This kind of thing is always risky, approaching a supernatural being for help with related matters.  Most of them have a vested interest in making sure Gerry doesn’t complete his mission in life, so he will try to keep his destructive tendencies on the down low as much as he expects her to read him, anyway.

He has heard about Damaris during his investigation.  In fact, her name has been coming up quite a lot recently, so he figured he should find out what her deal is.  And based on the rumors, she seems more helpful than most of the other avatars he has encountered in his time.
