifting one of her hands to pat his wrinkled little head. He made a snorting noise, one of the cutest things in the world, before plopping down and playing with the keys again. The interaction so small, but it had immediately calmed her down.
God, I can see why everyone loves this little shit.
She felt the atmosphere speed up, and the telltale feeling of hyperspace overtook the ship. A sound she recognized made her snap her head back to the door. The weapons hold adjacent to the sleeping compartment was open. She hadn't even heard their earlier conversations, too entranced by the little guy. She couldn't remember who had opened the door, but from the grumbling, it sounded like the one she hated most. Everything was happening much faster, but it felt as if time had slowed. She distantly registered the thump of someone jumping down the ladder, then the doors closing, and someone immediately hitting them.
"Hey, hey, hey. Okay. Okay. Okay, I get it. I'm a little particular about my personal space too." That voice, God she knew that voice. Her blood boiled as she listened further. "So let's just do this job. We get in, we get out, and you don't have to see our faces anymore."
How ironic, she almost rolled her eyes.
"Someone tell me why we even need a Mandalorian." The voice was much closer than she wanted it to be.
"Well, apparently they're the greatest warriors in the galaxy." There was a pause, Sedona gritted her teeth around the cloth. "So they say"
"Then why are they all dead"
And there was laughter. She heard a sharp giggle, the kind that makes your lip curl. And she felt herself shaking— she wanted to say something so fucking bad. She didn't know how Din could just take all of this.
"Well, you flew with him, Xi'an— Is he as good as they say?"
"Ask him about the job on Alzoc 111." Their voices grated her ears. Subconsciously she really did want to know what happened on Alzoc 111"
"I did what I had to." But this voice, with his calculated roughness, broke her heart. She didn't know how much more she could take before words started leaving her mouth. She heard a female voice, and her hands curled into fists behind her. She could hear what they were saying, but it wasn't fully registering anymore. Her ears rung with rage, the feeling of the child still leaning against her back was the only thing keeping her from ripping off the gag and screaming.
Her eyes narrowed at the continued jeering and insults. She tried to blink away the tears of anger that burned her eyes. Pressing all of her weight into her arms, her muscles tense. Ready for what was coming next.
The ringing in her ears didn't stop, even as a fistfight took place outside her door.
Only when she was suddenly faced by the people she did not want to see, did everything come crashing back to the surface.
The trio looked at her in shock, Din out of her view. She sees Mayfield's mouth moving as he walks closer to her, but she only picked up the last of his sentence.
"— you get lonely up here buddy? Huh." He stepped up to the compartment, Xi'an sauntered after him. Sedona tried not to focus on the way the other woman's gaze twisted into disgust. She turned her head to meet all 3 of their eyes, Burg looking even more devil-like up close.
"Why do you have your bed warmer tied up like that huh?" Din didn't answer Mayfield, she couldn't even see him, but with the way Burg had his arm locked out of view, he was probably being held back. "Is that how he kept you, huh, Xi'an? Is that how he likes 'em?" The woman in question hissed in response, and she settled herself against the door. Knife still held loosely in her hand.
"Didn't take you for the type." She snarled at Din, her eyes predatory as they shifted away from Sedona. "Maybe that code of yours has made you soft."
And suddenly there was another voice. Though not really a voice, instead it's sounded like an angry cat in the other room. Muffled, and full of rage.
It wasn't till she noticed the others were just staring at her in silence, that she realized it was her. She was snarling like a rabid dog, her mouth has developed a mind of its own. Thankfully all the words were swallowed by the cloth.
"Well let's see what she has to say," Xi'an said with a sickening smile, sharpened yellow teeth on full display. The next actions happened so quickly, Sedona honestly didn't realize what transpired. There was a flash of metal, as Xi'an's hand darted out like a snake. A searing pain appeared on her left cheek, and the cloth holding her words in fell away. She felt herself gasp, her hand instantly flying up to cradle her cheek. And then there was laughing, the trio laughed at her pain, and it only made her angrier.
"I said," She placed her hand, now sticky with blood, behind her back. Bracing herself. "I've got a penchant for smokes and kicking douches in the mouth. Sadly for you, my last cigarette's gone out."
And with that statement, her right foot flew out. Connecting with Burg's jaw, a sickening crack rang through the hull.
Then there was chaos.
The Devaronian stumbled back, his own hand coming up to clutch his jaw with a growl. Mayfield and Xi'an jumped for their weapons. But before anyone else could cross the threshold of the sleeping compartment, there was a blaster shot— and the metal door collapsed shut. Din had shot the control panel to the door, no one could get in, or get out without the use of his fancy wrist control. There was aggressive banging on the door, Sedona feared it might dent. She could hear swearing and shouting from the other side, but she wasn't done. She sat up on her knees, slamming her hands against the metal a few times. If Din wasn't going to say it, she would.
"Fuck you Xi'an! I wanted to be your friend so bad!" She could hear an aggressive snarl over the other commotion. Burg roared, and then there was a particularly loud thump against the door.
"Fuck you, Burg! Your breath fucking reeks!" Her voice had a heavy growl in it, all of the rage she could muster put behind her words.
"And fuck you, Mayfield! Prison is going to make you it's bitch!" Her voice had risen to a scream to counteract the noise. And with a few more slaps against the metal, she sat back down. Her hand coming up to the cut on her cheek. Xi'an's blades were so sharp, they cut deep and thin. A perfect slice, that was going to leave a nasty scar. It was then she realized the other creature in the room.
Grogu let out soft whimpers at the commotion, he was trying to hide behind her purse. Her stomach dropped at the sight, instantly letting out a soft coo of her own, she reached her hand out to him, trying to let him know it would be okay. But another voice broke through the pandemonium.
"Dropping out of hyperspace now." She scooped up Grogu, and he let out a small cry of protest. But she knew what was coming next. The ship lurched foreword suddenly. "Commencing final approach now."
"Cloaking signal now" Grogu let out a scream as they were suddenly airborne. Sedona's head crashed against the ceiling of the compartment with a thump. They slammed back down, the wind getting knocked out of her lungs. Trying to catch her breath she glanced down at the child, who was relatively fine. Just panicking by the way his massive eyes stared up at her. The ship stopped with a heavy crash, and she heard the droid speaking again. But she was far more distracted by the little green hand straining to reach her cheek.
"I'll be okay buddy" she whispered, bringing her hand up to gently grab his. He frowned, babbling urgently at her. She gave him as much of a smile she could muster, hoping he accepted it. "You don't have to heal me, I'm all right." Truthfully, she wasn't really all right. Her cheek was burning, and from what she could feel, the cut ran from just under her jaw bone, all the way up to her cheekbone. A neat slice, that was still steadily leaking blood. She set Grogu to the side and reached for her purse, fishing out the travel pack of tissues, and holding one to the cut. It wasn't stitches or magical healing space goo, but she hoped it would at least stop her from bleeding all over Din's bed. A loud smack interrupted their tentative peace. Mayfield's voice followed.
"Don't think we forgot about you girl, we'll be back for you!" There was laughing, and for the first time since the door had opened, the wrongness flooded back to her stomach. She focused on taking deep even breaths, for the sake of the child who whimpered beside her. She heard a fast beeping, and then someone jumping from the ship. They were leaving, and her heart only seemed to race faster. She waited till she heard the particularly loud thump of Burg.
"Din," she cleared her throat, voice coming out raw. "Don't let them capture you." She wasn't sure if she was just talking to an empty hull, or if the Mandalorian could even hear her raspy voice.
She just hoped desperately if he had, he would listen.

Graduation and academic excellence is all Jimin has had his eyes fixed on for as long as he can remember. Today, it finally happens. Today, he finally walks the stage and graduates. Today, his goals finally become reality. Or at least, that’s what he thought-until the best friend he thought he knew inside and out shows up in his window while he’s getting ready, and his life is never quite the same.
Alt: Park Jimin and his best friend have one incredible night that changes what they are to each other forever.
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
There it is again- that clattering sound.
That’s at least the fifth time he’s heard it. It’s almost like fingernails tapping against the glass behind him, but that can’t be possible- he’s on the second floor. Every time Jimin looks back at his bedroom window, there’s nothing there.
Not even a pollen drunk honeybee bumping against the glass- nothing. He’s beginning to feel like he’s losing his mind. Turning his attention back to his mirror, he chooses to ignore it this time- he’s finally almost got the knot right in his tie. It’s taken him the better part of twenty minutes to even get this close.
But there it is again.
That sound- the tinkling against the glass.
Before he can stop himself, he’s whipping his head back to look and...there goes the knot. Dang it. Brow furrowed, he frowns down at his tie before giving up completely, sliding it from beneath his collar to chuck it on the floor. Agitated and swearing under his breath, he stomps, disgruntled, toward the accursed window and flings it open.
“For the love of God, what is — Y/n??” Jimin looks positively gobsmacked, because there you are- your palm full of rocks, arm cocked mid-throw as your silky red graduation robes flutter in the breeze.
“There you are! Took you long enough.” You taunt him from the lawn.
“What the heck are you doing here? Graduation’s in less than an hour!” Jimin is a patient man, but this is not remotely the time for shenanigans.
“Don’t you think I know that? Why do you think I’m here?” You roll your eyes, striding across the lawn before hiking up your robe to reveal denim shorts and hoisting yourself up the ivy trellis on the front of the house.
“I don’t know why you’re here! That’s why I’m asking- y/n, what are you doing? My mom just fixed that trellis! You know she hates when you stomp through her garden! Why can’t you just use the front door like a normal person?” Jimin tips his head to the side in frustration, strands of his silky black hair falling into his eyes before he can push them away.
‘Because, Chim, I don’t need to go through the rest of the house when I have a direct route to the person i'm here to see. Now move- let me through.” You dip your head and crouch as Jimin resignedly steps back to give you room to slip through the window.
“You still haven’t told me why you’re here, y/n, or why you couldn’t just call to say whatever it was. We’ve got to get ready to go.” Turning back to his dresser, he begins to hunt for his black bow tie from Prom- maybe he’ll have better luck with that.
“That’s just it, Chim. That’s why I’m here.” You’re still standing resolute in front of the window, dodging as a pair of Jimin’s swim shorts fly past your face in his hunt for his bow tie.
“Do you need a ride to graduation?” His confusion is apparent in his tone as he moves to ransack his closet. “Goddamn it, where is my bow tie?! I don’t have time for thi-
“No, because I’m not going, Chim.” Your voice is so quiet, he almost misses it.
“I know i put it right— wait. You’re what?” His face goes slack as he turns back to face you. “What do you mean?”
Sighing, you cross the room to grip his shoulders. “I mean- I can't do this. I’m not going to graduation today, Jimin.”
“Are you crazy? You have to go!” He searches your eyes for some sign that this is a joke but doesn’t find one.
“No actually- we don’t have to go. It’s optional,” you say softly as Jimin frowns.
“I don’t think that means what you think it means, Y/n.”
“If you’ve completed all your finals and have a high enough GPA, you don’t actually have to walk. Pietro Salazar got strep last year the day before and didn’t attend and still got a diploma,” you shrug.
“Because he had strep! Do you? Are you ill?” He questions as he presses the back of his hand to your forehead. You swat it away and frown at him.
“No, I don’t have a fever! I’m serious.” There’s a grit in your tone that he’s not used to and doesn’t understand.
“Are you sure? Because you’re clearly either mad with fever or just plain lost your mind because this is crazy! You’re being crazy,” he huffs. He doesn’t mean to sound so belligerent- really, he doesn’t- but he doesn’t understand. The clock to graduation is ticking down, and you’re standing in front of him like a lost sheep while he has an aneurysm over the fact that he can maintain a 3.9 GPA but can’t manage to tie a goddamn tie. He loves you, he does, but he just doesn’t have the patience for whatever this is right now. Still, he thinks, She’s your best friend: word it better than that. He sighs and tries again when he realizes his frustration isn’t going to get through to you.
“Y/n, we’ve been looking forward to today for years. You can’t just decide to not go half an hour before-“ he glances at the wall clock behind you as his throat suddenly seizes up.” Oh my god, it’s only half an hour til four?? Y/n, we can talk about whatever alien tried to do a biopsy on your brain later, but we have got to go!” He tries to slip out of your grasp, but your grip around his biceps only tightens.
“I’m serious, Jimin. I’m not going.” You look more resolute than he’s ever seen you before- much too focused, with much too much clarity for a woman who’s clearly lost her mind.
“B-but you’re Valedictorian! I would’ve killed to make valedictorian. You know how hard I tried. Why in the world would you just not show up?” He looks at you like you’ve grown an extra head.
“Because! I’m just not. That’s all there is to it. I’ve got to get out of here, Chim. And I... came to see if you’d come with me.” Your eyes are softer then as you brace for his reaction.
“Come with you?” The words feel strange leaving his mouth.
“Yeah, I took the truck. It’s got a full tank of gas. I’ve got a backpack full of everything we’ll need- I just... need my best friend.” Your eyes meet his, and he realizes you’re serious.
“I - Y/n, what's really going on?” Brows pinched, his dark eyes search your face for a reason you aren’t ready to give him.
“Look, I know today is a big deal for you. I’m not a complete jerk. You know I know that. I just- I need to do this. And if you can’t come, I at least wanted you to hear it from me so-“
“Y/n where are you even gonna go?” He cuts you off. Breaking out of your grip to card his fingers through his hair, he studies you as he waits for your response.
“I don’t know for sure,” you say honestly. Jimin is not amused by how little you’ve prepared for this.
“ Are you leaving- like permanently? Or just like, going to hide out down at the froyo spot?” He frowns, wincing at how caustic his stress is making his tone. You look a bit hurt, and he tries to soften his voice to hide his impending hysteria as the clock ticks behind you.
“Cause if you’re asking me to run away with you indefinitely, I can’t leave my cat behind. You know my mom can’t stand her. Do I need to bring her? Cause if you’re thinking this is long term and I don’t bring her, I won't have a pet to come home to when we come galavanting back from Narnia.” His eyes are far off, detached as he rambles over the semantics of it all. That’s what he does. He’s the thinker. You’re the dreamer. He’s just doing his best to get a grasp on it all.
“What? No, Jimin- Calico’s gonna be fine. I have a couple of ideas- I just... know I need to get out of here, at least for today.” There’s something off. About all of this. This isn’t like you. You don’t do things like this. What is going on with you?
There’s a look in your eyes he’s never seen before. Five years of friendship and somehow there’s a panicked terror in your gaze that’s entirely brand new to him. Except, it’s not. Somehow, it’s strangely familiar. It’s just never been this bad. It makes him wonder…
“Y/n...is it your mom again?” His face is soft with concern and the second he sees your features shift he knows he has his answer. He catches the way your eyes harden, the way you swallow, the way it looks like you’re about to crawl out of your skin. There it is. Dang it. He can’t leave you like this. Not again.
Shaking your head, you plant your feet and try one more time to meet his eyes. Sniffling, you tell him in a voice laced with conviction, “It doesn’t matter. Chim, I’m leaving- are you coming or not?” You palm your keys in your hand as you pin him with a look.
A heavy sigh tumbles from his chest as he realizes what he’s about to do. “I know there’s something more to this that you’re not telling me…” he states calmly as your eyes fall away from his. “But I’m not gonna leave you alone with whatever this is.”
Your face snaps up to his, relief flooding you as you crash into him, embracing him in an excruciatingly tight hug. “Oh my god, thank you.”
He holds you back, arms firm around your waist, and gives himself a minute to realize what he’s committing to. No official cap and gown. No cheesy pictures with his parents. No walking with his classmates to receive the paper declaring that he’s finally, officially an adult. No final milestone of high school.
But there’ll be you….
And as he feels the warmth of you melt against his neck, maybe that’s all he needs.
His mother will probably kill him. No, she’ll definitely kill him. But if today is supposed to signify his transition into adulthood, then maybe it’s time he makes his first real stance in what kind of man he’s going to be.
To make his first proper adult decision.
Figures it would somehow be tied to you.
“All right, all right,” pulling himself out of your grip, Jimin tries to ignore the way your relieved smile and watery eyes tug at something in his chest. He’s never been able to explain his irrational soft spot for you, least of all right now. “If we’re gonna do this, then we’ve gotta go now. Just let me grab a few things,” he sighs.

Warnings: Uhhh Remus being Remus, I think, otherwise... Kidnapping, I suppose and... Attempted murder?
--
Prince Roman had come to face the Serpent, had come to cut the beast's head right off. And he was going to! Becaus he wasn't scared.
At all. Remus was wrong.
Remus was always wrong.
So Roman entered the caves, sword firmly grasped in his hand. When he reached the biggest cavern, he stopped. (It wasn't because he was too afraid to go further, there couldn't be any bigger caves than this one. Surely.)
He drew in a deep breath and yelled, voice barely shaking from anger, not fear: "Serpent! I've come to slay you, foul beast!"
His words echoed along the vast room around him and he felt very small all of a sudden.
He couldn't hear anything but his own echo for a bit, but when that finally died down, his heart sunk into his stomach.
Some kind of... Scratching sound was heard, but also that sound that a body makes, a body that's dragged along rough stone. (He remembered vividly that time Remus had pulled one of their servants' kids on the ground for an entire day. Roman had found it odd and a bit off-putting, but they had seemed to both enjoy themselves, so he had left them to it.)
But there was also the distinct ruffling of fabric and, on rare occasions, a blink of something yellow reflecting what little light there was.
Roman should have brought a torch, he thought, but it was too late now. He gripped his sword tighter, raising the tip against whatever may come from the darkness.
His heart dropped all the way to his feet when the serpent stood to it's full height in front of him.
Whereas before the vastness of the cave had made him feel inferior, now he felt so utterly and incredibly small, he could barely breath. He took a hesitant step back, but no more than one.
Somewhere deep in his brain there was still that thought, that stubbornness, that he wanted to prove he wasn't a coward. It kept his feet rooted to the spot, even as his sword shook with his fear.
The serpent let out an amused chuckle that sent spikes of terror and adrenaline through Roman like fireworks.
The beast shifted again, but it was too fast and the cave too dark for Roman to know what it did.
Not until giant fingers grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled him off the ground with ease.
Faced with a situation like this, some fight bubbled up inside him. He thrashed weakly, quiet pleas and sometimes threats falling from his lips, but nothing he did affected the Serpent.
The fingers only gave him a bit of a shake and the sword, already held in a fumbling, weak grip, clattered to the ground, alongside his crown. The only token still connecting him to his kingdom, tumbling off into the darkness below.
Any and all fight left Roman as the beast flicked it's wrist just so that he was atop it's hand.
It had raised him towards it's face; half of it oddly human, while the other clearly wasn't.
"You've come to slay me?", The creature questioned, one hand dramatically indicating itself. "I'm almost flattered!"
Roman didn't know how to respond, couldn't, even if he had known how to. His voice seemed broken and all that fell from his lips were fragments of sentences never quite formed in his fear-addled mind.
The Serpent hummed and Roman felt his breath catch, felt his heart studder and his adrenaline spike. His mouth clicked shut and he was afraid. So, so afraid.
"Well, assuming you have given up on that, quite frankly, impossible endeavour...", The beast's eyes moved across Roman's comparatively small frame. Took in the details of his hair, left a mess by the crown he'd worn before. Took in the red sash neatly tied across his torso, the white clothing and the obviously expensive brown leather boots. "I think I'll keep you."
Finally, with the last bits of desperation and terror and utter confusion, Roman managed to ask a question. "W- what?!"
Not a long question, but a question nonetheless.
The Serpent chuckled, not answering the Prince's question, not even with one of it's own. Instead, the beast reached out with a finger of it's unoccupied hand and gently stroked Roman's head.
"You're cute."
Not even a repeat of his earlier question made it past his lips this time. All he managed were distressed gurgling sounds that were vaguely worrying, but not enough so that the Serpent noticed.
It slithered off, into the depths of it's domain, carefully clutching a tiny human in it's hand. A human that realized with sinking dread that, no, that cavern hadn't been the biggest one.
Not by a long shot.
--
His steps were soft and inaudible in the damp air of the cave. Instead of a lit torch he carried with him a lamp, not yet housing the flickering light of a flame.
He didn't intend to draw any attention to his presence, not now anyway.
He was here for one purpose and one purpose only; to get his moron of a brother out of trouble. That idiotic twin of his had somehow thought that running of to fight a gigantic Naga was a good idea.
Roman didn't even know the creature's name, for the stars' sake!
Remus stopped in his tracks to stare at the darkness in contemplation. Logan was rubbing off on him.
A giggle escaped him as that thought was accompanied by the most pleasant of visuals his mind could conjure. Oh, how he wished Logan would make more of those delightful screams he seemed to be bursting with!
A joyful skip to his walk, Remus continued down the tunnels. Knowing his brother, Roman hadn't bothered to step out of the main cave into one of the side ones.
And people thought Remus was the dumb twin.
Maybe he was, he mused, as he skipped along and kicked some water up from a nearby puddle. He was following his brother into certain death, after all.
At the mouth of the fourth cavern, Remus stopped. Perhaps to revel in the delicious thought of a cavern-monster that just waited for travellers to step past it's mouth, so it could crunch them with it's rock-column teeth before swallowing them.
Or, perhaps, because he caught sight of something. Of something familiar.
Through the thick darkness he could make out the vague shape of a crown and a sword. While he'd never been quite as good at vision-enhancing magic as his brother, when he fell to his knees next to the items, he knew they belonged to Roman.
He didn't mind the cave's dampness seeping into his pants from the ground, didn't care about the chill digging it's way into his legs, settling into his bones.
He only cared about his brother.
With shaking fingers he reached out, one carefully tracing along the edge of Roman's most priced possession - a katana that had been custom-made just for the prince.
It was sharp as ever, giving Remus a small cut along his fingertip. He didn't care about that either.
He numbly picked up his brother's crown and sword, gathered them into his trembling arms.
"Roman...?", He whispered into the cold, uncaring darkness of the cave-monster's belly.
He received no answer, of course, and he hadn't expected to. Not if he was being entirely honest, and there was rarely a time were Remus was anything but entirely honest.
His legs shook when he stood, they didn't shake anymore when he stepped out of the cave.
Warm sunlight chased the cave's chill right out of him, but there was something deeper, darker it could not even reach. Something that had settled into Remus' soul the moment he'd pieced together that he would actually not see his brother again.
Logan sat not too far from the entrance to the tunnels, a book propped up on his lap. Remus would have found the sight endearing, had he not been carrying the last remains of his brother.
The royal advisor looked up when he heard Remus' steps. With quick movements the book was packed up and Logan was on his feet, approaching the dour looking Duke.
"Is Prince Roman--"
"Dead.", Remus said, not caring that he had cut the other off. He stared down at the items in his arms. In the daylight it became even clearer that these were Roman's.
That tiny scratch in the metal right beneath the third crystal, the one Remus had made and always refused to answer Roman about. The small chunk of metal that had come off when Roman had fallen out of that tree in the courtyard, the one that looked a bit like a hunching figure.
The crystal that looked just a bit too smooth, a bit too round, a bit too different from the others.
"He's dead.", He repeated, as if needing to clarify. "Roman is dead! Killed by a snake or a cave or maybe a fallen rock!"
Remus clutched the crown and sword tighter.
A hysteric laugh bubbled forth from the prince at that.
"Could you imagine that, Logan?! The great prince Roman crushed into tiny little pieces of flesh and meat and bone and skin and brain, all scattered underneath a rock?! Inside a cave? Never to be seen again?!"
He laughed more, he felt light-headed, tears were falling from his eyes. "Buried under tons and tons of earth, never able to get a proper burial pyre!"
Logan placed a calming hand on Remus' shoulder and the Prince's laughter ceased. There was only pain in his eyes, not a trace of mirth as he looked into Logan's eyes.
"That thing killed my brother, Logan.", He mumbled, arms tightening around the sword and the crown once more, not caring that the blade cut into his arm.
"I'm going to get my revenge. I'm going to kill it, too, Logan. I'm going to cut it up into tiny little itsy-bitsy pieces while it is still alive, to hear it scream and cry and yell and beg in agony for it's worthless life, but I will not spare it. I will never spare it. Do you understand, Logan?"
The royal advisor could only nod, already he was forming plans in his head on how to best help the prince. The only prince, now.
Remus gave a mirthless smile and walked past Logan into the forest, soon disappearing from the cave's field of vision.
He left only a small trail of blood behind.

These Dreams (Sanny) 2/3
Part 1:
Guys this is pure (gay) smut ok So be warned
-----------
"So... who was it? Do I know them?"
Of fucking course Sam knew 'them', they both knew that. He could drag it out a little more, though, get something out of this experience.
"Yeah, you do. I couldn't look at them for a few days after. Or, like, every time I did I just thought about it and I couldn't stop. I was so horny and so scared that week, it was hell. I wanted so bad to just go up and kiss them, but I couldn't."
Sam looked him in the eye, spoke slowly. "I think you could. Should. No one in their right mind would reject you, just go for it."
This was the best invitation he was ever going to get, so Danny did just go for it. He landed a little more on Sam's cheek than he planned; he guessed Sam was anticipating it and moved, too.
They smiled and tried again, this time turning their heads until a little click went off in their brains, like a medicine bottle, telling them they were in a good spot. At this angle, Danny could feel a piece of Sam's hair free from it's bun tickling his forehead. Their noses were right next to each other, breathing in long, slow drags of air as they finally explored.
Sam kissed like he played, Danny found out. He was solid and steadily pushing for more, but not aggressive, strong and confident, carrying the body of their music on his rolling notes. It was warm, heady, they fit together like they always had, if they just looked to each other.
Danny let Sam lead, just enjoyed the comfort of finally, finally after all these years, kissing his best friend. He rubbed, back and forth, his lips against Sam's bottom one, feeling the tiny bit of scruff he was oh so proud of rub against his own chin.
The difference was what he had dreamed of. He could discern Sam's hands, large and bony, moving up his arms towards his shoulders. The facial hair, the Sammy smell, his delicate features and strong jaw were smudged right up against him.
Danny pressed their heads together at the temples, disconnecting their lips. He huffed out a ragged breath, lips brushing not pressing against Sam's.
"Mmm... always knew you were a good kisser."
Danny smiled, shy, pleased, ecstatic and the slight bit of apprehension gone fron his stomach now that he was settled in Sam's arms.
"Yeah, you too. Thought about it, for ages," he admitted, no longer playing the avoidance card. This was happening.
"Knew it..." Sam muttered into their kiss, already back for more now that Danny was right in front of him.
"You know everything, Sama...." Danny replied, half minded, dedicated to giving Sam anything he wanted to take.
Danny rolled onto his back when Sam rocked forward; pounced really, lunged at him with his mouth and his pelvis and his long legs wrapping around Danny, moving him where he wanted.
Sam settled himself over his best friend, reaping the benefits of his verbal interrogation. He ground downwards, squeezed his legs around Danny, kissed at his neck.
Shuddering above him and groaning sweeter than anything he'd ever heard, Danny let Sam work over him. He closed his, eyes, thrusting upwards into the intensely heated space between their hips, hands gripping Sam's butt cheeks to pull him down.
They writhed on the bed, diagonally with their feet hanging off the end and Danny's head in danger of banging into the side table if Sam made him shake enough, which he very well might. Danny was amazed at how good this felt, how much better than his dream this was.
Sam stuck his tongue in Danny's mouth, his hips grinding endlessly down as he drove them straight towards the cliff of orgasm.
"Tell me..." Sammy panted against his ear, blown eyes shining with lust and a fair sprinkling of love, "Who did you dream about, Danny? What did he do to you?"
"This! You! I've thought about you, Sammy, for so long. Came in my shorts from you riding me, grinding, holding me down just like this. Want to really feel it this time."
"You will," Sam said, nearly growled. He kept his hips low but raised his chest high, pushing down on Danny's shoulders.
"Gonna make you come, make all your dreams come true. Your mine!"
Danny keened, higher than he'd like to admit at the back of his throat. His toes clenched in air where their feet were hanging off the side if the bed, thighs shaking and hips helplessly churning upwards against Sam, never stopping.
Sam looked down at him, a crazed, gleeful smile on his face. He kept moving, working the cum out of Danny and spreading it around in his pants with his pumping hips. His hands pressed down harder, pushing Danny to the mattress, making him arch up to keep their bodies connected despite the oversensitivity making him quake.
Danny could tell Sam was nearly there, would tumble over the brink with any little addition to their equation but it was up to him to decide what. He went with putting on a show, knowing Sam had a tiny bit of a voyerestic streak. Or, at least, he'd always loved watching Danny.
Sam came to the sight of Danny's long lashes fluttering, his plush mouth sighing his name, large hands holding Sam to his semi erect dick. Arms pushing him up, Sam shuddered over Danny and then hung there, suspended only by bones locked in place. He hung his head, panting, hair falling sideways as the bun came loose and grinning bigger than ever.

angelicaesthetix:
gaugedlife:
Snagged from his flight, the elf coughed some form of a yelp out before he’d been dragged back down to terra firma. The claws were indeed felt, but hardly acknowledged as the more pressing matter were Dom’s entire posture and demeanor. He looked to be in a down right horrendous state that would keep your worst nightmares looking over their shoulders for a week.
Yet still, the elf did was elves do best- or at least those who catch a very cursory glance to their master’s discarded arms- Get a little shell shocked. It was obvious the levels of complicated processes that were being ran in his head, everything being soaked in a sense of finality and raw terror.
There really was nothing he could do.
“Why are you doing this?” Gage’s tone was something betraying to his demeanor. It was soft, shaky and the exact opposite of how he’d been choosing to respond to everything around him. He elf clenched his jaw as he tried to maintain eye contact with Dom, showing the smallest amount of fear in his deep eyes. It was a burning question on his mind. He couldn’t understand. Simply enough, the virus didn’t allow him the mercy of figuring out why these people wanted him so badly. To insinuate these faces- these people were anything more than hostiles was too much leeway for him.
Once the initial shock faded, Gage, of course, pushed away trying to get out of Dom’s grips to the best of his ability. Honestly, when it came to pushing power, there were babies with more strength that him. At best the force he exerted could be compared to that of a kitten. It wasn’t like when he was punching by funneling all his energy into one shots…
Punching.
Later. The virus replied.
Weil was in too much of a compromised position to be playing his cards fast and wild anymore. While he had a modicum of hope prior that this could be solved in any orderly fashion, this all but snuffed out that glimmer of hope. How to accept defeat willingly was a whole new thing seeing as how he wanted to but something inside wouldn’t allow him to stand down.
Can he even just switch gears from struggling to accepting the hand of fate?
There wasn’t so much a sensation behind the abrupt removal as much as there was the annoying interruption of his suit telling him that it had been compromised even more than it had been prior. He wasn’t a reploid–warnings didn’t flash in front of his eyes–it was more… A mental intrusion. An update fed into his brain. It was akin to how he knew that, without prompt repair, his life support systems would gradually shut down in approximately eight hours, although that timer was decreasing smoothly as it calculated a newer estimate.
With the separation, there had also been a distinct crack–or a pop. His original body had been integrated into the suit he was trapped within. While the lower half had been completely removed, his original arms had still been present and accounted for–just extremely decayed to naught but century-old dusted skin-particles and bone, the nanite soup only concerned with his head and brain. At least there wasn’t any blood, but the oil was just as red.
Weil tightened the fingers at the end of his remaining arm into a fist. “You will regret that.” He mightn’t be able to do anything currently, but no one knew what the future held.
Copy got as far as the elf–which is to say, he didn’t get very far at all before being brought back down by way too many freakish abominations, in his unhumble opinion. This wasn’t even less than ideal, this was a straight-up disaster, and as much as he wanted to fight and struggle he decided it was probably in his best interests not to. Even by just one-third of the crowd he was more than outnumbered.
Throughout that, he hadn’t noticed the appearance of the disembodied arm, or whether or not his ’ally’ had successfully gotten away. He was much more preoccupied with his new predicament, but that was par for the course.
X had heard the pop, but decided in that moment that he cared very little. Instead, he hummed in thought, considering Weil's threat before nodding. "I imagine I'll regret that later, yes. Then again, what's one more?"
"Besides, maybe now when you think of me, it won't primarily be over a damaged table, hmm?" Ok, yeah, he was still salty over that, even if it was entirely his own fault. "That arm, as proof of intent, should be enough to force Gage's cooperation. He's been informed that the next thing I'm ripping out are your vital organs, or any relevant equivalents." X sighed, a little dreamily. "Now that would be fun."
Dom mutually locked eyes with Gage, searching for the vicious punchline that had to be lying in wait.
'Why?'
When Gage started squirming, Dom caught the elf's wrists deftly before pinning them down against the sand.
About halfway between the pair and the rock formation, a new portal opened up and closed just as quickly, only allowing a single person through. Said person jogged closer, something shaped vaguely like a rifle strapped to their back.
Dom wracked his brain- still fighting off the reploid equivalent of shock, mind you- trying to understand Gage's question. 'Why?'
Fuck, Gage must be really out of it right now.
After a few deep breaths, Dom only managed a sad, wheezing chuckle, failing to fight back the tears any longer.
Countless bruises were still forming, and they littered Dom's visible skin. His jacket was torn in places, and the sand around them had been worked liberally into his dark hair during the tumble. His ribs and the back of his skull still gave off a full ache, and were he human, the sheer stress would have made Dom puke.
"Of course we're- we couldn't leave you behind. Not when you're like... this."
Dom just blinked down at the large elf, a thought blooming across his mind, sending his stomach dropping past his knees. "Gage, what's my name?"
Would Weil have- actually, yes, he would have. The man was dasdardly enough to shreds Gage's memory to absolute oblivion. But... did he?
As Wendel approached, he gave 'Copy' a cursory glance. While he'd never personally had to deal with met the Tyrant, it was obvious that the guy wasn't going anywhere.
What was a relief, however, was that the ground troops seemed to remember the plan of not murdering the brat, no matter how much even Dad wanted to.
Heck, as long as he didn't go about trying to shoot any of his new 'buddies', the selfish prick should survive this whole ordeal with minimal scratches in the paint of that glitzy armor suit.
Wendel kneeled next to his brother, giving a soft chitter in greeting, and only getting a sluggish one in return a few long breaths later.
Wendel paled. Not good.
