She wipes her eyes. “Is there anything about me you need to monitor?”

She smiles a little, though. “Well, I’m glad you’re getting along with Eno...”

“I’m still learning how to use the liquid myself. Any antidote is out of my reach for now.” They hum. “How about this. Let me study how it affects you, how you change with it. In return, I’ll…. work with Sung. Whether or not he’s whole. And I promise not to completely maim or kill him. But I’ll assist him in developing an antidote to the harvester essence’s effects.”

She nods. “Don’t harm a soul on this ship, and it’s a deal. But expect nothing else from me after this.”

She hopes they can’t tell how scared she is. She knows it’s a risk, but she hopes she can use this to get the upper hand, knowing where they’ll be at all times and hopefully able to find vantage points to make Ennui’s recovery easier.
