We all know the fact that Naruhodou (Wright) passed the bar exam to get the opportunity to face Mitsurugi (Edgeworth) in court.

This is all, as it seems at first glance, naive, a little retrospective, selfish, romantic, and so on. However, no matter how clinging to the past Naruhodou may seem, is he really that loyal and forgiving to his old childhood friend?

Nothing like that. Nah. Not a chance.

When Mitsurugi is first mentioned by Detective Itonoko in an office conversation in the Turnabout Sisters (jp. 逆転姉妹), we are given two answer options - first: Of course i don't know him, second: Of course, I know him.

If we choose the first option, the detective will tell us a little backstory about the prodigy prosecutor and express the opinion that it is strange that Naruhodou hasn't heard about him. To which Naruhodou will answer that he simply feigned ignorance and will express his opinion about the prosecutor in an internal monologue.

If we choose the second option, Naruhodou will loudly share his immodest conclusions about Mitsurugi, which will displease the detective.

Even the beginning of the meeting is accompanied by Naruhodou’s thoughts that he must not relax and show weakness, otherwise Mitsurugi will swallow him alive.

From the very beginning, Naruhodou isn't in the mood to play on emotions and press on pity, instead preparing himself for the worst.

He understands that time spent together in childhood is not an argument or a reason to start a conversation.

The entire court hearing is accompanied by Naruhodou's evaluative comments about Mitsurugi - he curses him, out loud questions some of the actions of the prosecutor (updated autopsy report), calls and interrogates inconvenient witnesses for the prosecution (Mitsurugi doesn't want me to question the witness, but I don't care), answers him with the same barbs (Wasn't it you who told me "proof is everything"? Well, I was listening.), denounces the collusion of the prosecution with the witnesses, protests against the postponement of the hearings in order to prevent manipulation of the evidence, in general, by any means, unbalances Mitsurugi.

He is literally: Is there something you don’t like? I don't care.

In the next case - Turnabout Samurai (jp. 逆転のトノサマン), Detective Itonoko is angry at Naruhodou for upsetting the prosecutor, but his response is not remorseful: "Umm... so?"

During the first day of the hearing, Naruhodou literally laughs at the confrontation between the prosecution and his own witness ("Wow, old windbag has left even Mitsurugi speechless. She's good!" or "Mitsurugi found himself a worthy opponent"). He also sincerely doesn't understand why Mitsurugi’s behavior has changed, and he seems out of place, but he doesn't stop creating problems for the prosecution.

He doesn't soften towards him until the Turnabout Goodbyes (jp. 逆転、そしてサヨナラ), in which Mitsurugi becomes his client, and even later, when they begin to build a trusting relationship, Naruhodou does not make concessions for Mitsurugi and does not bend under his pressure.

So, Naruhodou did pass a very difficult exam to gain access to the courtroom, but he essentially created a hopeless situation for Mitsurugi. In the conditions of the court hearing, the prosecutor had no other chance than to listen to the arguments of the defense. Naruhodou may not have addressed Mitsurugi directly at first, saying that his ideology was terrible, but he did, proving with his words and actions right in the halls of the law that this is not how things are done and there is a limit to cruelty. He calmly used the letter of the law and jurisprudence - the language that Mitsurugi respects and lives by.

Defeat your opponent with his own weapon when you think he is wrong.

Naruhodou is a stubborn, purposeful, and quite strict person of character who lives without regrets, takes big risks, and doesn't allow himself to relax in any difficult situation.

The Loyal Pin - Episode 9

I love that this episode started with one color-coded brother being so happy after a night of partying.

And the other one losing his color because he is internally freaking out trying to convince himself that Anin basically had sex with her best friend on the lawn for everyone and God to see because she was drunk. Keep telling yourself that lie, dear brother. I used that excuse in college too. Alcohol just makes people gay . . . er. Sure, Jan.

But we all know Anin is sexing up her girlfriend, SOBER, so now it's time for a color-coded beach trip, so TV can lie to us again that sex in the sand is romantic and not torturous. However, the skin is awfully soft after rolling around it in for a bit, so I guess beach sex has its perks beyond, you know, it being sex.

But the heteros do not understand the queer agenda and immediately start wrecking Pink Person Pin and Blue Beauty Anin's beach sex plans.

But Aon is playing these color-coded games too in order to get Anin's attention and wearing versions of pink and purple throughout the trip. Basically the love rivals are waging a strategic color-coded war, and if I wasn't so pissed off at them, I'd be really proud of the wardrobe department for acing this assignment and earning its paycheck.

But I AM pissed because these rivals are doing the most to get in between the ladies and make color-coded fetch happen when IT'S NEVER GONNA HAPPEN, GRETCHEN!

One of them even decides to go as far as DROWNING to get attention! This is like the extreme version of "instigating a fight so his hands can be on you" but because we are dealing with lesbians it's "drowning in the beach trip so her lips can be on you." And I know she didn't do it on purpose, but the structural sexism in this scene with all the men refusing to give her CPR because it wasn't proper is why feminism is for EVERYONE! There is nothing inherently sexual about lips touching lips, yet even when SAVING A LIFE, everyone made that shit sexual (INCLUDING PIN!) and I'm looking at a show set in the 50s (60s?) and feeling like it's about 2024, so now I'm pissed about it.

Pin's mom has mentioned several times that both girls must marry, and Anin's brothers have made similar comments, so even though the girls are growing closer, I think harsh reality is already sneaking into their plans and the colors might be telling us that.

So I think the girls need to be careful or they will turn into the mothers, and because I think Pin's mom is a lesbian who vowed to be the perfect woman rather than love someone else after status tore her and her girlfriend apart, the truth might be closer than I realize, and her color-coded story is similar to the girls in more way than one.

But the colors could all be meaningless, and I could just be crazy. Who knows, you know?

Hate when I read a 'bad-parent-bruce-wayne' fic and all the kids immediately start hating him and leave the manor the second they find out, especially if he's only a bad parent to one of them because thats not how it works

They'd probably be outraged, yes, but they're all terribly loyal to Bruce. I think they'd be confused, in denial, maybe even aggressive in their defensiveness. They'd comfort their sibling, of course they would. They'd be angry at Bruce, yelling and cussing. But they'd probably also ask questions. They'd try to assure themselves that no, Bruce would never do that, not without a good reason too!

Please remember that a majority of the batfam had terrible parents, which means they're far more likely to forgive Bruce because he's 'not as bad'. Please remember that a person doesn't just change their opinion of a loved one within seconds, no matter how cruel they turn out to be. Please remember that, canonically, Bruce is a terrible parent, and his children have never really stayed angry at him, despite the man definitely deserving it.

I want more fanfics where they show the realistic back-and-forth that people have when they find out their parents are bad. Show the denial, the anger, the victim-blaming, and then the inevitable acceptance of being hurt and the process of moving on.

I want more fanfics where some siblings go non-contact and others visit on weekends and others have daily calls and none of them shit on each other for having different reactions, because it's valid to still want to see your dad, even if he's a bad person, just as its valid to want to change your name and never see him again.

So I wrote this post about Lucien deserving Elain in a fit of anger. And now I'm back with more anger because guess what guys.

Elain ALSO deserves Lucien.

I see it all the time. "Lucien deserves someone who actually likes him." Followed by bashing Elain as if she is the worst person ever and doesn't deserve love.

Please stop pretending like you're making this argument because you care about Lucien. Lucien deserves his soulmate. He deserves to have that HEA with the one person who he has a soul to soul connection with. Don't throw side characters and randos at him that do not make sense at all to his narrative or how SJM had canonized how mating bonds work. Do you honestly think Lucien is going to care that some other female wants him???? Do you even get that Lucien can easily get any female in Prythian and has gotten many of them but none of them really mattered to him the way Elain matters to him.

Listen to his words. He tells everyone he's a mated male now for a reason. He is loyal to Elain regardless of whether she is showing him desire.

Elain is a GOOD person. Just like Lucien. She is kind and thoughtful. Careful and empathetic. Strong and resilient. Elain loves with her whole heart. She loved her father when no one else could see as worthy. Not even her sisters. She loved Graysen faithfully even if he was a scumbag who didn't deserve her devotion. So, I think Elain knows what it means to love, and she is not ready to give away her heart so fast again. Especially not to someone who can see all of her.

Yes, it's hard that she isn't ready to love Lucien yet. But girl has been THROUGH it. She has been struggling with a loss of her autonomy, her future, and her identity. And all of that with the pressure of a soulmate who is a stranger. None of you can say you'd handle it perfectly either.

And guess what. Lucien, my brave and soulful man, understands that. He is the only one who acknowledged when Elain was severely depressed in ACOWAR that she suffered a trauma. He is the only one that gives her space rather than pushing his opinions or desires of what he wants her to be onto her. He knows she isn't ready. And he's waiting. Giving her space but also being present enough so she knows he is there when she is ready to get to know him. That is all he has wanted.

Jumping to the assumption that Elain "doesn't even like him" is bold. You don't know Elain's thoughts. You don't know how she really feels about Lucien as a person. We have some inklings about what she thought about the bond right after her terrible breakup that she was still mourning. We know that before Lucien left on a dangerous mission, she took a half step as if to stop him. We know that she has shown genuine care over whether he's hurt. And we know that she feels the connection to him (I can hear your heart beating through the stone) and that is never going away. We know that Elain is affected by Lucien and it's not a leap to think that she feels as drawn to him as he is to her, she just has to be ready. And maybe Elain can tell Lucien is a good male who she doesn't want to inflict her messiness on just yet. Maybe she knows to jump in too fast wouldn't be fair to him either.

So many denigrate Elain and say she is boring, selfish, or mean all because she is struggling through a tough time in her life. And even in that struggle, she still maintains her kindness. She still searches for hope. She still wants to better herself. Which sounds a lot like that mate of hers. And when she is ready to fall in love again, she will get exactly the man that she deserves. Lucien Vanserra. Because Elain deserves the unconditional love that he has to offer. Finally someone will return it back to her.

What if Sephiroth was adopted by President Shinra? I know it wouldn't be the most caring environment, but what if Mr President decided "Hojo I'm afraid that your son is mine now because my son is a pussy" so now Seph is basically being raised as competition for Rufus in terms of who gets to run the company. Seph doesn't want this of course, but its not like there's a choice

President Shinra is NOT Father of the Year. And pitting Sephiroth and Rufus against each other is an extremely bad idea. But gradually, after settling in and realizing that he's NOT going back to R&D, Sephiroth is so in love with the idea of having an actual parent that he doesn't care. Plus it helps to no longer have to be abused and mistreated in a lab. He's still a weapon, yes. But now he gets to live large being pampered and spoiled by President Shinra's servants and attendants.

Growing up, Sephiroth seems to have a lot more confidence in himself this time around, dedicated and hardworking, while also feeling a greater sense of status and worth. He's a bit prideful from time to time, but still not arrogant. That tiny kernel of gentleness remains, and with less trauma from Hojo to harden his heart. He's blindly loyal to his adoptive father, always making excuses for his shortcomings, tailing him like a protective shadow and ready to give his life without a moment's notice. He loves President Shinra. Adores him. No matter how many awful, terrible things President Shinra does to the world, Sephiroth will stay by his side to the very end. And not out of a desire to one day assume the company for himself, but out of actual gratitude and devotion.

He and Rufus really do come to hate each other though. An undying loathing that has no rival. Rufus views Sephiroth as the unfairly favored son who has no right to anything, a loyal little boyscout with more loyalty than brains. Sephiroth, in turn, views Rufus as nasty and cruel, a grim reminder of Hojo. He doesn't even WANT to take over Shinra. He's totally fine with being his father's personal bodyguard for the rest of his days. But he's also very open and petty about his disdain for his brother so it's not like he makes it any easier.

Jetstorm lost his right optic in an "accident" before he joined ShadowRaker (no one would hire a "broken ugly" minicon when there were so many perfectly functioning cute ones ready for hire

the start of the deterioration of their relationship- Deadlock being outraged that Megatron tolerated someone who saw his men as objects/tools/etc from one under his command and Megatron... really not giving a shit about the details

Shadow Raker's forces were damn good at their job, they were all treated well, and he was a proven loyal decepticon, so what did it matter if he gave out punishments and stole a few things here and there (SR is obviously not stupid enough to steal from Megatron or it would be a different story)

Megatron allowed Deadlock to storm out, assigning him the occasional mission as he blew off steam and meandered

Deadlock isn't happy with the direction the Decpeticon cause is going but has no idea what to do about it (because if it pans out to nothing then he killed and committed so many war crimes for NOTHING)

Overall, I think Law would be a caring and dedicated partner in a romantic relationship, loyal to the grave type, never one to betray. His love would know no boundaries and his partner would be *always* on his mind. But it would be probably a bit heavy though, considering everything he went through. He would be always worried about losing that person, he would also sacrifice the whole world if needed just to prevent that from happening. He's like "I would drag you forcefully to safety if I have to, even against your will". Other than that he wouldn't limit their freedom.

He would also probably get quite jealous, he wouldn't admit it outloud but he would want to be the only special person for his partner. That probably would be the result of Law's slightly poor self-esteem. Which means he would also be very forgiving, even if his partner really hurt his feelings, because again, them being safe and alive is what matters the most to him. I guess one could call it pretty unconditional, selfless type of love, but also a bit martyr-like. You never should push away your own needs and feelings away for the sake of your significant other, that usually ends up in a disaster. Considering the fact he is absolute trash at talking about his own feelings, needs and fears, this would definitely lead to endless number of problems in the relationship. But everytime he opens up and allows his partner to see him as vulnerable would just matter all that much more thanks to that. It probably doesn't happen often, no matter if the partner is very understanding and caring, or not.

His attitude would still be harsh and his words cold, but his actions would make up for it. One needs to be very patient or/and very good at reading emotions to get through that facade. At times he might also act very distant or push his partner away, just because he thinks that will be better for them in the longer go or because he feels like he cares way too much. It wouldn't mean he doesn't trust them, it just shows his own problems within himself just run that deep.

I wouldn't go as far as to say he would be a terrible partner, but he sort of would be. Perhaps things would work out best with someone who has also strong issues that complement his. Someone who wants all of his attention for himself, who fears of being abandoned the most of all, who acts all reckless so Law can actually do what he wants to do the most: rescue them from trouble all the time. At first it might sound like a complete mismatch, someone who pushes away others out of fear and someone who desperately can't deal with being pushed away, but I think it has the potential in this case to overcome both of those fears. Because their attachment issues are so strong and passionate that they mirror each other and potentially can merge into something better and stronger. After all they could deliver exactly what the other lacks and yearns for. This way, maybe they can both improve each other to be better people and at the same time fill that pitless hole in their hearts. Maybe Law would even learn how to pamper his partner in ways that are easier to understand, just because he wouldn't want to hurt them and make them feel loved instead. And also create tons of heartbreak and drama once the pushing away gimmick starts. Slightly toxic.

I was reading terrible things about Sansa Stark and now my blood is boiling. How could people HATE an 11 yr old child who has absolutely no control over her own life. They went as far as to saying the mountain-clan will kidnap her and she will marry Timit!!!!😳

They also say Sansa will remain in the Vale until the end of the last book, but have no objections to Arya and Dany on a revenge killing spree. And for God's sake don't mention Sansa with Jon. They absolutely go INSANE, saying Dany and Jon will save humanity. Dany can't save anyone if she is killing millions of people and burning others alive.

Sansa will kill LF with the help of Timit is what they say and OHHH, Jon will marry Val. How TF can Val be QINT when she is a wilding and no real princess. She looks the part as Jon says, but we ALL know what kind of woman Jon REALLY CRAVE. A high born willowy creature who brushes her hair waiting for some knight to save her.

Jon craves Sansa Stark aNd I personally believe he always HAVE. My response to "these idiots was this: (and I could be wrong) but who knows.

Alyas Karstark was a red herring. Sansa is definitely the girl in grey. Miranda also has a grey cloak that went missing and WHY would Miranda mention Jon being LC to Sansa? There is a reason for all of that. Just like Arya and Jon were to fall in love in original version, it's going to be Sansa and Jon.

Jon even says he has no sister (,5Never considered Sansa a sister) he then says “my half sister truly” (that's what he and Sansa referred to each other as) He mistakes Melsandra for Ygritte, and says all robes are GREY in the dark, yet suddenly hers were RED. Martin is a hell of a writer, and I was in denial about Sansa being the grey girl as well. Not anymore.

Sansa is getting the hell out of the Vale. There will be no kidnapping from mointain-clans or falling in love with a secondary character such as Timit. What sense would that even make? Some people act as if Sansa doesn't matter, or she is some side character when she has one of the most tragic SAD stories in the whole series. She is scared and do whatever she has to do to survive, even if it means allowing LF to kiss her and molest her in which she has NO CONTROL over. It also blows my mind how people were “shipping” (and I hate that word) Sansa Stark and the HOUND of all monsters. Sansa has had 4 FALE BEASTS in her life. Joffery, Tyrion, The Hound, and LF. These men are evil and takes advantage of a young lonely 11 yr old girl who has been captured like a butterfly in a Jar. They are evil, YES; BUT they are NOT the real BEAST.

The real BEAST is Jon Snow. As we know, Jon was already a bit ruthless before the stabbings. (I do not think Jon died that night) For ONE: We need to think about the SNOW and hypothermia which can save the lives of people who are bleeding by knife wound or gunshot would. It's simple Science. Will Jon be on the brink of death and have a Near death experience? YES. There will be a lot of chaos at Castle Black and the wildings are very loyal to Jon. Eventually they will be ruling the wall while Jon recovers along with a few other loyal CROWS that love and respect Jon.

Master Ameon had a dragon dream when him, Gilly and Sam sailed off. He couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to tell Jon Snow that “ the cold preserves.” A fan asked GRRM about Jon's resurrection, and Martin said, “You think Jon is dead do you?” Maybe he was toying around, but everyone automatically assumed he DIED when there is absolutely NO EVIDENCE.

“He never felt the 4 knife only the cold” How do we even know there was a 4th knife or any other knives afterwards? Why was Jon’s hand clumsy when he tried to pull his sword out? Did they drug him? Why was Ghost acting hostile before the stabbings? Of course Ghost knew what was up. There is no telling who is involved in the attempt on Jon's life. Melsandra told him to watch the ones who smile in his face while they sharpen their daggers. I don't even rule Satin out, as Ive said many, many times.

On the show, Ollie was Satin in my opinion. They did not want to give it away. Back to Jon and Sansa and a few other things. First I want to say, Melsandra will definitely burn Shrinee thinking Stannis is actually dead. She will play absolutely NO PART in bringing Jon back from his “coma”. It's going to be Jon's wolf who saves him and release his soul back into his body, and Ghost will die, also sliding his shadow into Jon because Jon IS GHOST.

He will definitely be a beast and he will not be the same Jon as we know him. This is where Sansa Stark ( girl in grey) will come along and temper Jon just like she did the hound. They will eventually work together and fall in love and struggle with these feelings because keep in mind, Jon and Sansa does not know each other AT ALL. Yes, he will welcome her in open arms and be extremely protective of her, and yes they will fight while trying to get their home back or when they have to rebuild Winterfell together. (The blood of Winterfell)

Sansa Stark is destined to go North because she is the only one out of all the Stark children who has her wolf buried at Winterfell, and as Melsandra like to say: “the bones remember"

Morality in the Dragon Prince

TDP does an excellent job weaving in several ways of moral reasoning without outright stating whether any of them are right. To wit, there exist the Big Three types of moralities: consequentialism, deontology, and virtue ethics, which we will call here (1) Outcome-driven, (2) Rule-driven, and (3) Character-driven. There are main characters who are influenced by each of these three camps.

Outcome-driven morality focuses on the ends. Creating the greatest good for the greatest number. Actions don't have values in of themselves, all that matters is what the result of those actions were, and what the benefit was. The characters who mesh most with this morality are Viren, Claudia, and Karim.

Rule-driven morality focuses on following principles and duties (like don't lie or steal), rather than consequences. Actions are inherently right or wrong, depending on whether our moral obligations were fulfilled, and are universal and impartial. The characters who mesh most with this morality are Ezran, Rayla, and Janai.

Character-driven morality rejects both of these camps. Morality isn't about achieving good outcomes or following good actions, but about cultivating good character traits such as compassion, courage, and wisdom. The idea is that pursuing virtuous behavior leads to personal flourishing, which in turn leads to good conduct. The characters who mesh most with this morality are Soren, Callum, and Amaya (i.e. the ones who are training or learning all the time).

But each of these moralities have serious pitfalls, which in turn influences the flaws of each of the characters above.

Under outcome-driven morality, the ends justify the means. It doesn't matter if Viren has to kill the princes, Claudia has to do unspeakable things, or Karim has to kill his sister. The outcomes (bright future for humanity, saving one's family, or saving one's people), at least in the minds of each person, are good, so any action taken, no matter how terrible, is justified. Hence why each of these three descend down the slippery slope of villainy pretty quickly.

No matter how dangerous. No matter how vile.

Rule-driven morality avoids this problem, but instead creates a different one: these characters become rigid and inflexible, and unable to deal with nuanced situations. Hence why Ezran gives up the crown: violence is bad, so he does what he can to avoid bloodshed, which only leads to a much larger war in Xadia. Whereas Viren and Claudia can justify too many actions, Rayla and Ezran can't justify enough to do what they should be doing.

How can I let this happen?

Character-driven morality, meanwhile, has two big problems that matter here, one impacting Soren and the other impacting Callum. The first is that virtues don't really provide clear guidance in complicated situations, so people may get roped into situations that are hard to justify. Such as...a plot to kill the princes.

The right thing? I don't know if I can do that.

The second is that what's virtuous often differs based on roles. The virtues in being a soldier (bravery, strong will, etc.) is going to be different from the virtues of being a scholar (intelligence, wisdom, etc.). But what if you are both things? What happens when what's virtuous in one role is wrong in another?

This is where Callum often finds himself in. On the one hand, being a good primal mage involves integrity, and adherence to ethical standards when using magic. Dark magic is a clear violation of that, yet on the other hand being a good prince means Callum should display duty and courage, especially in defense of those people he's loyal to. So in that case he should use dark magic if it means he can fight to protect those same people. Thus, Callum's character gets splintered into two, hard-to-reconcile halves.

Look at you. Slave to your friends, your loyalties, your pride.

There aren't any easy answers to any of these, let alone which moral code is most correct. But where these moralities succeed or fail parallels pretty closely to where these characters rise or fall.

On Aventurine and Sunday

Spoilers for Honkai: Star Rail "Penacony" arc below the cut

The Aventurine-Sunday conflict scene is so wildly misleading for what happens moving forward. Aventurine is portrayed as this jaded (pun intended) victim of circumstance who questions why the gods allow terrible things to happen and how he can be considered to be blessed with luck when his entire tribe and family were exterminated, while Sunday is portrayed as a rigidly virtuous religious zealot who wants to impose his extremely dogmatic Path on to everyone and harshly punish those he views as sinners.

But then later Aventurine is like "Actually I just have to accept what happened to me and hope it makes sense someday, and also I just have to continue to endure constant misery so that I can make my family proud who told me to have faith and be good" and Sunday is like "I Will Kill the Gods With My Own Hands and Build a Paradise for Humanity with Their Remains" like okay?????

Aventurine is built up as this person who defies destiny but then just ends up completely accepting his destiny, meanwhile Sunday actually tries to change the course of the universe and everyone else is like NO, things can NOT be better, suffering and capitalism are Inevitable and how Dare you suggest otherwise, you deranged maniac

We're encouraged to think of Aventurine's position with the IPC as sort of a status condition, a semi-convenient vehicle that belies his true personal ambitions. In contrast, when we first meet Sunday, he IS the Family for all intents and purposes, and we assume that he is the primary defender of Penacony's status quo, including all the capitalism, commercialism, and exploitation. Aventurine is framed as heroically investigating the murders and trying to give voice to the voiceless, while Sunday is framed as an oppressor who abuses his power for his own petty satisfaction.

But when everything shakes out, that's not how it is at all. In the end, everything Aventurine did for the greater good was meaningless, because the murders weren't really murders, and they likely would have come to light through Gallagher's interventions regardless of Aventurine's actions. Sure, he disrupts the status quo of Penacony, a bit, to make the Family look bad, but any noise he made completely pales in comparison to what Sunday ends up doing anyway. So the only thing he accomplishes that actually ends up mattering is sneaking the three cornerstones into Penacony, allowing the IPC to gain a foothold, specifically via his two colleagues, who, unlike him, are never framed as anything but essentially loyal to the IPC and its imperialism. Even if you hold that Sunday is evil and that what he wants must be stopped (which I obviously don't, but that's a discussion for another time), and that Aventurine's actions may have indirectly created difficulty for Sunday in that regard, Aventurine cannot be credited for helping to prevent it because he did not know that it was going to happen.

Meanwhile, Sunday is framed as cruelly torturing Aventurine, but how did that turn out? Sure, it was painful, but when you look at what actually happened, the Harmony basically gave Aventurine therapy, allowing him to reconcile with his inner child and future self, resolve his internal conflict and resentment, and face the uncertainty of the future with bravery. And can we really blame Sunday for hating Aventurine? First of all he's just lost his sister, but moreover, from Sunday's perspective, Aventurine is just another oppressor from the IPC trying to steal his planet—which he in fact is, it's just that we're encouraged to think of this as sort of a lesser/necessary evil because obviously Sunday and the Family suck.

But Sunday doesn't represent the Family or the status quo. He doesn't want things in Penacony to continue as they are, with Dreamchasers' fantasies being exploited for profit and stowaways selling body parts for a chance at an okay existence. There's no way to say it without sounding a bit ridiculous because of how cynical we've all become at the idea of utopia but—truly, all Sunday wants is for everyone to be happy forever. And he's perfectly fine shaking things up or breaking ties to make that happen, breaking the Oak Family off from the other Families, being willing to throw his foster father under the bus at the first sign of disagreement if it means protecting his sister, not even being loyal to the Aeons from whom he draws his power. Sunday's loyalty is to himself and humanity alone.

I feel confused and, frankly, a little bit lied to. I still like both characters and think that their portrayals are complex and nuanced; but it's more so the way that the narrative contorts around them in order to frame Aventurine as a hero and Sunday as a villain that annoys me. You can tell me that this is so all you want, but I have my own eyes and brain and this is not the conclusion that I would draw.

some "lefty"(socially conservative centrist who think they're left leaning or male supremacist socialists or Neoliberal capitalist) women have an odd sexual jealousy of other women and internalized misogyny which makes it hard for other women( for example: me) to really trust them and have a generally insecure offputting vibe. They often have this dead look in their eyes, let men treat them like shit, but the worst thing in the world is another woman being honest with them. They are often truamatized and laugh it off, how low expectations of men, but expect women to baby them and be an endless supply of validation or else they think she's a bitch. Like they love men no matter how ugly they treat them. They have a sick hero worship/fanaticism for misogynistic dudes that is just as bad as right-wing women. It's very sad and I try to be polite towards them but the way they talk about other women in sexually demeaning language and the general cattiness is very disturbing.

Like this one woman at college telling me she doesn't care if a man disrespects her in bed or yells at her as long as he is loyal to her. Always calling other women bitches. (Except me oddly enough, for some reason she has been nothing but nice to me, but I'm just an acquaintance) and saying violence(sexual/nonsexual) from men turns them on. Again she hasn't been cruel to me personally but I've witnessed her being fake and talking about her one female friend behind her back. So yeah I tend to keep my distance from women like that.

She's also a "I'm not a feminist cause some women are stupid" type so yikes.....💀💀💀💀

I feel bad for not being able to reach out to women like this but some of them are genuinely bordering on evil.

yeah it's so terrible when women are too deeply brainwashed into male worship like slaves but you have to just let them be who they are and move on. When she calls crying with a black eye you let her stay in your home before she goes back to him, etc.
