If potara fusion stayed permanent (like it should've), or if he just didn't unfuse after getting "absorbed" by Buu, Vegito would've been a very interesting main character - basically taking Goku's place. And Vegeta's as well I guess (but not necessarily in the same sense).

He's not Goku of course, but he still has Goku's spirit. I would've loved to see in canon how he'd interact with the other characters in the main cast, supporting characters, and how future events would most likely be changed or different altogether because of his personality (+ power ofc). However, DB in of itself probably would've been changed drastically, and I'm sure Toriyama eventually realized he didn't want to deal with that.

I feel like we were lowkey robbed though. (Lowkey because while the concept sounds cool, they probably would've ruined his character later on like how they've done Goku, soooo maybe it's a blessing in disguise that Vegito's not a stable part of the cast.)
