TOBIRAMA — snow leopards. invisibility, intuition, solitude, silence, secrets, allure, sexual power/prowess, cold, white. symbolically, snow leopards are believed to "see and sense what others cannot", characterized by extraordinary sensory perception. its intuition is keen and meaningful, never straying from the logical path.

Tobirama is technically contracted with wild cats like Kagami, but his natural affinity for all that the snow leopard symbolizes drew the two together instantaneously. He calls upon his summons extremely rarely, much to their approval, and normally only relies on one in particular whom he was partnered with in the beginning of his indoctrination into the "pride". This summon's name is Miyuki.

MADARA — falcons. spirit, light, power, focus, prophecy, aspiration, intensity, superiority, determination. the falcon symbolizes an intense focus dedicated to one goal, senses sharpened by a predatory instinct to take what it wants, when it wants. the falcon flocks to those impassioned with a fiery spirit to make their desires a reality.

Madara’s fascination with falconry is what inevitably led him to contract with these birds of prey. They are a very cynical summon with a critical eye for weakness. Initially, Madara was rejected because he was deemed unworthy to contract with the falcons. Upon his return and renewed determination, however, his worth was reevaluated and more readily accepted. Rarely does he ever need to summon a falcon in battle, but he has close relationships with some of the smaller summons that carry out his messages.

TETSUJIN — scorpions. rebirth after death/reincarnation, unexpected death, familial bonds, self-preservation, awareness, judgement. scorpions are patient and withdrawn creatures, emerging only when necessary and attacking only when threatened. they are fiercely protective of their offspring, bordering on aggressively territorial where their family is involved.

Tetsujin’s arrival within the scorpions' domain was one of total and utter silence; verbally, that is. The scorpions have a peculiar way of communicating without words, having formed what would seem to be an entire language with presence of mind alone. His first visit was one of enlightenment and he was able to connect with the scorpions on a nigh spiritual level.

KAGAMI — black panthers. protection, courage, honesty, the moon, shadow, spiritual understanding, mysticism, moving forward. panthers are masters of disguise. they can shift through shadows undetected until it’s too late, their eerie stealth only broken when one looks close enough to see through the illusion. they are elusive and lead lives of aloofness, although this does not necessarily translate to loneliness.

Having been introduced to wild cat summons by Tobirama, he was left to his own devices to find the perfect partner for him. When he stumbled upon a lone black panther amid the shadows, he felt a certain connection to the way its fur blended in with the darkness, obscuring its true nature until he literally ran into it ( and nearly got ripped to pieces in the process ) . While outspoken and a progressive thinker, Kagami is used to fading into the background in the lives of those around him. Without a single other panther to be found, he and the one named Seina became lifelong partners.

HIMAWARI — foxes. intelligence, independence, playfulness and mischief, beauty, protection, good fortune, keenness, slyness, scrutiny. the phrase “cunning like a fox” came about for good reasons. nearly every culture regards fox symbolism as including stealthy, near-silent movement because the creature is so well-acclimated to the space it inhabits. immediately, fox represents slyness, elusiveness, the mysterious, and adaptability.

Himawari would eventually come to form a contract with foxes, dignified creatures of great renown. She stumbled upon stories of their domain during her independent studies and took it upon herself to find them so that she could learn from their ways. While training under their guidance, the foxes soon came to acknowledge her as a worthy possessor of a contract.

SASUKE — monkeys. energy, playfulness, fun, humor, mischief, trickery, intelligence, courage, enthusiasm. monkeys are very resourceful and highly sociable. monkeys exhibit exceptional unity between themselves and come together in numbers in case of external threats. in legends and myths, monkeys are displayed as mischievous silly figures.

During the time that Sasuke lived alongside the Sage Monkeys, he gained the ability to summon them at will even without a formal contract. This remained so even after he became Son Gokū's jinchuriki since the Sage Monkeys would always heed their king and the wishes of his vessel.

ENISHIYA — dragons. wisdom, longevity, sexuality, fertility, procreation, regeneration, life, valiance, heroism, and perseverance. dragons are associated with the depths of the unknown sea, with the mountaintops, and with the clouds. they are believed to guide people with brilliance, dignity, and authority towards enlightenment.

As detailed here, Enishiya approached the Sage Dragons of Jigokuzan with humility and reverence and was eventually granted a contract with them despite their inhibitions toward humans. She is directly bound to Ryuzakinokami, the Dragon Queen.

SEIKI — crocodiles. primordial wisdom, efficiency, stealth, ferocity, sovereignty and power, independence, instincts. crocodiles are solitary hunters. they may bask on a bank in the sunshine with other crocodiles, but they lead independent lives. by utilizing its ability to camouflage itself, the crocodile slowly pushes forward without moving a muscle before pouncing.

Seiki's trials in forging a contract with the crocodile summons were not easily overcome, but after proving her strength in the eyes of Kyōkan, a battle - worn and belligerent crocodile who initially wanted nothing to do with Seiki, or anyone else for that matter. He acknowledged her mettle and spirit, however, and though they still find themselves at odds with each other quite often, they work together flawlessly.

Tobirama is also autistic, albeit it manifests in a different way than Madara’s does. He’s always had trouble grasping the concept of empathy &&. has thus developed a reputation for being unfeeling. It is true that he feels significantly less than most people, but that isn’t to say that he can’t show sympathy or compassion. Even so, he has difficulty knowing when to show it &&. most times doesn’t know exactly how. Many people would label him socially inept because of this.

His specialized interest in studying &&. inventing jutsu began early on   —— —   specifically when the idea to use fuinjutsu to neutralize his short - comings hit him as a young child. He did as much research as he could into creating &&. utilizing seals effectively, &&. even though he had to have his errors corrected by Mito, he was nonetheless in awe of the infinite possibilities that had been presented to him. If it were up to him, he would have gladly sequestered himself away from society to study &&. experiment in peace.

In fact, that was precisely what he’d planned to do following the death of his brother if it weren’t for the fact that Hashirama had bestowed upon him the responsibility of being the next Hokage. It was never something Tobirama wanted to do; he was perfectly content to be little more than an advisor, a voice of reason. It was never his wish to carry the burden of leading the new world order Hashirama had established. The only reason he didn’t refuse it was because he felt it would have dishonoured Hashirama’s memory, or that it would have disappointed his brother somehow.

MadaSaku [SFW]

These two had trouble getting along at first, just like two thick skulls! We know Madara for his awful temper, but nobody talks about Sakura’s as much as they should.

Being such a strong and independent woman, this kunoichi could never comply with the stereotype that this Uchiha is used to frequent. Having such a dominant character, he enjoys subduing others.

But when his path impacts her, everything takes a turn. She is not someone who will easily carry out his orders like anyone else, and this presents a challenge, something that intrigues him.

How did they end up together? Let’s say that, after the war, Madara survived, but his chakra paths were destroyed with the rise of Kaguya, so it is decided that he is no longer a threat, that he can be valuable to the village. Thus begins his rehabilitation, which Sakura has to take care of.

Before they realize it, they are dancing before a fire that grows between them, and there is no way to avoid it.

The relationship is quite balanced. Sakura compensates for all the mental health that Madara does not have lmao. No, but seriously.

Before his intensity, she is calm. In the face of his anger, she is the peace. In front of his tyranny, she is patient. They say that the opposites attract each other, don’t they? The best example is this couple.

Madara is a broken man, but Sakura helps him to recompose his soul piece by piece, to learn to love again, to see life with hope one more time.

He doesn’t trust anyone but her, so it’s not uncommon that their activities as a couple are all indoors.

Reading together in front of the fireplace with some tea, team cooking, cleaning the house together, training in the garden.

Because he was always very cultured, it is not strange to see him write down his knowledge on scrolls, which she then reviews and expresses her opinion on the subject in a lively debate.

Very occasionally, Madara accompanies Sakura to her work. Feeling rejected by the eyes of others about his person, he locks himself in her office until she ends the day, like a frightened cat in the presence of humans.

IzuSaku [SFW]

I have a very crazy idea of how this couple could have been formed, pay attention. After the final fight with Madara, Hashirama is aware that he is alive. At the same time, Tobirama finishes creating Edo Tensei. Both brothers decide that the only one who can make Madara see reason is Izuna, therefore, they revive him, and without manipulating him, they allow him a complete resurrection (breaking the Jutsu, as well as Madara in the war). They ask him to bring his brother to his senses and Izuna seeks him out to show him that he has come back to life. When he finds him (let us suppose that Madara developed the Rinnegan ahead of time and not just before he died) he believes that he is being deceived, and without being able to handle his new power yet, he sends his younger brother into the future = IzuSaku.

The Uchiha is upset, really upset. The one who killed him has just brought him to life, his brother is suffering and now he is in who knows where. But his bad predisposition changes when a pink-haired young woman appears in his sight.

What a curious, adorable, beautiful, and well-intentioned person. Sakura, her name suits him. Such beautiful eyes.

She is frightened by the symbol on his back, and it helps him to determine his situation. Time travel, change of periods. What a lovely woman, definitely her clan did not exist in the original time of Izuna, otherwise, he would remember such gorgeous features.

She decides to help him, and hiding him in her house is when their bond becomes closer.

Sakura had only interacted with one Uchiha in her life, and suddenly she cannot believe how affective the one that is now with her is. Love 24/7, the intensity of this clan is real.

Surprise hugs from behind, tender kisses on the neck at any moment, caresses on the face, arms, thighs.

Something that Sakura enjoys a lot is to comb Izuna’s hair after he gets out of the shower, usually, he falls asleep lying on her after a long time.

After a difficult day, he welcomes her at home with a good massage session, having become an expert in reading her body expressions to detect her mood.

Izuna lends himself as a test subject in Sakura’s work, he finds it very amusing. He loves to receive as much of her attention as possible.

The fact that Madara no longer has a chakra does not mean that he has lost his unequaled strength.

Oh, but wait… Sakura has hers too.

The constant struggle for who dominates who, which brings a very funny dynamic when it comes to intimacy.

Highschool AU: Having a crush

Madara

Madara is the kind of guy who is at the same time super popular, but on the other hand nobody talks to him - and he doesn’t want them to, either. He’s distant, quiet, but super attractive and has got a sharp mind. Basically: one half of the school absolutely loves him and wants to date him, the other half hates him. There are going to be veeeery few people who don’t have such a strong opinion on him. He’s talked about, although he barely ever talks. I think for him it is most likely that he’ll fall for someone who is more or less of indifferent to him. I mean, he is probably a huge dick to those who hate him, and fangirls and fanboys annoy him, but if there is someone… who is interested but doesn’t freak out when they see him, he’d dig that.

Although not necessarily friends, there are some people he hangs out with. And they’ll notice right away, even if he doesn’t say anything about it. He won’t push it, won’t try and come close to you on school grounds - because honestly, you’d be the center of attention pretty quickly and Madara doesn’t want that for you.

Hashirama knows, Izuna knows, Tobirama suspects it.

It’ll surprise him, honestly? He doesn’t understand? He probably pretends for a while that they aren’t even that great, why am I so attracted? But he won’t fight it for long. He… wants this future s/o.

Observes them as much as he can. He won’t go out of his way to watch them in school, but he’ll sometimes walk around town too see if you’re hanging out somewhere, and he’ll remember those places. As much as he wants this crush to be his - once he accepted the fact that yes, he is crushing - he’ll be quite the jealous, curious admirer. He wants to know who you’re hanging out with. He wants to know you.

There will be a point, it might be quite sudden, where he realizes it’s more than a crush, and it’s something he needs to take seriously. And at this point, his withdrawn nature will vanish. He can be quite bold - a little bit too much sometimes perhaps - and he’ll make sure you know one thing: He is interested, and he has good reason to believe that so is his crush. He’s confident, almost cocky when finally approaching his crush. That calms down once he’s actually in the relationship he wants, but courting means showing himself off.

Very protective and jealous, even before you’re together he might treat you a little bit like you already are. He won’t let anyone come close to you, he’ll show up at places you are and basically demand you spend time with him. He’ll be busy protecting you from his fans, but he doesn’t shy away from putting his foot down and telling them to back the fuck off.

And he can be a smug asshole if he notices that you’re getting more and more interested in him.

Hashirama

what an actual angel. this is my first time writing hashirama and I lOVE HIM

Sunshine. Tries to be friends with everyone, probably school council or something! Some people don’t like him out of jealousy, but honestly, he is like the queen bee? So good so pure?

He really does try to be friends with everyone. And not just lets-talk-in-the-hallway-when-no-other-friends-are-around. No, he’ll get to know the people as good as he can, he’ll make time for everyone. Sometimes he slacks off a little and his grades are sometimes not thaaat good but that’s because he’d rather spend the whole night talking on the phone with a friend who’s going through a rough time than studying for a test. But luckily he has Tobirama XDDD

It would be so obvious if he had a crush. He is usually so open with everyone, but as soon as his crush walks by, he goes shy!!! Red face, stutters, the whole package! But the more time he spends with them and gets to know them, the more comfortable he will be around them. He’ll try to show off a little, too, but it’s all playful and sweet. Actually a lot of “dates” before you actually go out.

Wants to get to know everything about you, hence why he always does stuff with you. He will try to be your best friend!

He talks about you sooooo much it’s annoying to everyone else. Like, he just can’t shut up???? You’re so great???? He’s like a fanboy

Will probably try to wait for a good day like Valentine’s Day or maybe even prom to ask you out. He wants it to be special! Honestly, you’ll know it’s coming because as soon as the idea is in his head, he’ll get so giddy about it! Also, he IS very honest with his feelings and even before properly confessing he will tell you how amazing you are and how important you are to him.

Since he makes all potential fanboys or fangirls his friends, there is little jealousy from anyone else - they’re happy for him!! He is always taking care of others, now someone can take care of him!

Totally takes you to prom with a super nice suit, flowers and the sweetest smile! Your parents will love him immediately!

Tobirama

Grades, grades, grades, sarcastic jokes, grades, leave me alone, grades.

Without a doubt one of the students with the best grades. Even if there are some things he doesn’t know, he studies like crazy, so he aces practically every test or exam. Nerd.

He doesn’t like having crushes, honestly. It’s distracting, and he is a guy who has intense emotions, if he has them. Although, it’s gotta be someone special! Not necessarily someone expectionally clever or somethhing but… just someone who interests him. Someone who’s confident and sticks to what they believe might be a good match for him?

He avoids them for a while, so much that it becomes quite obvious to the people close to him aka his brothers. They would notice quite quickly how he grows all quiet and broody when his future s/o walks by

He will be quite cold to you when he first starts having this crush,but the more time he has to get used to it, the more he opens up. He’s still that straight-faced douche but he’ll try and help you out. Study with you, carry some heavy books, things like that. Never over the top because he feels awkward with the possibility of showing his feelings

But his crush is very likely to notice how much effort he puts into caring for them - for other people it might not be a lot, but everyone who knows Tobirama sees that he’s being careful with them

it will take him a while to confess, if he does at all. I think it would be good for his crush to confess tbh because this boy pretends to be SO cool but in reality…. he’s shy af. Don’t tell him I said that.

It’s a possibility that Hashirama sets you two up. Or tries to. Tobirama will hate him.

If he DOES ask you out, expect flowers, a blush on his cheeks and a very secluded place far away from school. If you accept his feelings, I feel he’d give you this really awkward but adorable first kiss. He isn’t touchy-feely by any means, but he does want to show you he’s serious. Because with his unromantic attitude he fears that his crush could doubt his feelings

Ino

Busy little bee. She is one of the popular girls, with a lot of fake friends and very few good friends. She can get along with anyone if she tries, but usually she doesn’t bother trying.

Definitely the one to get a crush on the popular guy, and will sometimes act like they’re already dating in front of her friends. But those aren’t actually true feelings. Yes, she is head over heels, but it’s not like her heart beats only for that person. People might think she only likes that guy because as the popular girl she should like the popular boy, right?

She has quite the mouth on her, so many schoolboys would be intimidated or annoyed by her. Even in this setting I could see her falling for someone like Sai tbh

But Highschool Ino is at heart quite open to people. She understands them pretty well and even though she has become good at manipulating people, she would be quite… shy around a guy she truly cares about. But she wouldn’t want all those fake friends to know. They’re likely to get hyped up over that person, following Ino’s example and having “crushes” on him themselves. And there would be some who would try and take hm away from her. She doesn’t want that, so she keeps those truly pure feelings to herself.

Actually admires intelligence a lot. Likes to be treated as an equal. Can have quite the temper. But… she is actually a very caring admirer, even though it will be outside of school, mostly.

If he really is quite smart, she would definitely try to get him to tutor her. And honestly, though she is constantly swooning on the inside, she does give her best to impress her crush - and her grades show it.

Yes, she would very much like to be asked out instead of doing it herself. But she isn’t a very patient girl. So if the crush just doesn’t say anything about it… she will do the asking out.

Probably in the heat of the moment. Maybe after a studying session?

Will expect want you to ask her to prom. She is one of the people who really want prom to be special, she wants to wear the prettiest dress and to dance all night with the boy she loves! So yeah, do that for her, even if you can’t dance!

Temari

I can see Temari as the sporty, cool girl. She’s got quite  temper, but she makes good friends and basically turns school into a fun time for herself and others! She isn’t the most popular one, but she doesn’t want to be super popular either! She has pretty decent grades, has some good laughs… and gets into some fights. So a pretty awesome girl tbh

It’s not easy to fluster her, or to get her attention if you’re not already one of her friends. But she can be bold with her affections. Although… it takes time for her. She doesn’t want to fall into a relationship unprepared! I can see her having a crush on someone who used to irrritate her. Someone who is bold and confident like her, someone who can keep up with her. But no matter who she falls for, she can be quite the tease.

She isn’t too obvious about it when she likes you, but she doesn’t hide it either. If you find out.. she’ll smirk and hide her emotions behind a confident reply. “Well, duh, I like you! Was about time you noticed!”

She tells her friends about that crush, and they help getting the crush into their group, too. So yeah, you’ll be her friends’ friend too. Which means you cann all hang out together and she can get to know you and swoon over you without anyone becoming suspicious too early on. Probably has some code like “no dating before you haven’t had your crush for three months!”

Actually, she really might do that! And after three months of crushing on you.. she’ll try to get more alone time with you.

Temari has two noisy brothers. Two noisy brothers who want to know what their sister is up to and why she spends so much time with this person.

Honestly it depends on her crush whether she asks them for a date or they ask her. She is bold enough, and honestly, that tiny blush will be so cute! But she’d also like to be asked out!

In addition to Tobirama’s albinism, he is anaemic. This has caused a variety of problems, the most notable of which are depression and fatigue. Although he is a master of maintaining whatever outward persona he would like, he suffers from pessimism that often transgresses the boundary of catastrophic thinking, which might give one the impression of paranoia if one knew just what Tobirama’s mind was capable of concocting in response the most benign scenario.

Because of this his mind is constantly active, using his critical thinking skills to create strategies for situations that are far from likely. He’ll analyze and re - analyze until he has addressed every possible aspect of something. This in tandem with his innate fatigue leaves him more exhausted mentally and physically than he will ever let on. His physical fatigue is part of the reason for the seals on his arms and legs: they make him faster and more agile to combat the underwhelming stamina he might have otherwise. He has been able to overcome the majority of his fatigue over the years, but there is little doubt in his mind that he would not stand second to Hashirama and Madara if not for his enhancements.

The combination of Tobirama’s albinism and anemia cause him to have a lower body temperature than most. That is the reason for his fur collar, and the multiple layers of clothing or well - insulated clothing that one may find him wearing at any given time. As such he holds a preference for summer, when he can soak in the outside warmth.

Tobirama has oca1a albinism, a subtype of oca1 albinism ( a defect of the tyrosinase enzyme, ) which is characterized by a complete absence of melanin that results in white hair ( often translucent, ) very pale skin, and light eyes. Tobirama’s eyes took on the seemingly rare reddish hue instead of the typical light blue of most albinos with this type. Afflictions associated with his albinism include nystagmus from his early childhood and severe photophobia. While his nystagmus faded as he aged, he had to treat his photophobia with the seals under his eyes, making them less sensitive to light.

His skin is still incredibly prone to burning under prolonged exposure to sunlight, however. Because of this he makes a point of wearing clothes that cover as much of his skin as possible. Any instances where he does not or is not able to, he attempts to stay well within shaded areas.

In addition to his albinism, Tobirama has type two Griscelli Syndrome. This was the cause for his horrid immunity as a child and it is likely that if he had not treated it with the seals on his abdomen, he would have died very young due to infections and / or over - activity of his immune system.

The manner in which Tobirama experiences sleep is very much like sleep paralysis. During sleep paralysis, one’s body is more or less "paralyzed" while the mind remains active. In this state, sufferers often experience what is likened to lucid dreaming, but on a much darker scale. Because the body is asleep, breathing patterns are slower and more shallow, causing the brain to think it is being suffocated to some degree. When someone undergoing sleep paralysis opens their eyes, they are likely to see vivid hallucinations of terrifying things that the brain conjures up as a reason for the assumed suffocation, but more importantly, even with eyes closed the sufferer often feels another presence in the room, like some dark figure looming by the bedside.

Tobirama does not suffer sleep paralysis, but his mind never fully "stops," so to speak. His senses are always on the alert and therefore what his mind senses in his surroundings is often translated into his dreams. It is a sort of reverse lucid dreaming in that, instead of taking imaginary aspects and putting them in the "real world," it is the real world around him that invades his imagination.

Because of this his dreams are often filled with shapes and figures with no definitive forms. There are many colours and voices, but infrequently any faces or bodies to attach them to. Since he cannot actively filter his senses of unnecessary data while asleep, it tends to overwhelm his unconscious mind and puts him into a state of stress, which more often than not leads to nightmares.

When in fear, the mind can conjure very vivid imagery, as explained above during bouts of sleep paralysis. It is this phenomenon that allows him to experience nightmares far more acutely than his normal dreaming patterns. Because of this they affect him more than normal nightmares might affect somebody else and can be more likened to night terrors.

The scenes he is subjected to most often are those of death, particularly of his family. He has watched the deaths of his brothers countless times in his sleep, including Hashirama to a far greater extent, and has experienced Butsuma’s cruelty tenfold long after his death. Sometimes his nightmares feature Izuna in various states of gory agony.

Tobirama does not wake screaming from these nightmares. He wakes in a fit of tears and he is often left sobbing uncontrollably for long moments after. It is a genuine rarity for him to get a good night’s sleep because of these afflictions and they are often the cause of his innate grouchiness.

Tobirama is also autistic, albeit it manifests in a different way than Madara’s does. He’s always had trouble grasping the concept of empathy &&. has thus developed a reputation for being unfeeling. It is true that he feels significantly less than most people, but that isn’t to say that he can’t show sympathy or compassion. Even so, he has difficulty knowing when to show it &&. most times doesn’t know exactly how. Many people would label him socially inept because of this.

His specialized interest in studying &&. inventing jutsu began early on   —— —   specifically when the idea to use fuinjutsu to neutralize his short - comings hit him as a young child. He did as much research as he could into creating &&. utilizing seals effectively, &&. even though he had to have his errors corrected by Mito, he was nonetheless in awe of the infinite possibilities that had been presented to him. If it were up to him, he would have gladly sequestered himself away from society to study &&. experiment in peace.

In fact, that was precisely what he’d planned to do following the death of his brother if it weren’t for the fact that Hashirama had bestowed upon him the responsibility of being the next Hokage. It was never something Tobirama wanted to do; he was perfectly content to be little more than an advisor, a voice of reason. It was never his wish to carry the burden of leading the new world order Hashirama had established. The only reason he didn’t refuse it was because he felt it would have dishonoured Hashirama’s memory, or that it would have disappointed his brother somehow.

Part of the agreement for him to remain in the village, per negotiations by the other nation leaders, was that his continued existence remains a secret to the public. Thus, only a select few know that he is still alive, those being the five Kage, their trusted advisors, &&. Konohagakure’s Council. Even his fellow ANBU don’t know his true identity.

He tries not to use many of his signature jutsu unless it would be detrimental to his mission not to &&. has taken it upon himself to learn other jutsu on a similar power level to compensate for this.

He still researches into creating new jutsu, though. That passion will never die.

His uniform differs from that of a typical ANBU in that it fully covers his arms and neck, hiding the seals on his body.

When he’s not in uniform, &&. he has to leave his home, he uses a transformation jutsu to alter his appearance. He retains his white hair, but it’s long &&. straight, his eyes are blue instead of red, &&. he hides the seals on his body. The changes are subtle, but they’re enough to remove him from the well - known image of the Nidaime Hokage. TOBIRAMA.

Tobirama’s inauguration as Nidaime Hokage was not a wholly celebratory event   .      It coincided on the same day as a funeral   —— —   the funeral of the Shodaime   ,   his own brother   .

He was asked to wear the formal Hokage robes   ,   but he refused   .      Hashirama may have been the one to grant him the title of the next Hokage as his DYING WISH   ,   but Tobirama would be damned if he let something so superficial prevent him from honouring the sacrifice of his last living close relative   .      He wore black clothes just like the rest of the village   .

The Senju clan was plentiful   ,   but nobody could replace the brothers he’d lost in the name of Hashirama’s dreams   .

He was the first to step up to the altar dedicated to his brother’s memory   .      He knelt beside it   ,   folded his hands against the covered coffin containing his brother’s corpse   ,   &&. pressed his forehead against the red wood juzu clasped between his palms   .

Tobirama had never been particularly religious   ,   but in this moment   ,   he did pray   .      The silent words uttered only in his mind were carried by the tears that slipped down his cheeks &&. onto the cloth covering the casket   .

He stayed there for several minutes   ,   mourning silently before all those who had come to honour Hashirama   .      As a principle   ,   Tobirama did not cry   ,   but he felt no shame in doing so right now   .      The last of his family was gone &&. he was all that remained   .      For some reason   ,   fate had deemed him worthy of carrying on his brother’s LEGACY   .      He intended to do so to the best of his ability   ,   even if it hurt   .

Standing finally after what felt like too short of an eternity   ,   Tobirama cast one final glance down at the memory of his brother   ,   reddened eyes still blurry with tears   ,   before he reluctantly stepped to the side   .      There   ,   one of the elder councilmen muttered his quiet condolences before presenting Tobirama with the Hokage hat   .      It still bore the same red cloth that Hashirama had chosen to reflect his position   .      Red   —— —   the colour of BLOOD   .

He had a feeling it wouldn’t stay that way for long   .

It was only once he’d donned the hat atop his head that he was then sworn in as the new Hokage   .      Rather than cheer &&. applaud   ,   the villagers before him solemnly folded their hands together &&. bowed their heads   .      The sight of it brought forth one last tear from his eye   .      He was so grateful that the people of this village understood the weight carried by this day   .

Starting today   ,   Tobirama was not only the Nidaime Hokage   ,   but the chosen bearer of a SACRED FLAME that was destined to be passed down for many more generations to come   ,   a flame struck to life by none other than Hashirama Senju   ,   henceforth known as the GOD OF SHINOBI   .

He doesn’t.

He honestly doesn’t find that many things...funny? Most jokes go over his head without a shred of acknowledgement, while others he simply just doesn’t find very humorous. When he does find something amusing, it’s usually at someone else’s expense, or some very niche / obscure topic he has some particular insight into that would make certain remarks sound very hilarious to him.

For a long time, Tobirama didn’t foresee himself growing old at all. It just didn’t seem to be a likely probability when everyone around him was dying before they reached forty. He was surprised to have lasted as long as he did before the founding of the village. Even now, though, with the turbulent state of the world, Tobirama doubts that his lifespan has been extended by any significant amount.

(   &&. as it turns out, he was wrong. He lives to be about fifty-one years old, which is pretty good for someone who was sure he would die in his thirties.   )

He doesn’t fear growing old, though. He thinks old age is a commendable achievement signifying one’s strength &&. will.

Tobirama almost exclusively has nightmares. As mentioned in a previous headcanon, Tobirama’s sensory abilities are so potent that they remain active even when unconscious, often leading to overwhelming sensory input during slumber since he can’t consciously filter what he senses at any given point. this overstimulation of his senses &&. the frankly disturbing images that are translated into his dreams leads to subconscious stress that then leads to distinctly vivid nightmares.

it’s very rare that he ever has normal dreams. they’re always vaguely or definitively scary or threatening in some way, shape, or form. Tobirama would consider any bout of sleep from which he doesn’t wake in acute terror or a fit of tears a good rest.

To Tobirama / 🍓 : how is my muse typically seen by others? does it ring true to who they really are? does their reputation matter to them?

People tend to think Tobirama is an uncaring, unfeeling pessimist who is indifferent to the concept of emotions &&. only values logic, rationale, &&. hard facts. To a degree, this perception of him isn’t wholly unwarranted, seeing as he most certainly presents himself in that manner. He would rather people think of him as a stalwart pragmatist than an overtly emotional hot - head who lets his feelings get in the way of the objective. He thinks that this makes him appear more trustworthy &&. reliable, seeing as, in his opinion, most people would want to fight alongside &&. be led by someone who’s capable of keeping a level - head even in the most despairing of situations.

While it isn’t true that he’s totally unfeeling, his capacity for empathy &&. compassion has been greatly diluted thanks to his upbringing by Butsuma Senju. He was forced to accept taught from a very young age that one cannot allow himself to be swayed by the heart in times of war, &&. considering war is all he’d ever known prior to the founding of the village, he’s come to view that not as a potentiality, but an inevitability. As far as Tobirama is concerned, war is endless &&. every effort his brother has made toward peace is merely the beginning of a metaphorical relay race whose finish line they will not cross themselves. They are merely there to give future generations a head - start, a basis upon which to build an idealized vision of peace.

As much as he’d like to deny it, he does care about his reputation, if only a little. He isn’t particularly bothered if certain individuals have a low opinion of him, but overall, he wants to be seen as someone worthy of the title of Hokage, regardless of his affiliation with the Shodaime.
