“I see it now,” she murmured after a long moment, voice quiet, careful.

Johnny blinked, dragging his gaze from the tree to her. “See what?”

Viví exhaled, slow, watching the way his expression shifted, something too tired, too old, too full of ghosts.

“Why they didn’t leave you.”

Johnny let out a short laugh, sharp, empty, bitter around the edges. “What?” He raised a brow, tilting his head. “Cause I’m a sentimental dick?”

Viví’s lips curled into something small, something almost sad. “No,” she said, shaking her head. “You’re human.” Johnny’s smirk flickered, there, then gone. She shrugged. “That’s pretty rare, ya know. Something to be proud of even.”

He looked away, back at the tree, exhaling sharply through his nose, jaw tight, shoulders tense. “Don’t go getting sentimental on me now,” he muttered, voice rougher than before, like something had lodged in his throat. “Doesn’t suit you.”

Viví huffed a soft laugh, shaking her head. “Oh, you’re just so charming, aren’t you?”

Johnny smirked, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. Still, he didn’t argue. Didn’t push her away. Just stood there beside her, watching the wind move through the branches, carrying whispers of people long gone. The silence between them didn’t feel like absence, for once, it felt like understanding.

I've gotten basically all the endings in this game and I can safely say I will never finish Cyberpunk again. I will play until all the quests are funished, wander around a bit, pet nibbles, listen to Johnny play guitar. Then when the run is completely dry and there is absolutely nothing left, I'll delete the save and start over.

This game has made me cry so many times, and the endings leave me feeling hollow. I'd rather V just live their life as well as they can, then slip into the void somewhere. I get that's the point, that the endings are supposed to be shit. But I've been playing this game for 5 years. I've seen them enough.
