Jimmy is accidentally found out as May complains how her sisters are such fashion hogs.
âPLEASE! DONâT HURT ME!â Jimmy pleads upon being found out.
âLooks like someone left something in their pocket!â
Itâs strange to see May act this way.
I honestly thought she changed and was going to explore more of her independent side.
Some fans wouldnât consider Hanky Panky Hullabaloo canon. With Sarah and Jimmy being fairies, and the events from the episode are never brought up again. The only reason we know that it was a canon episode is Eddâs Valentine to Eddy is seen in May I Have This Ed.
May has always stalked the Edâs. I feel this is rather out of character for her. Sheâs the funny, dim-witted and kind one of her trio. Like Ed.
Since the Kankerâs have agreed to back off the Edâs letting the boys come to them that doesnât mean they give other characters a free card. The Edâs have made an impact on their life. Their message doesnât register fully in their heads. If they want to show the Edâs they have changed and have become more mature and trust worthy then they should treat the world differently.
The world hasnât treated the Kankerâs right. The kids are the world. Thatâs why they capture them.
Marie points out that its âwhatâs his faceâ.
The Kankerâs have never made an effort to learn the names of the neighborhood kids. They even refer to Jonny as this in one episode.
What point would it have made? The girls donât like the kids. They lead a different life from them. Since the kids arenât accepting towards different lifestyles the Kankerâs find it pointless to even make a friendship with them.Â
How often were/are the girls bullied? It must have affected them to the point where they only want to hang out with each other. Theyâve moved multiple times never having a chance to get to know anybody. And their mother never encouraged making friendships. I think sheâs scared to let her daughters out into the world because the biological fathers may have abused them. The Kankerâs Mom never had a positive impact on the world.
The Kankerâs Mother is one of my favorite of the parents in the eene world. She is a hard working strong willed woman trying to keep a roof over her three daughters. She has made mistakes but learned to overcome them instead of living in the past. The may not have steered her daughters in the right direction but she always taught them to stand up for themselves.
The girls surround Jimmy as if theyâre predators lurking over the kill.
This use of POV shots, or above shots as I call them, really sells that unsettling feeling. Youâre trapped with three girls who have had quite a history in your neighborhood. And now you have no idea what theyâre going to do to you.
May decides that they should call Jimmy, âDutchâ.
The name Dutch mainly abbreviates to a dutch man. According to TheNameMeaning.com Dutch has become a popular baby boy name as of recently. Around 2010. When Big Picture Show was released.Â
âA little far from home arenât you, dutch?â
May believes âDutchâ could use a diaper change as she forced him to lie down on the ground.Â
TW: Kankerâs Raping the Edâs Theories [Can Skip if you Want]
Oh, this is so unsettling. I know there have been multiple fan theories which have stated that the Kankerâs may have raped the Edâs. No matter how unsettling they are such as Lee trapping Eddy in the shower while both are fully clothed, trapping them in a shed, and locking them in the girls bathroom I have never been given the feeling that they have ever raped them.Â
I can easily see these scenarios as something their mother would have done at their age. Their mother raised them better then that. She has learned from her own mistakes. And I also think the girls are not who they show themselves to the world as. They have only kissed the Edâs several times on their face.Â
The girls donât care about their image. They must know what rumors fly around about them. I think theyâd rather remain anonymous to the world with little social contact. Itâs a tough argument to consider but the Kankerâs have never raped the Edâs.Â
Each Kanker has a different intention on their use with Jimmy.
May pretends that Jimmy is a baby. She puts him in a diaper gently rocks him.Â
I get a more motherly vibe off May. She wants to one day get married and have children. This scene still inspects how May is trying to express her independent side. Although I theorized before they she may have been making new friends I think itâs been for her socially. Sheâs still been trying.
Leeâs intention is to date Jimmy.Â
Iâve noticed that Leeâs views on man arenât the healthiest.
Remember in Nagged to Ed where each Kanker drew a picture on their depiction of what their relationship would look like with each Ed? Leeâs automatically skips the first date, dating, and goes right to a wedding.Â
Lee was the first born. I believe that the Kankerâs Mother was seventeen or close to it when she had Lee. And then in only two years Marie and May are born. Lee had to witness her mother trying to get her life together as she moved from house to house, boyfriend to boyfriend, and multiple fights. Out of the sisters Lee knows how to stand up for herself. Sheâs practically the mother. And she plays the leader.Â
Lee and Eddy have more in common then they think. May and Marie look up to Lee. They hardly think for themselves. Similar to Eddy wants Ed and Edd to take the leadership roles May and Marie have a heroic moment where they hold their sister back. Youâll know this moment when we get to it.
I never noticed how Jimmy disgustingly sticks out his tongue upon being so close to Lee.Â
Like Edd, Jimmy also has germaphobic tendencies. He likes everything organized and clean. Look at his room. It would be similar to Eddâs without all the labels glued everywhere.
She cutely sticks her foot up believe Jimmy wants a date.
Lee wants to date a nine years old?
I remember a theory in which stating they head canoned Lee to be sixteen. They deemed the head canon too unsettling because Lee has a crush on a boy who is subsequently four years younger then her. That theory is proved here. Maybe sheâs teasing but this moment gives off the aspect that she would date someone much younger then her.
Which brings us to the topic of how Lee would never have a healthy relationship.
Yes, we get that Lee is disgusting.
I could have gone without seeing this very close shot of Lee with... leftovers in her teeth. The storyboard artists do a lot of close ups in this movie.
Close up -Â Â An intimate view or examination of something.
This definition goes along very well with how weâre examining the characters action in Big Picture Show. Theyâre all wearing masks. As time goes along theyâre starting to open up their true selves to the world.
As I was saying Lee will never be in a healthy relationship. She doesnât want to be the one who is taking orders. Sheâd rather be in charge. Lee is a very intimidating person to begin with. Sheâs secretive.Â
One of the reasons why fans have not been able to get to know Lee very well is because she hides her eyes. Eyes are the most important aspect about a person. They tell all. I think Lee may feel uncomfortable about herself or the way she has to live her life. So, she hides. Weâll also come to another theory later on.
As for Marie she doesnât see Jimmy as a baby. And she states that her man doesnât need to give her flowers.Â
He just needs to do her chores.
Marie is the most under written out of the character sisters. Fans like her because of her punk chick look. Donât let that look fool you because she is a much different person on the inside.
She wants to date Edd, a gentle, book nerd.Â
I actually like the ship EddMarie. I could see a relationship working out between them some day. I think Marie is hiding many hidden talents and interests about herself. I think one of her favorite past times is reading as seen in the background of one of the school episodes. And one of my favorite head canons that has become popular over time as that Marie loves music.Â
Marie wanting the guy to do her chores suggests that she wants to have a job while having a stay at home husband.
She wants to explore herself.
I have made a connection to the movie Inside Out in the past.
Remember âThe Cool Girlâ? Fear runs her console. Sheâs constantly on edge believe that people are going catch on to her act and see that she is only faking. Marieâs punk look is her way of being intimidating and make the world back off. The girls donât want anybody to find out about how they live their life. The last thing they want is for people to feel bad for them.
The girls act as if there nothing wrong with their life. And there isnât. We can live our lives however way we want. We have to be happy. The girls have one another, their mother, a roof over their heads, and theyâre at least trying to explore the world. A they experience change.
I love this about the girls. They may not be people who we can look up to but viewers can learn.
The girls fight over Jimmy stretching him out.
Jimmyâs lucky this is a cartoon world.
As Jimmy cries out that he getting stretch marks his pants rip revealing his underwear.
Another unsettling aspect of the girls nature.
âI JUST WANTED TO SEE ED, EDD, n EDDY GET CLOBBERED!â
Fun Fact: Only mention of Eddâs real name in the movie. Honestly, I really wish they could have used his real name more. Like whenever Eddy was along with Edd. In the first episode it looked as if they were setting it up that Eddy only called Edd by his real name when Ed wasnât around. It would have been a perfect reminded that this is Eddâs name as fans forget about that.
The girls let go trapping Jimmyâs whole body in his retainer.
Positioning themselves in the same way the Edâs do that in their opening theme song the Kankerâs question on what Jimmy refers to with their boyfriends.

Hey. After reading your speculations about Ignis (or should we call him Ai now, since Ignis is the name of his species?) being purple, evil and human, or rather Yusaku accepting him like one. It's all great, but a dreadful realization just hit me. Yusaku ALREADY has by his side someone with purple hair, human and, as people like to speculate, possibly evil in future. This, and Shoichi's love for dogs and your theory about his deck hit me. Alas, Shoichi might become evil BECAUSE of Yusaku. (1/1)
(2/2) Why because of Yusaku? Iâve been watching their relationship dynamic and noticed some bells that their bondsâ downfall has actually already started. Why? Itâs quite obvious that Shoichi loves Yusaku (in whatever way) and does anything for him (like breaking through SOLâs program or Data Storm itself). But, unfortunately, I see something not very good from Yusaku. It seems that he got so used to Shoichi as if he is his oxygen and itâs totally normal. Thus, Yusaku takes his help for granted.
(3/3) By for granted I mean just analyze his behavior. In episode 1 Yusaku bluntly disrupts Shoichiâs work as a hot dog vendor and Shoichi clearly express his annoyance. But okay, Yusaku smiled to him and said âWe can do this if we work togetherâ, and that sort of negated annoyance. Though Yusaku could have easily said âsorryâ in regards of disrupting Shoichiâs job.
(4/4) But then thereâs episode 5. After duel against Go Yusaku returns to the truck. Shoichi sits there clearly angry. He asks Yusaku âWhy didnât you log out right away?â. Yusakuâs answer was âYes. I just wanted to duel him (Onizuka) moreâ. Again, what word was missing? Right, âsorryâ. After all, Shoichi did create that escape root, it wouldnât have been hard for Yusaku to say âSorry. I just wanted to duel him more.â Itâs great that Yusaku was having fun, but still Shoichiâs effortsâŠ
(5/5) And next is the time Yusaku was lured by fake Blue Angel. It was clear that falling in it would be dangerous, both Shoichi and Ai told him that. But what did Yusaku? He told âI have a responsibilityâ. Again, âsorryâ was missed. And yeah, the duel against Revolver is hard. Ai was almost lost, Playmaker got shot right in the face by Revâs ace dragon. And yes, itâs true that Shoichi seemed like he was going to have a heart attack. And all the times the cameras were off? Shoichiâs panic?
(6/6) And yes, Iâve noticed too that every time Shoichi is nervous/tense itâs because of Yusaku. Also interesting fact: Shoichi in ED is also very tense and for some reason there is NOT A SINGLE shot of him together with Yusaku. Which is⊠weird. Theyâre confidants? They trust each other, right? And yet, Shoichi is all alone, under the rain and tense. And I repeat, so far the one who causes him to be in this state is Yusaku.
(7/7) Now to dogs and their symbolism regarding Shoichi. Dogs are known to be very loyal and they 100% their masters. I made a theory on discord that Shoichiâs VR form might be a werewolf. Dogs = Wolves = Werewolves. Shoichiâs deck might be also wolf-themed. And thatâs the point. What if considering Yusakuâs lack of a simple gratitude Shoichi might start to think or, someone will help him, that he, Shoichi, is not a HUMAN but a DOG in Yusakuâs eyes? Like âAre you Playmakerâs pet?â
(8/8) And itâs painful! Because Shoichi might get tired of being worried about Yusaku all the time and his tiredness would lead him to believe that Yusaku does that on purposes, uses him for his own benefit, playing with him only to kick him out on the streets when heâll accomplish his goals and Shoichi wouldnât be needed anymore. And Yusaku treats Ai more as a human than him⊠Shoichi might feel very bitter. He is NOT a dog, heâs a human! He, NOT Ai!
(9/9) And thatâs will be when Shoichi turns evil. Itâs because of Yusakuâs âmistreatmentâ of him. Shoichi might think âSo youâre thinking of me as a pet, a dog, a beast? Okay, Iâll act like one then? Tear you apart?â And THAT would be very bad, because it would create parallel of purple Ignis obtaining human-like qualities and purple-haired Shoichi losing them, turning into beast, willing to hurt Yusaku, to get his revenge on him for his broken heart.
(10/10) Tbh, I HATE this theory, but Iâm afraid itâs very probable. And yeah, about Shoichi having a werewolf VR form. Itâs again symbolical: a dog is a dog, it wouldnât betray its master, but a werewolf is partially a human, and humans are treacherous. So I wonder how will it go in this sort of scenario? How will Yusaku and Shoichi be together again? After THIS?
(In reference to this post.)
Before I get into the meat of this, Iâve been wondering the same thing about what weâre supposed to call Ignis/Ai. I think Iâm going to wait a bit longer to see if we get any confirmation, but I understand why some people are switching over now.Â
In any case, getting on to Shoichi!Â
When I mentioned the purple=evil coded theme, ngl Shoichi totally slipped my mind. But this is an apt point. Weâve also had purple-coded antagonists in every. Single. Spinoff.Â
DM
GX
5Ds
Zexal
Arc V
And Iâm sure thereâs someone Iâm missing. Mind you, we have had good purple-coded characters before, but⊠the only two that readily come to mind are Yuto and Ruri. And Yuto was ÂŒth demon god, soâ
Anyway, getting back to Vrains. We have purple Ignis, whoâs already shown some shady traits
and purple Shoichi.Â
And I just went all around town on this one, because⊠unless Iâm blanking on a shit-ton of characters, the number of good purple characters is vastly outnumbered by their evil counterparts. Which is a HUGE point in favor of the Shoichi-will-heel-turn speculations.
But you know me, I always figured heâd only heel turn if Rev is his little brother. What youâre suggesting here is that heâs going to heel turn regardless, all on his own, because of Yusakuâs ingratitude.Â
And I would agree. Their relationship is established enough that Yusaku doesnât have to go spouting his gratitude every five minutes, but he doesnât seem very concerned with how much Shoichi actually does for him. He also doesnât seem to realize how his actions (some of which suggest a lack of regard for his own life) effect Shoichi.Â
You listed off some really great evidence concerning Yusakuâs lack of gratitude, so Iâm not going to rehash that. Iâll just take a stab at why I think their relationship is like this.Â
I think in Yusakuâs mind, he does show gratitude to Shoichi just by being cordial. We know heâs typically very blunt, even callous with peopleâbut Shoichi is spared all of that. So far, heâs has never been dismissive of Shoichi, tried to roast him, or push him away. Heâs the person Yusaku respects the most, by far.Â
And Shoichi might let it slide because of what Yusakuâs been though. Being kidnapped and fucking experimented on is no joke, and this trauma has clearly effected the way he interacts with people. Iâm also sure he compares Yusakuâs suffering to his brotherâs. Maybe Shoichi feels like he canât help it, that if he brings up how Yusakuâs actions adversely effect him, itâll be like invalidating his experience.
Which is wrong. So, SO wrong. If you truly have a stable relationship with someone, youâll feel comfortable voicing when youâre feeling mistreated no matter what theyâve been through.Â
This hits a little close to home because of recent shenanigans, so Iâll just say this: you need to take the people you love into account with everything you do. You canât go off and do things that you know are going to adversely effect them, because when you do that youâre spitting on that personâs love. Itâs a sign of shortsightedness at best, and total selfishness at worst. Somewhere between those two extremes lies ingratitude.
And really, itâs the most awful thing in the world to give your heart and soul to someone⊠only to be lead to believe they never cared about you. Whether or not this is actually the case doesnât matter. Those feelings are hard to get over, and that sort of emotional betrayal can cut very deep.
It can easily make you feel like a dog. Because dogs can be mistreated by their masters, but (generally) that loyalty will still be there. So if someone mistreats you and is then surprised when you react badly to it, it suggests they think you have the same undying loyalty a dog would towards their master. If they then replace you, it only sends home the message that they never considered you to be an equal⊠because callous types will replace their pets if they run away/arenât of any use anymore.Â
To be clear, I am NOT trying to suggest Yusaku feels this way about Shoichi. We know he respects and loves Shoichi a great deal. But⊠this doesnât mean Shoichi canât come to this conclusion anyway.
If Ghost Girl is any indication, more people are probably going to start catching on that Playmaker has an ally. I wouldnât be surprised at all if Shoichi has go into Link Vrains himself one day to get Playmaker out of a jam. And the enemy might look at his VR designâthe hypothetical werewolfâand say what Shoichiâs always been afraid is the case:
âWho are you, Playmakerâs pet? The dogâs come to save his master?â
That, coupled with the near-guarantee that Yusaku and Ignisâs relationship is only going to improve? It could lead Shoichi to feel that he was only ever a means to an end whose place in Yusakuâs life has been replaced by a literal machine.Â
No matter how lifelike Ignis is, at the end of the day heâs an artificial intelligence program. Like Revolver said, he doesnât have a heartbeat or the breath of lifeâand barring a miracle, he never will. Sentient or not, it would be completely understandable if Shoichi took this as a slap to the face.Â
Because that sort of betrayal, if the relationship was especially cherished, can be searing. Heâd have all this anger and no idea what to do with it. If he couldnât voice his concerns to Yusaku when things were still good, how can he when things are on the rocks? So he might take it out on someone else⊠or suppress it. But when you suppress any sort of emotion, it will eventually explode. Guaranteed.
If this happened, like you said, it would be a beautiful parallel: Ignis becoming more human while Shoichi becomes more beast-like. If done especially well, Shoichi could heel-turn and attack Yusaku/Playmaker out of the blue, in a way thatâs totally random to everyone but Shoichi.Â
How theyâd reconcile would depend on what Shoichiâs heel turn entailed. It could be a one or two episode thing if no one else is involved, because then they can settle it with a duel (and Yusaku can finally apologize for everything, because Iâm sure heâd come to see where he went wrong).Â
But if Shoichi totally goes off the deep end and starts aiding Playmakerâs enemies? Joins the KoH/SOL/whoever? Then⊠it becomes more serious. Thatâs when they start trying to take each other out permanently.Â
⊠for someone who supposedly hates this theory, you sure thought up a beautiful set up for it lol
