Multiple pictures and video of Louis from out by the recording studio a few days ago were posted, HAPPY DAYS! This (the fans gathered getting pics with him) would be the fuss the man saw out his window (that we saw in his out the window pics) before he popped out to get in on the picture-taking action, it’s no wonder he recognized Louis; I’m guessing the fan crew followed the usual strategy of waiting until he wasn’t going to be at whatever location every day anymore to publish and that’s why we got them now rather than when they were taken. Anyway; pictures and video of Louis! He’s cute, he’s Louis, it’s wonderful to see him and even better to hear him! And there were pictures of him in red from a different day as well that win for cutest probably, him and the fan flipping off the camera together is excellent, and she got to tell him her story of how Just Hold On saved her life and show him the JHO tattoo she got to commemorate, also wonderful. LT Tour added a festival show for September 22 in Italy, presale starting today

Niall said if he gets bumped up 185 slots in his spotify ranking he’ll do a dance half naked (haha is the ‘half’ because he’s hedging his bets in case it actually happens?) on tiktok, and he and Anne Marie posted more behind the scenes pics from the music video shoot, but where’s the bts video? I don’t know, but I do know where Niall is-- LA! I mean we already knew that but it was confirmed when a fan took video of him out for a hike today.

Liam’s Lonely Bug promo is really kicking into high gear with all the creators posting talking about it and clearly press releases went out cause there were a bunch of articles- Lonely Bug is of course his semi-autobiographical animated NFT, or to quote the press, “the artwork... is aiming to reflect the childlike state that many people returned to during the pandemic, [and] is multimedia with music from DJ Zedd, animation from Gabe Damast and spoken word from Gary Vee.” Also it is apparently actually a series of NFTs rather than just one, so yeah, that clears it all right up for anyone who’s still confused right?! Haha. Anyway we got a first look at the title character based on Liam’s art today. And there’s more! Steven Bartlett (entrepreneur, guy Liam flirted with for 90 minutes while spilling his guts the other day) says that as part of the NFT launch there will be a dinner in Las Vegas with him and “crypto celebrities” Mike Novogratz (another entrepreneur), Brendan Blumer (this guy’s wikipedia genuinely just says ‘entrepreneur’), 3LAU (DJ! And also entrepreneur), Christian Angermayer (‘entrepreneur investor’), NFT dealers Duncan and Griffin Cockfoster (...can you guess? Yep they are also entrepreneurs), Paris Hilton (she is selling NFTs of her own, so yes indeed; she’s an entrepreneur now too), and Liam, so if Liam is enough to make that actually sound appealing to you rather than like the seventh circle of actual hell, all you have to do is be a winning bidder for one of Liam’s NFTs and you will get to not only “own” the digital artwork but also attend that dinner.

Liam also liked a tweet wondering whether the reason he liked the Ron’s Gone Wrong movie page was that it was the movie he had mentioned last year writing a song for, ALL RIGHT THEN. Confirmed, I guess! And he posted a video (with his newly shaved eyebrow slash and diamond necklaces on) where he said he rolled his knee in jujitsu today, oh nooo. Meanwhile his discord broke out into ugly arguing over new fandom names (the long list of rules forbid mention of so many hot topics, such as shipping of any kind, but you just can’t stop fans from fighting); Liam commenting on the thread being shut down, “too much passion.” Well, he’s not wrong! Paynedora’s Box indeed- I told ya, full of demons.

Today in MP filming, there were cupcakes with the director’s face on them (this shoot is really into little cakes huh, love that for them), plus someone from the set said blurry tiny pics they posted and said were Harry waving weren’t Harry they were just fucking with people. Wow you...really showed us? I guess?? The yellow shorts pics were really him though! Gucci posted some old pics from the fragrance campaign.

the thin yellow strip in the sole lights up and flashes all kinds of colors when u walk around lol. its very obnoxious and is easily my favorite fashion purchase of all time

10. do you own any signed books/memorabilia in general?

just one - a tight gray t-shirt that shonen knife signed for me when they came to do a show at my college. they signed it while i was still wearing it!! it was pretty hot. i’ve worn the shirt a buncha times since then but have never washed it. it smells pretty much how one would imagine.

15. what coffee drink would you describe yourself as?

one of those iced vietnamese coffees with a lot of evaporated milk. i think i come across as fun, sweet and chill but am actually quite an intense person haha

20. do you match your socks?

used to never bother but now i do. granted, i used to have such ugly-ass socks it scarcely made a difference whether i matched them or not

25. puzzles?

absolutely. they have to look cute though. right now my favorite puzzle game is baba is you. i like the jigsaw kind also but they take up too much space in my room

30. where could someone find you in a museum?

definitely in one of those like, immersive multimedia installation art rooms. i love stuff like that

Going Paperless

Let’s have a quick recap on what we could think of when we hear about these words, computer… (to be fair I didn’t think of a calculator), notes, books, or even food delivery(haha, I may be hungry) . All becomes simple ,cause in my mind those are all just one tap away from being done. Even the word cellular drastically directs my brain to the phone; while in fact the word refers to composition and micro-levels of definition, and here i am giving off that whatever-it-is-i’m-still-holding-my-phone look. It is literally something we didn’t care about ,like hell yeah, I’ll be biased as can be. See how unfair it is in the littlest ways?

Every now and then , there’s always something that redefines and aims to rediscover our pragmatic views. From time to time to time… we become officially ingested by the system(I just invented that terminology, like yeah we are being part of an apocalypse or whatever) from morning to night this is what people especially teenagers face and this is making it more risky .Teenagers are most vulnerable , indecisive. Think of it as though straightening life and there’s this notch that could slip back down or go up anytime, that’s being a teenager. Having this lifestyle nowadays doesn’t only talk about our views, variety is the spice of social media the reason why you cant get enough of it. This also means, dealing with exposure( Sure is lovely but one mistake is a mistake ) and getting ready to witness the extent of your management for some auto-mind battles trying to understand and investigate a lot more issues than you thought you would. Self-destruction is a must here in building that girl!

although it all sounds so critical and is actually devious, there are some ways to become responsible , indestructible and smart in this paperless world.

1. Know who you are

No matter how much we deny it, social media gives way for us to peek through others lives. You sure can sugar coat that and tell everyone else that you’re establishing connection, yeah keeping up and being accessible to family  and friends is what its all about. But it never all cupcakes and rainbows, cause no matter how much you try to fight it , you are subjected to keep on knowing more of others and less of you. You’ll go on and try to see the best and think yourself worst, again, it can provide and attract some room for improvement but too much deprivation can just make you obsessed. YOU are your own enemy, and you must remember that you don’t need social media to be reminded on how beautiful you can be.

2. Be with the world

Social media is designed too make you feel a different diaspora and being without it would automatically compose boredom in your face. Like even when you gotta mind something about your life without it for a minute (you still make sure the other twenty-three hours and fifty-nine minutes are on track) I totally understand that it is designed to tame you from emotional to psychological responses.

Dr. Srikumar Kao attributes mindfulness above multitasking as a step to achieving a healthy and happy environment, so we need to hand in ourselves a bit to breathe in and preserve our sense of self worth. We can go beyond virtual comments and say a genuine “Wow!” on the things around us where our eyes truly meet.

3. Spare your time

Just like your exes or partners, lets just say pets to compensate in my singleness, social media can be more demanding like WTF?!(that’ s Welcome to Facebook BTW).The calls and pop ups come in crazy from time to time. Like, yeah sure that’s a news feed and each time again it throws you out to no.1 and 2. Anything in excess is dangerous, and i’ll let go of this phrase to assure you that your account wouldn’t run and the likes and comments won’t change the value of your post. The cursor is in your hands, try to relax and have a sip of reality sometimes *winks*.

4. Always,and I mean ALWAYS keep safe

When you post about something , always consider your audience .Try to apply some anticipation , just see what might happen on anything you share. Sharing is good but some people do not know because they’re meant not to. Ranting is also fine at some point but watch your language and know what you really need(take note, its need not want) to say. 

Social media is indeed complicated ye? I know you got this, you hold the keyboard now and feel free to express yourself. I know its not easy and in this world ,it can never be perfect; All you have to do is be true and honest to yourself for the world to follow.( And also be nice ‘cause there’s so many reason to be,even if we’re in this paperless and happy multimedia world)

issue two announcements + a quick poll!

Hello, everyone! A very important post containing definitive details about issue two of stars aligned! 

We will be accepting multimedia work in issue two! This includes edits (gifsets, moodboards, etc), music (like covers, original songs), videos (using canon clips or graphics), cosplay, etc! We want to encourage whatever creative outlets you have and not be exclusive to writing and art.

Merchandise (like charms, stickers, etc) will be made available — as per the wishes of the creators in the zine. Last issue, we last minute threw in a bonus of postcards without ambition for other goodies, but this time, we have much more time to make this issue super special!

Most importantly, however, is that we want to ask you all to vote on two items:

whether or not we should continue with an open submission process or if we should switch to an application process

whether or not we should have a predetermined theme for the zine

There are pros and cons for each choice, and we hope that you help us make the ultimate decision for issue two. We want to allow you to make the most informed selection, and so we include more information below the read more, and as always, we encourage you to ask questions if there are any.

The link to vote is below, and this poll will be open until February 11, 2017 at 11:59 pm EST. We’ll inform you of the final decision shortly after.

re: open submission or application process

briefly, the definitions:

With an “open submission” process, we accept complete work from the first day that the submission period is open (February 15) to when the submission period is closed (May 14, 11:59 pm EST). 

With an “application” process, we will be accepting applications to be a part of the zine starting February 15 (you would only need to provide a profile of your work), closing applications on February 28, 11:59 pm EST, selecting creators on March 1, and then allowing the selected creators to work on their pieces until the deadline of May 14, 11:59 pm EST. 

note that in both processes, the timelines will be approximately the same:

if open submissions:

february 15 - submissions open may 14, 11:59 pm EST - submissions closed may 15 - content selection; creators notified may 21, 11:59 pm EST - final edits to selected content due may 30 - pre-order available; preview available

if using applications:

february 15 - application open feburary 28, 11:59 pm EST - application closed march 1 - creators selected; assignments given april 15 - progress note due may 14,11:59 pm EST - content due may 30 - pre-order available; preview available

brief write up:

The first issue of the zine was an open submission process, a decision that we made in part because of our short timeline (we wanted to publish an issue before season two was released) but mostly because we wanted to allow creators — regardless of how well-established their art/writing profile — the opportunity to be a part of the zine. We wanted to go into the selection process as without as much bias as possible, and thereby organized our submission process after how literary/art magazines typically run their processes. We had our doubts, but honestly, the open submission process was probably the best decision we made. We had a lot of submissions and a lot of good content — and we were able to shine light on talent from creators that might have not submitted if we were screening applications. Most of all, we loved how the open submission was inclusive and that whenever we blogged inspiration or memes during the submission process, we were engaging with the entire shallura fandom.

That being said, we know that the open submission process from issue one is a little unorthodox when it comes to how many fanzines are run, and many fanzines use an application process for plenty of reasons. An application process gives creators the courtesy to guarantee whether or not their work will make it into the zine (with selection of their application). Furthermore, it allows us, the admins, to control the content that goes into the zine. As the final zine content would not be created before we reach out to the selected creators, we would have a lot more say in what we expect would go into the zine. We also theoretically would be able to build more collaboration and community among the selected creators as we create the issue.

Both processes allow us, without doubt, to select for the quality and quantity of content. As we, the admins, are indifferent as to how much control/flexibility we have on the zine, it’s really up to you to choose. Ultimately, the way that we run the zine process will impact even the amount and type of communication that you see from us on this blog, and we urge you to make the choice you feel most comfortable with!

re: themes or nah

Fortunately, this is a much shorter paragraph. Basically last issue, we left the submissions up to whatever tickled the creators’ inspiration and then discussed between the two of us what theme we felt emanated from the entire collection of work in the issue. We wonder if you all prefer to continue exercising a wide range or if you would prefer to have a theme to narrow your creativity.

If you vote yes, we, the admins, will come up with a theme for you to work with. (lol, we’re sorta super chill and loose with this stuff though, haha.)

If you vote no, y’all can submit whatever (with the same policies of avoiding nsfw, gore, excessive violence, etc).

This decision applies regardless of whether the issue will be done via open submission process or application process.

I’M BAAAAAAACK !!!!!!!!!! Di naman ako malungkot. Actually sobrang saya ko nga eh. Kaya gusto ko magshare dito. Ayoko naman balikan tong tumblr ko pag malungkot ako di ba?? SO ETO NA NGAA !!!!!

Seryoso na, ganito kasi yun. 6 months after my graduation, yo’ boi still don’t have a stable job. Panay freelance lang (wow kala mo dami). So ayun na nga, I saw a job posting as a Graphic Designer. I sent my CV through email. 1 week after, I got no response. 2 weeks after I received a text message. An invite for interview. Me being so frustrated, pumunta na lang ako para di masayang. Kasi nga di ko na ineexpect. Like least expected ko na matatanggap ako. (this is what rejections did to me. nawala na yung confidence ko) pero ayun na nga, the day na nung interview. late pa nga ako hahaha pero sabi ko sa sarili ko na gagalingan ko na lang sa interview and bahala na. So ayun na nga, pang apat ata akong dumating. May 3 na babae na nauna sakin. Close na sila kaya akala ko magkakaklase sila. Pero di pala. Haha. After interview, balik daw kami 1pm then final interview agad. So sa break namin na yon, nagkakilala kilala kaming mga applicant. Knowing them, mga artist talaga sila. Yung iba may experience. Yung iba graduate ng multimedia. Me, IT grad tapos photoshop lang alam haha. Tapos ayun na nga, na interview na kami for final interview. Sabi that day malalaman kung ano ang result. Actually nagdadalawang isip nako na bumalik during nung break. Pero shempre bumalik pa rin ako. After non naunang tinawag yung dawalang mas matanda samin, ang sabi malalaman daw sa friday (tuesday kami nag apply) kung sino ang babalik pa. tapos sunod yung isang babae na artist yung dating. Like very artist, pormahan, buhok tsaka yung portfolio niya very artist. Same lang din yung sinabi sa kanya. Tapos dalawa na lang kami kaya mej naiinip nako kasi nga di ako hoping na matatanggap ako haha. Tapos biglang tinawag yung isang babae na kasabay ko, ang tagal nag usap don then mga 15-20 mins lumabas siya. Pero di na kami nakapag usap kasi ako na sunod na iinterview-hin. Before pala ako ma interview, yung nag final interview samin, nilolo ako. Sabi sakin ‘eto bigyan niyo t-shirt oh’. So ayun na nga, my time na for interview. Explain ng kung ano ano. Mga benefits ganon. Tapos biglang sinabi sakin na kami nga daw nung nauna sakin ang mag-go for training. Edi putangina tuwang tuwa ako. Gusto ko sumigaw kasi FINALLY I AM HIRED. AT GUSTO KO PA YUNG TRABAHO. Pero shempre hindi natapos yun don, nag aral ako ng illustrator through YT. Para atleast kahit basic alam ko. Di naman ako nahirapan kasi mej madami alam ko when it comes sa photoshop. Tapos ayun na nga, 2 weeks daw yung training. Then matatapos na yung second week biglang sinabi sakin nung head namin na di na daw tutuloy for regularization yung isa kong nakasabay. Na-sad ako kasi close na kami. From nag-a-apply to orientation upto our 2nd week. Tapos ayun kanina sa planta ako naka sched tapos biglang sinabi sakin na ng head namin na ginawa daw niya lahat kaso di talaga mag pu-push through yung isa. Ako lang daw. So masaya na malungkot ako. Masaya ako for myself pero I felt bad don sa kasamahan ko. Kasi looking forward ako na maggogrow kami don sa company na yon together. (Mej romantic pero di ko siya type haha) ang bait niya kasi. Legit. Tapos kanina nagchat siya sakin na last day na nga daw niya tapos gusto ko sabihin na matagal ko nang alam kaso baka dumagdag pa sa burden na nararamdaman niya. Tho baka ayun talaga nakatadhana sa kanya. Kaya masasabi ko na this job is really for me. Kaya ayun pinagbubuti ko talaga. Ayun lang, ang saya ko lang for myself. Kasi finally matutulungan ko na parents ko. BYEEEEEEE
