BUT lately i’ve been ready to fight someone!! and that is so not like me. some guy on the street came up to me and started insulting my designs?? i don’t even know what’s up with this place. ”

with a pair of dark sunglasses blocking out the light and a cigarette perched between his lips, matty seemed to be in a hurry as he stepped foot out of the gym, bag slung carelessly over his shoulder. not that he was sprinting down the street per se, but his pace was easily at a speed walk. eyes glued to his phone screen, he barely managed to make it a block before running into someone going the opposite direction. thankfully he didn’t fully collide with the other person, the two only just brushing shoulders, but it was enough for him to stop in his tracks and lift his gaze to see who it was. “ hey—sorry bud, you good ?? ”

krissy let out a loud yelp when matty’s shoulder hit hers as she walked down the street. not so much because he’d hurt her, but because the smallest scare was enough to frighten krissy big time. she let out a sigh of relief when he’d apologized, examining his look. “ what’s with this mysterious persona?? just the other day i was wearing the exact same thing. ”

“ right ?? it doesn’t make any sense ‘cause it’s gross most of the time anyway. ” just the thought made the blonde roll her eyes. even as much as she loved a hot piece of gossip, it was a different story when that gossip involved the humiliation of a friend. “ being punched is actually better than punching someone else, if you ask me. of COURSE you have, that girl is a total psycho. you know she threatened to sick all of her like, gang friends on me ?? i mean, i’m still waiting to get murdered so she probably never will but still. ” with the click of her tongue, she shook her head slowly. “ well—he doesn’t have to LIVE there or anything but can he at least visit ?? also, if i can’t bring my cat, that’s an immediate deal breaker for me. ” the idea of living in the forest was pretty good in theory but in reality, she would probably just spend the entire time complaining about bugs or something. “ no, i think it would have been cute !! in like, a sexy kinda way, i dunno. okay, well—let’s talk about something different then. like how having sex with a set of twins is a LOT less weird than i thought it would be, or like, i dunno—the shit weather. ”

appreciative of gel’s successful attempt to cheer her up, krissy crossed her legs as she leaned back on the bench, much more relaxed now than she’d been when gel first found her at the park. “ how is being punched better?? i’d rather mess up my hand than my face. ” she looked at gel in shock, her mouth forming an O. “ yeah, she’s fucking crazy. that doesn’t surprise me either. can i ask WHY she wants to sic her gang on you? like holy shit, what did you even do to her?? ” krissy shook her head at gel in protest, “ he can visit sure, as long as he doesn’t move in. i don’t trust the two of you with your true love and shit. but of course the cat could come. how could i say no to a cat? ” she smiled at the thought of gel’s little cat. “ what’s sexy about that? you’re fucked. whatever, though. whatever you’re into. SEE - the twin thing isn’t all that weird to me? i don’t know. let’s talk about how i’m no longer living in a SHACK. i moved into danny’s and i’m living large. ”

“you being a woman has nothing to do with it – but of course people dress for other people, life is just a huge competition after all.” flinching his hand back as it was swatted, he let his gaze find her eyes, realising how insulted she seemed and being rather confused since he didn’t think he’d say anything to cause offence. “well, why not? i think you have too much faith in that bag, or your own abilities, either one, they just don’t seem to match well together. but if you’re happy, or whatever. you poor thing, are you done growing? it’s not about tricking people, it’s about proportions, and currently yours are just everywhere. i think my stylist might be free today if you’d like to come and meet her?”

“ you’re talking about my curves. i dress for me, thank you. fashion is ALL about doing something different and doing what makes you happy. you don’t see me commenting on what you’re wearing. what makes you think that’s okay?? ” she glared at him, not sure who he was or why he’d decided it was appropriate to pull her aside to tell her that. sab tried to regain her composure, though, deciding that fighting with him wasn’t getting her anywhere and really wasn’t something she enjoyed. quickly getting flustered at the entirety of the situation, she flattened her shirt as she looked back up at him. “ i’ll pass, i should be getting to work. ”

“designed? there was a design process?” ezra questioned completely genuine as he stepped closer to inspect the clothes, trying to asses the material. “i didn’t say you look ugly, far from it – but why did you match such a bag with that outfit? if you’ve designed everything but that, then you can’t mix and match it. do you not do your own bags? i think you’d do well with something that elongates your legs a little more, and you’re completely hiding your curves. well, i assume you have curves, i can’t tell.”

“ wait - has it ever occurred to you that women dress for themselves and not everybody else?? ” sab swatted his hand away from her clothing, taking a step back. she wasn’t usually argumentative, but she took great offence when people insulted her livelihood. “ no, i don’t do bags. and you can’t go wrong with a bag like this. i think you’d do well realizing that not everybody dresses to uphold certain standards. like, i’m 5′0 tall. i’m not tricking ANYBODY into thinking i’ve got amazon legs. ”

“ well, you know how shit spreads in a place like this. i swear you don’t look like that, at all.  i mean, we’ve ALL forgotten a condom at least once, right ?? lord knows i have. life goes on. i swear, it’s fine. but sure, sure. we don’t have to talk about it anymore. already forgotten. ” she waved a hand dismissively, as if to help prove her point that she was ready to move on from the topic. “ okay, i won’t punch him. not for that reason, anyway. if i do, it’ll be for some other unrelated thing. ” not that she really thought she would go through with it anyway, but it was the thought that counted. “ living in a treehouse would be dope as fuck, you should let me come visit you. ” gel laughed a little, shaking her head as she leaned back against the bench, crossing one leg over the other. “ i know, right ?? i’d thought i’d have to like, teach him all the moves but he already had ‘em. i mean—at least the sex was good ?? it seems like it was a pretty good time before the shit show. maybe just, focus on the good stuff instead. like, uh—i don’t know, his penis or something. that way you don’t have to think about all of the shitty stuff that happened afterward. ”

“ yeah, you’re right. you know?? it’s kinda funny how people have nothing better to do than talk about sperm. ” krissy laughed, probably for the first time at the situation. she was glad to leave it in the past though, and she let out a sigh of relief when gel waved it off. “ i’ve never been punched before, so i can’t imagine. i have been pushed off a cliff, though. violet is fucking neurotic. ” she shook her head as she recalled the triggering memory. “ wanna get a treehouse together or something?? not sure there’d be room for your new boyfriend to come over and i’d be doing an injustice to danny and our SICK place, but like, that’s the DREAM, man. ” she grinned happily at the thought of her future forest life. “ i’m REALLY glad that you didn’t have to teach him, oh my god. that’d be so awkward. yeah, it was a good night. i feel like everything that happened afterwards just overshadows it all and i don’t know, it sucks. but we’re not talking about that. ”

ezra wasn’t trying to be difficult, he never was – he just was a difficult person and he fully embraced it. looking over at the other, he shrugged nonchalantly. “i’m just sayin’, if it was me, i’d never have left the house in that. you do have a mirror at home, right?”
