A few Rictus Thoughts

Prior to being trapped the hole, Rictus was a Dahl miner. He doesn't have many strong feelings one way or the other about the company due to being a cog simply knocked loose from its place and Dahl probably feels the same as he's just one of literally millions of workers that contracted that all too common Pandora madness. Unlike a soldier, he had few specialized skills to speak of.

Rictus had always been quite lazy and ended up uneducated as a result. So, he, like many others, were simply expendable. Rictus is officially dead, according to Dahl.

Swimming Headcanons

Swim wear:

Vocatia: has a handful of stylish ones, but they're all two piece. She still tends to wear something covering her neck, like a light, fashionable scarf or a cut of swim top that has a choker-like collar to it.

Rictus: Fashionable shorts and a parasol, if possible. He's showing more skin than he's comfortable getting sunburnt.

Swimming:

Vocatia: Prefers to lounge/ find someplace to float, but she's a proficient swimmer. Knows the best places on the island for a dip and knows which rocks/fish to avoid for safety.

Rictus: Not that great at swimming, but resembles an octopus as he does it since his tentacles do the bulk of the work.

VOCATIA “THE BANDIT MOTHER”

Vocatia is an original character inspired by the Gearbox title Borderlands. This is a fan-generated page written and maintained by pendles-is-friendles.  All images (outside of reblogs) are drawn by himself or screenshots pulled directly in-game.

Occupation: Owner, operator, and bartender at the Sinful Bat, a small strip club on Wam Bam Island meant more for locals than tourists. Her retirement is a blessed life in paradise with Gnoll at her side, both familiar with the local wildlife, jungle and beaches.  Vocatia has a taste for the finer things in life, she is also fiercely loyal to her “sons.“  Most of her “sons” do not live on the island, the funds from the Sinful Bat pay for them to live comfortably elsewhere.  Many are random, useful bandits that she’s met throughout her life, but some are also ex-Crimson Lance, ex-Dahl, or ex-Hyperion deserters and refugees.  Her right-hand man is Rictus and her left-hand man is Jacques.

Weapons:  Vocatia is not afraid to use her fists when faced with a threat, but her gold plated assault rifle shreds her enemies to bits as well. However, as the leader of her own gang, she usually has a son or two at her disposal to help her out and Gnoll is quick to her side to protect her.

Personality:  Headstrong, patient with her allies, but quick to anger with strangers and her enemies.  She is quick to make a judgement.  As a strip club owner, she’s flirtatious and has developed an eye for attractive people to put up onto her stage.  However, she is not a cheater: she is loyal to Gnoll and would never do anything to make him jealous.  She is shrewd, but not necessarily smart.  She is not subtle and values courage and impulsiveness as personality traits.  Expect her to try to get your muse to dance in her club at least once.

RICTUS

Height: 5 foot 4 inches

Hair: Blackish purple

Eyes: Unknown, glowing purple

Alignment: Chaotic neutral

Sexuality: Very Gay

Romance: Extremely Gay

Birthday: Nov. 13th

Occupation: Was once a miner that had found himself trapped deep within Eridian ruins. After several years, he escaped, forever changed by the radiation and Guardian energies altering his appearance and his abilities permanently. Unsure as to why he has been chosen or altered, he wandered Pandora and ended up meeting Vocatia. It did not take long for her to take him under her wing and make him one of her most valued “sons.”

Weapons: 16 purple glowing tentacles that embed into his skin like tattoos when they are not in use.  It is unclear whether Rictus can see, but it is too notable to mention that he does not reach for a gun or a longer-ranged weapon in fights.  Instead, he gets close to slash with his laser-bladed knives and use his tentacles.  One might not wish to let him use his tentacles after he has cut you though.

Personality:  Rictus is lazy and overall apathetic towards most people.  He hangs around the Sinful Bat, mostly sleeping away the days.  When the club is closed, or he’s alone and there’s music on, one may catch him dancing on the stage.  To no fault of his own, others around him will feel unsettled, just that uncanny ‘something’s wrong’ feeling.  When he does have the energy (or just gets off his ass) Rictus will find mischief which can result in him messing with the wrong person at the worst time.  However, he does not lack a heart: he will do what he thinks is the right thing and can be downright romantic/soft with the right person.
