I'm Larry. I'm the Gym Leader of Medali Gym. I'm also a member of the Elite Four of Paldea. Apparently, social media is becoming pervasive enough that my boss thinks I need to have an account, so I made one. I have 11 Pokemon.
Komala, her name is Margaret
Dudunsparce, her name is Henrietta
Another Dudunsparce, his name is Harold
Staraptor, his name is Gary
Tropius, his name is Daniel
Oricorio, her name is Olivia
Altaria, her name is Anna
Flamigo, his name is Robert
Oinkologne, her name is Maria
Braviary, his name is Thomas
Galarian Zigzagoon, his name is George
That's it, thanks

PokemonIRL RP blog, basically. This is a sideblog and I follow from @/windtraces. Fionn or Sleepyhead work for names, they/he pronouns, 23 years old.
Basic DNI applies (proship, bigot, you know the drill). I'll just block if I'm uncomfortable. Outside of that, I'm fine interacting with just about anyone, I'm just shy
I'm extremely tempted to keep the default icon, theme, colors, etc as a joke.

If you could split yourself in half, the way Danny became Fun Danny and Super Danny in "Identity Crisis", what would the result be? Do you have a Fun You and a Super You? Or an FOP you and a BiaB you? (On a related note, do you prefer Fun Danny or Super Danny as a character?)
Pal, I’ve been split in half since the beginning of time. This scenario is exactly why I have dual fursonas. Riddle may have retired from being my official one, but he still represents half of my brain.
Tumblr media
I’m suddenly tempted to redraw this now that it’s been two years
I’m one of those people who’s very friendly, but doesn’t like to be a bother. I typically wait for others to reach out to me… For example, by allowing you guys to send me Asks on this blog.
However, I am by no means a pushover. Although I don’t like to overstep my boundaries, I will rise to the occasion if given the authority to do so. For example, a couple years ago, my aunt was hosting a birthday party for her four-year-old. One mom who didn’t RSVP showed up not only with the kid who knew the four-year-old, but with that kid’s wild older siblings, and then left. My aunt was struggling to keep things flowing smoothly, so I saw the chance and took it. I love being in charge, and having all those little kids listening to me was a delight. My aunts later said they had “never seen me this way before”. Well, that’s because they never had to! They never asked!
Fun Fact: This story is the inspiration for “Jaime: Underpaid Babysitter”, and several details such as “We don’t have enough forks, so make sure everyone saves their macaroni fork for cake” were indeed taken from the actual event!
My default personality is to be in charge. However, as much as I crave being in charge, I’m aware that others may want to be in charge too, so I’m constantly living a life of restraining myself (You may notice that when I blog, I add lots of qualifiers such as “kind of”, “seems to”, and “probably” to my thoughts. Yeah, that’s not my natural dialogue style. That’s all sprinkled in there for deliberate effect. You’re victims of a classic psychological trick I employ (confirmation bias) to win your trust. Sorry! I’m a snake).
So where do we break this down? Riddle is the embodiment of my serious side. He’s meticulous, deadpan, quiet, conforming, and even when he gets excited, he normally expresses little emotion. He always tries to be respectful and is extremely devoted to tasks even after being overthown stepping down from his fursona duties. Riddle’s the guy who believes in staying on task and acting calm and professionally in all situations.
He’s basically the side of me that comes out when it’s time to do the actual work involved in writing, like designing round characters and doing most of the worldbuilding stuff. In fact, he’s the part of me that just thinks about working constantly. Riddle would be Super Danny and, in a way, “he” is the one who carefully crafts the FOP worldbuilding for my ‘fics. He’s my practical self who’s always trying to keep Kima in line.
Kima represents my playful half, which is why this Tumblr (FountainPenguin) is named after her, as opposed to my deviantArt, where I’m generally more serious and which is still named after Riddle. The Riddle part of me is the reason I come off as curt in many social situations, but Kima is what you get if you skip the small talk and the tiptoeing on eggshells and instead jump straight into treating me like a friend and babbling about shared interests with me.
Riddle is responsible, but Kima’s here because she loves what she does. She’s the part of me that sacrifices sleep when she’s in the creative flow, quotes her own jokes and giggles to herself all day, gets twitterpated by excellent punctuation, likes to enthuse about fandoms, and will ramble on forever if you let her (she is EASILY the half of me constantly snorting with amusement at BIaB, and rewinding scenes over and over to smile at characters’ expressions and body language).
So when I get excited about cartoons on this blog and spam you with lots of screenshots or babble about why I thought this or that detail was really cool, that’s my Kima side coming out! Curiously, Riddle is the easy-going one, whereas it’s Kima who’s more persnickety. Probably because Riddle works hard not to step on anyone’s toes, and Kima embodies my pride and owns it. In fact, she’s very blunt and most definitely not subtle. She also hates to be yelled at.
Because Kima’s more social and seems “out of character” to those who know me offline, it’s a running joke that she suffers from “self-awareness syndrome”, and even though she’s supposed to be my fursona, she sometimes can’t hold a straight face when representing me, and breaks character by dissolving in giggles. That’s why we have gold-eyed Kima (me) and green-eyed Kima (her as a character)! She loves almost everything and everybody- she only pretends she doesn’t because it’s her job and we pay her to act otherwise.
Although Kima’s the sona my Tumblr is named after, I’ve been called Riddle for so many years now that it’s kinda the way I like to be addressed online.
Basically, Riddle’s the one who says, “We’re allowed to wear pajamas when we stay home all day”, and Kima’s the one who says, “Fine, but realize we’ll have to shower at some point.” Then Kima says, “I’m going to eat this entire pot of macaroni by myself”, and Riddle says, “Okay, but let’s not make this a habit”.
So, they’re the two halves of me, but they’re not so different at their cores. Neither has their feelings easily hurt, both prefer working to sitting around and not working, they don’t sweat the small stuff, each would say their biggest fear is going blind, and neither likes feeling that their efforts have gone to waste. Both suffer from the Deadly Sin of Envy and are cursed with green eyes until I feel I’ve successfully overcome that hurdle in my life. They’ll each earn their “real” eye colors if that ever happens.
When you boil down to it, I guess the two extremes of my personality are “friendly egomaniac” and “hardworking recluse”. That sounds about right. In a sense, they’re “Write drunk, edit sober” personified.
(Don’t tell them, but I like Super Danny the most.)
