"'This persistent fuel stoppage has disrupted essential services, including the operation of water wells and desalination plants, leaving over 1.2 million citizens and displaced individuals in Khan Younis without potable and usable water.'" (source)
There's a catastrophic water crisis in Gaza right now, with most people trying to survive off of 1-2L a day for drinking, cooking, & cleaning. The humanitarian standard during emergency times is 15L minimum (most people in the global north use anywhere from 80-350L daily). The job of filling up water usually falls to young kids & its incredibly difficult, especially when they're malnourished and losing more energy and more water than they can get back in a day.
Fuel shortages make water difficult to pump or transport -> limits where water points are and how many (far to walk, long queues)
Water lines/sewage lines continue to be damaged, wells continue being poisoned, aquifers contaminated (by sewage/seawater)
UNRWA being pushed out of Gaza + little to no aid coming through further limits water availability
Faten (@/familyfaten) & her family are dealing not only with a severe water shortage but severe dehydration now too.
She desperately hopes to raise enough funds to be able to buy 2 large water tanks (1000L each) that will provide water to her family, the 3 others currently renting out the same house, and ~30 other households in the area. The longer these shortages go on, the greater the need there will be for these water points. (vetted here, #289)
Please donate what you can spare, this is incredibly urgent, not just for Faten & her loved ones, but their neighbours too.
NOK Exchange: EURO (€10 = 117NOK) USD ($10 = 110NOK)

This was my home in Gaza…💔
The place where my family and I lived, filling its corners with memories and dreams. But the war left us with nothing; our home was bombed 🥺, and everything we owned turned to rubble. In the blink of an eye, we lost the place that sheltered us and the security that held us together as a family.😔
Today, we urgently need your support—not only to rebuild a place we can call ‘home’ but to regain a sense of safety and stability for my family. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help us start over and rebuild what the war destroyed.🙏🏻🍉🇵🇸
Thank you to everyone who supports us and stands by us during this difficult time. Your kindness is the hope that gives us strength to keep moving forward.🙏🏻❤️

Hello! I'm making this post to draw your attention to an important fundraiser. Eman is currently displaced with her children in Gaza, and is struggling to provide them with clean drinking water or food.
Despite the profound difficulties she is experiencing, Eman nevertheless dedicates a lot of her time to translating the campaigns of others in Gaza into English. She does this for Mohamed @moayesh, who helps run @gaza-evacuation-funds. She is the reason we are able to read the stories of the people spotlighted on this blog- if it weren't for her, a lot of people would be struggling a lot more to get traction and attention for their campaigns.
Eman was once an aid worker, but her livelihood was destroyed after October 7th. She initially started this fundraiser to evacuate with her children, but she was forced to use the money she had raised on her family's multiple displacements.
I humbly implore you to donate to her so that she can afford to provide for her children's basic needs. They are living without proper shelter, or regular access to safe food and drink. You can help make a material difference in this family's life- please consider donating and please reblog and share.
$5 CAD is equivalent to about $3.70 USD or 3.30 EUR. Your money can go a long way here!

Help Lina's family get through this week
Can you guess much it costs to survive a week in Gaza?
On Lina's (@linsaif) request, I'm making a new post breaking down her weekly costs, so people hopefully have a better understanding of what Palestinians are going through and require to survive.
Here's what Lina needs to purchase each week:
🍞 A 25kg bag of flour: 80 euros
🐣 Diapers: 60 euros
🍼 3 cartons of milk: 60 euros
🍅 Vegetables when available, and other supplies: 100 euros
💧 Water (for drinking, cleaning, and hygiene): 80 euros
= 380 euros per week for a threadbare existence for a family of four.
Except even just withdrawing money comes with a 30% fee.
Covering the fee, that brings us to 494€ per week. Now you see why Lina has been asking for 500€ short-term goals.
Lately, donations have slowed to a crawl. Lina is forgoing all other necessities in order to afford milk and diapers for her 9 month-old daughter, Sidra, who is suffering from severe diaper rash.
But good news! 🌻 Lina says Sidra's skin has begun healing thanks to your previous donations. Here she is with the diapers and milk that were bought with your generous help.
But please, don't let her healing come at the cost of the rest of the family being able to eat.
You've already done a lot of good for Lina and her family.
Can we get her family through this week?
Current date: November 11, 2024
0/500€
✅ Lina's vetting information here.
📝 Previous campaign details and posts here.
☕ For those without 5€ to spare, you can support Lina's family for the price of a coffee on ko-fi (organized by @cygnettes).

Guys PLEASE push Mohammed Ayesh’s fundraiser like I am actually imploring. He has done so much for so many Palestinian families, and yet the traction for his campaign dies so fast. He’s literally just a 20 something year old guy who’s going above and beyond to make sure all Palestinian families are being verified and helped. Please don’t abandon him so fast when he is suffering the same as everyone else. Please keep your eye on his campaign and take it upon yourself so share it again & again every time it seems like it needs a defibrillator

Survival in Gaza is a fight for everyone and everything, not just humans. Every living thing is caught up in this nightmare, from the smallest creatures to the strongest among us. Take this little cat, for instance. She’s from Jabalia refugee camp, Al-Tarens neighborhood, house number 96, sixth street. Yeah, I know her address. She’s one of us, a Palestinian too, sitting alone in the rubble, her fur matted and dusty, with a raw, swollen eye that speaks of all she’s been through. She’s lost her hearing; explosions shake her tiny frame, but she doesn’t even react anymore. And yet, her will to survive? Unbroken.
In so many ways, she’s Gaza in a nutshell. Life here is a brutal, endless test of endurance. The genocide, the bitter cold, the soaring prices that turn basic needs like food, shelter, medicine into unattainable luxuries. These are things my family and countless others can only dream of.
For families in Gaza, survival itself has become a privilege. Nonprofits that once helped have pulled out, forced away by the very forces that keep us oppressed. And the few who stayed? Acting as middlemen, diverting the aid that’s supposed to be for us. Some prioritize their own networks in distributing aid; others resell what little is sent. Some even claim that half of donations get eaten up by "logistics costs." And then there’s aid that supposedly just "never arrives." So, families like mine are left to fend for ourselves, stripped of even the basic dignity that comes with having our needs met.
I look at this little cat, and I’m struck by the fragility of life here. My family’s hanging by a thread, surviving day to day in a world that seems indifferent to everything we’re going through. And yet, like her, we just keep going. Not because we’re strong or resilient, but because, honestly, what other choice do we have?
If this hits home for you, if this little cat’s fight feels like something you understand, please consider helping. Every donation, no matter the amount, goes directly to where it’s needed most. It can mean a bit of warmth, a moment of safety, maybe even a sliver of hope in these times that feel darker than anything.
From a heart that’s been broken too many times, thank you for standing with us.

For those wondering what's happening in Amsterdam right now and hearing media bullshit about 'pogroms', let me break it down for ya:
Sunday, November 3rd: During the weekend, Israeli fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv arrive in Amsterdam in advance of the soccer match against Ajax to take place on Thurday. On the first night, a man wearing a kufiya is attacked and beaten up so bad that he is hospitalized. The incident is ignored by the media and the police.
Wednesday, November 6th: Maccabi fans remove Palestinian flags from buildings, burn the flags and intimidate the inhabitants. A taxi driver is attacked with metal chains. The police watch and do nothing. Fellow taxi drivers have to come to the victim's rescue. The incidents are ignored by the media.
Thursday afternoon, November 7th: Maccabi fans hold a pro-IDF rally, carrying IDF emblems and shouting 'destroy the arabs' and 'we will fuck the arabs'. Fans also return to further intimidate the inhabitants of buildings that they had targeted on Wednesday. The incident are ignored by the media and the police.
Thursday evening, November 7th: Maccabi fans are shouting the same slogans and intimidating people of color while moving through the Amsterdam metro, while other fans simultaneously disrupt a vigil for the victims of the floods in Spain. The incidents are ignored by the media and the police.
Thursday night, November 7th: Amsterdam youths successfully fight back against the Israeli's that have been terrorizing their city. Maccabi fans that had gathered for another night of violence are driven off in all directions. Some find shelter with the police.
Friday morning, November 8th: Ignoring everything that has happened before, the city council and the media go wild, declaring that a 'pogrom' has taken place against 'Jews' and that 'violent antisemitism' is making Amsterdam unsafe. Maccabi fans that were shouting 'death to arabs' a few hours ealier are giving teary-eyed interviews claiming they were afraid for their lives and were targetted for being Jewish. The city council bans all forms of protest for 3 days.
Saturday morning, November 9th: a group of Amsterdam antizionist Jews is forced to cancel their Kristallnacht/Novemberprogromme 1938 commemoration because of threats of violence from Maccabi fans. This is ignored by the media and the police.
