Hero’s Journey (AZURE AU)
The Hero's Journey, is the common template of a broad category of tales that involve a hero who goes on an adventure, and in a decisive crisis wins a victory, and then comes homechanged or transformed.
((Basically I will be using this to write about Ruby’s character development in the AZURE AU ^^))

Ordinary World
(The Hero’s normal life before the adventure begins)
Ruby is a shy girl with a small circle of friends. She doesn’t make much of an effort socializing with many people , believing that she is content with life without them. Her older brother, Izumi was all she had and needed
Call To Adventure (An event that sparks a calling for the hero to start their journey)
Ruby was starting to notice some changes from Izumi. He seemed grumpier and more stressed out...and maybe a bit depressed. The young rose is getting worried that he might be having problems with either his work or school, but the older brother refused to tell her anything. When she talked to one of Izumi’s classmates and co-workers, Arashi. She learned all about the things he was going through at Yumenosaki
Refusal/Acceptance to the Call (Hero must make the decision if they want to accept the call or pass it up)
Ruby is distraught seeing her brother like this. She wanted to do something to help him but is unsure what. That’s when Arashi told her that Yumenosaki Academy will become a co-ed school next year. He susggested to the little rose that she should enroll at the idol course and join Izumi there. Thinking that her presence in the school might do him some good. Of course, Ruby was quick to reject the idea. Unlike Izumi, she has zero knowledge and experience in the entertainment world, and yet even he had a hard time getting through Yumenosaki’s entrance exams. How can someone like her possibly be able to earn a spot at a school for idols?
Meeting the Mentor (After starting their jouney, the hero meets someone or some people that will help and guide them along the way)
Luckily for Ruby, Arashi was willing to help her out. He taught her how to sing, dance, and every other piece of knowledge that she will be needing. Of course, it had to be kept secret from Izumi. It wasn’t easy, but she managed to push through... Arashi was the first person to have ever done so much for Ruby aside from her brother, and for that she is eternally grateful to him
Crossing the Threshold (The first major step in the journey that the hero experiences)
The day of Yumenosaki’s entrance exams has arrived, and Ruby had forgotten about the most basic part of being an idol. Performing in front of an audience. Naturally, she was a nervous wreck...She was so scared that she wanted to run out of there. But she didn’t... She kept reminding herself the reason why she practiced so hard for this in the first place. To be with Izumi. Her love for her brother is what fueled her determination to overcome her fear and pass the exam
Road of Trials (Obstacles the hero must endure and bypass during the journey)
Ruby passes and is officially a student in Yumenosaki’s Idol course along with her brother. But the real challenge has only just begun. Especially with the state the school is in under the student council’s control. With the help of Izumi, the two of them formed the unit “AZURE”. And the pair supported each other through thick and thin in this warzone of an entertainment world
Supreme Ordeal (A major problem the hero faces. Normally has to deal with personal/mental troubles over physical)
As time went on, the bond of the two step-siblings was being put to the test as well. They have been pretty close to each other for almost their entire lives, but now they started having arguments and disagreements that get worse each time. Very slowly they start to drift apart, eventually turning into a heated feud.
Ultimate Boon (A major peaking point in the hero’s journey. It’s a very positive point in their life)
There is a saying that “at the end of the day, a loving family finds everything forgivable”. And their love for each other did managed to have won over their prides and anger in the end. After talking things through, they finally learned to accept each other’s decisions and promised to continue to support each other
Refusal of the Return (The hero starts not looking back in to the past and only working towards their goal)
After her brother’s acceptance, Ruby chooses to continue to become an idol. It is the path that allowed her to meet and make friends with all sorts of people, it had changed her into the person she is now, and it even lead her to her brother... It has become a far too precious part of her life for her to just leave behind.
Crossing the Return Threshold (The hero decides what to do with the knowledge that they have earned throughout their journey)
Ruby’s plan is to rejoin Izumi in the entertainment world outside of Yumenosaki, and continue to stay by his side to support him for as long as she can. Who knows? Maybe they’ll even have a comeback as AZURE?
Master of Two Worlds (The final step in the journey. The hero has complete balance in their life and ordeals and are satisfied with where they are)
Ruby and Izumi have always been an inseparable duo, if possible, Ruby wished that they could be together forever like this, but deep down she knew that there will come a time that the two of them must part and walk down their own separate paths. It’d be a lie to say that the thought didn’t made her sad. She’s not sure how long she can survive in the entertainment world for them to continue walking side by side, but if there is one thing she’s sure of, it’s that they’ll manage to be together again no matter how long or how far they are kept apart. They are family after all.
