hello, i am here to diagnose nadine with a fragrance.

first off, i'm giving them a silly one because it's nadine: minions by jequiti. yes, there is an actual minions perfume. i haven't smelled it in person, but i feel like it wouldn't be too bad. it's citrus forward, with notes of lavender, lemon, vanilla, mandarin, and violet leaves. pretty nice combination, in my opinion.

now, onto a serious one: my first instinct is to associate nadine with something citrus. it's bright and sunny and tends to invoke some high energy. cèdre secret from the memori collection by kenzo feels like an appropriate choice. i'm a big fan of kenzo generally because they feel really modern and a little edgy to me. (fun fact: the founder of kenzo also does some pretty cool interior design for hotels! his style is really sleek, almost futuristic, really fun all around.) kenzo as a brand has a rep for being (i hate this word, but lack of a better one) "quirky".

but back to the actual perfume - it's got orange blossom, cedarwood, and tonka bean - it's described as invoking happy memories of childhood, which i feel ties into nadine's actual abilities. now, i know they didn't have the best upbringing, but i wanted to give them something that would fill that void by mimicking a comforting feeling. a scent like this one, which is both fresh and warm, while also really youthful, feels suitable!

like nadine was always the weird kid. even when they were playing nice, and saying the "right things" or whatever. they were always the weird kid. there were nights were they would stay up crying because it felt like no matter what they did, everyone could always tell. and even if everyone else couldn't, they could. no matter how much they tried or how hard or what they tried, it would always be lying. so they just stopped fucking lying, no matter how desperate everyone else was for them to lie. for them to be easy to deal with. for them to fit in. for them to not be nadine.
