Oh boy, now here comes Nemesis wandering around Tartarus.

After that very bizarre experience the other night at Tartarus, Minato was hoping that tonight's exploration would be a little bit more normal. While the first ten floors had been business as usual, and even taking out a floor guardian shadow that had prevented them from advancing to the floor. It had been a long successful infiltration tonight and they had made some decent progress. With those ten floors now behind them, he could tell that the team was getting pretty tired, the floor was strangely quiet, but after checking with Fuuka, and she confirmed with him that the floor was clear, he thought nothing of it. Because of how hard everyone had worked, maybe it was best he'd send them back ahead of him, if there were no Shadows on the floor with him, then he had nothing to worry about, or so he thought.

[{ 🦋 }] - "You guys worked hard today, good work everyone, go ahead and return to the entrance without me. I'm gonna take a look around and see if there's anything we can use."

Once he reassured his friends that he would be fine, they agreed and Fuuka took them back with the power of her Persona since no one had found the access point to leave. Without a worry, the fool began to casually and calmly walk through the halls, his sword still in hand but lowered with his arm while his other hand rested comfortably inside his pants pocket as he took a look around, finding suitcases that either contained an item useful in battles like medicine or chewing soul, sometimes it was even money. It could be anything. Before he could wrap up his search, he heard Fuuka's voice come through, and it was not good news, not at all.

"Minato-Kun, Something very large is coming your way! I don't know what it is, but it isn't a Shadow. Please be careful!"

[{ 🦋 }] - "Something very large?"

He repeats, the navigator's warning cutting through the calm atmosphere that was now no longer here. A deadly silence, where time feels like it stopped and the sound of everything around you fades before tuning out completely, bringing an eerie chill up your spine. What was it?

And then he heard it, the sound of slow heavy stomping, but not the same kind of stomping like before, this kind sounded, robotic. Like it was walking slow, calm and clearly not the steps of anything human., it doesn't take long before he hears it, a deep voice that seems to roll out, sounding more like a guttural growl just barely making out the words

"S T A A A A A A A R R R R R S S S!"

Not long after the voice, a large creature with a disfigured face with only a single eye and teeth, a huge humanoid figure clad in some sort of leather that had yellow wraps of some sort, it also had tubes running through its back, large gloved hands, the right one holding what appeared to be a Bazooka. Minato didn't waste a single second quickly turning his back and once again broke into a full sprint as this large humongous creature cased after him, Minato was about to get some distance, but felt something slimy wrap around his ankle and pull him down. Letting out a gasp, he's tugged down towards the ground, hitting his forehead in the process.

Pained by the bump, he lets out a groan, and before he has time to catch his breath, he's yanked into the hand of this beast, its large fingers beginning to curl around his neck, any second he felt like his neck would snap like a twig if his head wasn't crushed like a watermelon in from the size of his hand first. He had to move fast or this would be it for him.

In a desperate last-ditch effort to escape, before he lets the breath leave his lungs from the pressure, he manages to pull out his evoker and uses the adrenaline to put it to his temple, with a burst of blue energy, Minato summons the Persona: Siegfried who strikes the ground with his sword casting Brave Blade, a move that causes a series of cuts to multiple enemies, but since this thing was large, all the slices were aimed at this creature which managed to wound it causing him to break free as the Persona disappeared back into depths of his psyche.

Minato doesn't stick around near it any longer now that he's free from its grasp and takes off, coughing a bit before recovering and finally getting some distance from it, but it's not long before more stomping is heard, but much quicker this time, this thing was coming, he needed to leave fast. Minato begins to again break into a sprint and quickly connects with Fuuka.

[{ 🦋 }] - "OHGODOHSHITOHNO FUUKA-CHAN! SAVE ME BEFORE THIS HUGE FREAK GRABS ME!" He shouts, his legs not stopping for a single second, this thing would kill him the next time he was in his clutches, he couldn't afford to stop now.

Not even he could keep his cool right now, he hoped and prayed that nothing else like this would wander into Tartarus, but considering how this was the second unexpected creature, who the hell really knew anymore?

OH YOU WANT MORE DEETS OF THE HITMAN ONE… I’M INTO IT.

1) Minato is suspicious of Akechi from the get-go and doesn’t actually trust him to be on any specific cases, so the most Minato has him do is paperwork. Which irritates Akechi because “I? Have to do something as tedious as paperwork? With MY NAME?”

Minato implies Akechi’s fame doesn’t mean anything for this agency and therefore Akechi (just like everyone else) is starting off with a clean slate (meaning, no successes and no failures prior to joining the agency counts) and instead of take this as offensive, Akechi is kind of… relieved. 

He’s staged his own success and he’s done some pretty awful things for Shido so to hear Minato actually only counts what Akechi does for their Agency is… relieving? Not that he’ll say it. It’s fucked logic in his opinion, but he’s not going to question it because it works in his favor (it actually doesn’t work in his favor but he’s thinking about it from a personal standpoint in this case lmao). But Minato’s mentality to let his work speak for itself/allow others to prove themselves on their own merit rather than pick sides and favor others because of their past is something he admires in a person, so it’d make Akechi soft for Minato, even if just a little. It wouldn’t really matter much because he’d still shrug and think “Guess I’ll be killing a nice guy then, huh.”

2) MINATO DOES BUY HIM SWEETS… as a reward for helping out in a case. He gives Akechi little words of praise, words he never really hears from Shido because that’s his job. Following orders is his job, and that never gets thanks from Shido, ever. And he never expects it to. Akechi hasn’t been doing any solid detective work for a good while because his detective title soon only became a title he could hide behind to bury evidence against Shido. Akechi also doesn’t really trust anyone else because of Shido’s influence, so he always assumes he will kill Minato in the end, no matter what happens. He can’t go against Shido, and even if he did, he’d have no backup. Trusting Minato with that information wouldn’t do anything. Unless Akechi actually finds out what kind of source Minato has (a clue/lead on Shido) he can’t decide whether it’s worth the risk to put Shido in jail, or… kill Minato.

3) Minato gets soft because he can see Akechi’s just as much of a perfectionist as he is. Ridiculously so. Akechi’s always the second last person out the door, and that’s only because Minato himself is the last to leave. Minato will try to help him relax every now and again when he looks like he’s working himself tired, and again, it will bother Akechi because stop being fucking nice to me I’m supposed to kiLL YOU GOD DAMN IT MINATO. He’s not trying to be an asshole because he does need to get on Minato’s good side enough for Minato to trust him with information related to Shido but… that means becoming more friendly. It will just make betraying Minato that much harder. 

4) There is a reason Minato’s also always the last one to exit when Akechi joins, and that’s because he doesn’t really trust Akechi to be in his office… alone. However, after they spend time together, Minato feels it’s too late to stick around, and he tosses the keys to the office to Akechi, asking him to lock up when he’s done looking through the files. Akechi gets the keys to Minato’s office. Now’s a perfect time to snoop for the information he’s been seeking but he just. Looks at the keys. Looks back at Minato. And decides “I’m feeling quite fatigued myself. Best I make my leave, too.” Akechi knows this is the opportunity he’s been waiting for (to be alone with very important documents so he can search for what he needs without it seeming… suspicious) but he feels… dirty for it. Minato just trusted him with the keys. Like. God damn, Minato, at least let me trick you, wtf. Though, it’s also an obvious trap. The second anything’d go missing in that room, Akechi would be the first to blame. It’s too convenient, and Minato isn’t an idiot. It was a lure, and neither of them are idiots.

I love this Au it’s like… 2 very similar people trying to constantly 1up each other bc they have trust issues lmfao.

I completely agree with you tho!

Kakashi was too, i guess, caught up in his own trauma (for lack of a better wording). The way he coped was the only way he knew how to cope with anything. From Kakashi's understanding his tragedy was just his own failing, like u said. I don't think he could understand Sasuke's tragedy as anything more than a mere tragedy (as apposed to a ninja version of a systematic injustice).

To him that's just how things go, everyone dies bc they're shinobi. To Kakashi, Sasuke "just" lost everyone he loved and not Sasuke had faced a great and horrible injustice that needs to be addressed.

What super kills about it tho is that Kakashi's tragedy was an injustice! Caused by the same people and power that caused Sasuke's!

Kakashi has internalized too many fucked up shinobi ideas to really do anything about it. Which is why i don't think he'd have the wherewithal to challenge the 'system' even if he knew and accepted the truth about the massacre.

Of course i do think Kakashi understands that Itachi did an evil thing and that, to an extent, the shinobi system is actively harmful to everyone but especially children. But there's a lot of cognitive dissonance for him bc to actually internalize the idea that the shinobi system is as fucked up as it is he would have to acknowledge preteen him isn't responsible for Obito or Rin's death. He would have to be willing, on some level, to let go of his guilt and forgive himself.

Which i do not think he is capable of. I think it's almost a crutch for him at this point. I've touched on it in tags but i think Kakashi can easily be read as having OCD. I think he thinks that reminding himself that he is responsible for their deaths is a way for him to like assure himself he'll never let anything like that happen again.

He must stand at the memorial stone for hours every chance he gets bc if he doesn't effectively retraumatized himself on a regular basis he'll slip up and lose someone else.

Even in an filler episode (i think it was filler anyway) he reflects back on Minato passing him, Obito, and Rin on the bell test, and he thinks maybe Minato was wrong to pass them but then immediately follows that up with 'oh I'm just trying to pass off blame onto someone else. I'm responsible for their deaths.' Like, my guy, u were a child

He has to let all of that go in order to even begin understanding Sasuke's position.

I know i rag on kakashi for not handling Sasuke's uh situation well but honestly what could he have done?

Pull him out of the shinobi program and he probably would have just left the village sooner looking for power.

There's no such thing of ninja therapy yet.

Kakashi wasn't able to connect on an emotional level bc of his own trauma.

About the only way for Kakashi to have kept Sasuke away from orochimaru would have (maybe) been to prevent the 2nd encounter with Itachi, but kakashi got his ass kicked.

Sasuke wasn't wrong to want revenge tbc. The concern is more for Sasuke's health and long term happiness.

Kakashi didn't know the truth about the Uchiha massacre. So it's not like he could have directed Sasuke's hatred and grief in a more productive direction. Even if he had known i don't think he would have had the wherewithal to challenge the 3rd and Danzo over it. Maybe he would/could have defected but then he would have just been a rogue ninja, would he have been able to take Sasuke with him? Idk.

Idk i don't have a point just Kakashi was handed an impossible situation and now he has more guilt bc of it. And i wanna to kill the 3rd hokage with my bare hands. And Danzo.

firstable let it be known i dont dislike tobirama (theres a very good in depth post abt him i could try and find if u want) and i feel like putting the blame on him for the way the uchiha were treated AFTER his death is absolving all following hokages of the role they played in it. hiruzen didnt repeal any of tobiramas laws and minato didnt repeal any of tobiramas laws even tho they both had the opportunity to do so. furthermore when hirzuen took office again he tried to limit the already limited power the uchihas had and isolated them in the compound. now the greatest advantage that wouldve come out of tobirama not having been hokage is imo hiruzen not being hokage either. bc tobirama picked hiruzen for it and im not saying he had any way of knowing things would turn out the way they did nor that it was his intention but thats how it be. it’s a choice he made and a choice madara most likely wouldnt have made. now re: madaras term even if whatever he implemented (which wouldve been definitely and unambiguously pro uchiha) was to be abrogated later on by following hokages, the situation wouldve been better at least for a while back then. and even the fact itself wouldve been something considering that in canon out of seven hokages exactly zero have been uchihas
