Just a quick ☯ test so I can get back into the groove of writing my boi Andrew again
It's been weeks since Andrew's big incident. He hasn't been contacted or in touch with anyone during all that time, mostly spent reminiscing and thinking about how things could've been. How they would've been better. Enter a big kangaroo and his small bilby pal, both of whom have caught Andrew's attention.
He briefly reconsidered not saying anything, yet he persevered anyway. This may be the only chance he'd get to engage in conversation with anyone besides himself for months! "Are you the only ones?" He asked the two quickly. Andrew worried that behind them there might've been an angry crowd ready to tear him apart. The bilby and the kangaroo stared at the toad confused.
"Who know?" He elaborated. The two still looked on, lost in the context.
"...That I'm here?" He now whispered. Again, the fear of being theoretically torn to shreds haunted his conscience. He didn't want anyone else to hear his location, should they perhaps be ready to rip him apart again. The bilby finally answered. "I think so, but I don't..."
"Phew! Last thing I need is to be mobbed while I'm still moist, from my douched-on upper scene."[citation needed] Andrew was relieved. He had a lot of weight on his shoulders upon these two stumbling across him, and he relaxed his muscles once he found out he was safe... for now. "You're...?" The bilby was about to ask the toad who he was, but he began to ramble before Perry could get any more words out.
"Although to be honest, it's quite nice bumping into you." Andrew paced about the two as he explained his situation. The bilby and kangaroo were finally about to be introduced to his character, and for once in a long while, Andrew embraced their soon-to-be-found knowledge.
"I value the privacy, I really do. I needed a bit of me time... Y'know, a little medititive solitude, but it's just so boring, y'know? Sorry..."
(at least for now)
Andrew spoke and gloated for a solid minute before the kangaroo started doubting Andrew's sanity. "Okay... Uh, Perry, should we get moving?" Red whispered to Perry's ear. Still the toad continued to monologue, even breaking the two's space together to regain his attention.
"Can you imagine what it's like, looking like this?" He looked over towards Red's direction, mildly distraught. "Aww, of course you can't. Look at your thin lips!" He pressed his gleaming finger onto the kangaroo's mouth, before backing up to nonchalantly compliment his bilby companion.
"Y'know in a way, I envy him, his cloddish visage... If I looked less amazing, maybe it wouldn't have happened!" Andrew let his shoulder go of Perry as he slowly began to slightly break down, over the unspoken events of his past. "What wouldn't?" Perry asked Andrew.
He was suddenly back to being shy and hesitant, and began to stumble on, and think carefully about, his own words. "The tragic thing... that... happened." Perry was puzzled still, at what must've happened to Andrew. The bilby softly spoke a simple "What?"
"Would you mind if we stopped talking about it?" The cane toad suddenly raised his voice. His mindset immediately switched to being a drama queen in just mere milliseconds. Red began to hop away from the toad. "Great idea." He sarcastically said as he grabbed Perry. Andrew instantly saw the kangaroo's efforts to carry the bilby onward to his own path, and quickly grabbed the bilby by his arm back, before looking back again.
"It's very painful!" Andrew attempted to bait the two into hearing his story through and through, but the kangaroo was having none of it. "Okay handsome, thanks for sharing. Let's go." Red said whilst winking at Perry, signaling the bilby to follow in his footsteps. "I'm sorry, we have to leave." The bilby quietly adjourned to Andrew, as he slowly started backing up towards the direction Red was heading.
"Oh yeah, no worries, yeah sure. See ya." Andrew quickly replied back. He tried to act like their departure was nothing more than a tasteless fly, but deep down he knew that it meant the world to him, being able to speak to someone whom hasn't had a negative bias towards him in such a long time. He thought it over and decided... Where those two were heading, perhaps Andrew should tag along with?
