OC Superlatives Tag Game

The Favorite

I don't think this comes as a surprise to anyone. Faith is so very dear to me she is quite literally a part of myself. She brings me so much comfort and has been an outlet for me for the past like? 3 years?? Gosh look at how far she's come. She helps remind me that everything is going to be okay.

The Oldest

While technically I have some ocs that are even older than her, Cookie is my first self insert lmao. Nowadays I don't think any but a couple of y'all would even know who she is and that makes me a lil sad! She's very special to me and was very beloved by people who meant a lot to me. Very few know me and her story well enough to see how on the nose it is an escape from my own life. Not shown here but she has burn scars on her right wrist/forearm. An exaggeration of my own burn scar in the same place. Cookie has always been there as a way to not feel alone, to see myself in someone who has been through similar experiences and made it out through the other side. To remember why it's so important to keep fighting.

The Newest

Okay maybe not the newest.. but Iris is the newest oc I've actually been putting a lot of time and love and effort into! I love her a lot! I know I still don't talk abt her as in depth as I would like to but I swear she's got more going on than I share. I just can't help wanting to draw her so self-indulgently full of love all the time, it makes me happy to have silly fun! I really really have been meaning to doodle her more vulnerable and serious moments because she's got a lot of grief in her heart she isn't letting out.

The Meanest

I suppose she was going to have to make her debut sooner or later.. okay but I genuinely don't have much to say abt Poppy. She's been a priv exclusive oc for a lil while and she's not developed.. like.. at all.. I ramble about her a LOT but I'm also literally every day scrapping everything bc my ideas are constantly changing so she's fr not ready yet lmao. Even I don't fully know what her deal is yet! But I can confirm she is the most ruthless (should I admit she's my lowkey nuka-world raider oc I made specifically to fuck Porter Gage nasty as hell likeeeee)

The Softest

Maril is my BABY!! She does not have a mean bone in her body and the closest she'll ever get is when she's defending her friends! She's so generous, she wants to help others any chance she gets and sees the best in everyone.

The Most Standoffish/Aloof

Faith is quite reserved, honestly. Becoming Captain wasn't exactly the life she chose for herself but it was the role she had to take on. For Phin, for her crew, for Halcyon, it was something she would grow to take seriously in time. She doesn't like to let on just how stressed and overwhelmed she is until she crashes and burns and has to be forced to rest before her stomach ulcer incapacitates her (speaking from experience, it's excruciating). When allowed to, she's pretty quiet and keeps to herself. She was never exactly the most social person and struggled to maintain any sort of relationship with anybody. She'll eventually warm up to her crew and come out of her shell. Sometimes you just need to meet the right band of misfits who get you.

The Smartest

I swear this isn't just me tooting my own horn. I genuinely built her character favoring her intellect and charm. Her highest levels were in engineering, science, and medical. She's got a head on her shoulders, and she's often pretty lost in it. Faith loves to build and tinker with things and loves reading and learning as much as she can. One her own comforts, really. Maril and Iris aren't necessarily too far off on this one, Faith just has a little more under her belt. (Maril is also dedicated almost exclusively to being a gummi ship mechanic and Iris is best at carpentry!)

The Dumbest

Poppy is by no means a moron and shouldn't be underestimated. But her skills and knowledge are very strong in fighting and survival. She does however qualify as my dumbest oc here because.. she was my melee heavy idiot savant build! Girl never at any point got a single level put into her INT lmao.

The One I'd be Friends With

Hands down Maril would be the bestest friend I could ask for. She would be so sweet and considerate and let's be real.. I'd want to also work on the gummi ships with her. I love my gals but I just know Maril would be a ray of sunshine and a great friend. She'd also love to listen to me talk abt all my own projects and we could build so many cool things together..

Your phone slips out of your hand and onto the bed as you flop back onto the mattress. You close your eyes and feel a sappy smile worm its way across your face. You thank whatever higher being warned you of your online friend's celebrity status and his celebrity friends before this because as you watch them walk towards you, you find yourself growing more and more intimidated. It's so weird being the center of 5 objectively attractive men's attentions, how the fuck no one's died from skyrocketing blood pressure at their concerts you will never know.

With a quick mental cleanse you rid yourself of any thoughts of their celebrity-ness, they came here to hang out and be normal people and so help you God you will not ruin this for them!

A widening grin makes its way onto your face as lock eyes with Z, "Hey, tiny."

You immeditaly puff up at the nickname, "I am not tiny, you're just an obscenely tall motherfucker!"

"Our point exactly!" Two voices chorus from behind Z, the owner of the louder of the two voices, bounds over to you, "I'm T, that's Tae and you are going to be our new favourite."

Tae nods and practically skips over, "Just because we're not 7 fucking feet tall doesn't mean we're short, but some people seem to forget that due to being taller than Mount fucking Everest! Glad to finally meet someone who's simply correct."

T looks likes a broken bobblehead simply from the force of his nods, "Robaire's not even that much taller than us, maybe like a couple inches, so the short jokes are just low hanging fruit at this point, not a pun!"

You smile brightly at both of them, "Nice to meet you both, I have a feeling we'll become great allies!"

The other tall one, who, by process of elimination is probably Jesse, speaks up, "Okay, enough squabbling, how about we go inside before we get stared at even more."

Robaire nods, "Agreed, plus I would kill for a bowling alley slushie right now."

You eyes narrow as you turn to him, "What flavour?"

He looks at you in return, he's eyes narrowing as well, "The only correct flavour there is, the blue one."

You straighten up and nod approvingly before turning to Z, "Looks like I've found a better partner in crime, someone who knows their bowling alley slushies and doesn't choose the red one over the blue one."

T gasps dramatically making you laugh, "I can't believe you said the red one over the blue one, everyone knows you have to get blue because it changes your tongue to blue."

Z rolls his eyes, "Who cares about omgue colour if it doesn't taste as good as the red one."

This time you gasp dramatically, one of hands flying to forehead in shock, "I can't believe you just said that! The blue one is way better tasting than the red one!"

Jesse sighs, "You guys are worse than my kids."

Tae smiles dangerously, "You're only saying that because you secretly like the red one more."

T turned to Jesse with a look of betrayal plastered across his face, "Is it true? Have you truly gone to the dark side!?"

Jesse scoffs, "I'd hardly call liking the red one over the blue one going to the dark side."

T fake sobs into your shoulder, "He does! He's betrayed us!" You pat T on the arm comfortingly, "It's alright, just because they don't understand doesn't change the fact that most people prefer the blue one."

Robaire sniffs, "Betrayed by my very own friends, whatever did I do to deserve this heartbreak."

Z groans, "What the fuck is this, man.."

T stares at Tae accusingly, "So, are you team blue or team red?"

Tae smiles innocently and replies, "I hate slushies!"

He then skips off into the bowling place leaving the rest of the group in shock..

Friday, February 23rd, 2024!

7:55am: I slept for so long and woke up with no alarms this morning :) feels amazing. Still had a huge orange chunk come out of my nose but it's less than before, I just don't know when it will stop lol (I literally had to get up while writing this and do another one). Last night I had to go to sleep unexpectedly early bc I had a milkshake and it made me so bloated omg. I think I'm officially at that age where I really can't just be eating anything 😂 of course I can bc I'm an independent woman 💅 but not without The Consequences. Also I just popped my BC in and I'm ready for my period to stop and also for the stomach issues to stop omg it's been rough out here. It really feels like spring break should be today, but the pros to it being next week are that it's one week closer to the end, I won't be on my period at all, and hopefully it will be warmer!! I'm tired of this cold ass weather!!

I feel good today besides the random brain thoughts that I don't particularly want. I need to figure out how to replace those thoughts with ones I do what. This journaling, as much ranting as it is, definitely helps me I guess regulate my runaway thoughts. I really want to take a post poop nap though those are the best so ttyl lmao.

10:47am: omg I continued to sleep until 9:50am I don't know how to explain to people how much sleep I really feel like I need. Idk it's probably depression but that's literally ok I'm just doing what I can. I still miss him and that's ok too. I don't really miss him I literally miss just having someone to talk to. But he fucked up and it's his loss, not mine. He lost a genuine person, and I lost a liar who cheats and steals money and nothing he does is genuine, it's all fake to get people to like him so he can use their shit for all it's worth. What's crazy is he's so fake he doesn't even care about these cats after he kept saying he misses them oh boohoo me it's like losing two kids, then blocks me so he'll effectively never fucking see them again. He's literally so fake AF. I take pride knowing I'm not a fake ass bitch and I don't lie to people. Doesn't matter if people believe me or not because I know I'm not lying about anything. If you think I'm lying, you just have something else going on in your life that you have to deal with clearly. This image of them getting on the bike together I think will stay with me for a while, I guess visuals are really my downfall. I know I'm the bigger person bc I literally said yeah y'all are cute together before he stopped speaking to me and everything was chill. It was chill because I made it chill. I made this entire friendship what it was and I'm really convinced of it now tbh. I don't like him, I like me and how I act towards him 😂 I like nice people, aka myself lmao.

I have an entire like, spin-off arc of my own that's based around a more 'corrupt' hero society in America, and how people can be labeled a villain over the smallest crimes, or even things that were a mistake/accident. On top of that, it focuses on the harsh treatment and dehumanization of 'villains' who are imprisoned. It also covers how little pro-heroes care about destroying property or creating situations that put civilians into more danger, just so they can win a fight that wasn't needed in the first place.

I don't have a solid plot just yet, but I know its gonna focus on villains who were either in the wrong place at the wrong time, or were criminalized for vigilantism.

For reference, this is all based around the MLA/War arc, up until probably just before the PLF vs. Heroes battle. Anything after that doesn't happen, fuck canon, my story now.

Being a huge genetics geek and being fascinated by the idea of quirks and how they'd be passed on/mutated like our own traits and genes, I also dive into a shitload of theories and possibilities of quirks:

Quirks that are mixed (like Shotos)

Genetically altered (through science rather than whatever tf AFO does)

Generation skipping (ex: grandma has x quirk trait, mother does not, but daughter does, so on so forth)

Deeper look into the collection of various quirk traits over a lifetime (quirk singularity theory)

How quirks can affect the users body and mind, for better or for worse

Other types of quirk biology (ex: physical traits that someone possesses from a distant ancestors quirk, but has no relation to their own, like Juzo Honenuki, whose teeth are on the outside of his mouth despite it not being related to his quirk at all)

And possibly other "types" of quirks outside of Emitter/Transformation/Mutation.

And since I'm also super interested in the workings of law and crime, true crime, unsolved/cold cases, psychology, behavioral studies, and of course human rights, I'm going to try my damn best to focus on the treatment of incarcerated villains/criminals. I'm gonna dig up all the fuckin' dirt on this shit country and expose that shit in this plotline.

OKAY now that I have the overall plot kinda laid out - a bit poorly since theres no real structure lmao - lemmie introduce you to the Main Cast™ under the cut

Carpe Noctem

Group of outcasts who were villainized due to petty crime, genuine mistakes, or quirk-profiling. Their base is located beneath the night club Phase, a popular safe haven for villains/criminals due to its mixture with innocent civilians who are unaffiliated with the underground and are only there to have a good time. It's the only thing keeping Pro-Heroes/police from raiding the place.

Originally meant to become a support hero/spy, but due to her quirk mutation, ended up deciding to become a "villain actress" for hero training as her main career. If others were to approach her with support/spy offerings, then she'd take them, but it was no longer her main focus

Insomniac due to her quirk

Believes that sometimes violence is the answer, but death/murder never is. She just wants to create chaos and fear to prove her point, the less injuries the better

Though, she allows her group to only kill if necessary (i.e, if it's in self defense, or if the person was about to do something dangerous)

Stumbled upon a mugging one night, and was mistaken as the culprit by a pro-hero

Even if it was a small offence, one that he was innocent of too, he was required to go through a behavioral program "camp" if he wanted to keep it off his record

He meets Adelynn at said "camp", his past ties to her making him her right-hand man

Always willing to pick fights, or end them

One of the only members who kills with no hesitation or remorse

His father, who was very poor, ended up allowing a shady factory owner hire his 12 year old son to work in dangerous and terrible conditions for little pay alongside other young children

Discovered the true effects of his quirk after singing old sea shanties while he worked, noticing his peers were beginning to follow tasks similar to him

Fled his home country after using his quirk to make the factory owner jump from the factory's catwalk once he discovered the pe/dophillic motives of the man, eventually exposing the horrid conditions of the place after police investigated

Managed to be smuggled into America when some boatmen took pity on his situation

Spends his life since being an informant, smuggler, and items dealer for the underground

When fully soaked (either from being submerged in water, caught in pouring rain, taking a bath/shower, etc) his physical features begin to become more aquatic and aggressive: Slit pupils, iridescent scales on various parts of his body, ability to breathe under water, sharpened teeth, webbed fingers/toes, and even a craving for bloodlust

Was kept as a subject to eventually test if his conscience could be transferred and preserved, while his body is destroyed

Was rescued a few weeks after Adelynn was discharged and Carpe Noctem was formed, her using her sister's pro-hero status to demand he be released

Due to having no recollection of his past life, he decided to join Carpe Noctem in hopes of one day retrieving his memories, as well as knowing he will no longer be welcomed elsewhere due to his criminal status

Was a surgeon for the majority of her career, which makes her a perfect doctor for the gang

Criminalized after attempting to use her quirk to resuscitate a patient in critical condition, knowing the physical defibrillator wont be ready on time. In her panic and desperation, she ends up using too much power, killing the patient

Though her co-workers knew she was just trying to do the right thing to same them, and didn't blame her for anything, the family of the patient felt otherwise. They demanded she be fired and faced with criminal charges for manslaughter

Racked with guilt, she agreed to the charges on her record, even though the court jury found her not guilty

Unable to get another job after the ordeal, she seeks to use her talents in the underground, becoming the doctor of Carpe Noctem, who can also hold herself in a fight

Fantastic chemist; makes and sells anesthetics and disinfectants to other underground organizations

Born in Germany, but move to America when he was an infant

Adelynn and Danica's father

Vigilante, but called a villain. Keeps his vigilante life separate from his home life, guarding his identity with his life for the sake of his family

Quirk details:

⁘ Quirk allows him to alter and control shadows, forming them into 3D, physical shapes nearly identical to its source ⁘ The shadow figures are unable to speak or make sound, if said shadow is from a living being. However, through training, he's able to make the figures replicate its respective users quirk to an extent ⁘ Using his quirk causes poor circulation, making his hands and feet lose feeling after extended/intense use. In severe cases, his fingers and toes will turn blue ⁘ Quirk looses effect once one of these criteria is met: a) The shadow figure reaches a certain distance from him, but not from the source object, b) a light source cuts into the shadow connection, c) the object casting the shadow is destroyed or altered ⁘ Shadow figures can maintain their form even if the source object is long gone (but not destroyed), as long as it has other shadow sources to draw energy from, most common being Johann's own shadow

Married his ex-wife, Irene Knight, out of mutual goals: Irene wanted biological children, and her family wanted the children to be within wedlock, but she didn't want to be in a strict relationship because of her career; Johann wanted his family to stop berating him for being gay and pushing him to have children of his own

Made it known to Irene that the two would have to concieve artificially due to him not feeling sexual attraction to her

Make no mistake, he ADORES his kids regardless

Irene had only one condition: their kids would take her last name. Not out of spite, but because it's been a recent family tradition for her

Works as a support gear designer

Divorced after Irene wanted to dictate how Adelynn lived her life in order to protect her quirk; while Johann wanted Adelynn to have whatever sort of childhood she wanted, offering support to her if needed

After seeing how controlling she was of their first daughters life choices, and after Adelynn suffered a head injury while playing in a creek with her sister, Johann and Irene's arguments and fights became too much to handle

Wins custody over Adelynn in the divorce case

Moves away to Japan once he receives a job offer at Detrenat, working as both a support gear designer and a German translator, as most of the company's supplies are ordered from Germany

Since he's a single dad, he would bring Adelynn to work with him. The MLA fuckin' adored her, even the grumpy types. They'd never admit it though, even if its obvious when they let her hide in their office when she's playing hide and seek, and feign ignorance to her location

Eventually fakes his death in America while visiting Adelynn during her first college years, as the public was becoming suspicious of his identity as Penumbra, then returns to Japan under the radar until he believes the time is right to reunite with Adelynn

Until then, he convinces himself that this is a good opportunity for her to grow independently of his and the MLA's ideals, if she so chooses
