“ YOU NEED TO HOLD STILL  if you want this to look good , ”  darcy says ,  tone not exactly admonishing but near enough so .  her face is scrunched up in concentration ,  her lips slightly pursed ,  as she holds kosmo’s chin in one hand while the other holds a brush to paint his face with .  ‘ la calavera ,  but make it glow ’  is a nice idea for a costume ,  she has to admit ,  and if she can say so herself ,  she’s not doing the worst job of it ,  either .  two more strokes finish the shading on kosmo’s forehead ,  and with a satisfied click of her tongue ,  darcy snaps once to flick off the lights and another time to ignite the little strobe light she acquired to check if the neon paint works as intended .  the witch puts down the brush and hands kosmo a little hand mirror to check out her work himself .  “ so ,  thoughts so far ?  think that’s gonna work for the whole mask ? ”
