So after the spoilers for Chap 257 dropped, I saw some tweets clarifying the meaning of the Kanji Sukuna used in the chapter when referring to his mother, and the overall reveals in the chapter got me thinking.

I’m making this post as a way of gathering my thoughts, personal speculations and where I think all of this connects to Sukuna’s character and the information Gege has given us over the years. Nothing I say is by any means new information, but like I said, I’m just collecting my thoughts here. By the way, just a warning, this post contains SPOILERS for the JJK Manga! If you don’t like that, please don’t read this!

Something I’ve noticed is that the theme of “Hunger” and symbolism of “Cooking/Food” is heavily referenced with Sukuna throughout the Manga. Gege in a previous Fanbook has disclosed Sukuna’s favorite Hobby to be “Eating”.

This theme is again very much ingrained within Sukuna’s cursed techniques and even his Domain Expansion, the “Malevolent Shrine”. With his two main techniques being “Dismantle” and “Cleave” are cutting-type attacks. He is also able to use a Flame-Arrow, and Fire is essential for making Food. The Shrine in his Domain Expansion literally has mouths on all sides, looking eager to chew down anything in-front of them!

This symbolism also heavily influences Sukuna’s own manner of speech, and the way he speaks to other characters in the series as well. With his post-fight chat with Jogo before his death, Sukuna mentions Jogo lacking the “Hunger” to take control of his desires, preventing him from reaching the heights of Gojo Satoru. Before the Start of their fight in Shinjuku, Sukuna called Gojo a “Nameless Fish on top of his cutting board”, and that he was going to start by “Peeling off the scales”(refering to Gojo’s infinity). There’s also further symbolism that supports this by analyzing the Kanji and meaning of Sukuna’s “Malevolent Shrine” but I’m not very educated on that so I won’t be opening that point here.

What all of this points to is that Eating and Food……is extremely important to Sukuna, to the point that it literally affects him in manners innumerable.

Eating is an instinct, a necessity for the survival of every single living being.

And In the face of extreme Hunger and starvation, even those with the strongest will could lose their Humanity and revert to the basic animalistic side of their existence. (The Heian Period also had a Famine, although I believe the timing to be a bit off, but do with this info as you see fit)

In JJK Chapter 257, it is revealed to us that Sukuna and his Twin were most likely starving in the womb of their starving mother.

On the brink of starvation, Sukuna had to consume his “other self”(his twin), so that he could survive.

This reveals to us that indeed, Sukuna was born a twin. And as we all know, “Twins” are seen with extreme scrutiny in Jujutsu Society, they’re not well liked. This too in a period where Cursed Spirits and Jujutsu Sorcery was at its peak, it is not far-fetched to assume that his Mother may not have been treated very well by the people in her surroundings, especially as she bore twins.

When Kashimo asks if Sukuna was born the Strongest or if he made himself the Strongest, this is the response Sukuna gave to him:

When you think about it, how do you think the people around them would have reacted when the woman: who was supposed to birth two twins, gave birth to a single child instead? and that child had consumed his other twin in the womb itself?

No doubt people would’ve been horrified, disgusted and even revulsed. With the woman and her newborn child.

This would’ve led to their further ostracisation in the already very close-minded society. Unable to fend for herself and her newborn child, it must’ve been difficult for Sukuna’s mother to survive. I feel like somewhere along the line, Sukuna was left alone to fend for himself at an extremely young age. To protect himself from both Curses and Society alike.

This is why I believe Sukuna knows what true starvation, weakness and hunger feels like. Both in the emotional and literal sense. He was left without another person caring about him or his well-being, in a cut-throat period where it was “Fight or be killed”.

Powerful curses roamed all across Japan, nowhere was safe. Simply be strong, or you'll die. There's no room for weakness. And initially, a kid!Sukuna was weak, as anyone would be in the beginning when they're just starting out in this world. (and maybe, he didn't have much to eat, leading to long periods of starvation? :') )

I believe it is this debilitating hunger, and feeling of weakness that eventually led to Sukuna’s current Hedonistic mindset.

He’s essentially traumatised by it, and believes that it was his own weakness that led him to experience this sheer starvation. That he deserved to feel this way because he was weak then. Perhaps, the people around him were right, that as long as they have the power and strength to overcome anything, they’re free to do as they please; And there is nothing anyone else could do about it.

I feel like the irony here is that Sukuna himself, must’ve been a “weakling” before eventually rising the ranks to become History’s Strongest Sorcerer. This is also why he values Strength so much.

Ultimately, Sukuna has decided that there was nothing more important than being strong enough to fulfill your own desires. And “eating” is one of his most important desires. It’s his favourite thing to do, the one he derives the most pleasure out of. And like an animal, whose main focus is to consume, consume and consume. He too, simply consumes.

Most morals likely have no meaning to him. He doesn’t care who he hurts, what he does, as long as he’s able to get what he wants. And this isn’t limited to eating.

This is why people referring to Sukuna as a “Natural Disaster” is so befitting of him. Because Natural Disasters also don’t care about what or who they’re destroying, they just come and go, wreaking havoc appropriate for their nature and magnitude.

I believe Sukuna himself has said lines similar in nature, when talking to Kashimo:

Now I’m not sure how Sukuna perceives or even experiences this “Love”, because I think he has a rather very warped idea of it. I do think that this definition of love is similar to the one that Gojo also understands, but I don’t think he knows what “love” truly is. I’m not sure how I could comment on this, but I do think that Sukuna’s emotionally starved, whether he realises that or not.

Because, like Kashimo himself asked Sukuna “What is the point of dividing your soul into 20 different parts and then traversing across time if you’re satisfied with this?” we do not know the answer to that yet.

But many people have speculated that “Black Box” panels in JJK manga represent a curse (either self-inflicted or put by someone) on the speaker. Like, take a look over here where Sukuna reiterates the same dialogue, except it looks like he’s trying to reassure himself:

This once again shows that Sukuna has only ever strived for himself, in the same hedonistic fashion, to a very very extreme degree. It is possible that he's been lacking something, and he himself does not realise that he’s lacking it. Maybe it was this subconscious feeling, that led to Sukuna agreeing to Kenjaku’s plan of dividing his soul into 20 different parts, and to traverse across time as a Cursed Object.

Sukuna’s an incredibly complex character, and I’m excited to see where this goes. Gege has put extra care in the way he characterizes and depicts Sukuna, and again, I’m really sad that a lot of that characterization gets lost in translation. Still, I’m going to try my best to understand and get the most accurate feel of his character as I possibly can.

Most of them grew up IN the system and DO know the text and THAT’S why they walk away. 

If you’re gonna make a whole post on ppl not using nuance with CR stuff right now the least you can do is use nuance yourself and not paint an entire group of people with a brush that TV taught you, or a bunch of white men into power *cough* Dawkins *cough* coopted a movement in a society where to not believe in god is synonymous with being immoral.

So just keep in mind, the representation of people without faith that you see on TV or twitter isn’t the majority and 9 times out of 10 isn’t correct at all.

Her Embrace was a freak accident, happening some time in the 90s. Lunchbox's sire is the Nosferatu Elder, Reremouse, from VtM Night Road. In the game, the Courier and Julian take water out to the desert disguised as aid relief to people crossing the border into the States, from Mexico. This is used as bait, feeding Reremouse to prevent him from rising properly and going on a starved rampage. Lettow didn't come into power in '08, I believe? But I can see this practice being inherited from his predecessor.

Lunchbox, once a six-year-old Sofia, saw a monster rising from the desert and tear her family apart. Everthing became a painful, muddied blur when Reremouse reached out and bit into her - there was a gunshot and she was dropped, but not much else is remembered. Somehow, as the child bled out on the Sonoran sand, some of Reremouse's own thick vitae had fallen into her mouth.

The Nosferatu embrace is more painful than others, as there's an extreme physical transformation taking place. But, through some combination of instinct and the Beast, a very scared and hurting fledgling Lunchbox managed to escape Reremouse before he could devour her, fleeing the desert and listening to the impulse that told her the sun was bad, and blood was good.

Lunchbox will eventually find herself in LA, in the Warrens, she'll eventually find a home there - but the beginning of her unlife wasn't a kind one

hi anonnie! there are several factors that contribute to how i got his myth pair, rank 3 (r3), and now awakened.

first and foremost, being completely honest and transparent, i swiped - i have a full time job and work overtime every now and then, and i choose to invest in the game and will put any money i can spare to the side to accumulate and spend it whenever rafayel has new cards - i also buy the aurum pass and heartfelt vow.

tbf, if it weren't for the heartfelt event where we got diamonds in the mail, i wouldn't have been able to save enough for maybe 20-30 pulls before swiping.

now for obtaining the cards - i got the packs they provided in the shop because i genuinely believe they're a lot better than topping up and converting the purple diamonds. not only do you get golden wishes, you also get other items such as the level up materials like the SR and SSR crystal crates for ascension, exp sands, etc.

i saved up the crates for cards i want to ascend passed 50, 60 and 70. rafayel's god of the tides myth pair is legit the only set of cards that i have fully maxed all around. the packs also provided energy cans which helped me run heartbreaker and mr beanie to get the exp sands and money to level up the cards (absolutely painful with how little the drops are for purple sands).

as for the awakened, i would collect them from past events and just let them sit there. i never had the desire to awaken my cards, i legit had been pushing senior hunter contest with cards 70 and under in each section (rafaye, xavier and zayne) - all purely rafayel as, while i know the game is meant for us to build all three love interests, i only focus on him.

I've had nostalgic memories when I rewatched movie 1. Particularly because it was the last entry I followed before I went on hiatus. ... 8 years ago I think?

Whereas I watched the second one during my marathon session this year.

Due to 'my messed-up order of watching' this series, I ended up knowing big spoilers about The movie 2 and I forced to give up my 'anti-spoiler' act before I watched it. Kinda of a bummer for the general view, but you know what? It made the scene more fascinating to watch!

From a general technical standpoint, they stepped up their game drastically. Of course, it's for movies after all. They went bold for expanding the areas, improving the graphics, increasing action scenes, and also adding more music as well.

At the same time, they also upgrade Boboiboy and Kokotiam gang's power so it's making it a 'bit' op for the sake of spectacle. It's not that bad in a negative way, I understand that because the enemies themselves were hella strong as shit. (the first one used a black hole and the second one used all-in-one power hunger fest that could also destroy the galaxy. Logically the earth's supposed to be gone by now :/).

I loved what they did to the lighting and hue for both movies. it's like watching smash bros ultimate but in the movies(weird reference I know but hope you get the idea :/)

Both of them were also establishing the expansion power of elementals and what they can do about it. The first one was the fight with all elementals showcased and the second one was the alternative way of fighting by combining two elementals.

Alsoooo both finally managed to properly introduce the one and only .... Boboiboy Hatless! :D

I'd say they had a fair share of hiding it perfectly well. Cleverly teasing the audience to grasp 'Why the hell do they keep hiding his hair with that particular angle?' Because... If I'm not wrong, Boboiboy was one of the characters that falls in the same category with Upin&Ipin: limiting the haircut for animation efficiency during the first production.

So when his hat does let off, It is always an impeccable scene to watch. That trick never fails to amaze me. (like Professor Layton's hat case :3)

Now I wonder how much screen time his hat is off for the movie 3? I'm sure it takes a lot more than the previous one since his 3rd tier is pure hat off(and dyed hair).

If I want to say from my opinion. Movie 1 has its standout over Movie 2 and vice versa. Both have ups & downs yet they are equivalent to each other. For instance: the timing to add their theme song was a bit out of place in movie 1 so the latter fixed that, whereas the Fang and Ying banter in their language was lacking in movie 2 when the former had this iconic scene (sound on recommend) :]

I remember how hyped I was when one of my fav local band, D'masiv, created a credits song for Movie 1 AND Galaxy season 1. But heck all movie themes in order are wholesome af!!! 'Masih Disini' - 'Dibawah Langit yang Sama' - 'Fire & Water' are in my repeat playlist recently. So overwhelming that I actually cried? The montage during Fire & Water played was not a sad moment but heck I cried because it's soo touching for no reason.

Oh yeah, I forgot it's a family movie so they have rights to not make any deaths scene. I can understand why yet I'm still disappointed.

I cried. HARD when I saw Tok Kasa collapsed. It portrayed emphatically well and worked for new characters that was introduced a bit short.

When they're sick what do they do to feel better?

Sleeping, taking steaming hot showers, binge watching TV series and consuming vitamins usually are his favored methods to feel better.

Do they have any addictions?

Surprisingly not, although he had his fair share of trials of several drugs, he didn't really develop an addiction to any substance, most dependencies have been temporary and he's able to enjoy drugs in a rather casual way. Besides that, he was kinda addicted to nicotine. Some years ago he managed to quit his smoking habit, though he did convert into a social smoker, so sometimes he still randomly smokes at social gatherings, stressful situations, and such. Also on a smaller scale, he's a really big fan of having tanned skin, so whenever he thinks he's gotten too pale again, he's taking measures against it.

Do they have a hard time opening up to people?

Actually yes, while to others he might seem easygoing, he believes that the majority of people only know him from the surface. Mostly he has no issues talking about problems that don't affect him mentally on a too big scale. But his deepest secrets and troubles only get shared with people he enormously trusts.

Are they religious? If so do they have a strong sense of faith, are they uncertain, or are they somewhere in between?

He's lost trust and faith in any kind of god, so the whole concept of religion is something truly ridiculous and unnerving to him.

OMG Hetalia!!! I used to be obsessed with the Show! I moved on but it still brings me joy when I see it from time to time (Also the fandom doesn't seem to die?? like even after almost 10+ years the fandom is somehow still alive?? 😭), even though hetalia had its Good and bad sides (the bad side the ship wars)

The fandom truly is unable to die. I think it's something where you can break away from and return to eventually much later in your life, whether for nostalgia's sake or to get back into the fandom again. Either way, the fandom really is always alive no matter how many years pass. ^^;;;; it's actually quite admirable lol!!

Omg I was so obsessed with England. Like how Azul is my twst muse, England was my Hetalia muse. I would pen so many thoughts regarding him in my Google docs (and they still remain there even today. ;;;). >_< and the 2ps aaaaaa!!! I loved them, especially 2p FACE family. They were all so unhinged hehe. <3 AND NORWAY AAAAAA YES YES!!!! You have wonderful taste, 🌸 anon!!! Norway was another one of my favorites. :D

AND THE NEW CHARACTERS!!!! It was so nice to see. England's brothers are just as fine as England himself... orz I remember back in 2021 (??? was it 2021??) there was word of a new season! I remember I became excited, yet I am here now and I haven't watched it yet LOL. Perhaps I should do so now that the Hetalia worms have crawled back into my brain.

Omg yes!!! The lack of female characters is disheartening. T_T I wish there were more!!! Aaaa it would have been so cool if Portugal was a girl!!! I would have liked to see it!! But as for favorite female characters, I absolutely adore Hungary and Ukraine!! They are both so lovely and sweethearts and they deserve much love!!! Nyo England and nyo 2p England are both very adorable, but I think my favorite nyotalia lady would have to be France! Elegant lady!!!!! So very charming! I love her outfit as well!! ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈♡)

There are other games and shows I like outside of twst, Genshin, and Hetalia! I really like Little Nightmares. It's my favorite horror-adventure game. I love the art style and the storyline. I also want to play Omori when I have enough free time! The premise looks so interesting and I've listened to some of the osts from the game (world's end valentine is such a banger!!!). I also like Danganronpa. As for anime I have really enjoyed, Saiki K, Great Pretender, Devilman Crybaby, Soul Eater, Summertime Rendering, and ODDTAXI are among my favorites!!!

And I have played Obey Me! and Mystic Messenger before! Both are very fun! My favorites from both games are Mammon, Satan, and Belphegor and 707 and Saeran hehe!!! I was never a Jumin fan, but that one bad end... 🫣 so maybe I can consider liking a certain filthy-rich businessman... and something about yandere!Yoosung hits different. >:) in conclusion, unhinged characters are so *chef's kiss* !!!!!

With the last shreds of strength left to him after the fall of Angband, he had dressed himself in a different face and different colors -- unremarkable features easily lost in a crowd, another Maia among the hundreds -- and slipped into the encampment to gain access to Eönwë's ear and favor, shedding his guise only once they were alone. The commander of the host of the West had not raised the alarm at his baring himself before him; just as Mairon had anticipated.

What he had not anticipated had been the resistance.

Eönwë has always been obstinate, but this unpleasant inflexibility is new. It is rigid and brittle like cast iron, clearly a result of being steeped for centuries too long in the dogma of the unchanging, and highly unwelcome: it renders him unresponsive to Mairon's devices.

A worthless endeavor, then, all this abasement; stifling the injury and the ire in his heart in order to demean himself, forcing his tongue to placate and stroke and gloss when all he wants is to bury his teeth into supple throats, to feel the give of flesh under pressure and soak himself in the subsequent warmth, as rightful consequence for laying hands on what is his.

He hears rustling.

Mairon does not raise his gaze from where it is studying the woven patterns under his knee, but he does not need to; Eönwë is finished with him, and most likely turning to go. And still there are no calls or bells or horns; a curious thing, given this failed reunion, but he has no intention of waiting around until the nets are upon him. Gingerly, and with the sickly taste that worry breeds, he casts his senses out: the Elves are numerous, but of little note; how many Maiar are between him and the edge of the camp? If he runs, in his current state, can he --

The prick of curved claw-tips suddenly dances along his jawline, the only notice he receives before a kiss is pressed to his forehead, hard and unyielding.

It burns; a scorching brand wrought of figment and fancy, a life that never was, neither in the lamplit air of Almaren nor in the treelight beneath Aman's sky, seared into his skin by lips incapable of ever understanding their own capacity for atrocity. It burns, so bright and unforgiving and sudden that he has to blink back tears, before they can fall and become misconceptions in someone else's story.

He recognizes it for what it is, of course: an attempt to soothe, and to sway. Poorly done, even if one were to discount the stench of blood, freshly dried, under the herald's dark talons; how he reeks with the recent ruin of everything Mairon held dear.

Mairon knows what he will find but tilts his face upwards all the same, letting hot breath and downy feathers trail their way along his skin until they fall off the edge, their softness as misleading as that of any beast of prey worth its salt.

He meets eyes of Valinor's blank splendor, violent as the devastation of the noonday sky, and drowns in their incomprehension.

Maybe you can help me. I've been looking for a certain reaction image of a puppet. The puppet kinda looks like it belongs on Fraggle Rock but I don't see it on any of the promotional materials. He has red feathered hair and a kinda confused or bewildered expression. I've tried searching for puppet reaction image but all I get is that Brazilian monkey one
