This area escaped the bombing on May 14, 1940, and now looks rather like a time capsule the way it is surrounded by modern Rotterdam architecture. On 1 August 1620 the Pilgrim fathers left Delfshaven with the Speedwell. Since then, the town's Oude Kerk (the spire is barely visible behind that large tree) has also been known as the Pelgrimskerk (Pilgrim Fathers Church). Wikipedia: Delfshaven
