Idalia squeaked when an arm was thrown around her shoulders. She turned her head a bit to see Kayt, the blonde mechanic she sometimes talked to, glaring down at the guy. She squeaked again when Kayt pressed his hand into the table and he let go of her wrist. She rubbed it lightly and hunched in a little closer to the blonde as the man quickly nodded and Lia gently tugged on Kayt's shirt before leading her to the diner bar, not sure if that's where the girl would want to sit. "Th-Thank you for that. I, um, that doesn't normally ... I've never h-had to deal with-that before." She murmured. She took a deep breath to calm herself a bit more and gave Kayt her best smile, though it was a little nervous looking. "What can I g-get for you?" She asked softly.

Kayt rarely went to grab lunch, but today Nikki was quite busy with her munchkin dancers, and knowing Matt, he’d report if the blonde ate or not back to her best friend. Still slightly grimy looking from working, Kayt pushed open the door to the diner, gazing around for a quiet spot. Her eyes locked on the young, stuttering brunette she’d spoken to a few times; the one with the fat feline. She thought for a moment to remember the girls name- Lia. Starting over to her to say hi, Kayt felt a dark feeling rising up inside her, and it only grew further in to anger when she saw the man grip Lia’s wrist. Her pace hastened, and soon she flung an arm around Lia’s shoulders protectively, and slammed her hand down on the man’s wrist, pressing it into the table. She could only imagine the pressure on his carpals must be hurting because his fingers released nearly immediately.  ”I don’t think you need to touch the girl to give her nice tip.” Kayt snapped coolly, not taking her eyes off of his, “which you better do for this harassment, unless you want all the plugs in your truck to mysteriously go missing.”

Idalia felt her face flush at the innuendo directed at her, didn't the guy realize she was only 17, not necessarily jail bait but definitely too young for him. She stuttered out a mumbled excuse and scurried to get his order for him. Her cheeks were still red when she set the plate in front of him and moved to walk away. She let out a muffled squeak when he caught her wrist and leered at her suggestively. "P-Please let g-go." She said softly, tugging at his grip. Some of the other waitresses she often worked with had told her that sometimes some of the truckers got a little flirtatious or handsy but this was her first time experiencing it. She found herself wishing her father had actually decided to have lunch at the diner.

Just to warn you though, he might try to convince you to teach him out to work on the car ... or how to play the guitar. He's kinda weird and crazy himself. I've always wanted an older sibling.

Well, hopefully. I’ll try to be on my best behavior, haha. Oh, they are. Weird, crazy, creepy, but couldn’t ask for anythign else, really. I love my brother, even if he’s a piece of shit sometimes.  hah! I have to push him to get anything, don’t worry.

True ... He'll probably just stare at me like a creeper if I tried to train him. I think dad wanted to get a dog so he could train it as a guard dog, but I wanted a cat ... Knowing Dad though, he'll probably get a dog sooner or later anyway. We haven't been since we moved down here but we still do other stuff for father daughter bonding. I'm sure you do, but I'm sure other people would want to give them a good home too.

I think you can! But cats are more independent, I think. They like doing their own thing and don’t enjoy listening to you. Dogs kind of…need it to fulfill a purpose. At least, that’s what I read. Oh really!? Do you still go with him sometimes? That’s fun. Possibly, Lia! I just want to give them all a good home..

Well I'm having fun taking care of him so far ... I wonder if you can train cats like you can train dogs. Batting's my favorite part of the game. Dad used to take me to the batting cages on his weekends off for father daughter time. Oh jeez, you'll need someone with you to keep you from getting all the dogs won't you?

I’m sure he’ll still be good. He’ll just be fun for you! Baseball is fun, I like batting. And I have no doubt I’ll find a dog soon enough. I love almost everyone I see, though, so I have a hard time not wanting them all.

For now, no telling how manageable he'll be once he's fully settled in. I'm not the best at softball but I am pretty good at softball. Well, hopefully that time is soon.

She’s easily manageable! Not that I don’t mind bathing and brushing animals, but that’s a nice luxury you have. I sucked at soccer, I’m pretty good at baseball though! I’ll find a dog when it’s the right time.

I thought so too! Jealous? Of what? That's because basketball is a sport ... I'm not very sporty ... well ... sometimes .. I like softball, and soccer. We'll have to find you one! A dog right!

Oh well that’s nifty. I’m quite jealous about that, to be honest. But I’d love to see your rambunctious side if you’re gonna take it as a challenge. But you barely got competitive with basketball so we’ll have to see about that. I’m glad you can have one now too! I still haven’t found a pet myself…

I read up on Maine Coons, apparently despite all his fluff I won't have to groom him much because of an undercoat he has. I don't think he sheds much either, I mean I haven't noticed it yet any way. Hmph that sounds almost like a challenge, but .. you're probably right. I'm glad we finally live somewhere, where I can have a pet.

Probably. He is rather fluffy. Oh Lord, Lia, I don’t even think you have a rambunctious bone in your body! I think he’ll be good. Somehow, the first ones are always the best.
