I had to come running over here after you talked about Sebek.

I actually disliked/ didn’t care for him that much but Nightmare Before Christmas event and his vignettes definitely improves my image of him! I love how mature he is regarding Skully in the near end of the event, and I love everything about his vignettes lol which??? Never happened before??? Sebek encouraging Sally using Romeo and Juliet story (can’t believe that’s canon in twst too afsfgshs), Sebek talking about his parents’ love story, etc. It’s all so wonderful and surprising (to me).

The story card especially makes me appreciate Sebek’s character much much more.

Seriously 😭 Lost in the Book with Nightmare Before Christmas and his Nightmare Suit vignettes were such good showings of his character and his maturity! I love how the upperclassmen both praise him and chide him, I love how he demonstrates his loyalty to Malleus isn't blind devotion (something he's often accused of, even in-universe) but rather noting his flaws and choosing to accept those and love him anyway, I love how he stands up to Skully, I love how he reads stories and thinks deeply about the author's intent behind the writing, I love that he related it back to his own family's experiences... But most of all, I love how SEBEK ZIGVOLT of all students (and not Rook, who feels like the more "obvious" matchmaker character) is l playing Cupid for Sally. AND I LOVE THAT SALLY NOTICES HOW KIND SEBEK IS WHEN EVERYONE ELSE SHITS ON HIM AND CALLS HIM LOUD AND ANNOYING 🥺

Can you fucking imagine the true crime podcast that would come out about the mysterious disappearance of Vil Schoenheit? There'd be an entire episode devoted to how sketchy Crowley is. Multiple profiles of all his famous friends. Conspiracy theories from three different angles, especially when they look into the other missing students. Ortho being connected to the Shroud family means they wouldn't be able to get any information about him at all and that would spin off into a whole NEW theory. I think in the end they'd conclude it was an accident on campus that the staff tried to cover up. Nobody would bring up Playful Land until the last episode, and that's just to brush it off as an obvious internet hoax.

The pure abandonment,,, thee agony Riddle must've went through thinking he was gonna die alone (in both the "overblotting kills!" sense, and the "everybody here hates me. Now I'll be known as a failure of a mage to them, and my family. Etc" sense).

He's supposed to be surrounded by peers, his childhood friend was supposed to stand by his side through all of this, yet he has never felt isolation like this since his childhood. He's never been so pulled away from the people that were suppose to BE THERE FOR HIM. So now he's discarded cause of.. what?? Convenience?? Pride?? Ego??

Or is it because he's so hated, even by Trey, that even he isn't willing to call out for him. Everybody Riddle hoped would be there for him when he needed them the most, are just gone. Without a word. Without even left-over hope that in some desperate fragment of his psychic that they would call for him. That someone. Anybody. Would be there.

But nobody is willing to stay for a tyrant.

Like it shows so much about Riddle's and his mother's relationship and its so sad that he wants his mother to... idk how to word it

Like notice him? She does but at the same time she doesn't in a way. And maybe it's an effect since his mother always orders him around and tells him not to do things and so her calling out to him "so gently, so desperately, so indiscreetly" makes him feel comforted in a way or it feels nicer.

It's like how some moms yell at their child and the child cries but then the mom comes to comfort them. It's like that feeling LMAOO

But it's even sadder to hear him say that the voice wouldn't be her and it would make sense since he knows his mother

He knows his mother would never notice his hurt or pain and she would be ignorant like in all those years of strict rules and abuse.

And you can say "well he knows it's not his mom bc he's in nrc overblotting" but he doesn't say "it must be Trey" or Ace or Deuce or Crowley

He leaves it off with "who is it then?" Like he absolutely doesn't know who's calling for him and the first thing he expects is his mom but he knows it's not his mom

I absolutely think the kiss sound in the chapter 5-16 of NBC event is so symbolic, beside is like "He is here" I think its like "Halloween, when the people who is dead can go to the live people world" I mean, He returned with all of them to Sage's Island but because he is dead, they only felt the kiss on their hands (I dont remember if it was Sebek or Leona who recived it, maybe Sebek?) for me makes sense, idk

I agree with people who thinks he comes from other time because he is the Halloween King in Twisted wonderland as Jack said, he did all of things Jack said.
