you threw your phone aside as you plopped face-down on your bed. you sighed as soon as your body hit the mattress. on any normal day, you would fall asleep right away after a hectic day like this, but you had plans with your boyfriend, yuma. you wanted to refuse, but you couldn't because you knew that he would find a way to cheer you up. he always did.

you got out of bed, grabbed your keys and walked out of your house. the night air felt cold against your skin and you hugged your coat closer to yourself, but it was of no help. just when you were about to reach yuma's place, your phone started ringing.

you smiled, "there are six actually."

you pointed at each of the stars in the sky, yourself and then at yuma.

yuma blushed on hearing that and moved closer to you. he held your hand and asked, "you had a bad day?"

"yeah. school is beating my ass and I have three pending essays and I'm having trouble with them even though it's my best subject."

you sighed, "but I feel better now that I'm with you."

he placed a soft kiss on your temple, "I thought you hated basketball."

"yeah, I do. but it's fun when I'm playing with you."

You hate arguing with him, so you usually try to leave when it gets a little out of hand, so both of you can calm down alone. Once when you were in a big argument with him, you decided that it should be ended, told him that you can't deal with that right now and you're going to your room to calm down a little, alone. Although Nicholas is a sweetheart, I think we can all agree that from the outside he looks rather intimidating, even scary at times. And this feature of his does not do any good when the two of you are fighting. He also seems like the type to lose his temper pretty easily which is also bad for the situation. Once you had a really big fight. Both of you probably knew that you could settle it calmly but you built up so much stress at work and from life itself that you just had to let it out and unfortunately you chose to let it out on each other. You were at fault too, you said something really hurtful to Nicholas and he felt like he will explode if he doesn't release the tension. So out of anger he hit the wall closest to him. But that was right in fron of you and for a second you thought that he aimed at you. So you closed your eyes and just waited while tears were falling from your eyes. But instead the punch you expected you only felt warm arms wrapping around you. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you..... I could never hurt you" he whispered. Then you just stayed there for a while, crying everything out in his comforting arms.

Yikes, this is a very dire state, if we will see more than one team breaks 75 and 140 I will be SHOCKED. The amount of TBDs is also staggering...��

That being said, we still get one Japanese, 2 Canadians, 2 Italians, and one American teams with a lot of potential. But please god, make them all stop using emo pop songs.

Men:

I had a moment of panic when I couldn't find Shoma on the list, but gladly he is there. Jason however is not (boo). Happy to see Yuma back and there a lot of great names on the list. Canada is really in a bad place when not one man got 2 assignments from what I see and they all go only to two GP assignments (yikes). It’s funny how in almost every GP you can mostly see who is in a good position to win it, but everything else can go wild because men will men. 

Women:

Another example of the dire state of Canadian skating, only three women with assignments and only one of them with two assignments, this is bad. So happy to see Wakaba back on the list, and overall great names from Japan and Korea.

Also worth noting that in all 3 disciplines we are not really seeing more than 1-2 up and coming juniors, which I find kind of unfortunate. 

Dance:

Unsurprisingly the discipline I find most interesting. Most worthy notes:

We really are stuck with G/P, C/B, and G/F for another year. What will it take for at least one of these teams to clear out ffs?

Lajoie/Lagha vs. Green/Parsons in both GP assignments feels intentional and like the powers at be are setting up the next big rivalry. I don’t like it.

CPom up against Zinga/Kolesnik in a GP is also quite the challenge and I think intentional from USFS.

Juniors debuts: Mrazeks with 2 assignments, Lim/Quan with 2 assignments, B/B with just one. Suepr sad not to see the junior Brits here (love them) and hope at least on of the TBDs will go to them.

Canadian federation backing Fabbri/Ayer (understandable) and Langhan/Razgulajevs (infuriating)  but not supporting Hensen/Lickers which very much annoys me.

US dance field remains crowded with 9 (!!!!) different teams on the GP circuit: C/B, H/B, G/P(2), CPom, Z/K, Browns, P/B, M/A. B/S. The only other country to come close is Canada with 7 teams: G/P, Candanes, L/L, F/A, B/B, L/LG, L/R.

I have to admit I felt emotionally disconnected from skating since WTT and in most way it still feels that way. I hope things will start getting more exciting soon and we will get some (good) programs announcements. Either way, bring it on.

You sigh as you sit in your seat, feeling the weight of your frustration. Your friend Maki was supposed to help you with a chapter on biomolecules, a topic you'd been struggling with for weeks. But he had suddenly bailed, leaving you alone and stressed. Despite your best efforts, the concepts just weren't clicking.

You flip through the pages of your textbook, trying to make sense of the confusing diagrams and dense text. You barely notice when Jo approaches your desk. He hesitates for a moment before clearing his throat softly.

"Hey, uh, are you okay?" he asks, his voice barely above a whisper.

You look up, surprised. Jo rarely ever spoke, especially not to you. Despite being in the same friend group, your interactions had been minimal at best. His sudden concern catched you off guard.

"I'm just struggling with this chapter," you admit, gesturing to the open book in front of you. "Maki was supposed to help me, but he bailed."

Jo's eyes flicker over the pages, and he nods slowly. "Biomolecules? That's easy for me. I can teach you if you want."

"Really?" you ask, raising an eyebrow. "I didn't know biology was your thing."

"It's not really, but I remember this part from earlier. I think I can explain it." he replies, pulling up a chair next to you.

As Jo begins to explain, you find yourself drawn not just to the subject matter, but to Jo himself. His voice, usually quiet and unassuming, takes on a gentle cadence as he tries to simplify the complexities of biomolecules. His explanations are earnest, accompanied by nervous gestures that betray his lack of confidence in the material.

You notice how his hair, usually neatly combed, falls slightly disheveled over his forehead, giving him a slightly endearing, boyish charm. His glasses, perched precariously on the bridge of his nose, slip down every so often, prompting him to push them back up absentmindedly.

Despite his efforts, Jo falters. He stumbles over definitions, his explanations occasionally trailing off into uncertain mutters. Diagrams that should clarify concepts only seem to confuse him further. You watch him closely, a furrow forming between your brows as you try to reconcile the disparity between his initial confidence and his current struggle.

"Jo," you interrupt gently, "Are you sure you're good at this? Biology isn't even one of your subjects, right?" 

Jo freezes, his face turning a shade of red you've never seen before. He stammers, "I, uh... I just wanted to help. I'm sorry. I thought I could do it."

You laugh softly, shaking your head. "Jo, it's okay. You don't have to apologize. It's actually kinda sweet that you tried."

He looks at you, wide-eyed and still blushing furiously. "I just... I don’t know why i said i’d do it."

"Jo, if you wanted to spend time with me, you could've just asked to meet up outside of school." you teased.

Jo's blush deepens, and he looks down at his hands. "I didn't think you'd say yes." 

Oh! He actually wanted to spend time with you? You were flattered, honestly, and you knew that you’d regret it if you didn’t do something about it.

You smile, reaching out to gently touch his arm. "Well, why don't you ask me now?"

He swallows nervously, finally meeting your gaze. "Would you... would you like to go out with me sometime? Maybe we could study together? Or, you know, do something fun?"

You grin, feeling a warmth spread through your chest. "I'd like that, Jo. I'd like that a lot."

Jo's face lights up with a shy, relieved smile. "Okay, great. How about this weekend?"

"It's a date," you say, giving his arm a reassuring squeeze.

As you both gather your things, the frustration from earlier melts away. Maybe Maki bailing wasn't such a bad thing after all.

After dates K usually hugs you and kisses you and he planned to do the same this time too. Only if you weren't faster than him. You guys were still talking in his car. Talking about everything and nothing, laughing a lot just like after every date. You felt so happy with him, so.... in love. You just felt a sudden urge to kiss him so you did it. It caught him off guard but when you tried to pull a way he chased after your lips to capture them again. When you two stopped for air he just smiled at you because he knew it was a big step for you.

Fuma

Your relationship was still fresh, so you didn't have that much intimacy yet. Today you just had a rough day and you couldn't stop yourself from crying. All this while you already settled a date with Fuma, to watch a movie at your place, so you left the door open for him. But as you were crying you lost track of time and the next thing you hear is your boyfriend yelling a loud 'hello' in search of you. You tried to hide you tears but it was no use. He got really worried when he saw you so he sat on the bed, right next to you. The thought of hugging you too crossed his mind, but knowing you're not really into physical touch he wasn't sure if it was okay when you're in this state. He did try to calm you down by saying "it's okay to cry" and "you can tell me if you want to". But suddenly you just asked "Fuma, can I hug you?" He nodded with a soft smile, hoping he can make you feel better.

Nicholas

He understands why you don't like skinship that much (no he doesn't cuz why would you resist warm hugs, but he tries his best). Despite that, he initiates a lots of skinship, but always makes sure that you're okay with it. When you first initiated skinship, it was really sweet. Both of you were sitting on the couch at your place doing nothing together. You looked at him by some sudden urge, just admiring his beauty (cuz come on, he's beautiful) and you lead your gaze to his arm. His perfectly defined arm that is decorated by a scar, something that makes him even more unique. Without thinking you lay your head on his shoulder, this already surprised him. But he definitely wasn't prepared for what came next. You brushed your hand over his scar making a guitar string sound and then you just smiled at him, this act made him laugh so hard you tought you broke him. Then when he finished he just looked at you and said "you're so cute"

EJ

It was nothing special honestly. You two were hanging out at his place talking and doing nothing when suddenly you felt hungry. He offered to make both if you sandwiches and you'd be crazy not to accept it. But as he was in the kitchen, making food, he looked so beautiful. Eyes focused on what he was doing and his waist just looked so pretty, so inviting. So you went up behind him and hugged him. It caught him off guard because normally you don't do things like this. In fact, you have never initiated a hug between you too, or with anyone else. He even asked you if you were okay because it's just sooo not like you. You just laughed at his question confirming that you are indeed okay, he just looked really pretty and you couldn't resist.

Yuma

You guys went stargazing together. It was almost midnight and there was nothing around you, the whole environment was quiet and calm. Sometimes you talked, but otherwise you just layed next to each other looking at the sky, making wishes when you saw a shooting star. But you were getting sleepy. You didn't want to fall asleep out in the middle of nowhere but you did want to get into a more comfortable position. You didn't have any pillows though, so you decided to use your boyfriend as a pillow. More specifically, your boyfriend's chest. As soon as you laid your head on it, you could hear a soft laugh coming out of Yuma. "I knew you wouldn't be able to hold yourself back from touching me for long" he said between laughs, but this playful statement of his earned him a soft slap from you.

Jo

He's shy. Like VERY shy. So I feel like it would be really awkward for a while with him. It would be just hugs and pecks on the lips for a long time because neither of you was brave enough to initiate more. And even those hugs and pecks were started by him. He even felt a little worried that you don't actually want to be with him. But one day on your date you felt courageous so you decided it was time to finally do something. It was a movie date when you came out from the cinema you guys still had some of your shared popcorn. You guys were talking about the move you just saw while you ate all the remaining popcorn. And by 'you' I mean you alone. When you realised there's no more left you just looked at him and suddenly kissed him. It was a longer kiss, but all soft. Then you said "sorry, I thought you deserve something since I ate all the popcorn". But he didn't even think about that, he was busy becoming a tomato.

Harua

It takes him time to start initiating intimacy too, so he understands you. Still he was the first one to initiate holding hands, hugging and kissing. You were comfortable with it, you just didn't know how to initiate these kinds of things. One time you and your boyfriend went to the nearby coffee shop for a date. You were waiting and finally your lattes arrived. You guys were chatting nicely and your boyfriend started to drink his coffee, but the cream stayed on his lips. That seemingly stayed unnoticed by Harua. You were thinking about how to tell him that he has some cream on his lips when suddenly you had a better idea. So while he was telling you about a cat he met the other day you just leaned in and kissed him. The action took him by surprise because you have never been so straightforward about a kiss before, but he had to admit that it was really cute. (It's so cliché I'm sorry sksksk)

Taki

He seems like his love language is physical touch. So it was a little hard for him to get used to the fact, that you're not really into it. Even when you two end up cuddling or kissing or just hugging, it is always him who initiates it. So the first time you hugged him he got so happy, he ended up picking you up and spinning you with that adorable smile of his on his face. After he put you down he would apologise in case that action was too much for you. When you tell him that it was okay and he's really cute and even hug him again he just carries you to the couch or bed (whichever is closer) and you two end up cuddling for hours.

Maki

I think his love language is physical touch. It would probably be hard for him to completely understand how you're not really into touching and stuff. He might end up starting to initiate less skinship because he wants to respect your boundaries. But you wanted to cuddle him, wanted to kiss him you just didn't know how you should start it. Once you were at his place, watching a movie. You just left for more snacks and when you came back you thought that now is a good time to cuddle him. So when you went back to the couch you put the snacks on his lap and then sat close to him, close enough to be able to lay your head on his shoulder. Maki, noticing your intention, put his arm around you and you guys just continued to watch the movie, but your boyfriend felt exceptionally happy just from your small gesture.
