DP Prompt: Envy & Devastation Part 1

It isn't fair!

After everything he has done. After saving the whole town. Making sure they all returned back to the living world. That they were safe.

He got left behind...

That Crown had trapped him. Right by Conquest, they say. Making him the heir to the throne. Forcing him to remain in the Infinite Realms until his coronation. Until he was truly King, and bound by customs and responsibilities he doesn't care for.

When he tried to call out for help, to his friends and family beyond the portal. (All secrets be damned) Asking for them to search for a way out, anything that could free him. For a while they looked, but nothing was found, nothing could help him.

So, they thought, if Danny cannot come to us then we would go to him! They would visit him in his glorified prison, Phantom's Keep. For a period of time, they would visit him everyday, and he could almost pretend that nothing had changed. That he wasn't a soon-to-be king and that everyone that he loved lived across a whole other dimension.

Yet, everyday turned into every few a week, then once a week... then month.. year...

At this point he doesn't even remember the last time they came to see him...

Then finally Finally, he was King. He could leave the realms the moment he had a break in his schedule. When that moment came, he raced away, moving faster than he ever has and ripped a portal open when even that was taking too long. Opening up and exiting into Amity Park once again.

And not only did he keep snacks on himself before you guys started dating but even more so now. He is such a sweetheart who will never allow you to go hungry.

Honestly, he's hypocritical in that he'll start going on a diet but the minute that you say that you need to go on a diet - the gates of hell break loose in your home. Completely outraged that you won't eat at least a bite of what he's offering you. Pouts and acts like you just told him that you want to break up or something worse. The type to say, "FINE THEN I'LL EAT IT MYSELF", then proceeds to give you the nastiest stare-down of your life as he takes a bite. (If you don't concede to his little charade quick enough this WILL become a silent treatment game)

Vernon Sends pictures of himself

Lowkey, you become a photo storage for this man. Sends a photo to you every single time he thinks of you, which is a lot more often than one might think. Is constantly sending you pics of random things he's found and can't send to anyone else. The one constant is his damn face that never changes in any of the pics despite the angle changes. It's gotten to the point where you've had to ask how he does it but he just shrugs.

Every question you ask is answered in either a meme or a photo of him looking like his regular deadpan self, no words either and if you ask for clarification he just sends another photo of him looking confused as hell.

This really is his own special brand of clinginess. You'll hear a message notification from him, open it, and it's his face at the most unflattering angle... He's literally lying on your stomach right at this moment. No explanation, even if you ask he doesn't give one.

Dino Assumes you're following him everywhere

The opposite of Wonwoo's habit lol. Dino sees absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be by his side at all times. You're his number one comfort, so why wouldn't you be with him 24/7? Weird that you would even think he'd let you leave. He has a spider sense for when you're moving too far away from him and he will immediately grab and bring you towards him.

More than the physical though, this dude will not allow you to be by yourself. If he's going on tour, congrats! You are also going on tour! There's a company trip? Great! You're a part of the company now. It may even get to the point of him downright refusing to go places if he knows there won't be space for you.

"I need to go outside and get some fresh air." "Okay, babe." "I said...I need to go outside and get some fresh air." "Alright, hun, I'll be right here." *Genuinely tweaking out at this point, gets up, and grabs your hand. Dragging you with him.* "You could've just asked me to follow you." *Leaning his head on your shoulder, still slightly upset* "You're supposed to know! I need you near me whenever possible."

Most Disliked Robin Results!!

at long last, (some of) the data you've all been waiting for.

for those of you who are new, i put out a questionnaire to gather data in the interest of discovering if my personal hypothesis that knowing someone's #1 Robin tells you nothing really, but knowing their top two, now that gives you insight. i have since closed that questionnaire, and we are in the data crunching stage. in this anon ask, anon was curious which Robin was getting the most dislike votes. i shared the current numbers w/o revealing who was getting which votes, and invited y'all to vote for which Robin you thought was getting the most dislike votes.

these were the results of the prediction poll:

before i share the final results, with 745 responses, a disclaimer:

the data pool is extremely small in the grand scheme of things!! this data cannot be used to make definitive claims about fandom at large. this is simply what we observed from the small group of fans, predominantly from tumblr, who filled out my questionnaire. cool? cool.

for our purposes, a "Stan" is someone who marked X Robin as their #1 fave Robin, and a "Fan" is someone who marked X Robin in their top two. additionally, whenever you see a top two Duo, for example, Dick & Damian, the character mentioned first is that person's #1. so Dick & Damian duos are distinct from Damian & Dick duos!!

for the non-math nerds, the 95% CI*, or 95% Confidence Interval is there to show that if we were to poll a random 745 responders again, from the same communities, we're about 95% sure the true value is somewhere in here range. *this is a bit of a simplification, but uh, i am not a math teacher + google is free. (i thought about finding a snappy youtube vid but as soon as they started talking math i zoned out whoops.)

finally a big, big thank you to @chinajousama and @tevyaa for their data-crunching + formatting!! none of this would have happened nearly as quickly (or successfully) without them!! 🫶

the most important takeaway here, imo, is that ~74% do not dislike any Robin. (shoutout to the Jason & Steph Duo who disliked Dick, Tim, and Damian tho, iconic.)

also, it is not at all what tumblr predicted!! tumblr predicted that dick would be least disliked (by virtue of him getting the least votes) and that's...about all that was correct from the prediction poll.

now how does this breakdown depending on Stans/Fans/Duos?

Stans' dislike (Y is responders #1 Robin)

"hey!!" you say, "the math is not mathing- if i add up the bottom row i get 774/104%, not 745/100%." correct!! this is because responders were able to dislike more than one Robin.

if we gave the percentages for each row of the very first chart, (the one that lays out how people voted in all the permutations), those percents would add up to 100%. but since we're only breaking it down between the Robins, there's overlap. 14.8% of everyone disliked Tim, that number is true. however, that 14.8% of Tim Dislikers includes people who also disliked other Robins- it's not the percentage of people who exclusively dislike Tim.

tl;dr: it doesn't add up, but the math is right, trust.

"okay, fine, but why don't you have a 95% CI for everyone?" if the sample group was too small to make a prediction (received less than 5 responses), we decided not to give one because there's simply not enough data to give one worth having. tl;dr, if there's a 0.00%* in the 95% CI chart, don't read into those stats too hard!!

already you can see some differences compared to the Stans' Dislikes- most percentages go up a bit, but a few go down.

now let's see what happens when we look at the breakdown over Duo's Dislike

note the differences!! for instance, all Jason-first Duos are more likely to dislike Tim than the percentage given for Jason Stans, except for Jason & Tim duos, which duh, but also, Jason & Tim is the second most common Jason-first Duo, making up 25.3% of Jason-first Duos.

also!! Tim fans are the least likely to dislike overall, with 83.2% not disliking any Robin, however, Tim stans, specifically Tim & Dick Duos are the most likely to dislike Damian. (*cough* lingering Red Robin grudge, perhaps? *cough* Tim Stans: i can let a lot of shit go, but that. that i cannot. [i'm a Tim Stan, i'm allowed to tease them, okay?])

another crucial thing to point out here is that the percentages represent how likely Y Duo is to dislike X Robin. this distinction is significant because while it is correct to say that, (based off this data pool), Steph & Damian Duos are the most likely to dislike Tim, it is incorrect to say that most Tim dislikers are Steph & Damian Duos.

something, something squares and rectangles If you grab a random Steph & Damian Duo responder, they are the most likely out of all the Duo responders to dislike Tim. However, if you were to grab a random Tim Disliker responder, the odds of that responder being a Steph & Damian Duo are pretty low.

by number, Dick & Damian Duos make up the biggest portion of Tim Dislikers (26 out of 110 votes). however, they also make up the biggest portion of responders overall with 92 votes, whereas Steph & Damian only got 22.

(side note, if you're like, whoa but Dick & Jason won the tumblr poll- overall, there were more responders that had Dick and Jason in their top 2, however they were split 82/64 and Dick and Damian was split 92/29. those splits are also super interesting to see, bc some are pretty even and others aren't.)

okay, so what's the takeaway here? repeat after me: everybody 👏hates 👏 Tim!! 👏 loud incorrect buzzer yeah, no so the main takeaway here is that so far, it's looking like there is visible variation depending on a Stan/Fan's Duo compared to Stan/Fan opinion. also, that most Robin fans don't dislike a Robin. you can relax, odds are blorbo is not under attack. unless you're a Tim stan. jk jk, i'm sorry, him having 14.8% dislikability is just hysterical to me, like do you see the social distancing, Jason is the second most disliked and Tim has more than double his numbers LMAO.

especially bc that 14.8% is just like, out of all responders, how likely Tim is to be disliked, right, follow me here, hehe. 110 of 223 dislike votes cast were for Tim, right, so of the dislike votes cast there is a ~49.3% chance that a dislike vote is a dislike Tim vote.

but!! if we condense that 223 (dislike votes cast/remember that 1 responder could dislike multiple) to 194 (the actual number of responders who disliked), then it's 110 out of 194, so if a Robin fan dislikes anyone, there is a ~56.7% that they dislike Tim.

try not to laugh at that, i dare you.

now, as a Tim stan, i think this makes sense because out of all the Robins, Tim has the most on panel interaction with every other Robin compared to the others, so like, if any Robin is going to show up and annoy you, odds are it's Timbo. factor in fanfic trends and uh...look, do i love Tim? yes. i made a fakemon design prompter, and immediately rolled a single-type, no evolution, no special features normal type pokemon

so to kick it off and try to make myself feel better about rolling Basic Bitch(tm) right off the bat, here's Impossumble (based off of Australian possums n not oppossums dont @ me)

I've written the prompt generator steps below, in case it's not clear on your screens/for screenreaders. If you use the prompt generator, please tag me in it! I'd love to see what you come up with

#1 Special Features - d20

1-10 = Nil, go to #2 11-14 = Gender Variants, go to #2 15-18 = Starter Trio, go to #3 19 = Single evo/form legendary, go to #3 20 = Double evo/form legendary. Roll d2 or flip a coin to determine. 1/heads = multiple evolution, 2/tails = multiple forms.

#2 Evolutions - d8

1-3 = no evolutions 4-5 = 1 evolution 6-7 = 2 evolutions 8 = diverging evolutions. Roll additional d4 to determine how evolutions split. On a 1, pokemon splits at first evolution(i.e. snorunt, wurmple, etc). On a 2, pokemon has an unbalanced evolution tree (i.e. Salandit, which only evolves if female, or Applin, which can evolve into three different forms, but only Dipplin evolves a second time). On a 3, pokemon evolves twice, with the split occurring on the third form (i.e. Ralts > Kirlia > Gardevoir OR Gallade). On a 4, pokemon evolves once, but with many variants (i.e. eevee). Roll a d6 to determine number of variants (minimum 3).

Flip a coin/roll a d2 to determine single or dual typing (heads/1 = single type, tails/2 = dual types). For diverging evolutions with dual typing, primary type should usually be the same as the first evolution, however secondary type should be rolled separately for each diverged evolution. For diverging type pokemon with single typing, feel free to roll for each evolution.

I hear a lot about how fatness is a "risk factor" for certain illnesses and diseases. I don't hear much about how so are age, socioeconomic status, experiences of abuse, starvation, sex, race, queerness, and so many other aspects of a person's life. And that's because the world already for the most part accepts that a lot of these factors cannot be changed and that many of these factors are not what actually causes an illness or disease.

You don't develop a medical condition because your bank account suddenly shows a different, smaller number. You developed that medical condition because poverty means unbearable stress every day, less access to healthcare, worse housing, inability to clothe yourself for protection from the elements, having to overwork yourself to be able to afford your basic necessities, going without food, and so many other aspects of oppression. You don't weigh your wallet to measure your health because the amount of money you have is not what actually causes a medical condition.

But no one wants to look at the studies with legitimate methodology and admit that fatness is also in this category—that fatness is not something that we can just choose and will away, that fat people face immense systemic oppression just like any other oppressed group, that the correlation of fatness and illness is not some simple relationship of causation. And that's because doing so would mean no longer making hundreds of billions of dollars off of fat people's oppression and having to admit it's not actually okay to treat fat people as an acceptable punching bag.

When I look at medical information for whatever illnesses, see the risk factors laid out, and the only risk factor the website says to change is fatness? I think about all of the research I've read that shows actual permanent weight loss is as likely as finding Atlantis. The amount of hypocrisy at not telling someone to drink a youth potion as a form of treatment at the same time as they lose weight becomes so palpable that I can taste the dirty money being made off of this website telling people to "just lose weight, fatty." It's as cruel as selling an ill person a random crystal that you tell them will fix their health, which they then rely on instead of actual medical care, causing them to get worse and even die. And if you think that comparison is a stretch, you do not realize how many people die every day because they were told weight loss was the answer or were forced to lose weight before the doctor would actually respect them enough to run tests or so much as touch their fat body.

We live in a world where people with PCOS are told to "just lose weight" to solve their infertility, where that is the very first bullet point listed on a website about a medical condition that makes weight loss even more impossible than the already 95% failure rate for the general population. A world where fat people have to stick their own fat bodies with needles during a doctor's appointment because the doctor is too disgusted by fat rolls to even look at the person's body to give them a shot. A world where fat people with eating disorders are encouraged, applauded, and told to keep going while the thin person with an eating disorder has the "luxury" of receiving help, compassion, and a diagnosis that isn't separated in the DSM with the word "atypical." A world where a fat person accidentally given chemotherapy is told by the doctor "At least it helped you lose weight!" A world where weight loss corporations are making the exact same promises they did in advertisements from 1910, yet somehow over 100 years later we have an "ob*sity epidemic" because diets, weight loss products, and exercise regimens "Really work!!!"

If this single "solution" to ill health has not worked despite well over a century of desperate, constant attempts, maybe we should stop trying to jam a triangle into a square hole.

im not an artist but i did do a personal finance course in high school where we learned about the living wage. here are some rules:

PLEASE DO NOT GO ONTO LIKE, R/FURRYCATWALK OR SOMETHING AND ASK HOW MUCH PEOPLE WOULD PAY. the amount that people would pay is highly dependent on their personal financial situation. also many people just truly do not understand what an actual fair price looks like because we are all underpaid and money is kind of hard to work with.

search "[country] living wage". if youre in the states you can use this calculator by the massachussets institute of technology. it's current as of feb 2024 (which is very recent, financially speaking) and it goes into SIGNIFICANT detail.

(sidenote: if youre in the uk, make sure youre looking at the living wage foundation. the government changed the official name of the minimum wage to "national living wage" to throw people off, but it's not the real living wage.)

time yourself making your artwork. let's say it takes you 5 hours. let's also say youre a single adult with no dependents living in bradley county of arkansas, for a random example.

THE CALCULATION: [living wage per hour] * [hours worked]

this calculation is the ONLY way to guarantee that youre actually getting paid a living wage. in our example it comes out to $92.70

you are probably thinking "woah that's way too high!" and i really want to get it into your head that if you get paid even a cent less than that you are not making enough money to live. and that's the wage for someone working 40 hours a week, living in bradley county of arkansas, which is probably not how much you will spend on commissions per week and also probably not where you live. it may be higher (or lower) depending on your location.

more stuff under the cut about stuff like backgrounds and material costs and stuff, but that calculation up there is the absolute minimum you should be getting paid.

THE RULE OF FIVES

decimals, and non-round numbers, are a kind of ugly thing to put on a commission sheet, so we want to decimate the decimals. there are two rules:

always round up

rounding to multiples of five makes your numbers look good

in our example case, the nearest multiple of five that we can round up to is $95. so this is how we will price it.

PERCENTAGES ARE REALLY COOL

generally when we talk about commissions on this site, we mean specifically digital art commissions. in that case, theres a lot to consider: extra characters, very detailed designs, backgrounds, extra features like .. idfk glowy anime effects or a semi-detailed border around the image with like vines and deer and skulls and shit. cool as hell.

it's kind of hard to put a flat rate on these things! flat rates are nice because they let us work out how many hours we worked, and how much we should get paid in proportion. but maybe an extra character doesn't actually add that much to the amount of work you do, or some borders are very complex but some aren't, so you can't really put a single round price on it.

that's why we love percentages! percentages increase the price in proportion to the cost of the original commission. let's say our $95 commission is a piece of fully rendered digital artwork, and that we also offer lineart. the lineart takes us, say, 2 hours, so 18.54 * 2 = 37.08, rounded to the nearest multiple of 5 is $40.

if we were to make the complex background price $30, that's only about 1/3 increase on the full render. but it's almost 1/2 on the lineart. this is another good rule: most people find it easy to figure out halves, so you don't want to work with them. (this is because you'll have people be like "the complex background is like 1/2 the commission price?!")

instead, we'll use a percentage of 20%. to calculate a percentage, divide the percentage by 100 (so in our case, 20% becomes 0.20), add 1 (so we have 1.20), and then multiply by the original commission price. we use 1.20 because multiplying by 0.20 would give us only 20%, whereas 1.20 gives us 20% added to the original price.

40 * 1.20 = 48. very nice, only $8. (you could increase that, tbh.)

95 * 1.20 = 114, which we'll round up to 115, making the background cost $20. which is completely fair!

MATERIALS COST MONEY TOO

in terms of digital artwork there's not really many materials to get money back on. but if you're making something physical - a painting, or you're knitting, or making music - you'll need to purchase materials.

the material cost is: (how much you paid for the materials) + (how much you paid to get them to you - this would include things like shipping if you bought them online, or perhaps just a flat amount in terms of gas or public transport costs) * 1.25 or 1.5.

so, if our commissions were physical painting, let's say we needed to stock up on 3 paints, costing us $100. one of those paints was purchased online and the shipping cost $11, and two of those paints were purchased in person. you should price gas costs based on your local gas prices, but let's just say that $5 is reasonable. so, the material cost is $116 * 1.25, bringing us up to $145 for materials.

"wait, but that means a fully rendered, complex background, plus materials, would cost $260!"

well yeah. art is severely undervalued and materials can cost a lot. i'm probably lowballing material costs for things like knitted or crocheted works. if you don't multiply the material cost by something (in the example used its 25%) you're going to be potentially losing money on materials.

GET PAID UPFRONT

i don't have more to say on this. for larger commissions, or for things that naturally take a while like knitting or crochet, you definitely want to get paid upfront. if you have a material cost you should use that as your upfront cost because once the materials are purchased it can be very hard to get refunds, so even if your person needs to back out for completely legit reasons, you're not losing money on a lost commission and potentially buying material you would never use for a personal project.

in terms of art without material costs (especially digital art) you should use an upfront cost because there are a significant amount of scammers. don't move forward with the commission until you have the upfront cost. hound them for it. make it clear that without the upfront cost they would be effectively stealing from you.

MISC

let's go back to our figure from earlier, $92.70. i said that that was the lowest our example person could price their commissions in order to get paid a living wage. you should also include material prices in that figure. but what that means is that, theoretically, you can cut off any of these prices. you can choose not to multiply the material cost, you can lower the percentage values on additional features. if you get faster at your work you might be able to lower your commission prices. as long as it doesn't go below that figure that we calculated at the start, you're still getting paid a living wage.

a lot of pricing is based on vibes. these rules are what i consider to be a fair way to price your work. it prices it in a way that takes into account the money you lose, and also gives you a little extra money because we live in a capitalist hellscape where more money means more living. you can choose not to price your stuff this way. i just really, really don't want to see more of my mutuals-in-law on my dash asking if their $14 full render complex background commissions are too cheap.

With 59% of the votes in the final round, Gethan is also one of the relationships with the fewest number of episodes (4!) across Buffy and Angel. Among the top three, it's also the shortest relationship with the youngest members! The ship dominated its run to the finals, only slipping below 60% during the final match-up.

In second and third place are Dangel and Spangel, respectively. Spangel lost to Gethan in the semi-finals, then fought their way through the losers' bracket with two more wins to take third.

Angel is the only individual to have multiple relationships in the top 3. Spike came close, with Sprusilla in fourth place.

Sprusilla had the longest run in the losers' bracket; after being knocked out by Dangel in round one, they survived all the way to the losers' bracket semi-finals (top 4!). This also makes three of the top 4 a Fanged Four couple.

In addition to the top 3, five other couples made it farther in the rounds than Hank x Joyce, the only canonically divorced couple on the shows. These were:

Gethan had the most resounding victory in the tournament, beating Frunn with 95% of the votes. The closest matches were Weslah vs Hank x Joyce and Willoz vs Spuffy, both with results split ~51:49.

Besides Buffy, Spike, and Angel, the only characters with multiple relationships in the tournament were Willow, Xander, and Wesley. Of these three, Xander's relationships made it furthest in the tournament (both went further than Hank x Joyce), followed by Wesley, then Willow.

The only Angel ship that failed to make it out of the first round is Bangel.

Although Buffy had four ships (out of 16 participants) in the tournament, the only one that made it past the second round is Fuffy.

Fuffy is also the only f/f ship (of two) that made it out of the first round, but made it all the way to the top 6.

There were three m/m ships among the original 16 participants, making up just 19% of the represented couples. By the finals, they made up 67%(!) of the top 3.

So I've started rewriting my cheat object from the ground up. It's now a single tile wall object.

Features: -Automatic Trait Randomizer: Includes support for my new traits. Couple new BCON tunable options. Adds ability for Elders to receive extra trait(s) as well as University graduates. Graduates can be checked for honors or highest honors.

By default I've got the extra elder trait turned on, as well as the graduate trait, and it requires honors. I've got the scrapped traits set to appear in the randomizer, but not the hidden traits. The setting for that also excludes them from being counted towards the trait limit, so sims with the Burglar trait can still receive a normal number of regular traits. If you change the setting to add them to the trait pool hidden traits will count towards the limit.

Inheritance I think is fixed. I'm like 95% sure. Please let me know if it's not, and I've got it set at a 25% chance for children to inherit a parents trait.

By default Aspiration and Age checks are turned off, and dialogues are on.

I usually see posts on weibo including Yibo, a comparison with people his age or like the 95+ group in terms of fan engagement and likes on certain posts. Why WYB seem to not be the leading in numbers on that area. The easy ( and somewhat harsh maybe ) explanation would be — all these people have are likes and online engagement but no actual talent or award nominations/wins to be called an actor. being a celebrity is what they are. a celebrity actor if you will. an idol actor. there is nothing wrong with that. a lot of c-ent personalities go this route, even wyb started as an “idol actor” but the difference is, he is not contented in staying that way.

I also read a post that went like this:

It would be strange if fans don’t leave. He is famously not fond of business, and his account number is equal to that of an advertising blogger. There is almost no fan interaction, he only has fans who love him for years and this is not enough to last forever. Now that he is filming a movie, he will disappear easily. He used to send WB frequently. In a few selfies, his face was even covered up.

Then it goes on to say how this is basically not sustainable and fans will want something in return to stay.

Right from the get go, the person who posted this already answered their own “question”: He is famously not fond of business. Meaning, WYB is already known to keep a clear line between him and fans. He appreciates his fans and those who support his work ( clear example is his interactions during movie roadshows ) but most of those going into the fandom already know that about him. A lot of us are even attracted to him because of it.

Not to mention he has challenges with security, even if he always has 1 or 2 bodyguards always with him. He still gets trackers placed in his car, stalker harassing him on the plane, people touching him etc and you all wonder why he isn’t enthusiastic about sharing personal things 👁️👄👁️

This obsession of wanting to know everything about someone and needing celebrities to share their life like some influencer is gonna get old real soon. It’s actually what’s not sustainable — especially if you want to be a serious actor loved by the general public. You can’t share too much. You have to keep a certain mystery. What people should focus on is the movie and your acting, and not your personal life. Yibo understands that. The shift is so obvious and I get it if some fans don’t agree, but I love it. I have always been vocal with my support in Yibo’s acting career track. I miss random douyin posts and other things but I understand that keeping that limited is better for him. If that’s what gives him some sense of peace and privacy, then I’m okay with that. Plus there is a thing called over exposure — so yeah. Being on hot search daily isn’t a good thing like people make it out to be. If being on HS @ weibo is all a fandom and a celebrity aims for, then go ahead. Yibo is not the same. I’m not even gonna talk about how many of those fan engagement are real and not a water army.

Anyway, he really has to do things differently if he wants better results ( be nominated and win legitimate acting awards, not hand outs ) in his career. If he just goes with the blueprint, then he will end up in the same way as other c-ent celebrities. Bloggers who post stuff like what I shared don’t get it. Yibo is an anomaly in the industry. People fear and reject things they don’t understand. They can’t figure him out, he keeps on going against the trend. As a fan, that’s what is exciting. Yibo is making a path of his own and i’m here for it. ✌🏼
