This post is already very cursed and somehow it motivated me to see if there was any way to like. Find English names that sort of have the same vibe as their og ones. Which produced something more cursed actually so im going to put that process under a cut here, very sorry OP but it just happened I'm very sorry.
Kim Dokja
^most common last name ^ reader/only son (獨子)
Most common American last name is Smith. Since 김 has hanja 金 which is gold/metal that's actually kind of fun.
So like. Reader Smith, Solo Smith, Lector Smith (Lector is Latin for reader), Bibble Smith (from biblio)
Yoo Joonghyuk
劉衆赫
^fairly common last name means to kill (刘) ^the crowd, the common people, coming together in a group, unified (众)^shining, red light, revolution (YJH's name is kinda communist lol. Karl Marx is a beautiful name for a young Americanized adult man)
Some options with last name here. Yu is 12th most common name in SK, 12th most common in America is Lopez. Meaning of that is roughly son of the wolf which is kind of metal and gives off the killy vibe but not a 1:1 meaning. Could just go extremely literal like Killer or Killerson. Kelly is also a killy-last name that also implies kind of shining. With the concept of crowd + shining, Robert (from germanic Hrodebert, bright/shining fame) has a similar meaning. So like Robert Kelly.
Also important to note that Yoo Sangah has same last name so like. Ivory Kelly I guess. Ivery/Iverine. If you want to look at the individual meanings of bright and clear like, there are a bunch of girls names for light like Aurora or whatever
Now Han Sooyoung is fun bc surname 韓 literally means "Korean." Obviously should just be switched to English because they are all English now is the thing. Also kind of fits bc her hanja for 'young' sound (英) is used as kanji/hanzi for English/england lol.
Sooyoung
秀英
^very typical for girls I think, pretty/stand out/ beautiful, etc. ^ besides representing England, kind of excellent/young/ having to do with flowers. A blossoming girl genius author and such.
Together sort of homophonic with like talented or flowing kinda like water..
This one has me crawling through the annals of obscure flower names on mommy blogs tho one second.
Erica<- old Norse origin, name of a flower, kind of common and generic, means 'eternal ruler'
Ok I don't want to Google any more baby girl names actually I think I'm going to barf from the genderism of it all sorry
Ok yeah I think my final answers are. Lector Smith (sorry Bibble and also the cannon of Dokja being a weird name to have). Robert Kelly (sorry Lopez you were too ethnic for the orv4Kidz testing audiences). Iverie Kelly (spelled bad, YSA your parents are Mormon now. Maybe last name should be Kellen/Kelleigh if you wanted to pretend cannon made any distinction between the yoo bon-gwans to lyk they ain't related or whatever), and Erica English.
Oh wait lol if you Google Robert Kelly a Korean political analyst comes up that's funny
me: I'm so scared about the tl choices for orv now. what if we get joonghyuk yoo and dokja kim and--
my friend: jonathan yoo and david kim !!
#orv#cursed tbh#+ my language base here is chinese and my korean is baby level like im still doing abcs baby level#so its def on me if the hanja have diff meanings to you guys and i just failed to parse that while putting the naver hanja dictionary thru#google translafe...
