❝ Everything . . . looks so small from up here. ❞

Words were whispered softly as moon-like eyes gazed down at the village below. Watching the twinkling lights of distant shops and homes. Just out of view were thousands of people going on with their lives. Sharing precious moments with family and friends alike. Others enjoy the solitude of their own homes. Life was thrumming just below and yet - it felt all so strange.

These last few years seemed like a bur of emotions and memories. Grief that had once filled many hearts began to melt as the masses moved on. War was becoming a distant memory yet a reminder of what could have been. The village was changing and so were the hearts of those that called it home. Exhausted and scar-covered but recovering - the incredible strength and durability of humankind never ceased to amaze her.

❝ When . . . I look at the village like this. All my troubles feel so small . . . ❞

Turning her gaze away in favor of looking at her unexpected companion. Soft pink lips pulled into a tender smile.

❝ What about you . . . what brings you here? I . . . if you don't mind me asking. ❞
