         “Oh, I’m sure it is,” Ekko said without looking up from the test he was checking.  He marked the score in red at the top of the page and moved it over to the stack on his left with all the other graded ones.  “I’m sure it’s obvious that anyone with eyes has a thing for Ahri.”

         Ahri was one of the most popular girls in school, and he thought it would be more surprising for her to hear someone didn’t have a crush on her.  Ekko was just one name in a very, very long list of people who found themselves intrigued by the kitsune.  And he was certain she knew of his interest and merely tolerated it as they both came to a silent agreement to never ever speak of it.

         He then turned to Draven and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose.  “And you’re right, I won’t, since it would be a huge waste of time.”  Girls like Ahri weren’t interested in guys like Ekko.  He was sure she was only interested in him insofar as he was able to save her failing grades.

         “Besides, things are already fine as they are with us just being friends.  No sense in making things weird.”
