You're so incredibly talented and give Sivir, Sej, and anyone you touch the attention and depth they deserve. You deserve all the attention you get and I would argue deserve so so much more too!!

@ecglesoul : To see AC characters get attention is to give me life. And you write such good ones, not only for the quality but also for the personal nostalgia value for me. Watching you shine a spotlight on Malik, Edward, Federico and just everyone there is such a self-indulgent treat. I'd love to get started and introduce Zagreus to any and all of them, because it really is a privilege!

@vastayah / @psielapki : Softie I know I been very quiet and bad with keeping up , but all the same I hope you know how fantastic it is to see your lil blorbos pop up in my friend's inboxes and occasionally on my feed. @wolfkcst : Eivor is a character I never had much exposure to prior to your blog. Like I had always heard of them and such but actually getting to sit down and read your about and then some of hte posts you've made / written for them made me enjoy that character SO much more than I initially did. I'm really excited to do more stuff and flesh these two out.

I wanna keep this brief (graphic design is my passion level effort but also it kinda works in a really funny way) !!! @tealbeats : I know you're not super active on Ez (and I still owe you a lot of stuff actually) but I wanna say I love the amount of his personality you're able to paint into every interaction. You have such a way of making him the perfect amount of insufferable (in the best way) while still twisting it in SUCH an endearing light. I love that annoying little bug and I'm so glad you do too, because it really shows.

@agonizedembrace : Han it's been really nice to reach out and get into contact again. You're genuinely a really funny, interesting, and thoughtful person who cares about Evelynn in such a way that brings out every aspect of her character. The agony, the sex appeal, the sass, the confidence, you just nail all of it and I'm really hoping we can get stuff going soon!

@bendwill : Elder scrolls blogs are few and far between, but Miraak is absolutely one of those characters that deserves to be more written out. We haven't gotten to do a ton but please don't hesitate to hit me up and scream ideas at me, the idea of Tamrielic Zagreus is very fascinating to me. (And also I need somebody to ramble about my Oblivion D&D Campaign ideas with skdfjh)

I also want to say that I'd love to plot more and yell ideas all day with you, your style is gorgeous and I find myself appreciating characters on your blog I've never even heard of or are barely familiar with. Seriously Dani, it's top tier and I'm so happy to be mutuals.

@enrogued : We haven't gotten anything started with but I'm so hyped. Rogue as a character has such fascinating potential with her powers, and that's not to mention her attitude towards others in general. @lunarrepel : Shadowheart my beloved. The aesthetics, writing, dialog, everything you do with her is SO on point and I can't get over it. I was already biased and liked her after Larian adjusted her a bit during the beta phase of BG3 but still. Man you just nail her and I'm so excited to develop these two out. Genuinely fantastic worldbuilding and it's always a pleasure to see you crop up on the dash.

@spiderwarden : I think you officially win the title of Minthara's #1 fan. Her performance (as I've mentioned) is absolutely captivating, as is your writing. I'm very excited to see where her interactions with Zagreus go and writing with you (or even just seeing your random hc posts and comments) is such a blast. I will always sit down and listen to you ramble about her, I think she's so fascinating and that's in no small part to how you manage to inject so much life and love into her despite all the cut content.

Nanowrimo 2022 Is Looming

Anyone else doing nano this year?

I did nanowrimo last year for the first time and found that, challenging as it was, something about my brain responds really well to the structure and deadline of the event. I drafted my first novel, The Afterlife and Other Problems, during last year's event, hitting 50k by the end of the month and finishing the whole initial draft about two weeks after the event ended at around 74k.

At the time, just getting it done felt like a major miracle -- I was reeling from the loss of a really important friendship, desperately burnt out at work, and literally wrote 15 of the 30 days of it at the hospital bedside of my critically-ill father feeling very dark and lonely and lost. (He survived, thank god.)

But writing it? Writing it saved me, I think, at a very bad time. Writing it was fun and exciting and above all, kind of a great distraction, and I went on to revise it over the next six months and came out with a pretty good book.

So, of course, I'm gonna do it again because I'm a glutton for punishment I'm highly motivated. :)

And I've got an idea I'm really excited about. It's funny and deep and weird and I think it's gonna be great, if I can pull it off.

So I'm doing Preptober, right now, where you outline and plot and do writing prompts and figure out enough of a roadmap to get yourself able to sit down every single day in the month of November and pump out 1667 words, more or less. Even though I tend to be a pantser when I write (meaning someone who just wings it without much planning), you have do at least some kind of minimal planning to write this much in a month.

And it's interesting, because I suddenly am seeing how much I've learned over the last year. My approach this time is very different!

For one thing, I seem to have learned something about how to outline. Last year I had maybe three major plot points and a series of possible funny events that would happen in the first third of the book and that was it. This year, I've got a high level, rough, but much more thorough outline of most of the book. (With some holes, sure, but for me this is a TON of information.)

More importantly, I'm finding myself instinctively starting from a whole different perspective. Last year I had maybe a hook and some events, but knew very little about my characters, and this year I'm starting from a very clear idea of who my main character is and what she wants and fears, which is how the writing books always tell you to do it, but honestly until now I've never begun a project that way.

It remains to be seen if this will turn out to be a viable book or not -- but I *love* seeing progress in myself with respect to the craft of writing. I've learned so, so much, since I started drafting Faeted, three years ago, or since I eeked out my first Doctor Who fanfics in 2017.

Return Of The Champ-Roman Reigns

Plot Summary: Roman and Y/N have always continuously flirted with words, and their eyes but never pursued anything. When she returns at the summerslam in Las Vegas for the Smackdown Women's championship....everything changes.

Y/N's P.O.V

The crowd was euphoric as you made your 18 month return from your double ACL injuries. Becky Lynch was the current champion, and the two of you have a short match, and you walk out as champion. The whole crowd chanting your name, and you couldn't stop smiling.

The one person you were nervous to see was Roman. It had been a long time since you had seen him, and you barely got by with his random texts and phone calls. Seeing him would be a different story.

"How bad is it?" Roman asks as he walks into the trainers room.

"It's both knees. Freak accident. I'm going to be out for a while." You look up at him with tears falling down your face. "That's at least a year. What the fuck am I going to do Roman?"

He sits down on the edge of the bed, and takes your hands in his. "You know what you're going to do? You're going to have successful surgeries, heal, and then work to get both of those knees stronger than they were before."

"This is what I get for carrying the women's division on my back. Buckled under the pressure." You tell him, and he smirks at you.

"There she is. That's my girl." He tells you, and stands back up. The silence is deafening between the two of you because you know you won't see him for a long time. "Y/N...I"

"Don't." You shake your head. He sighs, and doesn't say anything else. "I'll see you when I come back, alright?"

He nods, and bends down to press a kiss to the top of your head. "At least text me about the surgery? I need to make sure you're okay."

"Of course." You tell him, and he moves some of your hair behind your ear. "I promise."

"Good." He says, and looks at you once more before leaving the room.

As soon as you make your way to the back you are met with many people congratulating you and hugging you. As you make your way down the line you look up and see Roman's stature, and your breath hitches in your throat. He was dressed in his normal black cargo pants, and his merch shirt. No jimmy or Jey with him, but Paul was.

"Well, if it isn't my favorite champ. Back at it again." He says with a smirk, his eyes going up and down your body. "Knees look like they work again."

You giggle, and look him over. "Wouldn't you like to know." You tease him, and he bites down on his lip.

"Congratulations, and welcome back." He says, and opens his arms for you. As soon as they wrapped around you, you felt safe like you always did in his arms. "I missed you, baby girl." He whispers in your ear, and you hug him tighter.

He pulls away from you, and you can't help but stare at him. "You staying for the rest of the night?" He asks you, and you nod.

"Couldn't miss my favorite champ in action either." You say with a wink, and walk off before he can say anything else.

"Are you nervous?" Roman asks me as you were about to go back for surgery.

"I'll only admit this to you, but yes. I'm terrified." You confess to him. He stares into your eyes, and looks around for anyone that may be looking at them. He gently presses his lips to yours.

"You've got this baby girl. I'll be here when you get out." He tells you, and kisses your forehead.

Roman finally makes his way backstage after the show, and you slowly make your way to his locker room. When he walks inside, he's alone. He looks up at you, and smiles. "Still not used to you being around here again."

"Well, I could always leave. Some people are wanting to buy me a drink anyway." You tease him, and stand up from his couch to stride your way to the door when he cuts you off in front of the door.

"If you think I'm letting you out of my sight after 18 months, you have another thing coming." He says, and you can basically feel the heat radiating off his sweaty, post match body.

"Sounds very stalker-ish, Reigns." You tell him, a smirk on his face as you look down at his chest.

"I don't see you running away." He says, and pushes your hair behind your ear. "You never did run away. Ever."

"I didn't want to." You tell him, looking into his eyes. "Roman, I-" He cuts you off with his lips on yours. His hands hold your face, and rest your hands on his back.

A knock on the door makes him pull away from you. It was Paul. "Sir, Brock and I need you for a few minutes please."

"I'm in the middle of something." He says, sounding irritated. "Can this wait until at least monday?"

"Yeah, we'll call you." Brock tells him, and they leave. He shuts the door again, and turns to face you once more.

"Sorry about that." He says, and walks over to where you had walked.

"It's okay. I know how it is." You tell him, and he smiles at you. "So, did you have any big plans tonight?"

"Not anymore." He says with a smirk. "Do you?"

"I wasn't lying when I said some people wanted to buy me a drink. You want to come with us?"

"I'd love to. As long as I get to sit next to you." He says with a smirk. "Just need to shower real quick. Wait for me?"

"You do stink." You tell him, and he rolls his eyes at you. "I'm kidding! Yes, I'll wait out here."

"Be out in a few." He says, stepping to you to peck your lips. He walks away, and you can't help but to smile at yourself.

It was a small gathering, and you liked it that way. Roman was making it no secret that you two had something going on with the way that he kept touching you all night. Whether it was a hand on the knee or him whispering in your ear, he was all over you.

The group included Seth, Becky, Rhea, Nia, Sasha, Charlotte, and The Usos. Everyone was sitting around the table chatting with one another, and you could feel Becky's eyes on you. She was the only one who really knew about your deep feelings for Roman.

You look over at her, and give her a smile. She smiles back knowingly while Seth and Roman were in a conversation of their own. You lay your head down on Roman's shoulder, and he turns to press a quick kiss the top of it before turning his attention back to Seth.

"You look happy." Becky mouths to you, and you smile, giving her a quick nod.

"Tired baby girl?" Roman asks you, and you nod. "Come on, I'll take you home." He says, and you lift your head off of him to stand up. "Everyone say goodnight to the champ."

After you say goodbye to everyone, Roman follows you out of the building and begins to drive away. You could tell he was nervous by the way he was fidgeting, and drumming his fingers against the steering wheel. "Roman?" You ask him, and he turns to look at you. "Everything okay?"

"I uh, wanted to ask you if maybe you wanted to stay the night with me?" He asks you, and you smile at her nervous he is. "You don't have to. I've just missed you, and we can watch a movie or something."

"That sounds nice." You tell him, and he smiles at you. "I do need to stop by my apartment though. Need to pack a bag."

"Sure." He says, and nods at you. "Pack whatever you need. You can stay as long as you want."

"Don't tell me that." You joke. "I may never want to leave."

He just smirks, and focuses on the road.

You were nervous to be alone with Roman for this long knowing all of those built up emotions would be let loose the moment he were to look or touch you a certain way. Once you got to his house, you jumped in the shower, and put on a pair of shorts, and one of his favorite shirts he had bought you month's back.

He had changed into a pair of black basketball shorts, and of course, no shirt, and was laying on the bed waiting for you. His attention was currently on his phone until he felt the bed dip. You roll over onto your side, and he wraps his arms around you after turning the light off.

"I'm so happy you're back, baby girl." He whispers in your ear, his hand running through your hair. "You have no idea."

"This is the first time we've seen each other since I went home after surgery." You tell him, and he just continues to press kisses all over your shoulder.

"You don't know how many times I considered leaving just to come be with you. But, you would have just told me to get my ass back to work."

"Yes I would have. You're having the run of your life right now. I'm proud of you."

You roll over to bury your face in his chest, and he turns the TV off. Your heart was beating so loud, you could have sworn he heard it.

He pulls the comforter up over the both of you, and it's silent for a moment. You've always felt safe around Roman. You've had so many bad relationships though that you felt like any move you made with him you would screw up.

You scratch lightly at his lower back, and bring one of your legs up to slide in between the two of his. He moves your hair behind your ear, and you move your head back to look at him. "I don't want to lose you." You tell him, and sniffle.

"Why would you lose me, baby girl?" He asks, his voice soft. "I'm right here. I always have been."

"I know." You tell him, and he wipes your tears off your face. "You make me safe, and that terrifies me."

He runs his thumbs over your cheek bones, and you relax into his chest. "There's no secret how I feel about you, Y/N. I'll wait until you're comfortable. I'd never force you into anything."

"I'm tired of thinking about this. It's all I thought about while I was gone. I was afraid you had found someone." You confess, and he let's out a chuckle. "What's funny?"

"You have no idea just how much you mean to me. Do you?" He asks, and you shake your head. "Let's just say, Seth is probably sick of hearing me talk about you."

You smile at him, and he kisses your forehead. "You're obsessed." You joke with him, and he looks in your eyes.

"Absolutely I am." He says, with all seriousness. He then leans forward, and connects your lips together. His soft lips move against yours, and with no interruptions this time, you pull him closer to you.

His hand holds the back of your neck as he kisses you harder. His free hand slides down to grab a hold of your hip. There was no going back now, and you knew that.

You pull away to catch your breath, and rest your forehead against his. "Was that too much?" He asks, and you shake your head. He takes that as invitation to press his lips back to yours, and this time his tongue glides across your bottom lip. You open your lips, and his tongue smashes against yours.

His hand moves from your hip to your leg, and you gasp at the movement. He pulls away, and you move your head to the side hoping that he gets the hint. He does when his mouth then trails down to your jaw, and then down to your neck.

He moves himself to in between your legs, and you let him. As you've wanted this for months. "So beautiful." He mumbles against your skin. You smile, and he notices it when he picks his head back up to kiss your lips once more.

You look into his eyes, and grab his hands as he stays kneeled in between your legs. "What is it baby?" He asks you when the tears fill your eyes.

"I love you, Roman." You finally confess to him. You were nervous for his reaction until he smiles the biggest you've ever seen him smile.

"Oh baby girl. I love you, too. So much. Let me show you." He says, and pushes your shirt up until your breasts were exposed. You sit up to discard of the shirt all together.

Later in the dorm you heard another girls voice as you sat in the kitchen, sharing some Japchae with Jisung. "Hi Hyung!" Jisung screamed happily as he noticed Chan "Hey, that's Jihyun, she's a friend of mine." you both greeted her. She was the perfect height for Chan, her body was lean but still curvy, her hair was not even a little bit damaged but fell perfectly over her shoulders. Her face was even more beautiful then the rest of her. You gulped at her gorgeous sculpture, knowing exactly that you lacked in beauty, at least that's what you thought. He on the other side had a wide grin on his face after this reaction from you, eventhough you already told him you were dating someone.

After hours of deep talks you decided to go get some food from a Convenient store nearby. "Does someone want something from GS25?" he asked in their group chat and got answers right away.

"I wonder why we never spent time before." you said "Eventhough Chan is weird around you, he doesn't like us being around you much." Jisung said "Oh, I didn't knew that" you whispered shocked.

"Was this girl at your dorm before?" you asked him "No, I didn't knew her either." he answered smiling confused "Why are you so interested in her?" you laugh "Oh that, that's a long story." he nod "I have time.". "Jisung, it's just that I'm not confident in myself and the rest is a secret, okay?" you smiled "It's okay that you don't want to tell me everything. We don't know us for a long time, or rather spent a lot of time together." it was weird how much he understood what you thought. "It has to do with my boyfriend. I trust you a lot but I just can't tell that anyone." his smile was stunning, eventhough he seemed somehow hurt.

As you came back to the dorms it was a weird atmosphere around, only noticing why that was so as you entered the kitchen. "Why are you all sitting here?" Jisung asked a little scared "This doesn't mean any good, does it?" Chan laughed and told you to sit down. "It actually isn't bad news at all. It's pretty amazing news." he giggled "Come to the point, we don't have time to listen to your giggles." Minho said causing the member and you laugh. "Okay, I just want to say I didn't told anyone here because I was afraid you were going to leak it but I can't hold back no more. Y/n and I are together." he said making you gasp "You could've warned me!" you whined "Wait-Since when?" Felix asked "Since nine months" Chan answered, still remembering every little detail of this day. "I won guys! I told you they were dating!" Chan raised his eyebrows "You guys are making bets over us? And I thought we were a family?!" he said dramatically resulting in making everyone laugh really hard.

"Let's go" he said to you, pulling you to his room "I thought you were too afraid to tell them?" he smiled "You are more important than that, I'm sorry it took me so long to realise.". You didn't even care about the girl nor the last months anymore as you dreamed too long of this moment to not enjoy it completely now.

Hi! I'm a aspiring author, and I had a few questions. What's your take on planning a story? And how do you get past writer's block. Also, how do you get people to beta your story if there aren't any writing groups around? Last but not least, how do you approach/make friends with authors who are going to be published/have been published. I'd love to break into their group and make lasting friendships that might someday help my own writing career. Thank you for your time! :D

Thanks for asking! I’ll do my best to answer your questions in the order you’ve asked them:

1. Planning a Story

Every author has a unique brain and different areas of strengths and weaknesses, and also every book and every story is different. So the way that I write may not be the right way for you to write, just as the way I wrote my ninth novel was not exactly the same way I wrote any of the previous eight. I know talented and successful writers who meticulously plan out every detail of their plot before they write a word of it, as well as plenty of writers who start with nothing but a blank page and a vague idea of a premise, and feel their way through it scene by scene “discovering” the characters and plot as they go along; I even know a writer who routinely writes four or five completely wrong drafts (and I do mean WRONG – wrong protagonist, wrong POV, stuff you can’t change without completely rewriting the story) before she lands on the right one. So really, the best I can suggest is reading some basic books about storytelling and novel planning, and trying various approaches to see which one works for you.

For me, a story begins with a character, a situation, and an idea of the world or society or time period they live in. Then I have to find the right name to fit that character, and once I’ve done that I start to get a feel for what kind of person they are. I make notes as ideas come to me, write down scraps of dialogue as they pop into my head, and read books about subjects I know are going to come up in the story. But eventually I have to sit down and start writing, or I’m never going to get anywhere. And that’s true for everybody, even for writers who love to outline and research and do all that preparation stuff. Planning is good, but writing is the best way to find the heart of a story and get to know your characters so you can make them come alive for the reader.

2. Writer’s Block

This can be caused by any number of different factors – lack of discipline and perseverance, an insufficiently compelling story idea, a need to do more research/planning/brainstorming to flesh out your original concept, a subconscious awareness that there’s something wrong with the part of the story you’ve already written and that you need to go back and fix it, or simply being too stressed out and exhausted to write effectively (I’ve written a detailed article on this subject which you can check out: Block or Blech?). The trick is diagnosing which of these causes happens to be affecting you, and that can sometimes be a real challenge!

3. Finding beta readers

There are numerous online writing forums with threads to help people find critique partners. Maggie Stiefvater has been offering a yearly find-a-beta thread on her blog for the past few years. If you write fanfic, offer to beta read for someone whose work you like, and see if they’ll beta for you in return. You could also check this list of 40 Places To Find A Critique Partner Who Will Help You Improve Your Writing – it’s 3 years old so some of the links don’t work anymore, but it should give you some ideas of where to start.

4. Making friends with authors

The problem with trying to make friends with authors so they can help you get published is that… well, that’s not really friendship, is it? It’s using people as a means to an end, even if you sincerely mean well and don’t mean to take advantage of anyone. Most published or soon-to-be published authors will politely respond to your questions if they have time, but not invite a closer relationship or an ongoing correspondence unless they have some other, non-writing-related reason to be interested in chatting with you (ie. you’re an expert in some area they need help with for a book they’re writing – but in that case, they probably approached you asking for help, and not the other way around).

As an aspiring author, you don’t really need published author friends to get the help and information you need. You can get it through reading (from books and articles about good writing, and books that are good writing), writing your own stories, getting critiques and using them to revise and improve your work. You can also take writing seminars offered by pro authors and editors, attend writing conferences and workshops, and so on. Writing conferences are also a great place to find critique partners and make friends.

However – and I hate to be a downer but it must be said – you have to be a bit wary of professional authors, agents and editors who show an exceptional amount of interest in you and your work. They may be genuinely nice people who see potential in your storytelling and want to encourage you, but if so, they will relate to you on a professional level and keep the conversation about writing. They won’t touch you or talk to you in ways that make you uncomfortable, or tell you intimate details about their personal life and feelings, or press you to meet them in their hotel room or some other secluded place. Unfortunately there has been a string of recent reports of agents, editors and published authors – mostly male, but some female – who took advantage of the eagerness of aspiring authors in ways that were definitely not professional or appropriate, so I feel like it’s important for aspiring writers to be aware.

Anyway, I think the best (and really only) way to become true friends with an author is to catch them when they’re still at the same or nearly the same stage of their writing career as you are – i.e. still learning their craft and looking for an agent/publisher. You may meet each other at a conference, in a shared online writing group, or on a website like Wattpad where you comment on their stories and they comment on yours. You discover that hey, you and this other person really like the same kinds of things! You end up talking about all the things you have in common, and you become friends. Which will serve you well when one or both of you gets your first agent and/or your first offer from an editor! At that point you’ll be in a position to get to know other published and soon-to-be published authors who can encourage and support you in your journey to your debut… and that’s when you’ll need those kinds of friends the most anyway.

A writer tag thing

I was tagged by @tottwritesfanfic and it’s an excuse to talk about fanfic. Let's do this!

1. How did you come up with your username and what does it mean?

Uh. Um. Since I am an Old, this username has existed since forever, and acquiring it involved a goth themed IRC chat room and some virtual naked table dancing. The Lethe refers to the River of Oblivion in ancient Greek Underworld mythology, because again, I was Very Goth at the time. I'd… I'ma leave it at that.

2. Which fanfic of yours has the most feedback? (bookmarks/subscriptions/hits/kudos).

That'll be Chocolate Hearts. It's not the one with the most hits, because it's not porn, but it's getting there, considering it was only posted in August. That whole fic was such an incredible experience, because I was getting daily feedback from people as I was writing publishing it.

3. What is your AO3 profile icon, and why did you choose it?

It's Shimizu Kiyoko, because I still mostly write Haikyuu, and because she's awesome (and I, too, wish to be awesome).

4. Do you have any regular/favourite commenters?

I'd rather not name names, but I met at least one of my friends through AO3 comments. There's also a commenter whose style I liked so much that I started copying it for comments on other people's work. I absolutely notice when people drop by regularly, and I love every one of those people. I try to follow them back. There are few feelings more rewarding to me as a writer than seeing someone like one of my stories, and then go through the other ones I wrote for that fandom.

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

I don't regularly re-read fics, because I have enough trouble keeping up with fiction I feel like I *should* be reading. In that sense, the ones I keep going back to are the long ones I'm subscribed to. Bell, book and candle is my go-to plane fic for when I'm travelling, for instance. It's a 1k page pdf on my phone and I try to go back and comment on the chapters I finished when I get to a computer (or like three months later, most likely).

6. How many stories are you subscribed to? How many do you have bookmarked?

*Opens statistics page* I don't so much subscribe to stories, as I do to people. And I'm apparently subscribed to 22 people. I have 33 bookmarks, but that's mostly because sometimes I'll go back through my history and bookmarks stuff that I still like a few months later.

7. Which AU do you find yourself writing the most?

Urban fantasy. That seems to be the AU where my mind goes into every single direction and comes back with 60k worth of words every time. Also, a disproportionate amount of characters in my fics end up being bakers or baristas. So, uh, make of that what you will.

8. How many people are subscribed and bookmarked to you in total? (you can view this on the stats page)

Um, I have 36 user subscriptions. 299 bookmarks. And 117 subscriptions to various fics.

9. Is there something you’d like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)

Well, there's always stuff you come up with that maybe shouldn't be put to paper. When it comes to very self-indulgent, or very smutty, I try to stay my hand. I struggled a long time with whether or not I should publish any smut at all, because I don't want like… my colleagues to find it. What I ended up with, was several fail safes, and the promise to myself that I would only write… acceptable smut (so no werewolf orgies for you! not that I, uh, would write them otherwise).

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at? Writing certain scenes or genres, replying to comments, updating better, etc.

So, uh, the very specific reason I started writing smut at all, was because that is the hardest thing to do. For me. Sex is, a lot of the time, awkward and funny and feely and there's a lot of emotions and actions going on, and I very specifically do not want to write lifeless mechanical porn sex. Because that's not what I'm here for. But that's difficult. I write to have the kind of stuff I want to Read, and I'm very friggin picky when it comes to smut, so it takes me longer to write 1k of smut than it does to write 20k of teen rated fluff. I wish I was better on that front.

11. Do you write rarepairs or popular ships more often?

It's a mixed bag. I'm pretty sure me and @leeva-art are the pioneers of all ShinToko content. And I did that whole SugaTen one. Looking through the list, I actually did a fair amount of rarepair shorts. I kinda like writing rarepairs because there's a lot more of the dynamic for me to explore. But I'm currently writing a series full of popular ships (YamaYachi, DaiSuga, KageHina, IwaOi), because sometimes, those are popular for a reason. To be honest, I think the ship I write most is 'x reader', and I'm fairly certain that's an under-reported popular ship.

12. How many stories have you posted on AO3 to this day (finished and unfinished)?

I have 21 works on AO3 in total. All of those are finished one-shots or multichapters, except the one I'm currently working on. Yes, I'm proud of this :P.

13. How many stories do you have saved in/with your writing program?

Oh god. So apart from the current multichapter one I have… one longish romance story that's been gathering dust for two years (The Aomine. I swear I will finish it one day), and… about four smut shorts in various states of unfinished-ness. And an Aizawa short that is like smut in the sense that it's a lot of action and feels and I'm Struggling.

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

I do both. I'm a bit of a daydreamer, so I like to play ideas and scenarios in my head for a while, and then I jot them down when they've grown enough. But I'm also a talker, and anyone who has chatted with me for any length of time probably knows that an Idea can take root in a convo and I basically talk it out and two months later there's a massive fic brewing. My brain is an overexcited puppy.

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?

Nope. It's not that I don't want to, I'm just not sure how that would work practically.

16. How did you discover AO3?

It's all Rin's fault. I pretty much only got into fanfic after watching Free! and discovering the joys of tumblr. Fairly certain I discovered AO3 while looking for Quality SouRin.

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author in your fandom(s) on AO3?

Ahahahaha…no.

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

That would be weird? I'm not Lady Gaga.

19. Was there an author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

I've been writing since I was a little girl. So the first stories I wrote were probably inspired by that one teacher I had when I was eight, that kept saying I was good at this. But I remember in my teens, wanting to write like Anthony Horowitz, and later like Terry Prattchett, or Douglas Adams. As for writing fanfic, that is the fault of Aleramicci and A Shadow so Great. That was the first time I saw someone take that level of world building and lore creation and character development, and spin it into this… epic tale. Because I have always imagined scenarios and characters in my day dreams, I was creating alternate endings for the Three Musketeers at 13, but I didn't think anyone else was willing to read them. I thought fanfic was, well, smut. And she showed me that you can create worlds out of nearly nothing (please remember that 2014 League of Legends Lore was total shit), and do it Well, and write it well, and… ugh.

20. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

Ok, where's that meme. I think the main thing is… just do it. You've got stories, you write them. But know that it is work. Like every hobby, it takes time, it takes energy and effort. You need to Make that Time. Very few people can sit down and just have the words flow out of their fingers. For most, it's Work. Once you know that, and you make the conscious decision to do the work, you can get shit done.

21. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

I try to plot up to a certain level but I leave room for a lot of improv. Like especially for longer fics, I'll have a vague idea of where the characters end up and what needs to happen for the finale to… happen. The actual scenes aren't plotted though. I write better when I just let the scene take me where it wants to go. I've learned a lot from the Lock, the Key and the Sacrifice, in that it was my first Very Long multichaptered fic and it was Mostly Improvised. This meant that some character development got lost, and that I had to write myself out of some weird situations but also, some of the best scenes in that fic are complete bursts of random inspiration. Since then, I've gotten a bit more organized. I use OneNote to jot down 'spur of the moment' scenes to slot into stories later, and to make time lines and character profiles and all that. The actual fic is still me opening the Word doc and going 'ok, it's day six in this story, what should happen today'.

22. Have you ever gotten a bad comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

I don't think so? AO3 readers are very nice and disciplined, I think. Either that or I've been very lucky. All I've gotten were a few comments that left me flustered, mostly along the lines of 'when are you updating', when I keep a very tight schedule. That sort of thing. I just leave those be.

23. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, smut, etc..)

See above: smut.

24. What story(s) are you working on now?

Currently, My Girlfriend is a Goddess?!, which is a fantasy exchange gift that ballooned into a very long, multichapter and possibly trilogy book type thing.

25. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

The Plan is to finish book one of My Girlfriend is a Goddess?! (the YamaYachi, aka the actual exchange gift), then take a break for some one-shots and whatnot, and then continue to book two (the DaiSuga one). So yes, I do try to stay somewhat disciplined. This isn't to say that inspiration can't strike like a vengeful god and I have to rearrange the whole thing. Chocolate Hearts happened while I was trying to work on the TenSuga, and it got written in like a month of furious typing. Shit just happens, man.

26. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

No. I have a very unstable work schedule, and sometimes I'm just tired. I try to get certain chapters finished on a weekly basis though. I learned with NaNo that when I try to write too much in one go, the output is also not that great. I need to write, and then do a whole bunch of editing, and then write again.

27. Do you think you’ve improved as a writer since you first started?

Things are certainly going smoother now than they did two years ago. It's a certain… confidence? I think? A rhythm you get into. I got wordier, too. Not sure if that's a good thing.

28. What is your favorite story that you’ve written?

This is hard. That is a hard question. For the longest time, my fave story was Balance. But if I read it now, it does show its age. So I'm going to say The lock, the key and the sacrifice. I will always be super proud of that, because that's my first and currently only 'book' and I worked a year and a half on it. Not every part of it is amazing, but there's some Pretty Good Parts and I just felt such an immense relief and… satisfaction on finishing it.

29. What is your least favorite story that you’ve written?

One of the first things I published was an Iwaizumi smut short. It's… ok, but it has some issues that I would iron out if I were to write it again.

30. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

When I was little I had this Plan to write a bestseller and sell it to Hollywood and then buy a castle in Scotland and basically be JK Rowling, but I sincerely doubt that's going to happen. Goals, tho.

31. What is the easiest thing about writing?

Coming up with random shit that blossoms into big, huge ideas and worlds and complicated plot lines. Like… that happens without me trying.

32. What is the hardest thing about writing?

The bit where you sit down to write through a part you've been struggling with. Those few paragraphs that you need to connect scene A and scene B, for it to make logical sense.

33. Why do you write?

Because I like it. Because I enjoy building worlds and scenes and characters, and sharing them. Because like all kinds of creative work, it has gained me relationships and connections to people I resonate with. Also, ngl, for the kudos and the comments. I get a lot of joy from seeing people enjoying my work.

Just some basic stuff:

Blaine is gay. I will not ship him with women, or put him in any sexual/romantic situation with a woman (unless we discussed something otherwise). Don’t let that scare you off from plotting with me, though! I’m more than happy to roleplay with female muses, and even if they are in to him, that could make for an incredibly interesting plot. Blaine just won’t be attracted to them in return.

This is a semi-selective roleplay blog. I reserve the right to choose who I roleplay with and when I answer.

I’m open to roleplay with OCs or characters from different fandoms. This is a crossover account, after all, and Blaine is so out-of-character that he might as well be an OC himself.

I’m not very picky with who I ship Blaine with, when it comes to male characters. The relationships themselves can be as unhealthy and toxic as you please. Also, age-differences are irrelevant.

Both the mun and muse are of legal age. I will roleplay with underage muns, but I would rather not roleplay smut with you if you are under eighteen. The reason for this should be clear enough.

I’m fine with doing threads in which our muses already know each other. I know how awkward it can be when you send an ask that’s replied to with “Who on earth are you?” That won’t happen here. Unless you wanted to.

Daniel Anderson was the youngest of six children born into a wealthy Irish family, moved to the United States in his twenties to set up his own life and escape the suffocating atmosphere of his old household (while still making use of his share of his parent’s money, of course). He was a very devoted Catholic, and wrote mystery novels with his free time - they never did make it to publication. He came across as cold and unapproachable, caused both by his own, personal, emotional issues, and a deep, internalized idea of what a man should be that was far heavier than the weight of the Anderson family’s legacy. He married young, to the youngest daughter of another rich family, Amara Canton. They didn’t like each other at all, despite having a son together, and argued constantly until they finally divorced. Daniel met his second and last wife about a year later, and together they had another child.

Gabrielle Mendoza was a third generation Filipino-Americam who had music running through her veins. She had the voice of an angel, and taught Blaine every instrument he knows how to play. She met Blaine’s father when she was twenty-seven and he was thirty-four; he’d recently divorced a woman whom he’d married solely for his family’s benefit and with whom he already had a five year old son, Cooper. Daniel fell in love with Gabrielle almost immediately. She was unconditionally kind and caring, even when Daniel seemed stiff and cold. She did what no other person had ever managed to do for him - she made him softer.

They were married in little less than a year of meeting each other, and Blaine was born within another.

Blaine was born on April 15th, 1992. His mother had always described him as ‘a tiny man with big dreams’ - tiny, meaning a five year old boy in a ridiculous bow-tie, dancing with his mom in the warm sitting room that served as their ballroom. Music was always something that he loved, and came as naturally to him as breathing. Of course, his father had certain opinions about his son’s passion, but Gabrielle would never let him rob Blaine of the one thing in the world that never failed to make him happy. (Besides, his father loved seeing him that way)

Trouble came to Blaine in the form of his brother. Cooper didn’t like Blaine, and he despised Gabrielle. He even held a particular distaste toward their shared father, a remarkable amount of anger for a ten year old boy. The adults tried not to take it personally, and blamed it on grief - his mother had died, after all, not long after divorcing his father. It was understandable that he would be bitter over someone else’s happiness during such a dark part of his life. Blaine, however, couldn’t have understood that, and couldn’t help but think that he’d - at three years old - done something horribly wrong to ruin Cooper’s life.

It wasn’t difficult to see why Blaine would believe such a thing. Cooper was mean - he was unjustly cruel and clever enough to disguise it. He bullied Blaine in secret for most of their young lives, knowing exactly how to manipulate his little brother into believing that it wasn’t really bullying, Cooper was just teaching him a lesson, Cooper was just making him a stronger person, Cooper was just punishing him for messing up that one dance move that he should’ve gotten right on the first try-

Blaine quickly began to hold resentment toward something that he’d once been passionate about. Nothing he did seemed to be right, or good enough, and the stressful need to be perfect trumped his enjoyment. Pleasure had turned into a source of distress - and it would stay that way for a long time.

There was a short period of freedom when Cooper went off to college - if it could be called freedom. The derogatory thoughts about himself that had been drilled into him still haunted Blaine, but he could focus his perfectionism on other things, now. With Cooper out of the picture, at least, Blaine had some control over his own life.

That all ended once Blaine turned fifteen and Cooper returned home. Blaine was at the peak of puberty and his body had a mind of it’s own. Cooper, being the kind of person that he was, took advantage of this. Blaine saw it as Cooper finally liking him - or, hopefully, loving him. For Blaine, the unhealthy charade between them was him finally being accepted and wanted by his big brother.

For Cooper, it was the perfect way to hurt his little brother.

Their ‘relationship’ was a one-sided attraction laced with manipulation and abuse - both physical and emotional. Cooper hated Blaine; in his eyes, Blaine was symbolic of everything that had ever gone wrong in his life, and the perfect means-to-an-end of his lifelong, misguided quest for vengeance.

Very simply, Cooper wanted to hurt Blaine. And that’s exactly what he did.

Blaine’s parents were both murdered a year after Blaine and Cooper’s relationship began. Cooper had left (he was always leaving for extended periods of time, during which Blaine’s mood usually took a turn for the worse. That was probably why) and the next time Blaine saw him, he was standing over their parents’ bodies. He didn’t know it was Cooper, of course. Not until much later on.

After their deaths, Cooper left, and never contacted Blaine again.

Blaine’s last year of high school was a blur. His family’s now-empty house was suffocating him. His country was suffocating him. He needed to get out, and college was his opportunity to do just that. Luckily, his stressful but successful high school career paid off, and he was accepted to a prestigious art school in London. He lasted there for less than two years before dropping out.

Grief was a difficult thing to work with. Mixed with trauma of every shape and size, Blaine was barely able to function at all.

How Moriarty became interested in him, Blaine would never figure out. At the time, he was just a whore. A resourceful whore, who knew how to get what he wanted, but anyone could

Nonetheless, Blaine was contacted on his website (which he still refuses to discuss, because it contains some very old, very exposing photos of his barely nineteen-year old self) by the king of crime, looking for a whore.

Foolishly, Blaine agreed to meet with him.

Surprisingly enough, Blaine wasn’t contacted just to be fucked - at least, not just by Moriarty. He proved himself to be a useful tool when it came to getting information out of people, without the mess that forcing it out of them would result in.

But why had he chosen Blaine? There were plenty of other sex workers throughout London, more talented and popular and charming than he was…

Inevitably, Blaine stopped torturing himself over such things. Instead, he did something even worse to himself - he fell in love.

Jim Moriarty was, arguably, one of the most dangerous men in the world. Falling in love with him was probably the most idiotic thing Blaine had ever done. At the same time, what little seemingly-genuine affection that was given to him was also more than anything he’d ever experienced before. Perhaps it was all part of Moriarty’s ‘plan’, or maybe it was his own mistake (doubtfully), or maybe he the feelings he showed were genuine (even less likely), but whatever it was, it worked. Blaine was hooked.

Of course, that meant he was loyal to a fault. Especially since, alongside his romantic feelings, Blaine had quite a bit of fear. Once again, Moriarty was one of the most dangerous people in the world, and his violent outbursts made no exceptions for Blaine if he was irritated or not.

Whatever there was between them, it was made very clear that Blaine was expendable.

That was no surprise.

Aaaand also a crap ton of demon!Blaine stuff in case he interests you as well–

Incubi (Mun’s Interpretation):

Succubi and incubi are demons that feed off of orgasmic energy, created soley to please other demons, although it isn’t uncommon for them to feed off of humans as well. It’s rumored that the first succubae and incubi were fallen angels or nephilim, but only the more superstitious of the bunch (like Blaine) believe in this.

According to most sources, any succubus demon is also an incubus demon, and vice versa. Their title depends strictly on which gender they present as. An incubus demon would only “become” a succubus demon if they wanted to reproduce (which, thanks to handy demonologists like Sebastien Michaelis, I get to give you a ridiculously detailed step-by-step guide for.) In their succubus form, they would “collect” (ewugh) a human man’s sperm, and in their incubus form would “transfer” that sperm to a human female and impregnate her. Most sources agree with this, although a few mention that an incubus and succubus can also have a child together. Either way, the child produced is called a Cambion. There’s not much information on them, so let’s just say that they’re baby demons that later become either an inbcubus or succubus, determining their presenting gender once they’re of age and their “powers” appear.

Since incubi are also sometimes referred to as ‘fauns’, their demonic forms most likely have goat or deer aspects, such as horns or antlers, and equine legs. Rarely, they may also take the form of a ball of light (very similar to a will o’ the wisp). This only happens if an incubus desperately needs to burn off extra energy or needs to lure in new sources of it, and not all incubi know how to assume this form. Blaine doesn’t.

Sex demons feed off of the sexual energy of other people, but they don’t need to orgasm in order to feed. The process doesn’t harm other demons, but can harm humans, but this heavily depends on the demon that is feeding off of them. More powerful demons can feed off of humans in their dreams, but this is a rare talent.

An incubus’ body or form changes depending on how much energy they’ve consumed. As mentioned earlier, some can turn into a ball of light, but the body of every incubus and succubus has its temperature change. To put it simply, an excess of energy makes their body cold, while a lack of it makes their body warm, in order to be either alluring or repelling. If an incubus has too much or too little energy, their bodies can turn into dust, and they die. The obvious solution to a lack of energy is by feeding off of someone’s energy, but to cope with too much of it, most incubi will find another incubus or succubus to have sex with. Since they can’t produce energy on their own, feeding off of each others acquired energy evens everything out. This would suck if two of them wanted to be in a relationship, but their biological needs make monogamy nearly impossible, and none of them really have a desire for that kind of relationship. Often, outside of the harems kept by Hell’s royalty, incubi and succubae prefer polyamorous relationships instead.

Blaine:

Blaine presents primarily as an incubus, and rarely takes on his succubus form. He doesn’t really need or want to (he has no desire to reproduce, at all). He’s not the most powerful incubus, but he does have more status than some of the strongest, since he’s got two masters, one of which is the king of Hell (not necessarily Supernatural’s Crowley, but it can be) and another who is stronger than all of Hell’s heirarchy put together (my confusing au Jim Moriarty).

Blaine was born as a Cambion, the offspring of an unknown demon parent and his unknowing human mother, Gabrielle. He was raised as a boy because of mankind’s gender-binary thing (this is the case with a lot of Cambion children), and that stuck with him even after he discovered that he was a demon, when he turned eighteen and Moriarty sought after him. That was a long time ago, and he’s still very comfortable in his incubus form. In a way, he got lucky.

Despite his weakness as a demon, Blaine is still much stronger than any human, and smarter than most demons, which makes him an excellent spy. That’s the purpose he serves for Moriarty, who he considers his true master, and he’s unconditionally loyal. Blaine practically worships him, despite not being able to be intimate with him, since his power is so much that Blaine would turn into dust by even being too close to him during sex. As for Crowley, Blaine doesn’t mind him much, even if he feigns dislike towards him to please his true master; he’s not a terrible owner. A bit sadistic, unsurprisingly, but not terrible. (Or maybe Blaine is just very easily wooed)
