And Sapadal is so cute and innocent. They really need someone empathizing and guiding and helping them.

The one line that forever made me choose So Mi's side.
"I …. kept hoping." It was this line that broke me. Songbird has been trapped, damaged and alone for so long. Unable to trust, unable to escape. So she gambled her chance on an outsider, hoping she would finally be free. Thats why V's betrayal hurts her so much. If the outsider too betrays her, then she is truly alone, her last hope demolished and perhaps death is her only release. So no matter her lie, I will choose So Mi's side every time. Every single time, even if I have to walk upon the corpse of Reed, even I have to walk upon the corpses of hundreds of NUSA soldiers, even if I have to be an enemy of State, I will still choose to give eher her freedom.

My non binary Tiefling Tav and their fav Golden plate armor clad squad, ready to kill Gortash and the Absolute. I just love the fact that all act 1 female characters are heavy armored fighters and clerics while all act 1 male characters are mages and rogue.

Damn I didnt realise before but a few things I noticed that surprised me.
1. When Miles,Gwen and Hobie were entering the spider society, all the spiders acknowledged Gwen and Hobie ,but none of them even greeted Miles, didnt even say a hello to him, while Miles was trying his best to mingle. Yet on one order of Miguel, they banded together to capture Miles, as if their life depended on it.
2. When Gwen was ejected from Spider Society by Miguel, her parting words were " We are supposed to be the good guys." And the Miguel, as if convincing himself, says "We are" twice and not a single peep of agreement. Dude all the spiders just saw you trying to rip apart a dimensional barrier just to hurt a kid and become authoritarian because someone disobeyed you. Who are you trying to convince you are a good guy except yourself?

One thing that Miles said that stuck with me was this "So we should just let people die, because of some algorithm that says thats supposed to happen. You realise how messed up that sounds." This lit a thought in me, WHO DESIGNED THIS ALGORITHM? The algorithm seems to model on existing tragedies of spidermen and seems to weaponize it by making them some sort of required endpoints that every Spider hero must suffer. Maybe I am far off, but does anyone know what happened to Olivia Octavius? Last we saw her hit by a truck while fighting within the dimensional breach. She was the one who designed the collider and Spot too knows about that particular collider design. The event that wiped out Miguel's daughter's universe is odd considering how in the world one non canon event can do this.
I think whoever designed that algorithm has something to do behind the scenes.
And another thing if canon event disruption wipes out a universe, why wasn't Earth 42 , whose spider canon was completely destroyed, isn't wiped out?
What happens if all the spiders of each universe are collected in one place, then turned against their very essence of heroism and against each other and in a single event, every single Spider person is wiped out? Leaving all these universes bereft of spider person. Who benefits the most from this?

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions." This was my thought when watching Miguel O'Hara in the movie Spiderman: across the spiderverse. A man concerned in preventing spatial collapse of dimensions and in turn using strict algorithm to determine the so called " canon events". All of it stemed from his failure of saving his adopted daughter because he made a genuine choice of replacing her father, to live a life of happiness only to be faced with destruction of the world. With that event, he turned cold and ruthless, determined with a singular mind to prevent such dimensional collapse.
With that in mind, Miguel O'hara considers our Miles Morales of earth 1610 an anomaly. Miles wasn't supposed to be spiderman. Peter Parker wasn't supposed to die. Yet circumstances beyond their control happened. And Peter Parker chose to save Miles and pass his legacy to him. Its wasn't Miles conscious choice to be a Spiderman. But circumstances led him to be one. So its not by his choice that Miles became Spiderman, but Miles still made that leap of faith and chose to uphold that legacy, and he did a damn fine job with it.
Therein comes an inherent concept of tragedy in the life of spider people. Every Spider person has suffered from a tragedy and it became a part of their life. Doesn't mean it always has to be. Why tragedy was part of their life because no one ever ran with the same pace. They had to carry the burden of saving people alone with no one to share it with. But if you can share that burden with someone, then tragedy can be prevented. It isnt tragedy that makes someone a hero, its their own wish and nature that makes them so.
There comes the canon event of Pavitr. In his canon, he has to choose saving that bus over that police officer, resulting in a tragedy in his life. That is if he was alone. But he had people to support him there. So Pavitr shouldn't be a spiderman since tragedy didn't strike him? Pavitr is a spiderman because he embodies the very concept of spiderman " The friendly neighborhood guy who has the responsibility of saving the little people because he has the power to do so."
Miguel in his aim of greater good, turned the act of saving into ruthless calculus. Let some people die for the greater good. And that destroys the concept of spiderman, the one who saves people because it is the right thing to do. It honestly reminds me of Kiritsugu Emiya.
So I hope by the end of series Miguel realises that act of saving shouldn't be a matter of ruthless calculus but a matter of our choice and responsibility.

fantastic rebuttal to "writers don't deserve better pay because the stuff they write is terrible/unoriginal", full thread here
(to explain, the "Unknown" under his name is from a add-on bot detector; it usually can assign a percentage likelihood that a user is a human being and not a bot, but I think the blue check system disrupted the add-on so it says "Unknown" underneath his name now.)

May 7, 2023 tweet thread from Tom Vaughan @/storyandplot
With #WGAStrong rightfully in the spotlight this week, I've seen some less-than-sympathetic comments focusing on the lack of originality in our projects. This is a fair criticism of the system, but not the writers. A quick history of how we got here (thread emoji)
The first thing to understand is that Hollywood has NOT run out of new ideas. The studio’s preference for I.P. has nothing to do with regurgitating ideas and everything to do with MARKETING.
The late 60s-70s is generally considered the artistic high of the studio system. Ironically, many contribute this to corporations buying up the studios! The corporations knew they had no idea how to run a movie studio, so... they put creative people in charge.
This is how you got the run of so many great films the studios would never make today. They also took bigger chances on young, promising talent (the first "film school generation" of filmmakers.)
But with the success of JAWS and STAR WARS, the corporations demanded more of those kinds of hits. The creative folks insisted such things were unpredictable, and the business folks said let's make them less so.
(Sidenote: This was also the same time a completely different phenomenon was happening. A/C was becoming the norm for theatres, making summer movie-going much more attractive.)
Over the next decade, more and more MBAs and marketing people gained influence in the studio system. Being business folks, huge hits were not a creative problem as much as a product/marketing problem.
The 80s is when the “high concept” became pre-eminent because it narrowed a sales pitch to one sentence, a trailer, and a poster. This made everyone a marketing agent for a movie because everyone could explain what it was about!
In the 90s, marketing became just as important as the film itself (reflected in their respective budgets) when Hollywood discovered they could profit from fifty years of pre-existing awareness for old TV shows and movies.
This allowed the marketing department to move away from pitching a movie and convincing you to go see it (lower success rate), to simple “audience awareness” and building anticipation. (higher success rate.)
The audience knew what THE FLINSTONES the movie was. They just needed to know the casting and when it opened. No one needed to have the remake of GODZILLA explained to them. They just needed to know when it opened.
The marketing department prefers AWARNESS over SELLING because awareness is something you can throw money at. Selling is harder, and it’s less predictable. This is why franchises are so valuable.
Whenever someone says, “That’s something I can sell!” It’s usually something that can sell itself. What they mean is, "I just have to let people know about this!"
Hollywoods's reliance on property the audience is already familiar with is 100% because... the audience is already familiar with it. It is easier to market the product and this increases its chances of success.
This focus on I.P. has become so pervasive, many, including executives themselves, have forgotten WHY it's valuable. They'll option an unknown comic BECAUSE it's I.P., forgetting that it's unknown and lacks the main asset of I.P.
Writers do love writing on an I.P. that means something to them. Every Star Wars fan who became a filmmaker would love to work in that universe. But we do not love it more than our own original work. We would always rather work on that.
So when you see another remake, or reboot, or adaptation, and think, "Can't they come up with something new?"
Remember, the answer is yes. Yes, we can. And we want to. You can blame the market or the marketing, but either way, the widespread production of truly original content is just not the studio business model we're in right now. #WGAStrong

Once again, Tumblr fandom never ceases to amaze me with the lack of reading comprehension regarding Endeavor. Let’s count the ways
“Endeavor failed at another thing. He’s gonna get people killed because he apparently drew Touya to civilians”
Did people seriously forget that Endeavor was trying to lure Touya away from people so he wouldn’t burn anything? He just learned that Touya was gonna explode in a matter of minutes. Also its like people keep overlooking that Endeavor has this uncanny coincidence to be near the point of exhaustion and passing out when he encounters Touya. He just came out of a battle with AFO that took his arm and part of his torso. He had no way of taking him farther away.
“Endeavor still doesn’t care about Touya”
Man is not throwing hands with his own son, he’s pleading for him to turn off his flames so he doesn’t blow himself and everyone up nearby.
“Touya was the perfect child all along. Endeavor failed again”
Did people miss this? Endeavor knows he didn’t awaken here. He’s about to die and the ice trait manifested like so. Endeavor’s horrified that Touya had ice powers all along but he could only do so by being pushed to near death. That’s pure irony.
“He still hasn’t accepted responsibility for what he’s done”
Fucking perfect. Endeavor, no matter if he fumbled here or there during his arc, knows he fucked up. He never once tries to blame any of his victims for what he did despite people thinking he’s like abusers out there who try to gaslight, deflect, etc. No, fuck you. Man here is accepting that the shit going down is his fault. Idc if you hate him, man here has my respect for accepting that the consequences are hitting him here and he doesn’t turn away. If you still think he’s the same hate-filled man from the Sports Festival I’m sorry but you don’t accept character growth it seems.
“He’s taking the coward’s way out”
My “friend”, did you miss the part where he’s 800m away from the other heros and who knows how far away from nearby cities? He has no method of cooling his son off. Shoto’s not here and he has no way to reach Rei, Fuyumi, or Natsuo who might have a way to cool off Toya. All he knew, he’s effectively alone here about to see his son turn into Hiroshima 2.0. He’s willing to die with his son all while making sure no one gets killed. How is that him being a “coward” and not shouldering responsibility? If he was truly a coward, he’d say fuck everyone and fly away while Touya blows up. This is him being a father right here.
And finally Rei…
Do people seriously think she’s willing to only save one of these 2? The same woman who while still being in the psych ward said that she knows her husband is changing and knows he wants to make amends. The same woman who went to her injured husband and not only told him to stop pitying himself but also gave him the strength to not quit and get back out there to save their son and civilians. Why do people still have this headcanon that she wants her formerly abusive husband to die? She wants Enji and Touya both to live.
I swear, every week on here it’s like the takes for Enji just tank and tank so hard its not even funny anymore. Its sad.

Respawn writers better not do any other shenanigans
Or I will literally drop a meteor on their HQ (metaphorically)
No seriously Fusehound is a lore accurate, canon beautifully developed relationship. I may not be queer, but Fusehound just gives the fuzziest feels and vibes to me. A relationship developed properly based on trust and love and understanding and cooperation and bonding over emotional trauma and healing together over close to 5 or 6 seasons. SO the apex writers better not introduce any worthless elements to affect their relationship. Their relationship is not Highschool BS, Its an aged mature responsible romance. One beautiful almost canon romance was ruined and replaced with highschool rebound romance. So they better not mess it up.

The funny thing about both Chantry and ELves about their gods
One thing I find extremely funny after Inquisition ends that those who actually preach and shout about their Gods are the ones actually chasing a fairy tale or exagerrating lies and using those lies to commit heinous activities yet the one who don't preach about their Gods have an actual divine being.
The Chantry goes on about Andraste and Maker and how Maker created the Veil to prevent Spirits and how the Magisters entered Golden city and Maker punished them with Blight when all their preaching is literally false. Solas created the Veil and Blight existed long before the Magisters entered Fade. Only stupid thing they did was open the quarantine zone of Blight.
The Dalish elves are so insistent on following their gods and traditions related to them yet it turns out their gods were just extremely powerful Elven Mages who literally enslaved and tortured them and participated in unnecessary wars causing bloodshed of highest level.
Yet the Dwarves who just follow the Stone but never go around preaching or talling tall stories about the Stone actually have a being very close to being a God. I mean Titans literally were their progenitors and the original shaper of world, literal Reality Enforcer, A balancer of Fade and Physical world. This function is basically what a God does, Shape the world.

The hypocrisy of Solas while talking to a Dwarven Inquisitor
Recently I was playing as a dwarf female with high approval Solas and while the trespasser end dialogue was happening, when Solas talked how creating the veil destroyed Elvehnan and how he will do everything to bring back his people? At that point I was just reminded of the hypocrisy of his statement.
He talks about ruining of Kingdoms to a Dwarf. You Evanuris and ancient elves caused the entire downfall of Dwarven people. It was the greed of these Evanuris to manipulate Fade that caused you to wage the so called ancient war against Titans and Dwarves. Then since the Evanuris can't beat them in direct battle, they resorted to trickery, went inside a Titan, destroyed its heart and then manipulated the Song to make them asleep. You caused Dwarves to lose their magic and forced them underground and then took over the body so that you can have limitless supply of lyrium, required to map and mainpulate the Fade and fuse it with Physical world.
Then because of the killed Titan, Red Lyrium is created which is perhaps the reason for Blight and Darkspawn. And then you lock them in some underground and Fade prison combined with a Lock of Archdemons and the Dwarves had to pay the price for it. The Dwarven kingdom is literally on the verge of Extinction. Out of 12 great Thaigs, only 2 are prominent and one has been recently claimed. God the crisis of Dwarven Empire is just heartbreaking. The humans don't have to worry about Darkspawn attacking them every day because the Legion of Dead keep on fighting, losing so many people that its painful to hear.
Solas told that after waking up in present era, he felt like walking among Tranquils, well your People turned Dwarves into literal Tranquils for 9 Millenias. Unable to dream, unable to do magic, the way you felt is the way the Dwarves have been feeling for the last nine millenia.
For other inquisitors I didn't feel this hypocrisy, but for a Dwarven Inquisitor, the hypocrisy of his situation felt real. The Dwarves should also seek all the Titans, raise them and then gain complete control of the Physical world and Fade then, if you are willing to do anything to get your People, right, Solas. Because the Titans and Dwarves were the original residents of the World, You elves were just Spirits who manifested themselves into being and then tried to conquer the World for yourselves.
