But nothing is ever so simple.

Regina and Hook learn the truth in Neverland, that Emma could end up with either one of them, depending upon one of two possibilities:

Possibility #1: Emma saves Regina from the darkness, becomes the dark one, but, according to fate, she will be destined to transform into a shell of herself, the woman Killian would be compatible with.

Possibility #2: Emma stands by and does nothing, lets the darkness consume Regina, but, according to fate, she will be destined to become the woman Regina would be compatible with.

When the night comes and Emma is presented with the decision that will alter her fate, she makes the right choice, even if it hurts to watch the woman she loves be taken over by the darkness. Saving her should be no problem, but navigating through the Realm of Possibilities presents more challenges than anyone is prepared for.

Remember - writers and artists spent months creating the fics and art you enjoy, so it would mean the world to them if you commented to tell them what you liked! A creator who feels appreciated is a creator who is more likely to write or create art again in the future!

Spotlights

As you may have noticed, we have now made it into February without a single Spotlights post. Unfortunately, main mod has had a very busy year, and they slipped down the list of priorities!

However, I do still believe that each fic and piece of art deserves its day in the sun, and so I am scheduling one fic and its paired art to be re-reblogged every day, from now until we’ve re-showcased every one. 

Posts will be reblogged in the same order that they were originally revealed, so if your work came out at the beginning of reveals, it will re-appear at the beginning of this process, too! 

And, if anyone has a post to submit for a specific work - such as a recommendation, additional fanart, a link to a sequel fic, a post from the creator about their process making it, etc. - simply submit it to us, either as a new post, or a link to an existing on, and be sure to include the name of the fic or art it relates to. 

So keep an eye out for those, and remember -  Reblog! Comment! Share! Give nice feedback, and these authors and artists will be more likely to want to make things to share with you in the future.

Hey guys! Just so you know - the ask box on Tumblr is the WORST way to contact the SQSN mods! Please reach out to us via email (best) or Twitter dm (acceptable) if you have a question. 

BUT BEFORE YOU DO THAT - check the FAQ! You can find it at sqsupernova.tumblr.com/FAQ - it answers 80% of all the questions we receive, and it will get you an answer a lot faster than trying to message us. 

Also, a lot of the questions have also been answered by the emails you received! Please take a look back and re-read those emails. We will always always try to provide as much info up front as possible, to give you everything you need to have a successful Supernova.

Introducing the SQSN Chat Room on Discord!

Hello, SQSN participants!

As you may know, we host weekly sprints to encourage creating, talk through your work if you have any struggles or run into any blocks, and of course to have fun!

Sprints are hour-long blocks of time where the whole goal is to write, write, WRITE without getting stuck in just THINKING about writing. It’s a great way to communicate with other participants and challenge yourself and each other to stay on track throughout the Supernova process.

Want to host a sprint yourself? You can! Along with our mod-hosted sprints, we encourage any participants to host their own sprints! Tweet the time of your sprint and @ the SQSupernova account at least an hour before you’re planning it, and we will do our best to signal boost it in time.

This year we’ve decided to use discord as the platform to host sprints! We have a SQSN server set up that will be accessible 24/7, both for sprints and general support.

If you’ve used discord before and already have an account, that’s great! You may not need to read the rest of this post. Go ahead and click on this invitation link for our server, and you’re good to go!

Welcome to Swan Queen Supernova IV: To Infinity and Beyond!

That’s right - it’s here! Our show may be off the air, but we’re here to prove to everyone that our fandom will continue for a long time to come. Read on to find out how to sign up for another round of writing, creating, editing, cheerleading madness.

Art Spotlight: “my demons [fanvid] by @pearsonasnic

What an incredible piece of work! I mean, seriously! I felt it in my heart the first time I watched it. It was so painful and beautiful, the scene choices, the music… It was perfect. It matched perfectly. I love it so much, you’re so talented. So well done, it made me cry, it made my feelings overflow. And so perfectly matched the accompanying story, you two have made an incredible duo, it seems like the story is being faithfully shown to us and it was an amazing experience. Great job, dear! … Interesting way of splicing the scenes together and it makes me want to read the fic to find out if things really happened the way I’m assuming …. The way you juxtapose different scenes for maximum emotional impact is really impressive … Every cut was perfect and how did you get Emma in that cage and that ending, it was all so perfect. I really felt the pain and isolation and the swanqueen love in this video and you’ve really done a stellar job here … That was some powerful storytelling you did there, without ever loosing the flow within the videos you chose to use. It really felt like a complete story of sacrifice and love between those two.

Author Interview – gaypanic!

We sat down with @swenswanswoon to talk about My Demons (My Colors), their process, and their Supernova adventure!

What inspired your story?

Nic’s incredible video!! Seriously I’ve said this a thousand times, but you need to watch it immediately if you haven’t already. I watched it at least three hundred times, and it never fails to blow me away 

How do you form your stories? Do you outline beforehand or write by the seat of your pants? Do you write linearly or out of order?

Outlining is one of my favorite parts of writing, and I almost never write anything without at least a small outline. With this fic in particular, I had a few different ideas for structuring the story, but none felt right until I decided to organize it by color. Which probably sounds insane if you haven’t read it yet lol

What in your fic are you most proud of?

Honestly, maybe the color headers. I was unnaturally excited about them. I really loved the whole project though

Is there anything you’d change now?

Gaypanic created an unexpected journey with Thank You, Come Again, everything about it is amazing, the emotions you’ll feel are unexpected but not unwelcome, each sentence is perfectly structured and well, it is HOT as hell! You will not be disappointed in this piece of creative genius by not only Gaypanic but by the extraordinary artist that inspired this fic! Jajs created a beautiful piece, you’ll be in awe of the detail in every millimetre of this piece, it’s hot and sweet and the amount of work Jajs put into it screams at you the second you look at it! A wonderful collaboration between the two turning a magnificent piece of art into an incredible work of fiction!
