The one line that forever made me choose So Mi's side.
"I …. kept hoping." It was this line that broke me. Songbird has been trapped, damaged and alone for so long. Unable to trust, unable to escape. So she gambled her chance on an outsider, hoping she would finally be free. Thats why V's betrayal hurts her so much. If the outsider too betrays her, then she is truly alone, her last hope demolished and perhaps death is her only release. So no matter her lie, I will choose So Mi's side every time. Every single time, even if I have to walk upon the corpse of Reed, even I have to walk upon the corpses of hundreds of NUSA soldiers, even if I have to be an enemy of State, I will still choose to give eher her freedom.

My non binary Tiefling Tav and their fav Golden plate armor clad squad, ready to kill Gortash and the Absolute. I just love the fact that all act 1 female characters are heavy armored fighters and clerics while all act 1 male characters are mages and rogue.

Damn I didnt realise before but a few things I noticed that surprised me.
1. When Miles,Gwen and Hobie were entering the spider society, all the spiders acknowledged Gwen and Hobie ,but none of them even greeted Miles, didnt even say a hello to him, while Miles was trying his best to mingle. Yet on one order of Miguel, they banded together to capture Miles, as if their life depended on it.
2. When Gwen was ejected from Spider Society by Miguel, her parting words were " We are supposed to be the good guys." And the Miguel, as if convincing himself, says "We are" twice and not a single peep of agreement. Dude all the spiders just saw you trying to rip apart a dimensional barrier just to hurt a kid and become authoritarian because someone disobeyed you. Who are you trying to convince you are a good guy except yourself?

One thing that Miles said that stuck with me was this "So we should just let people die, because of some algorithm that says thats supposed to happen. You realise how messed up that sounds." This lit a thought in me, WHO DESIGNED THIS ALGORITHM? The algorithm seems to model on existing tragedies of spidermen and seems to weaponize it by making them some sort of required endpoints that every Spider hero must suffer. Maybe I am far off, but does anyone know what happened to Olivia Octavius? Last we saw her hit by a truck while fighting within the dimensional breach. She was the one who designed the collider and Spot too knows about that particular collider design. The event that wiped out Miguel's daughter's universe is odd considering how in the world one non canon event can do this.
I think whoever designed that algorithm has something to do behind the scenes.
And another thing if canon event disruption wipes out a universe, why wasn't Earth 42 , whose spider canon was completely destroyed, isn't wiped out?
What happens if all the spiders of each universe are collected in one place, then turned against their very essence of heroism and against each other and in a single event, every single Spider person is wiped out? Leaving all these universes bereft of spider person. Who benefits the most from this?

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions." This was my thought when watching Miguel O'Hara in the movie Spiderman: across the spiderverse. A man concerned in preventing spatial collapse of dimensions and in turn using strict algorithm to determine the so called " canon events". All of it stemed from his failure of saving his adopted daughter because he made a genuine choice of replacing her father, to live a life of happiness only to be faced with destruction of the world. With that event, he turned cold and ruthless, determined with a singular mind to prevent such dimensional collapse.
With that in mind, Miguel O'hara considers our Miles Morales of earth 1610 an anomaly. Miles wasn't supposed to be spiderman. Peter Parker wasn't supposed to die. Yet circumstances beyond their control happened. And Peter Parker chose to save Miles and pass his legacy to him. Its wasn't Miles conscious choice to be a Spiderman. But circumstances led him to be one. So its not by his choice that Miles became Spiderman, but Miles still made that leap of faith and chose to uphold that legacy, and he did a damn fine job with it.
Therein comes an inherent concept of tragedy in the life of spider people. Every Spider person has suffered from a tragedy and it became a part of their life. Doesn't mean it always has to be. Why tragedy was part of their life because no one ever ran with the same pace. They had to carry the burden of saving people alone with no one to share it with. But if you can share that burden with someone, then tragedy can be prevented. It isnt tragedy that makes someone a hero, its their own wish and nature that makes them so.
There comes the canon event of Pavitr. In his canon, he has to choose saving that bus over that police officer, resulting in a tragedy in his life. That is if he was alone. But he had people to support him there. So Pavitr shouldn't be a spiderman since tragedy didn't strike him? Pavitr is a spiderman because he embodies the very concept of spiderman " The friendly neighborhood guy who has the responsibility of saving the little people because he has the power to do so."
Miguel in his aim of greater good, turned the act of saving into ruthless calculus. Let some people die for the greater good. And that destroys the concept of spiderman, the one who saves people because it is the right thing to do. It honestly reminds me of Kiritsugu Emiya.
So I hope by the end of series Miguel realises that act of saving shouldn't be a matter of ruthless calculus but a matter of our choice and responsibility.

fantastic rebuttal to "writers don't deserve better pay because the stuff they write is terrible/unoriginal", full thread here
(to explain, the "Unknown" under his name is from a add-on bot detector; it usually can assign a percentage likelihood that a user is a human being and not a bot, but I think the blue check system disrupted the add-on so it says "Unknown" underneath his name now.)
[image id under the read more:
May 7, 2023 tweet thread from Tom Vaughan @/storyandplot
With #WGAStrong rightfully in the spotlight this week, I've seen some less-than-sympathetic comments focusing on the lack of originality in our projects. This is a fair criticism of the system, but not the writers. A quick history of how we got here (thread emoji)
The first thing to understand is that Hollywood has NOT run out of new ideas. The studio’s preference for I.P. has nothing to do with regurgitating ideas and everything to do with MARKETING.
The late 60s-70s is generally considered the artistic high of the studio system. Ironically, many contribute this to corporations buying up the studios! The corporations knew they had no idea how to run a movie studio, so... they put creative people in charge.
This is how you got the run of so many great films the studios would never make today. They also took bigger chances on young, promising talent (the first "film school generation" of filmmakers.)
But with the success of JAWS and STAR WARS, the corporations demanded more of those kinds of hits. The creative folks insisted such things were unpredictable, and the business folks said let's make them less so.
(Sidenote: This was also the same time a completely different phenomenon was happening. A/C was becoming the norm for theatres, making summer movie-going much more attractive.)
Over the next decade, more and more MBAs and marketing people gained influence in the studio system. Being business folks, huge hits were not a creative problem as much as a product/marketing problem.
The 80s is when the “high concept” became pre-eminent because it narrowed a sales pitch to one sentence, a trailer, and a poster. This made everyone a marketing agent for a movie because everyone could explain what it was about!
In the 90s, marketing became just as important as the film itself (reflected in their respective budgets) when Hollywood discovered they could profit from fifty years of pre-existing awareness for old TV shows and movies.
This allowed the marketing department to move away from pitching a movie and convincing you to go see it (lower success rate), to simple “audience awareness” and building anticipation. (higher success rate.)
The audience knew what THE FLINSTONES the movie was. They just needed to know the casting and when it opened. No one needed to have the remake of GODZILLA explained to them. They just needed to know when it opened.
The marketing department prefers AWARNESS over SELLING because awareness is something you can throw money at. Selling is harder, and it’s less predictable. This is why franchises are so valuable.
Whenever someone says, “That’s something I can sell!” It’s usually something that can sell itself. What they mean is, "I just have to let people know about this!"
Hollywoods's reliance on property the audience is already familiar with is 100% because... the audience is already familiar with it. It is easier to market the product and this increases its chances of success.
This focus on I.P. has become so pervasive, many, including executives themselves, have forgotten WHY it's valuable. They'll option an unknown comic BECAUSE it's I.P., forgetting that it's unknown and lacks the main asset of I.P.
Writers do love writing on an I.P. that means something to them. Every Star Wars fan who became a filmmaker would love to work in that universe. But we do not love it more than our own original work. We would always rather work on that.
So when you see another remake, or reboot, or adaptation, and think, "Can't they come up with something new?"
Remember, the answer is yes. Yes, we can. And we want to. You can blame the market or the marketing, but either way, the widespread production of truly original content is just not the studio business model we're in right now. #WGAStrong

Once again, Tumblr fandom never ceases to amaze me with the lack of reading comprehension regarding Endeavor. Let’s count the ways
“Endeavor failed at another thing. He’s gonna get people killed because he apparently drew Touya to civilians”
Did people seriously forget that Endeavor was trying to lure Touya away from people so he wouldn’t burn anything? He just learned that Touya was gonna explode in a matter of minutes. Also its like people keep overlooking that Endeavor has this uncanny coincidence to be near the point of exhaustion and passing out when he encounters Touya. He just came out of a battle with AFO that took his arm and part of his torso. He had no way of taking him farther away.
“Endeavor still doesn’t care about Touya”
Man is not throwing hands with his own son, he’s pleading for him to turn off his flames so he doesn’t blow himself and everyone up nearby.
“Touya was the perfect child all along. Endeavor failed again”
Did people miss this? Endeavor knows he didn’t awaken here. He’s about to die and the ice trait manifested like so. Endeavor’s horrified that Touya had ice powers all along but he could only do so by being pushed to near death. That’s pure irony.
“He still hasn’t accepted responsibility for what he’s done”
Fucking perfect. Endeavor, no matter if he fumbled here or there during his arc, knows he fucked up. He never once tries to blame any of his victims for what he did despite people thinking he’s like abusers out there who try to gaslight, deflect, etc. No, fuck you. Man here is accepting that the shit going down is his fault. Idc if you hate him, man here has my respect for accepting that the consequences are hitting him here and he doesn’t turn away. If you still think he’s the same hate-filled man from the Sports Festival I’m sorry but you don’t accept character growth it seems.
“He’s taking the coward’s way out”
My “friend”, did you miss the part where he’s 800m away from the other heros and who knows how far away from nearby cities? He has no method of cooling his son off. Shoto’s not here and he has no way to reach Rei, Fuyumi, or Natsuo who might have a way to cool off Toya. All he knew, he’s effectively alone here about to see his son turn into Hiroshima 2.0. He’s willing to die with his son all while making sure no one gets killed. How is that him being a “coward” and not shouldering responsibility? If he was truly a coward, he’d say fuck everyone and fly away while Touya blows up. This is him being a father right here.
And finally Rei…
Do people seriously think she’s willing to only save one of these 2? The same woman who while still being in the psych ward said that she knows her husband is changing and knows he wants to make amends. The same woman who went to her injured husband and not only told him to stop pitying himself but also gave him the strength to not quit and get back out there to save their son and civilians. Why do people still have this headcanon that she wants her formerly abusive husband to die? She wants Enji and Touya both to live.
I swear, every week on here it’s like the takes for Enji just tank and tank so hard its not even funny anymore. Its sad.

Respawn writers better not do any other shenanigans
Or I will literally drop a meteor on their HQ (metaphorically)
No seriously Fusehound is a lore accurate, canon beautifully developed relationship. I may not be queer, but Fusehound just gives the fuzziest feels and vibes to me. A relationship developed properly based on trust and love and understanding and cooperation and bonding over emotional trauma and healing together over close to 5 or 6 seasons. SO the apex writers better not introduce any worthless elements to affect their relationship. Their relationship is not Highschool BS, Its an aged mature responsible romance. One beautiful almost canon romance was ruined and replaced with highschool rebound romance. So they better not mess it up.

The funny thing about both Chantry and ELves about their gods
One thing I find extremely funny after Inquisition ends that those who actually preach and shout about their Gods are the ones actually chasing a fairy tale or exagerrating lies and using those lies to commit heinous activities yet the one who don't preach about their Gods have an actual divine being.
The Chantry goes on about Andraste and Maker and how Maker created the Veil to prevent Spirits and how the Magisters entered Golden city and Maker punished them with Blight when all their preaching is literally false. Solas created the Veil and Blight existed long before the Magisters entered Fade. Only stupid thing they did was open the quarantine zone of Blight.
The Dalish elves are so insistent on following their gods and traditions related to them yet it turns out their gods were just extremely powerful Elven Mages who literally enslaved and tortured them and participated in unnecessary wars causing bloodshed of highest level.
Yet the Dwarves who just follow the Stone but never go around preaching or talling tall stories about the Stone actually have a being very close to being a God. I mean Titans literally were their progenitors and the original shaper of world, literal Reality Enforcer, A balancer of Fade and Physical world. This function is basically what a God does, Shape the world.

The hypocrisy of Solas while talking to a Dwarven Inquisitor
Recently I was playing as a dwarf female with high approval Solas and while the trespasser end dialogue was happening, when Solas talked how creating the veil destroyed Elvehnan and how he will do everything to bring back his people? At that point I was just reminded of the hypocrisy of his statement.
He talks about ruining of Kingdoms to a Dwarf. You Evanuris and ancient elves caused the entire downfall of Dwarven people. It was the greed of these Evanuris to manipulate Fade that caused you to wage the so called ancient war against Titans and Dwarves. Then since the Evanuris can't beat them in direct battle, they resorted to trickery, went inside a Titan, destroyed its heart and then manipulated the Song to make them asleep. You caused Dwarves to lose their magic and forced them underground and then took over the body so that you can have limitless supply of lyrium, required to map and mainpulate the Fade and fuse it with Physical world.
Then because of the killed Titan, Red Lyrium is created which is perhaps the reason for Blight and Darkspawn. And then you lock them in some underground and Fade prison combined with a Lock of Archdemons and the Dwarves had to pay the price for it. The Dwarven kingdom is literally on the verge of Extinction. Out of 12 great Thaigs, only 2 are prominent and one has been recently claimed. God the crisis of Dwarven Empire is just heartbreaking. The humans don't have to worry about Darkspawn attacking them every day because the Legion of Dead keep on fighting, losing so many people that its painful to hear.
Solas told that after waking up in present era, he felt like walking among Tranquils, well your People turned Dwarves into literal Tranquils for 9 Millenias. Unable to dream, unable to do magic, the way you felt is the way the Dwarves have been feeling for the last nine millenia.
For other inquisitors I didn't feel this hypocrisy, but for a Dwarven Inquisitor, the hypocrisy of his situation felt real. The Dwarves should also seek all the Titans, raise them and then gain complete control of the Physical world and Fade then, if you are willing to do anything to get your People, right, Solas. Because the Titans and Dwarves were the original residents of the World, You elves were just Spirits who manifested themselves into being and then tried to conquer the World for yourselves.

Some of my thoughts regarding the History of the world[dai spoilers]
So I have played only Dragon Age Inquisition so my knowledge comes from that game only. Please refute my points if you will find them to be wrong and give proper explanations because I will love to hear what you guys think about these speculations.
Origin of the species: so with going through various codex entries, I believe how elves and dwarves came to be. Elves are someone like Cole, spirits who willfully manifested a solid form to live in the world. They come from Fade, which explains their inherent behavior in the Crossroads because being familair with fade in encoded in their genetic structure. And just like Cole, with passage of time they developed more intricate emotions. But their primal emotions still remained true, Like Solas's never ending high horse Pride emotion emanating from him. Dwarves on the other hand came from stone, or should I say Titans. They were I think ina a way constructed from Clay and given a life sort of thing, thus their inherent way of feeling close to stone or close to the sleeping Titans.
Titans true role: I speculate that Titans are Reality Enforcers or you can say them as Balancers. They maintain a balance between the Fade and the Real World. They ensure a balance exists between Imagination and Reality. The key to this, Lyrium. We know that Lyrium allows the mages to create a connection with the Fade and allow them to change the real world. But in case of Templars, it allows them to connect to Titans and prevent the real world from changing too much due to the effect of Fade. Thus Lyrium can perform both kind of functions. It allows the Mages to turn more of the Reality into Imagination but allows the Templars to prevent the Reality from being too much affected by Imagination.
Reason of war between the Titans and Evanuris: So as of my previous speculation, if Titans are Reality Enforcers, that means eventually with passage of time, as Elves gained power, they wanted to affect more of reality, allowing them more freedom to manipulate the Reality into something they wish for. But Titans are Balancers, they allow enough of world to exist along with fade. This was a problem in the eyes of Evanuris and the Elves. The Titans weren't allowing them to conquer all of Reality and and manipulate it as they wished. Thus the war began along with another reason that if Evanuris needed to upset the Balance and allow Fade to completely flood the Reality, they needed an infinte supply of Lyrium.
The War Strategem: As much as the Evanuris propaganda of "completely annihilating our enemies" is false, the war simply wasn't that easy one. No matter how powerful of a Spirit you are, you are simply incapable of fighting a planet. So the Evanuris weren't actually winning the war until Mythal concoted the plan. They didn't need to defeat all Titans, if they can manage to kill one with subterfuge, they can find a way to subdue others. So they work to defeat one particular Titan, maybe the one under Kirkwall and then they enter its heart chamber and listen to the song it uses to communicate with other Titans and Dwarves. From that Song, they corrupt the song in a manner that it literally tells the other Titans to go to eternal sleep, as if their life's work is done. When the other Titans went to Sleep, their role as Balancers was invoked, that means the fade can now completely engulf the World, allowing the Evanuris to completely conquer Reality and manipulate it to their desires.
The aftereffects: But letting a Dead God's wounds fester is a problematic thing. We know if blood is allowed to coagulate and not flow, they become hard and flithy. Same thing happened to the Dead Titan. The Evanuris got an infinte supply of Lyrium now that the One Titan is dead. They might have also carved out pieces of Titan's heart and used it to carve their Elven Orbs or Foci, which allows them to allow the Fade into engulfing Reality and destroy the Barriers between Real World and Fade. But this act of letting a dead Titan's wounds fester eventually caused Blood Coagulation, or Lyrium Coagulation and this Coagulated Lyrium overtime turned into something called Red Lyrium. Now here's the thing,Red Lyrium causes Blight, not the other way around. The first creatures who were constantly getting exposed to the super potent Red Lyrium directly created from Dead Titan's blood, developed mutations due to constant exposure which ultimately led to creation of a disease known as Blight.
So these are some of my thoughts. Maybe with your debates, I can find some more clues and I might post some other thoughts I still have. But there is one lingering question in my head:
If Elves were Spirits given Solid form and Dwarves were progeny of Titans, what are Humans? Are they simply the original species of the world or their origin is somehow different ? Why does Solas believe that Humans will be affected the most on opening the veil when at the time of Arlathan, Humans weren't in their Radar and opening the veil might cause something unexpected to Humans?

Possible clues to orb of destruction true origins
So the orb of destruction, the one Solas gave to Corypheus which possessed the power to manipulate the veil is one of the many possessed by the ancient elves, especially the Evanuris. Although Solas said they were Elven in origin, I believe it is not that simple.
Many posts suggest that these Orbs may have come from Titans and after careful consideration, I too believe that.
We now know that Titans used to act as Reality Enforcers or Balancers of world. They ensured a balance existed between the Fade and Real World. Thus they were the most capable of manipulating how much of Fade can affect Real World. The ancient Elves or the Evanuris weren't capable of manipulating this balance at all, that is one of the reason why they waged war against the Titans.
Veil as a construct possibly existed before Solas's action as well I think. I consider Veil as a membrane. The current veil that Solas created is a complete Non Permeable membrane, i.e it doesn't allow any passage between Fade and Real World. But before the Titans were defeated, Veil existed too, only as a Semi Permeable or Permeable membrane thus the Titans could balance how much of passage between Fade and Real World can happen. Evanuris including Solas only know the extremes, either complete Permeability or Non Permeabilty. And they could perform this if they can have an artifact that can mimic this effect. And the only thing that can do that is the Titans' Heart.
And all the orbs come from the same place, the heart of the Titan whom Mythal and other Evanuris killed. Since they wanted to mainpulate the Fade, they could have torn apart the Titan's heart like the one we saw in Descent dlc and used the heart fragments to create these Orbs which allowed them to merge Fade and Reality. The enchantment of manipulating the Fade lies in the heart fragment, but the power is put through by the Evanuris themselves.
But if the Titan's heart was torn, then the blood flowing across its body(i.e lyrium) will stagnate and clotted lyrium will eventually turn into Red Lyrium. This clotted lyrium would have eventually caused the infection that resulted in formation of Blight.
The red lyrium idol might be one of those Titans heart kind of thing, and maybe Solas needs it because it would act as another Orb for him to manipulate the veil.

The concept of Gold in the world of Elden Ring
So there is a concept that I have been pondering over a lot with regards to Elden Ring lore, i.e the concept of various kinds of Gold and maybe significance of other metals in the metaphysical sense. In the game we have come across three kinds of Gold- Primordial Gold, Gold associated with Golden Order and Unalloyed Gold. Lets find items related to these three types of gold:
Primordial Gold: The color motif associated with this is a reddish hue. That is quite commonly associated with a metal commonly used.
Ordovis's Greatsword - Greatsword of Ordovis, one of the two honored as foremost among the Crucible Knights. This sword is imbued with an ancient holy essence. Its red tint exemplifies the nature of primordial gold, said to be close in nature to life itself.
**Siluria's Tree-**Siluria's Tree, weapon of one of the two honored as foremost among the Crucible Knights. The primordial form of the Erdtree is close in nature to life itself, and this spear, modeled on its crucible, is imbued with ancient holy essence.
Crucible Hornshield -Greatshield of red-tinged gold carried by Crucible Knights. Features a great horn. An ancient holiness dwells within. The crucible horn skewers foes when performing shield bashes.
This is the Crucible axe set. Notice the tint of the armor which also closely resembles the red tint, associated with Primordial gold.
This is the crucible tree set. Same thing as above.
These items that are associated with the crucible knights have a reddish tint. Similar to a metal we know and is extensively used in our day to day life. Copper. The primordial gold is said to be extracted from the Crucible, which was basically a foundry of creation. The world prior to Erdtree was chaotic in a way there was no defined set of rules governing the world and this crucible, which was a cauldron for differing ideas provided the first base for creating life. Just like Copper was the first metal used by Mankind for its usage.
Gold associated with Golden order and Erdtree: The color motif associated with this is the actual golden color. the bright yellowish hue that is assocaited with the precious metal i.e Gold.
Sacred Relic Sword -Sword wrought from the remains of a god who should have lived a life eternal. Thoughts on what the weapon portends are many and varied. Some consider it the mark of a great sin, or a sign of great devastation. Some think of it as the end of an age, while others; the beginning.
Inseparable Sword -Sword forged by compounding silver and gold.A sacred weapon to hunt Those Who Live in Death.Deals holy damage. The inseparable twins found solace in the Golden Order, the only institution not to revile them as accursed beings.
Twinned Armor-Armor depicting entwined twins of gold and silver. The two known as D are inseparable twins. They are of two bodies and two minds, but one single soul. Not once do they stand together; not one word do they speak to one another. Perhaps this armor longs to find its way to the other D.
Golden Halberd- Weighty halberd forged of gold. Wielded by the Order of Tree Sentinels, heavily equipped knights. Deals holy damage. A masterfully crafted weapon that lives up to its heft, but is difficult for one mere human strength to wield.
Erdtree Greatshield Weighty greatshield forged of gold carried by the order of Tree Sentinels, heavily equipped knights. Blessed by an old incantation of protection. The living rampart of the Erdtree, the Tree Sentinels are the standard to which all defenders of the Erdtree aspire.
Tree Sentinel Armor -Golden armor of the heavy cavalry Tree Sentinels who serve the Erdtree. Adorned with a cape featuring the mark of the sacred tree. Imposingly sturdy and nigh unbreakable, the grace of old yet lingers.
Notice that all the items I mentioned are actually made of Gold, Gold that is specifically extracted from Erdtree. Thus everyting related to Erdtree(like Erdtree incantations ) and Golden Order( like Golden Order incantations) are associated with this particular motif and is considered to be the symbol of order in Lands Between.
Unalloyed gold: The color motif associated with it is dull gold or a dull yellowish hue that is associated with pure gold that hasn't been alloyed with other metals.
Unalloyed Gold Needle -An intricately crafted needle of unalloyed gold, snapped in half. A ritual implement crafted to ward away the meddling of outer gods, it is thought capable of forestalling the incurable rotting sickness.
**Miquella's Needle-**One of the unalloyed gold needles that Miquella crafted to ward away the meddling of outer gods. Capable of subduing the flame of frenzy if inherited, allowing one to cheat fate and avoid becoming Lord of Frenzied Flame. However, the needle is as yet unfinished and can only be used in the heart of the storm beyond time said to be found in Faram Azula.
Haligtree Crest Greatshield -Metal greatshield depicting the Haligtree with unalloyed gold. Carried by knights who have vowed to serve Miquella's Haligtree. Possesses high holy damage negation. Yet now, with the Haligtree misshapen, this wondrous rendition is a fleeting fantasy.
Miquellan Knight's Sword -Sword forged by servants of Miquella of the Haligtree, with a design modeled after those carried by Carian knights. Instead of glintstone however, amber from the Haligtree is embedded in the blade. A sumptuous piece, yet it has never been offered to any knight — an ill-starred sword with no master.
Malenia's Armor -Armor made of unalloyed gold. Worn by Malenia, Blade of Miquella. Malenia awaited Miquella at the foot of the husk. "My brother will keep his promise. He possesses the wisdom, the allure, of a god - he is the most fearsome Empyrean of all."
Hand of Malenia- Blade built into Malenia's prosthetic arm. Through consecration it is resistant to rot.Malenia's war prosthesis symbolized her victories. Some claim to have seen wings when the weapon was raised aloft; wings of fierce determination that have never known defeat.
Valkyrie's Prosthesis- Golden prosthesis once used by the one-armed valkyrie. A masterwork of craftsmanship, with practice and skill it can be used as proficiently as a real arm. When Maleigh Marais, Lord of the Shaded Castle, embraced this prosthesis, he claimed to feel the presence of his personal goddess.
Haligtree Knight Helm- Helm worn by knights sworn to the Haligtree. Graced by a crown of unalloyed gold.Increases faith.
Here notice the color motif of items. They are dull gold. The unalloyed gold is supposedly extracted from the Haligtree i.e Haligtree sap is the unalloyed gold. But it is dulled because haligtree never reached its full potential of growing into something that could rival the Erdtree. Thus it never reached the perfection it was supposed to reach.
So what was the point of showing all these?
It was to suggest that gold is very much related to trees. Its the sap of the trees that is responsible for creation of all kinds of gold. The tree is very much related to an alchemical cauldron.
The Primordial gold( or Copper which is a lower rung metal in alchemy) was created from the Crucible, from the first experiments on creating life, which was chaotic in nature and thus hadn't reached a level of perfection.
Then comes the Elden beast which consumes the crucible and with its power, circumvents and perfects the process to create the Erdtree, whose sap is considered the Gold( which signifies the perfection of Alchemical process) that is associated with order( and everything related to Elden Beast- the Erdtree incantations and items, the Golden order Incantations and items). This basically suggest that Elden Beast restricted the natural process of creating order from chaos which would eventually have reached from the crucible had not the Elden Beast consumed and circumvented the process, thus assuming a direct control on cauldron of life.
Then comes Miquella, the greatest genius of Lands Between, who studied the Golden Order and Erdtree and himself invented Golden Order spells like Discus of light or rings of light and understood the true process of the alchemical cauldron that created Erdtree. But since an outside influence perfected the process of alchemy in the Crucible, Miquella devised a way to replace it with a process that is derived from the world itself. Thus comes Unalloyed Gold which is basically the sap of the Haligtree. But if Miquella had not been kidnapped by Mohg and perfectly have grown the Haligtree, the unallyed Gold will have reached the perfection it was intended for and then it would be capable of opposing the Gold from the Erdtree i.e Haligtree would have co -opted and consumed the crucible which is directly related to the life force of the world and it would have still reached the level of perfection (in alchemical terms) but without any outside influence.
That is the reason why Malenia considered Miquella the most fearsome of all Empyrean and Gideon didn't want him to wake up. Its because Miquella is so intelligent that he reverse engineered the creation process that governed the world and was circumvented by Elden Beast and Greater Will and used it to create an alchemical process to reach perfection of Gold, that means it could replace the entire world structure that was co-opted from the crucible by the Erdtree and replace with Haligtree such that it can essentially allow him to banish the planes from which any Outer god can influence the world.
That is also the reason why Miquella's needle can only be used in Placidusax's arena. Since that arena is locked away in a time where Erdtree was not created and the Crucible still goverened the world, that means Miquella's needle can tap into the Crucible and perfectly reach the pinnacle it was meant to reach.
There is also another metal that has been in Elden Ring that can be considered precious in our world but it is always hampered by the brillinace of Gold. i.e Silver.
Silver Tear Husk: A hardened husk shed by a formless life form known as the Silver Tear, found in and around the Eternal City. Material used for crafting items. The Silver Tear makes mockery of life, reborn again and again into imitation. Perhaps, one day, it will be reborn a lord.
Silver Tear Mask: Mask fashioned from the corpse of a formless Silver Tear, supported by its hardened, shed husk. Greatly increases arcane to the detriment of physical attack power. To imitate the imitator is a cunning play indeed.
Mimic Tear Ashes - Legendary ashen remains. Use to summon the spirit of a mimic tear. Summoning consumes HP rather than FP. This spirit takes the form of the summoner to fight alongside them, but its mimicry does not extend to imitating the summoner's will. Mimic tears are the result of an attempt by the Eternal City to forge a lord.
Larval Tear -Core of a creature of mimicry known as a silver tear. As much as a substance as it is a living organism. Material required by the amber egg cradled by Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, to birth people anew.
See all these suggests that the Eternal city tried to replicate the process of alchemical perfection of Gold that Erdtree and Elden Beast had reached so that they can rival them. But just like Silver mimics the brilliance of gold and never reaches the same level of perfection, the Silver related items also never reached quite the level of perfection to rival the Gold of Erdtree.
So guys, what are your thoughts?
